PRELIMINARY_POSTING_FB01 when I_XCMPL is set to 'X' document is posted

Hi All,
When I am trying to park documents using PRELIMINARY_POSTING_FB01, the document is posted when I set i_xcmpl = 'X' but if I am right it should park the document as if we 'SAVE AS COMPLETED' say in FV60 i.e with status Completed.
I tried loads of other ways i.e just park using PRELIMINARY_POSTING_FB01with i_xcmpl = ' ' and BDC to click on Save as Completed, but the document is posted rather than parked with status 'Completed'!!
I tried to use PP_COMPLETE_DOCUMENT_ENJ which SAP uses behind FV60 when we click on Save as Complete, same problem again - Doc gets posted!!!!
when I Save Doc as Complete with same parameters etc using FV60 manually the doc is nicely parked with Completed status!!
Did anyone face/facing similar problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is Workflow not properly configured in our system?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Parked Document not Posting Automatically

Hello,
I'm using custom workflow for the Invoice Parking Document. When I test in Sandbox, the document gets posted after the release. But in Quality, when i test the workflow, the posting doesn't happening automatically after release is set. The status is In Process. Is there any config have to be done for this.
Binding all is correct.
Can anyone knows what is the problem ??

JMB,
create a new parked document. go to swo1 and instantiate the object, and then try to post it by calling the method. If you are able to post here then there could be a problem at the workflow level when it calls the method. But if you are not, then there seems to be a problem with the method. Are you using the standard method 'POST' or have u developed a custom one?

I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

Hi,
This has something to do with the payment terms of the invoice. When credit memos are created with reference to an invoice, there is a pattern of behaviour on how the field is updated. Similarly when the same is created without reference, the behaviour of this field is dfiferent.
Look at the note 17410, it explains when is the field updated with V.
As per this, when a credit memo is created with reference to an invoice, the invoice number is updated in this field and the payment term of the invoice will become the payment term of the credit memo also
When CM. is created without invoice reference, it is updated with teh value V along with the payment terms in BSEG. In this case the credit memo is always due on the baseline date.

When I try to open a document from a website, I get a message to "Enter name of the file to save to" - this just started now after I have used Firefox for years

But I am trying to open the document, not save it - I no longer seem to have the option to do that. Any ideas?

Does this only affect particular types of files?
I would first check whether you have "Save File" set for that document type instead of "Always Ask" in the following dialog:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Applications
This take a few seconds to populate, then you can scroll down or use the search box there to filter the list to find the type of document that's having a problem.
If Firefox is no longer responsive to the settings in that dialog, it could indicate that the settings file which stores your download preferences has become corrupted. To reset download preferences back to defaults, try this:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old.
Restart Firefox. Hopefully now you will get the customary Open/Save/Cancel dialog when expected.
(If you had set a custom email handler, such as Windows Live Mail, unfortunately, you will need to set that up again. We can help with such things.)

While users are required to enter metadata when uploading a document, it would be a tremendous help if they were required to enter metadata when creating a folder inside a document library.
Is there a way to force entry of metadata when creating a folder? And if this is possible, can I create different metadata requirements for documents uploaded inside a folder?

Yes, you will need to create a Content Types that inherits the Folder Content Type, and then assign your new Content Type to your library. The following blog post explains how to do this (it was written for 2007 but same applies for 2010),

How do you change the default setting for RTF documents from TextEdit to MS Word, I download forms from the Canadian government and they use RTF as a standard, they are supposed to open as MS Word documents (Yes I have Office for MAC 2011) but when download the document it goes to TextEdit which messes up the form format. I can down load it right click and go "open with" MS Word but how can I get the default chnaged to save this step.

In Firefox > Preferences, click the Applications tab. If RTF is there, use the pulldown menu in the Action column to pick MS Word. If RTF is not there, there are instructions here for how to add file types.

Extractor 2LIS_02_SCL -- behaviour when ELIKZ is set

Dear BI-colleagues,
we are actually facing an issue with the standard extractor 2LIS_02_SCL - schedule line Level of purchase orders.
Our system setup:
The data of this extractor needs to be used to measure a supplier service sevel based upon single schedule lines. My predecessor actually changed the standard definition of this extractor in the System (which might be a reason for our issue?!).
In the BW-System, one standard staging DSO has been created with the folling key:
- PO document number
- PO document position
- PO document schedule line
- field BWVORG --> process key to distinguish between purchasing, goods receipt and invoice receipt data
Coming to the issue....
We are using the following fields to measure the (on time) Service Level:
SLFDT statistical delivery date           = "to be" date
BUDAT booing date of GR / IR           = "as is" date
--> whenever the BUDAT is higher than SLFDT, the delivery was not in time
In case a purchase order position has more than one schedule line, we get into trouble using this logic. When the final delivery indicator (field ELIKZ) is set on position level, there are update records passed to the BW for all schedule lines of this position showing as BUDAT the date when ELIKZ was set. Example:

Unfortunately it's not as easy as e.g. just deleting incoming records having the same BUDAT as the last schedule line, as there are some intended processes which can lead to a later BUDAT (e.g. cancellations, corrections...)
Does anyone know if this is the Standard behaviour of this Extractor? How can I solve my issue?

thank you for your remark.
Yes indeed the schedule line is in the key of the staging DSO. But as already said, the issue is that there are update records coming for ALL schedule lines whenever the ELIKZ is set on Position Level. From my Point of view the correct behaviour would be to deliver only update records for the last schedule line (the latest line). In my example the records 4 & 5 should never arrive in the BW system.
On BW side there are no modifications done for this Extractor.. the above mentioned examples are taken out of the PSA table, not from the DSO.
My requirement is either to stop transferring records 4 & 5 and/or to filter them somehow out in the BW-System, which is - from my point of view - almost impossible. I've already done a deep analysis of the incoming records in the PSA table and I couldn't find any way to separate these records from other, correct ones.
You said my example is not the standard behaviour... What would it be in this case (and how to restore standard)?

When do Workflows fire for a Document Library that requires Check In?

I have a SharePoint Designer workflow that is set to fire if the item is changed, and this workflow is running against a Document Library that requires Check In.
So, the big question is, does the workflow fire if the document is checked out, and the properties are modified, but before the document is checked back in? Or, will the workflow only fire after the document is checked back in?
I understand that a workflow is asynchronous, and that a document could be modified and then checked in, and the workflow might only fire after that. What I want to know is whether the workflow will fire if the document properties are modified but the document
is not checked in for some time.

The workflow will fire only when the user checks in the document.

Photosho CS Problem - Can't drag a layer set from one document to another one

I have two documents open
On the source document, i want to drag a layer set from this document to a new one, but its not letting me
What would cause this.
My structure for the source document is

No error message is given. I just can't drag it into the spot I want to drag the layer set to (its not an individual layer, its a layer set)
Basically, this is all I can do (have to do a correction on how the layers and layer sets work, missing one level from the original post):

Try this. It worked for me.
I discovered the same problem. I had an older version of Pages on my iPad. After updating it to the latest version all my previous documents created in pages for the iPad were rendered unreadable and a message stated that they were an invalid format. Why for the life of me would a program that was created by Apple and sense updated not be able to read previous versions...well that's a whole other sad story. Any way I discovered how to fix it but it would require that you had backup your iPad on a computer and not emptied your trash. If this sounds good than here is how you fix it... And it worked for me.
These steps will enable you to reinstall a previous version of the Pages app so you can be able to read and edit older documents.
FIRST: if you did backup your iPad using your computer and did not empty your trash, GOTO the trash and look for PAGES 1.4 (or other number) ipa ( that's the file extension) ie PAGES 1.4 ipa.
SECOND: move that file out of the trash and onto your desktop. Once you do this, double click on it and a box will come up stating a newer version has been found and do you want to revert back to older version. ANSWER YES. It will than automatically place and overwrite the older version back into the file on iTunes that contains the rest of your backed up apps.
THIRD: and this is where it is important that your backup would have to have been on your computer. I'm not sure if backup on the cloud will work. iCloud backup at your own risk And here's why. Before you restore you will need to remove the latest version of Pages off your iPad by doing the usual : holding down the home button until the apps wiggle and remove by pressing on X on app. Removing off your iPad will also delete all your documents but if you have a previous backup on your computer those documents will be stored safely on itunes and will return.
FORTH: plug your iPad into your computer and allow it to sync so iTunes will recognize it. Once iTunes is up and you can see that it recognizes your iPad, GOTO "FILE/DEVICES/RESTORE FROM BACKUP." ******* DO NOT CLICK ON BACKUP***** click on RESTORE FROM BACKUP. This will reinstall all previous settings and documents that were their when you backuped PLUS the older version of Pages that you placed back from the above steps. Let it run through all the setups ( this could take up to 20 minutes...depending on amount of data and photos and apps).
FIFTH: Once everything is reinstalled a message will popup on your computer stating "to leave iPad plugged in until iTunes recognizes it again" ( it's basically rebooting itself). Once done (leave iPad plugged in still) GOTO iPad and follow the steps. IMPORTANT: iPad will ask you if you want to SET IT UP AS A NEW IPAD, BACK UP FROM THE CLOUD or BACK UP FROM ITUNES.....press SET UP AS NEW IPAD. Follow all of the steps required. Once complete GOTO iTunes on computer, look for "IPAD" plus a little arrow ( should be on upper right corner of iTunes window, click on it ( this will safely disconnect your iPad from iTunes) . Now unplug iPad from computer and go to your iPad and look for the older version of Pages. It should be there along with all your old documents ( readable and editable too).

How can I save zoom setting for a DOCUMENT so it opens at that setting?

I find an optimal zoom setting for a document I'd like to use (say 42%) and want the document to open at that setting. I save the document with File>Save Copy. However when I open the document, it opens at the DEFAULT zoom setting set in the Preferences for program. If I change the zoom level here to what I desire for that document, obviously all documents will open at that default setting.
How can I save my desired zoom level for a document, which will most likely be different for EACH document, and have the saved document open at that setting?
This seems like a trivial exercise / feature that should be easy to implement BOTH by the programmers of the software and the user setting the zoom level.
Also, I want to suppress the bookmarks sidebar. I save without the bookmarks but the documents opens with the side bar. Can't THIS be set for each document?
Why is it so difficult to tailor the viewing of a document to exactly what the viewer wants?

OK. Sorry for the mistake in posting the question here.
Again it seems like it should be trivial to save a document in the Reader with a viewer's desired zoom setting. I find this very helpful as I like to use a zoom setting that when scrolling down the document only one full page of the document is viewed (like turning the pages of a book). Without this feature, partial pages are displayed when scrolling unless one experiments to find the correct zoom setting (often it is 60%). One must do this every time one opens the same document, unless one remembers the zoom setting.
Oh well ....

The Get Info dialog should look something like this:
The "Change All" button should be at the bottom of the "Open With" section. This is how it appears in Snow Leopard. Other OSX versions many be slightly different.
If something is changing the setting back to something else you may have a deeper problem than I am able to help you with. What is appearing in the Open with area before you correct it?
If the problem is still persisting, instead of double clicking on the file to open it, try right or control clicking and then select Open With and choose the proper app from the list.
