Preorderin​g iPad online at Best Buy?

How can i preorder the iPad at best buy's online store? i typed "iPad" into best buy's search box, but am redirected to Apple's brand page with the iPad nowhere to be seen.

They are only available in store currently. Apple was the pre-order source until launch.

    You don't need your receipt, there is not upgrade policy at Apple. Just buy the new one when it comes out and sell the one you have now. If you are referring to trading it in at Best Buy you would need to contact them.

    Just as BruceCarter and Autotech796 stated, any in-store return or exchange would require an ID. While it’s usually a state issued driver’s license provided, we also accept U.S. Passports, Military issued ID’s and many more.

    If the iCloud backup did not have the photos and videos in it, unless you imported your photos and videos to your computer, they are gone.
    You get a total of 5GB of free storage. Did you exceed that limit? Have you restored from the iCloud backup?
    Are these purchased movies? Synced photos?

    I responded to you earlier, and because I thought everyone knew, I did not tell you that it is tomorrow, Fri., Nov. 2nd. Apologies. And remember, they all open at 8:00 am.
    If you can, you should really try to get there when they open in the morning if you really want it fast. I doubt that Best Buy and other resellers will get as many ipad 4's and minis as Apple stores will get. Also, and I'm just guessing, the crowds might more likely want the mini than an ipad 4 simply because it's new and different from Apple's regular ipads, so that might help you.
    If you can't get there by 8:00 am, you might check with Best Buy customer service now and see if they will also be available on-line at 8:00 am tomorrow and when it will be delivered if you buy on-line.

  • Best Buy "HOLDS" 2X the authorized amount on a Debit Card?

     My bank just alerted me to having 2 charges for a single purchase from Best Buy - it was a portable ac.  My online account already shows both charges deducted.
    I call customer service and the first rep tells me - only one charge was authorized - nothing we can do, deal with your bank.
    I call bank and they say Best Buy must go thru their Merchant Services to even see the double charges then call the bank to restore the funds.  They said get a supervisor.
    I call Best Buy again, and 2nd rep says money is being held and Best Buy will only receive the amount when I get the shipment delivered.  No explanation about why they are holding DOUBLE the amont of the purchase.  They said the extra charge will be dropped automatically after 2 days - like they can tie up my funds at will too bad.
    So is this normal procedure when you use a debit card to make an online purchase?  I've never had a merchant do this sort of thing. Just because technically its being "HELD" and will be "dropped" this is ok? My bank tells me its up to Best Buy to authorize the cancellation on the extra charge.  I was planning to use the extra funds this month on some sale items including a new tablet but now am scared to buy anything online from Best Buy.

    Having twice the amount of an order unavailable from your account would be quite frustrating, especially if you have limited funds available. Our normal process when an order is placed is that an authorization is placed on the account to verify that the funds are available, and the funds should not actually be collected until the order ships. If items ship separately, the funds should be collected only for the items that have shipped.
    Depending on your financial institution, the authorization may make the funds unavailable all together, or it may only appear as a pending charge as we have not collected any funds yet. Depending on how your financial institution processes transactions, you may see the authorization and charge on your account at the same time until your financial institution drops the authorization. Typically, the authorization is dropped on our end when the funds are finally collected. Information on authorizations and collections can be found on our Conditions of Use page on BestBuy.com.
    I was able to review the order once I located it using the email address you registered with the forum. It appears that the only transactions would have been the authorization and the collection of funds. That being said, I would recommend reaching out to your financial institution in regards to the authorization that is likely still holding the funds on their end.   • Market Place is a scam! Ridiculous return problems! I feel betrayed an tricked by Best Buy!!!!

    I didn't even know there was a Market Place!  Until I just tried to return something I purchased online to Best Buy local Store.  Imagine my surprise as an Elite PLus Member when they told me I had to contact each vendor individually to return something I purchased from BestBuy.com.  Thats when they showed me the teeny tiny little bitty blurb of text on the item page that said sold by xyz company.  I'm busy ordering a bunch of stuff online for Xmas.  How am I suppose to stop and read every blurp of text on a Bestbuy.com website to see if they changed how they sell stuff they apparently don't offer at Best Buy but is instead sold by shady third persons.  I shop at Best Buy because I know Best Buy policy and return procedures.  I like their customer service in the local store.
    If I wanted to buy crap from third party vendors, then have to pay to send it back to them, I'd buy from a catalog sold at the corner magazine rack.  I shouldn't have to endure this sort of process from Best Buy.  (removed per forum guidelines) who blatantly shows you that your not buying from (removed per forum guidelines) will handle your problem like you did buy it from (removed per forum guidelines) and even ship it back to (removed per forum guidelines) on their dime!!!!!
    I feel what Best Buy did was sneaky, deceptive, and in no way what I'd expect as a long time customer.  That fact that I have to find each indiviually seller I purchased from, call or email them to ask for a return request, assuming I don't have to call or email several times to get ahold of them.  Then to make me have to pay to return the item???  Becuase I can't take it to a Best Buy store to return it as I have always been able to do?!!!
    This is the last time I buy anything online from Best Buy.  At least if I buy it in the store I know I can return it if I need to.  Not sure I even want shop again with Best Buy after this!!!  I already warned all my Friends on Facebook an twitter about what has happened.
    I should write a article an post to (removed per forum guidelines) an see if they will run the article so others won't have to endure what I'm going through.
    Listen up Best Buy!!!  If I wanted to purchase from shady third parties I would!!!  But I don't want to.  I shop Best Buy because I can return it to the store!  If I have a problem or I can call Best Buy customer service an they take care of it.  I don't want to deal with some third party shady shop in NY running a business in the subway station on his cellphone.
    NOT a happy customer!!!  The fact I have so much run around to return two items I purchased from what I thought was my normal Best Buy dot com store an instead was some third party yahoo people who make me pay to return it after three days of trying to get a hold of one of them pisses me off.  The fact I still haven't heard from the second vendor after emails and phone calls really annoys me.  Even your own customer service can't get ahold of the business.  Just a message machine where no one calls you back.

  • Defect in aluminum? no help from Apple or Best Buy

    So I am the owner of a new MacBook Pro 15" rig, purchased on Oct 19 online from Best Buy, picked it up at local store. Noticed a small defect in the aluminum case next to the power button. At first did not seem like a big deal, but the more I looked at it, and considering what I spent, I thought it should be looked at. I took it back to the Best Buy store and was told by Geek Squad guy that it appeared that something underneath was pushing up. He then said because I was (7 days) beyond their 14-day exchange/return policy, that there was nothing they could do for me, and that I had to call Apple.
    I called Apple and after being handed off from two other CSRs, was inbformed by the third CSR that becuase the defect was not something that was affecting the performance or operation of the machine, there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO either. She said that I could take it to a repair center and pay for a new case, but because the repair guys would be replacing a part, that my warranty woud be voided. Hmmm...I spent over $1800.00 on this less than a month ago and expect to have the unit for many, many years. This is a glaring example of VERY POOR SERVICE. I can live with the cosmetic defect, but the customer service that I have so far received from Best Buy (not surprising) and Apple (who claims "award winning service") makes me think twice about what and where I will purchase in the future.
    If anyone from Apple is monitoring this blog, maybe you can intervene here and win me back!

  • Received Damaged Collectors' Edition item (damaged in-store by Best Buy staff)

    My name is Arthur.  I am a frequent, loyal/long-time customer, and Best Buy Elite Member.  I recently placed an online order for a Windows/PC game, “South Park Stick of Truth: Grand Wizard Edition (Collectors’ Edition).”  The game has been sold out since its release, early this month, but I excitedly managed to order a copy online from your website and had high expectations/anticipation to be receiving a new/flawless copy, since this is a collectors’ edition.
    After waiting about 1 week for its arrival, after I ordered, I received an e-mail notification that my item was ‘ready for pickup.’  I rushed over to Best Buy in Glendora, CA to pickup my item, but to my disappointment, when the Best Buy customer service employee had pulled out my item from under the counter cabinet, I noticed my item had been placed under heavy items at the store location, which resulted in the collectors' edition box of my item being heavily damaged. I brought up the matter to the attention of the customer service person that was assisting me.  She offered to try to find a new item in stock to replace the box; unfortunately, she was unable to locate another new item.  She said she was sorry and that 'there was nothing else she could do to help me, being the item was essentially “out of stock” everywhere at Best Buy.'
    I hate to sound like a complainer, but I paid nearly $90.00 for a collectors’ edition product.  For a 'collectors’ edition product', I would have loved to/expected to receive a ‘mint/brand new’ product (including the box) to keep for as long as I own it.  However, this item, sadly, is very damaged and I’m highly disappointed that I spent so much money on what looks like a “used box, damaged item.”  If I had known I was going to receive a damaged product by Best Buy, I would have purchased it on Ebay, Amazon, or somewhere else, with the assurance that I would be receiving a “new, mint condition” product.  
    If there is any possible way you can assist me to remedy this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. At this point, I just feel very disappointed, and a bit cheated. I have photos of the damaged box if you need to see substantiation. Not sure I will be ordering such items online from Best Buy again, after today.

    I know the excitement and anticipation that builds leading up to picking up a new video game! I am sorry if this feeling had to switch to disappointment and frustration when you received your game damaged.
    Normally stores only receive enough stock to fulfill the amount of collector’s edition preorders that customers placed for that store. This could explain the stores inability to replace it. The store associates should have been more careful with the products that were waiting for In-Store Pickup.

    I Bought an iPad 3, 7 days ago in Best Buy, Miami. Now I'm leaving in Madrid, Spain. You can imagine how I'm feeling right now, but that's not the problem. What I want to know is what can I do to return it and change it for the new Ipad 4 Generation.     In the past I have purchased apple products directly from apple. Last year I got some significant best buy gift cards for Christmas and so I'd like to get my new iPad there. They are not taking "reservations". Having never done this before -do I need to be camped out there? They are having regular hours. If I show up at store open at 9am -how likely am I to get an iPad? And if I wait - and there is a delay/back order how long is the delay typically? I don't have to have one on Friday -but I don't want to wait a month either.

    NO guarantee...best buy doesn't have the nickname of best Deny for nothing, but it might be a way to get your device without playing the 'stand in line' lotto. And you can redeem gift cards online also as far as I know.
    I totally understand wanting to get it on release day,b ut if I had a chunk o change in gift cards I'd be fine with getting it a few days later
