Presence web service - PolicyException

Hi,
I tried to run the example for presence web service, which is parlayxwsclient. I tried to implement the methods provided by Interface: PresenceConsumer, Operation: subscribePresence and Interface: PresenceConsumer, Operation: getUserPresence. Sometimes, I managed to run it successfully. However, sometimes, I got the exception shown below. The program seems to be very unstable. Can someone help me with this problem? Thank you.

I've found the cause of my problem. I did not give the backend enough time to get the subscription after subscribing. I added this line in between subscribePresence and getUserPresence operations:
Thread.sleep(2000);
After adding this line of code, my problem is solved!

• Presence data from web service

Hello,
i like to get presence data from the presenceconsumer web service. But everytime a call getUserPresence i get a PolicyException (POL0002): 'Privacy verification failed for address %1, request is refused'.
I use a web service proxy generated from the wsdl of the presenceconsumer web service. Authentication is made against the appregationproxy by setting username and password. Both users (the one i use for authentication and the one whose presence data i want to get) are registered in the timesten database.
The user whose presence data should be accessed is logged in the OracleCommunicator and has the other user on the allowed list for presence data.
All other operations of the presence web services work without any problem, so why not getUserPresence?
Thanks for help

Hi,
I have found the problem and fixed it :)
If you see my code, I was checking for the pending subscriptions after publish() method. When I tried this check before publish() method, I got the expected results (All the pending subscriptions).
Also, I got an error (ServiceException) while dynamically retrieving the subscribed attributes for some reason. I have found an alternative solution, by manually allowing only the PresenceAttributeType.Activity (instead of all getSubscribedAttributes()).
Note: This code was working fine in my local machine because, I have already setup-ed the users (Buddy list) through Oracle communicator in my machine. I was not able to install OC in the VM for some reason though OS is same in both my machine and the VM (OS: Windows 2000 SP4).
thanks & regards,
S.Vasanth Kumar.
My latest code for your reference.

• Creating simple Web Services from Plain Old Java Objects (PoJo)

This post is with reference to a sun web page at URL - http://developers.sun.com/appserver/reference/techart/ws_mgmt.html
It is a crisply written tutorial on creating a simple Java class and deploy the class as a JAX-WS 2.0 Web service.
Requires -
a) Sun Application Server - I got App Server Platform Edition 9.0_01
b) Also requires Java_Home to JDK 1.5.0 - this was something i did even though my App Server i believe is using jdk 1.6.
[The reason i know that is because when i removed jdk 1.6. directory from my C:\Java location, my app server asadmin commands would not be found. While i dont remember configuring the App Server to point to JDK 1.6. specifically, i am assuming the app server version i downloaded and installed auto installs it and uses it]
I wrote up the class as described in the tutorial.
Initially i had difficulty compiling the class, and it would error out as being unable to find the javax.jws package.
I researched the problem a little and included the jaxws-tools.jar in the classpath and that error went away.
According to the tutorial the presence of the @WebService annotation will tell the App Server to process it as such and also auto deploy it to the App Server.
However while the class file is created, the autodeploy part fails completely.
I have the entries in server.log corresponding to this javac execution stored in a separate file. Didnt know how best to attach it here.
Please help.
Best regards,

Just inline the appropriate pieces of the server log.

It seems it is looking for the file; it is in the specified path so I cannot figure out what's wrong. No reference about the problem found over internet. Same web service deploys without problem on Tomcat, but by requirement, needed to deploy onto Weblogic 10g or above. Any help?
Thanks in advance.

how did you configured this ws-policy file?
are you using any @Policy annotations?

• How to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form

Hi all,
I am using Adobe Livecycle Designer stand-alone (without Netweaver integration), currently a trial 8.2 version.
I need to invoke an HTTP Web Service (non-SOAP) in an Adobe Interactive Form. The Net.HTTP method does not work due to security reasons. The error message I get is:
(german)
" NotAllowedError: Sicherheitseinstellungen verhindern den Zugriff auf diese Eigenschaft oder Methode.
Net.HTTP.request:28:XFA:form1[0]:mysubform[0]:Region[0]:change"
In english this translates to: "Security settings prohibit the call of this property or method.
And indeed the "Javascript for Acrobat API reference" includes the following note:
"Note:This method can only be made outside the context of a document (for example, in a folder level JavaScript)."
So this method seems to be excluded from use in an Adobe document, e. g. in an interactive form. But why is it then listed at all? Is there a way to call HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form by somehow branching out the call outside the document itself? Of course I do not want to call a SOAP service which then calls the HTTP Web Service
Is there any other way to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form?
Thanks a lot for your response!
Regards
Christoph

Hi,
back again, had to handle other issues, sorry.
Just to get a little more concrete. The condition depends on the context node attributes. So if an attribute is initial, it's field should not been shown, if it's not initial, it should ne shown. There are 6 context attributes and therefore 6 fields in the form. How can I get the attributes' value?
And can I put them into the same subform or do I have to create 7 (6 conditions + blank-condition) subforms?
I put the fields (textfield and context node value) that should be shown depending on conditions in a subform. So how can I adress this subform?
I'm not so familiar with JavaScript, so please help me. I need something like:
if (context_node_attribute X is initial) {
subform_1.presence = "hidden" ;
I tried it with
if ( ARB_STUNDEN.rawValue != null) {
Beratungsstunden.presence = "hidden" ;
but it didn't work....
Thanks,

• ERROR Consuming external Web Services from JDE E1

Hello everybody,
I am trying to consume external web services from JD Edwards Enterprise One. For that, I have followed "Consuming External Web Services Tutorial".
I have followed all the steps successfully, but when the final test called from an interactive application to the business function that I had created in C get the following error messages in the log file:

I would like to debug the Business Function in C from Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, but I can't, because breakpoints are disable.
I have followed the following manual:
E1: BSFN: Debugging Business Functions Using Visual Studio .NET 2003, 2005 and 2008 (I have founded it in Oracle Support (Metalinki)).
And here they say:
"It is a normal feature of visual studio 2003/2005 to disable break point at the start of a debug session and display a warning saying no symbol is loaded. Break point will only be activated on demand when the code to debug is loaded in to the runtime memory".
I think is necessary add the referency with parent DLL (in my case, CALLWS.dll) but I don't know how can I do it. I have tested to insert in Business Function's source code the following line:
"#pragma comment(lib,"CALLWS.dll")" to force to include it, but when it was built:

• JWSDP 1.5 client and WSE 2.0 Web Service

Hello all
This post is mostly about .Net and WSE 2.0 but here goes:
Im securing a web service using WSE 2.0. One of the potential clients of the web service is a Java client using Sun JWSDP 1.5. The problem is that the java client gets the error Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction:, and when I look at the trace the error is:
WSE841: An error occured processing an outgoing fault response. ---> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeaderException: Header http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing:Action for ultimate recipient is required but not present in the message.
The soap the java client is sending has no Action header and Im told it can not be changed. Therefore I have been trying to tell my service that actionheader is not required but without success.
This is a actionheader the webservice accepts:
<wsa:Action wsu:Id="Id-29db7046-313a-4675-9bf8-6446b9463aeb">http://tempuri.org/send</wsa:Action>
What I have tried is to change the policy file
This is the default:
<!--MessagePredicate is used to require headers. This assertion should be used along with the Integrity assertion when the presence of the signed element is required. NOTE: this assertion does not do anything for enforcement (send-side) policy.-->
<wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Required" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wsp:Header(wsa:To) wsp:Header(wsa:Action) wsp:Header(wsa:MessageID) wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
Here I tried to tell the service that only body and timestamp was required
<wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Required" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
I have also tried to tell the web service everything was optional:
<wsp:MessagePredicate wsp:Usage="wsp:Optional" Dialect="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/2002/12/wsse#part">wsp:Body() wsp:Header(wsa:To) wsp:Header(wsa:Action) wsp:Header(wsa:MessageID) wse:Timestamp()</wsp:MessagePredicate>
I have also tried to skip the policy file and check on the the bodyparts in code but the error occurs before the webmethod is even invoked.
It is my understanding that WS-specifications are optional and that the way to define which ones I want to use is via a policy file. Is that the correct understanding? I find it difficult to find good documentation on how to use different WS-specifications with WSE 2.0 enabled web service. Does anyone know of good documentation on WS-security using X509 certificates for signing?
Does anyone have solution to this problem or ideas that might lead to solution?
P.s. I have looked at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnbda/html/wssinteropjwsdp15.asp but I need an example where a java client is talking to a .Net WS. It would be very helpful
Regards,
- Bjarki B.

Hi,
firstly JWSDP 1.5 is pretty old, the latest release of JWSDP is JWSDP 2.0 that happened late last year.
The problem is most likely happening due to a bug in JWSDP 1.5. If you dump the Message that is going over the wire you will probably see
SOAPAction : ""
SOAPAction : "<the correct action value>"
And this is the reason for the failure. I believe you are using SOAP 1.1 messages right ?
What you will need to do is upgrade to
JWSDP 2.0 and more important also upgrade your SAAJ jars in the JWSDP installation to SAAJ 1.3
https://saaj.dev.java.net/files/documents/52/32730/saaj1.3.zip
Alternatively, you can use Sun's Project Tango (Sun's Next Generation WebServices Interoperability Technology Offering) which has been tested to interoperate with Microsoft WCF.
http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/glassfish/ProjectTango/
You can download Project Tango by visiting the following page :
https://wsit.dev.java.net/
Look at the Try It section for instructions on how to use it.
Using the Netbeans Plugin you can develop a java client which can securely communicate with the .Net WebService. All you need to do for that is use Netbeans to create a Java WebService Client by pointing it to the WSDL of the .Net Service.
Let us know if this helped.
Thanks...

• NoSuchMethodError when trying to invoke web Service in Clustered Environmen

(Both the services are deployed in Weblogic 10.0)

• Error while invoking a WS-Security secured web service from Oracle BPEL..

Hi ,
We are facing some error while invoking a WS-Security secured web service from our BPEL Process on the windows platform(SOA 10.1.3.3.0).
For the BPEL process we are following the same steps as given in an AMIS blog : - [http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1607/how-to-call-a-ws-security-secured-web-service-from-oracle-bpel]
but sttill,after deploying it and passing values in it,we are getting the following error on the console :-
“Header [http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing:Action] for ultimate recipient is required but not present in the message”
Any pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Saurabh

Hi James,
Thanks for the quick reply.
We've tried to call that web service from an HTML designed in Visual Studios with the same username and password and its working fine.
But on the BPEL console, we are getting the error as mentioned.
Also if you can tell me how to set the user name and password in the header of the parter link.I could not find how to do it.
Thanks,

At the time of login to web services if my server is down ,

I want to capture this error so that i can try another server to login. how do i capture this error
Another place where i want to capture the return Value is when i look for a report on the server
rh = boBIPlatform.get("path://InfoObjects/Root Folder/"src_folder"/" + reportName +
"@SI_SCHEDULEINFO,SI_PROCESSINFO" ,oGetOptions);
oInfoObjects = rh.getInfoObjects();
CrystalReport = (CrystalReport)oInfoObjects.getInfoObject(0);
Here if the report is not there on the server , it returns a null handler exception.
but if i try catching it by checking my responsehandler is null like rh == null it does not catch it.

at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1438)
at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1411)
2nd case :
I am geeting reports from the server and scheduling them:
i run the following code which works fine if reports is there
rh = boBIPlatform.get("path://InfoObjects/Root Folder/"src_folder"/" + reportName +
"@SI_SCHEDULEINFO,SI_PROCESSINFO" ,oGetOptions);
oInfoObjects = rh.getInfoObjects();
CrystalReport = (CrystalReport)oInfoObjects.getInfoObject(0);
Here if the report is not there on the server then i should be able to catch from the response handle rh that it has got a null value.
but rh does not return a null value
the code ultimately throws a null handle at the following line
CrystalReport = (CrystalReport)oInfoObjects.getInfoObject(0);
i am not able to catch the null value there also.
hope you got my issue.

• How to allow access to web service running under ApplicationPoolIdentity

Hi All,
I have a WCF web service hosted in IIS 7 (or maybe 7.5, whichever comes with Windows server 2008 R2) using DefaultAppPool running under ApplicationPoolIdentity per Microsoft's recommendation. The web service needs to call a stored procedure to insert data
to a db. The web server is on a different VM than the database server. The db server is running SQL 2008 R2. Both VMs run Windows server 2008 R2.
When the web service tries to connect to db, it encounters this exception:
Exception in InsertToDb()System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
Here's the connection string in web.config:
Application Name=somewebservice;Server=somewebserver;Integrated Security=SSPI;Database=somedatabase;Connection Timeout=60"
How should I configure SQL security to make this work?
Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the link Dan. Maybe I'm the one who cause the confusion :)
If I understand you(and Erland) correctly, you suggest using a custom, domain account for application pool identity. However, if we do that, our IT will need to maintain those accounts, and they don't want that. So I'm choosing a built-in account called
ApplicationPoolIdentity as the application pool identity, but it's not working. Network Service, on the other hand, works, but my boss wants us to follow MS's best practice.
What's puzzling is that according to this: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/624/application-pool-identities/, both Network Service and ApplicationPoolIdentity uses machine account to access network resource (like db in this case), but in my case, Network Service
works, but not ApplicationPoolIdentity.
Hallo Stephen,
with respect - it seems to me that only idiots are working at your IT ;)... It is absolutely useful to work with "service accounts" created within the domain. That's the only way to manage and control accounts!
If you want to "pass through" the identity of the web user (SSO) you have to check whether the app pool is set to "allow impersonate". As far as I understand the ApplicationPoolIdentity-function the app pool will create a unique user named as the service.
I assume that will not work with the connection to the sql server because this user is unknown.
Local Service will not work because it's restriction is located to the local machine.
Network Service will work because access to network resources will be available.
So my recommendation is to use a dedicated service account or impersonation:

• How do I use the Web Services API to query orders?

The help doc states, "you can retrieve details for purchases including products purchased, payments received, and their status." The only additional info is at the link to eCommerce-Related Web Service, which does not include any information about retrieving "products purchased, payments received, and their status."

Hey if you read over that again you have two links, the other is this one:

• Web Service deployed with admin_client is not working

Hi,
I'm usung SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 and Eclipse WTP 3.2.2.
The thing is that I developed a Web Service with Eclipse using the plugin for generating web services. Then I exported my project to a .war file from eclipse as well.
For deploy my web service in oc4j, I tried from the oc4j console in Applications --> Deploy and Next-Next wizard and using the .war file generated by Eclipse. I got the application deployed and I can check that the wsdl is working in http://localhost:8888/Hello_Web2/services/Hello?wsdl
But the main problem is when I try to deploy using the admin_client command tool running the command: java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://localhost/home oc4jadmin welcome1 -deploy -file d:\TEMP\Hello_Web.war -deploymentName Web5 -contextRoot "/". Everything seems right, I can see the application created in the console, but when I try to access to the web service using "http://localhost:8888/Hello_Web2/services/Hello?wsdl" I get and Http 404.
What is wrong with the command method?
Many thanks in Advance,
Alberto

Hi,
As the custom web part works well in other browsers, the issue may be related to the IE itself.
Have you tried the methods below?
Use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
Add the site into Trusted sites to check whether it works.
Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites->add the site into the zone
What’s more, you can also switch the Document mode to IE 10 or lower to check whether it works.
Thanks & Regards,
