Premiere Pro CC 2014 8.0.1 won't import MTS, MOV, MP4

Question

My Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2 has no trouble importing AVCHD files (.mts) or .mov or .mp4 files. My Premiere Pro CC (2014) 8.0.1  cannot import these; it sees them as "greyed out". Since, by default, Premiere Pro files open in PP CC 2014, this is a problem. I have to do an "open with" the older version.
Suggestions?
iMac with Mac OS 10.9.4 (Mavericks)

Me too with this one have it randomly when just opening the same project and begining to edit
had it happen about 4 times now.
