I got 2 problem with that:
1. VO can join multiple tables, and the attribute's validation rules may reference to the fields from multiple entities.
2. Since the EO Validation Rules only execute before the data actually write to entity (Commit operation). But user may need to input data from multiple pages with only 1 commit.

Samson FuJust something to point out, the EO validation doesn't fire on a commit (if you mean commit as in the database/AppModule commit). You can also access VO information from the EO validation rules by using view accessors.

How to hide system related info (J2EE Engine, JVM, OS) from View Source
Hi Experts,
We are developing an external facing webdynpro application for our customers. When i right click on webdynpro application in browser and select View Source , it is showing all system specific information such as DC names including model DC , JVM , System OS information (below is exact details).
I believe this will give enough information for Hackers to know about system with out much efforts. Is there any we can avoid showing this information part of browser view source.

I have the same behavior here. Prod is showing all this info. I assume this is some variable that we need to setup in Prod J2EE. Could you please tell me what is it?
Also, would that change the stack trace? - Currently, we have WDP dumps in Prod, something that I would get rid off (and have just a 500 error page defined).

Validation Rule to prevent duplicate posting of invoices
Hi All,
I am proposing to use the Reference field as the field for my Invoice Number in my FB60 and FB70 postings. I need to set up a validation rule to ensure that previously posted invoices are prevented from being reposted (i.e. prevent invoice posting duplication). This field is BKPF-XBLNR.
Can someone please help me to define the validation rule to use in preventing this from happening.

Double invoice check works as below in standard SAP--
System will check the below fields-
1.Invoice date
2.Amount
3.Reference
If all three above are identical it will throw an error message if masterdata of a vendor is ticked for double invoice check. If any one of the above will mismatch it will not give error message.
If you wish to check as per reference field only then you need to use Validation.
But you cannot write a simle logic in check , you need to use user exit.Where ABAPER has to write code for this.
Write prerequisite as per your requirement , like company code and transaction code.
then in check use user exit. Which user exit is to be used , that you can ask your ABAPER also and you can try the exit suggested in above answers also.

Simple creation of Update Rule from BW Data Source
Hi guys,
Pertaining standard SAP Business Content extractors
I am referring to <b>InfoCube : 0PA_C01(Headcount and Personnel Actions)</b>
I am attempting to<u> create </u>an <b>Update Rule</b> from <b>Info Source : 0HR_PA_PA_1(Headcount)</b>
This <b>Info Source : 0HR_PA_PA_1(Headcount)</b> is connected to <b>BW Data Source</b>(Not R/3!) 0HR_PA_PA_1
I have created an Info Package for this Info Source and managed to get 15 records{In Contrast to my 68800 Records from Info Source : 0HR_PA_0(Employee)}
So, when I create an Update Rule to Connect <b>Info Cube: 0PA_C01(Headcount and Personnel Actions)</b> to <b>Info Source to Info Source : 0HR_PA_PA_1(Headcount)</b>, I get the following error
ERROR : <b>IC=0PA_C01 IS=0HR_PA_PA_1 error when checking the update rules</b>
Could you please also advice, why do I only get 15 records for Data Source 0HR_PA_PA_1 ?

Pay Grade's
This is because, this information is supplied by InfoSource : 0HR_PA_PA_1
But I don`t have an Update Rule for this InfoSource in my InfoCube : 0PA_C01
So, that's why I am attempting to create this additional Update Rule

How can I prevent a PDF file from being copied, printed or downloaded? Students should only be able to view the text and and not distribute it in any way.
You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend a LOT of money
on DRM protection. -
Unable to collect Update/Transfer rules Info & Data sources from BI content
Hi,
We are tyring to activate Infoprovider 0PY_CO2 from BI content by selecting the option - In data before. BI is unable to collect all corresponding objects such as Update rules, Info source, transfer rules and the data source for the selected Infoprovider. Only Info area and associated info objects are being collected for the installation.
We are experiencing same problem whilst acitvating most of the info providers. However, in some cases, either of these objects get activated but not all the necessary objects that feed data to the Infoprovider (cube or multi provider).
Also, Infopackages and Info object catalogs are not being collected for any objects activated/installed so fare from the BI content.
We are trying to activate BW 3.5 content on the BI 7.0 environment. BI Content release is 703 and support pack level is 008.
Kindly share any pointers to troubleshoot this probelm please.

For some Info providers, all associated info objects(including transfer & update rules and info source and data sources) are getting collected and got successfuly installed. But this is true for only 10% of the Info providers that we have installed so far.
Remaining all the objects, we are unable to proceed further.

Use a small trick...
Duplicate the Oracle view (right-click on it), edit and change from view to table.
Drag and drop the duplicate into the MS SQL Server model
In the interface, change the "Create target Option" to yes at IKM Options...
That is all!

Is their way to prevent a form data from being lost when a validation fails?
So I would use APEX_COLLECTION (there is some information in APEX documentation).
Read all data you need to keep after submit and save them to your collection. Then, if validation fails, show report with data not from base, but from your collection. You have to create process, which creates collection, and you need to modify your report definition to get data not only from DB but also from collection.

well... there are some apps where you can store your passwords and stuff, but they will not prevent people from opening you photos/emails and get nosy while you are not watching.

This issue got resolved.
SAP suggested to execute the program "FAGL_CORR_0001" for company code wise.
In ECC 5.00 from support pack 10 onwards two new fields has been added to table FAGLFLEXA. (earlier we are on support pack 9, recently we applied the latest support pack)
If we can execute the above program FAGL_CORR_0001, the two new fields will filled with relevant data and then we can able to use drill down option.

Goto Tcode SE11-> Create view -> ZH_T006-> Create database View . Now take ref. of existing view H_T006 and try to create exact view .Seek ABAPER help for the same.
Once ZH_T006 is activated , you may use it for your datasource creation activity.
Reason behind not allowing to use it as a view may be because of its type Help view.

After upgrade from TFS 2010 users cannot view source control
I recently did a in place of upgrade of TFS 2010 to TFS 2013. All of my users permissions stayed in tact. The users (contributors) cannot view any of the source control in either in VS 2010 or 2013. Since I am the administrator I

Please manually check the contributors group’s permissions on your TFS Source Control.
If you add a new user into your contributors group, this new user can access TFS Source Control correctly?
