  • Solution Manager 4.0 and SLD automatic population

Our Solution Manager 4.0 installation was failing repeatedly while importing the CIM objects into the SLD. So here is what we did:
1.During installation we pointed the Solution Manager data supplier to the production SLD. The production SLD is on 640 wheras this is on 700.
2.After installation we created the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD by creating all necessary roles, groups, users and started importing the CIM and the delta.
3.We setup the data supplier of the production SLD to populate the  Solution Manager (Admin) SLD. It looks like it is not getting populated and we got the following error in the production SLD:

1.I want to setup a way where the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD is populated from the production SLD every so often thru SMSY_SETUP -> Expert Settings -> Write back into SLD.
2.I want to use this Solution Manager (SLD) as the Admin SLD for NWA.
3.How do I know that the Object Manager of is up/down in the Solution Manager(SLD) and maybe restart it, while I can see that the SLD server is up.

Can somebody please tell me how I can proceed from here.

  • IR and ID not registered in sld as exchange infrasructure ?

    Hi Guys,
We have installed NW2004s and SP 14.  The PI is configured for central sld on the solmanager. I did all the settings for the central sld.
If i go to Technical systems of type Exchange Infrastructure on central sld all the components except IR and ID are registred. I see there adapter engine, integration server,RWB but not ID and IR.
I cannot even import the SWCV from central sld into IR and i also dont see the list of adapters in ID and i get the error during the cache notification saying central sld cannot be reached.
any help would be really appreciated
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi,
They will register themselves when you run them for the first time. Try it, if they don't, I can give you more information on the issue.
Also, check your Exchange Profile parameters for the host names, users and passwords.
For the adapter metadata missing in ID, did you import XI Content to the IR?

  • Central SLD setup

    Hi
We have a freshly installed landscape comprising of Solutiona Manager 4.0,EP 7.0,ECC 6.0,BI 7.0.(I am new to netweaver)
We need to setup a central SLD on the solution manager system. Also there is a requirement to monitor all system form the solution manager
    NWA.
Currently when I log onto NWA the follwing error messages are shown
system Landscape Directory is not accessible!
Only Local system can be administered!
Could someone tell me the steps to setup the SLD(ie connect different systes),setup central NWA and some basic concepts.
As far as I understand SLD data supplier is used for communication between the j2ee engines.
so for eg: for a pure Java stack like EP is it enough to give the logon details of Solution manager in SLD Data supplier of Ep's Visual administrator..?
    Please help.
    thanks
    rocky
P.S: will reward points for helpful answers.

    Hai,
It is better to mention the central SLD server details during the installation process in the phase,Registration in System Landscape Directory(central SLD,local SLD,no SLD)
We need to setup a central SLD on the solution manager system. Also there is a requirement to monitor all system form the solution manager
    NWA.----
    > Maintain the Central SLD as Solutionmanager system.Login into the other system and go to Visual Administrator(c:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<instno>\j2ee\admin\go.bat)->Server->Services->SLD Data Supplier-> In the tabRuntime, HTTP Settings->Give the host name of the Central SLD system(Solman),Port number, SLDDSUSER,and password and save the settings and then in the
CIM Client Generation Settings->Give the hostname of the Central SLD system, port number,SLDDSUSER and Password, save the settings and click on the CIMClient Test to check the CIM Test.
    Once the CIMTest is successful,
Click on the button(Assign application roles to user groups) and also on the button (trigger datatransfer to System Landscape Directory(SLD)),this transfer the settings to the Central SLD system.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Thanks Michael,
I was able to change the CIM settings and then the SLD data shown in portal (content management > Webdynpro) also changed.
But that  red message in the bottom of the VA still exists whenever i select SLD Data Supplier service.
    How do i rectify this?
I also trigerred an SLD Datatransfer with success. But still after that also I see the same Red message :" SLD Data collector task "

  • Object Name / Name Server configuration

    Hello community,
I am trying to grasp how to setup the name server configuration in the sld for use with JDI / NWDI.
What makes me wonder is that one has to provide a namespace prefix / object name in two different locations (NW04sSP09 / SR2):
    1. sld -> Administration -> Section:Server Settings -> Object Name
    2. sld -> Landscapes -> New Landscape... (type NWDI Systems) -> Add system to landscape -> New Hosted System ... (type SLD) -> Field "Object Server".
What is the difference between these two namespace settings?
I checked SAP Help,  several SLD Guides, RKT Content, SAP Notes without finding a clear answer, sadly. I would really appreciate if someone could help clarifing this question.
    Thanks
    Kristian

    Hi all,
short update: A test (NW04sSP9) showed that the input field for the object server name in (2) is not persisting the prefix information.
After restarting the SLD Server the field shows the prefix provided in (1).
Changing the name in (1) also updated the name of the input field Object Server in (2) after SLD server restart.
Problably the input field (2) ought to be read-only? Or is there a reason for write-mode I cannot find out?
    Regards

  • Multiple ESS access to single EP server from two backend servers.

    Hi Experts,
I have one concern regarding ESS.
Can we do or can we make   two ESS access (R3 server1 and R3 Server2)  from one Portal server.
I heard  that from one portal server (ESS)  we can connect multiple clients which are from backend R3 (example client 100 and client 200)
    My requirement is  :
We have two R3 backend servers and one EP(ESS) server.
Can we access two backend systems from one EP server with Two ESS tabs.
I am expecting Multiple jco settings, multiple SSo, Multiple SLD, Multiple SPRO Menu settings, UWL settings.
Multiple service specific settings to be access  by using  single EP server(Multiple ESS Tabs)
Please help me for doing this.
    Regards
    Kumar.

yes you can do so As Pooja indicated also refer
Please have a look  at the Note 596698
Thanks for clearing that up, Now if I understand the issue
    correctly :
1 Portal, Two backend R/3 System, This can be done, Now then
if you dont want the particular application disable that
r/3 as you are aware that the links appear from V_T7XSSSERRES.
Here you can also make sure some applications appear or no.
    Accessing multiple Backends in WebDynpro:
    How it can be done?
    1) Define different JCO Destinations
The logical System names have to be defined in the Web Dynpro Content
    Administrator.
Different clients or completely different Systems can be accessed
given that the function modules called exist in those systemsThe logical System to be used can be passed to the Web Dynpro
Application by using a URL Parameter
The URL Parameter can be easily maintained in the iView Property when
    using the portal.
The standard way to handle this is to create copies (via delta-link) of
all the business package iviews and change the 'System' property in the
newly created iviews to point to the correct system Alias. From the
portal point of view this is all that is required in order to point an
    view to a different system

  • NetWeaver Administrator reports "SLDirectory is not accessible"

    Hi,
NetWeaver Administrator (http://host:port/nwa) on our SP12 XI installation reports:
System Landscape Directory is not accessible
Only local system can be administered
The SLD is actually on the same server and is working correctly, even accoding to the WebDynpro Content Administration.
Anyone know what might be wrong?
    Thanks,
    Thorsten

    Hi Dmitriy,
the setup of the NetWeaver Administrator connections to SLD is described in the Monitoring Setup Guide. There is a quick link in Service Marketplace /nwa -> media library -> documentation -> Monitoring Setup Guide.
Basically the steps to connect NWA to SLD are the following (if you have already registered the systems of your system landscape to SLD and have set up the monitoring for the systems):
    - In the Visual Administrator of the Central Monitoring System (CEN)(NWA-System) under Server->Services-> SLD Data Suppliers you have to enter the CIM Client Generation Settings (http connection to SLD with User/PWD). Mark the applications "sap.com/tclmwebadminmainframewd/webdynpro/public/lib/app.jar" and
"sap.com/tclmwebadminsldwd/webdynpro/public/lib/app.jar" (This enables the NWA to get data from SLD.)
    - In the ABAP Engine of CEN, the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI must be maintained, the connection data for SLD must be entered in transaction SLDAPICUST. (This connection helps entering monitored systems in SLD.) Additionally you require a JCo RFC Connection which points from the NWA system to the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI of CEN. Create this connection in the Visual Administrator of the NWA system under Server -> Services -> JCo RFC Provider.
    - SLD gateway information has to be entered in transaction RZ70 of the Central Monitoring System. (With this transaction the data transport from CEN to SLD is managed.)
    - For each administered system you can store the login data with help of the Destination Service of the NWA system. (If you don't do this you get login popups in NWA for all administered systems). You can enter the login data in Visual Administrator -> Server -> Services -> Destinations as described in the documentation.
All the steps are described in detail in the Monitoring Setup Guide.
    Good luck
    Bye,
    Astrid

  • Installing and configuring a brand new SSM

    Hi,
Our company decided to switch SSM platform, from the current Windows Server 2003 32 bit with MaxDB to a Windows Server 2003 64bit with MS SQL Server.
We've just installed a brand new SSM system on the new platform and we're now going to start its configuration.
We do not want to migrate any data from the previous installation, so a system copy will not be needed.
    However, we have this question:
What is the procedure to "detach" the old SSM (it only does Early Watch alerts and has the System Landscape maintained)?
Is it necessary or just configuring the new SSM will be enough?
    Thanks
    Antonio

    Hi António Barrote
If your old system is getting satellite system data using TMS/LIS rfc, then you have to remove your old solman from the Transport route.
If the datasource is SLD, then you can stop the communication using the tcode SMSY_SETUP Edit--> Expert settings. Remove the SLD server entry from there.

  • Remove the XISUPER user

    Hi Everyone,
Does anyone see a problem with the removal of the XISUPER user? We are locking down a new system for security purposes and want to make sure this user  is not required for any specific transactions/programs in the system.
    Regards,
    joe

    Hi Joe -
XISUPER is a user that is created at post-installation time, significance being that it was not created during installation (like the service users XIISUSER, XIAFUSER, etc.), but only manually afterwards.  You could have just as well have created a different user during that post-installation step where XISUPER was created (with the same roles of course).
Even with that said, you must be careful as you or others may have used it in various post-installation connection settings (e.g. SLD Data Supplier service, RFC dests, etc.).

  • SLD - Technical System  general settings not all filled..is this a problem?

    Hi all,
I don't really have any experience with the configuration of SAP PI, I just do some maintenance and small adjustments from time to time.
I noticed in the SLD in the Technical System settings of the AS JAVA that the following fields were not filled in the general tab:
I'm a bit worried since these fields are filled on our test environment, on our production environment they are not...
Installation Number: *** not yet assigned ***
System Number:      *** not yet assigned ***
I can't just add this info, it seem I have to make remove the existing one and create a new entry.
Everything seems to be working fine so I'm a bit reluctant to try and chance this if it's not necessary.
So my question is, could it cause a poblem further on if these fields are not filled?
If so, can I fill these fields without removed the existing entry and creating a new one?
    Thanks for any feedback provided.
    Cheers,
    Benjamin

    Hi Michal,
    thanks for your reply.
Would this be done via the SLD Data Supplier Configuration: SLD Data Supplier in the NWA ?
I don't have access to this in our production environment right now so I can't try.
If so, I'll try it later with a system admin.
