Preview Form Shows during Crystal Report Loading Process
Hi,
I have a slight issue on the behaviour of my application of how the report is loaded to the user.
Within my application, I have a button that when pressed - shows the print preview form with the report displayed.
The issue I am having - is that in some scenarios - preview form is visible to the user - along with a black screen (presuming a large dataset is being called and rendered) and THEN the report will appear
Code - appears in sub-routine called RunReport
'Set up the printer
Call SetReportPrinter()
'Log into the report
Call LogonReport(mReportDocument, crConnectionInfo)
'Apply Parameters to the report
Call SetReportParameters()
CRViewer1.ReportSource = mReportDocument
Me.Show() ' where the form is presented to the user on screen
Is it possible for me to show the preview form to the user - with all results loaded and ready to be displayed - so there is no delay in presenting the results to the user.

This is a known issue, track number 5000005116. Last communication with R&D re. this issue was June 5th and they are still working on a resolution. Latest service packs appear to improve the behavior, but does not resolve the issue as such. Try SP 5 from here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100013876392008E/crxir2win_sp5.exe
Another possible work-around may be to export the report to rpt file format programmatically behind the scene (e.g.; would not see this), then view this exported report. It should display quickly as the report will be processed and with saved data.

Error in Preview and Print in Crystal Report Viewer 2.0.0.7 in Workstation
Hi Guys,
I am encountering a problem when clicking preview and print in Crystal Report Viewer 2.0.0.7. It returns an error
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately. Load report failed.
I already install the runtime crruntime_120_mlb, . net framework 3.5 sp1 and the add-on itself. The viewer is working properly in SAP Server. My version of SAP is SBO 2007 A SP00 PL10.
Regards,

Report Document not show on Crystal Report Viewer in C#
My program is modified from VB.NET. Now I struck with Crystal Report that Crystal Report Viewer didn't show Report Document.
Printing code is composed of two forms. One assign parameters and objects need. Other is Crystal Report Viewer form, CrystalReportForm. Last one run report by parameter from the first.
When run this code that it didn't found any error but the problem is no report show on Crystal Report Viewer on second form. It just blank Crystal Report Viewer. There arm't any message response.
Here is my code.
// report caller form.
private void Print()
CrystalReportForm rptForm = new CrystalReportForm();
string[] strtbl;
strtbl = new string[1];
string[] strqry;
strqry = new string[1];
// prepare var
string myqry;
string myrpt;
// Pass The Table That you used in the crystal Report
strtbl[0] = "r_receipts";
// Pass the Query
myqry = "SELECT * FROM r_receipts";
myrpt = "rptReceipts.rpt";
strqry[0] = myqry;
//Pass For Mdi True
rptForm.MdiParent = this.ParentForm;
rptForm.ViewReport(myrpt, strtbl, strqry, "");
//Parameter Value It is Optional
rptForm.Show();
// Crytal Report Viewer form.
public void ViewReport(string ReportName , string[] TableName, string[] QueryString , string Parameter = "")
//Me.MdiParent = mainpage;
if (TableName.Length != QueryString.Length )
MessageBox.Show("Passed Variable Are Not Correct", "Message", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
return;
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument rpt = new CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument();
CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer crv = new CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer();
crv.ActiveViewIndex = 0;
crv.BorderStyle = System.Windows.Forms.BorderStyle.FixedSingle;
crv.ToolPanelView = CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.ToolPanelViewType.None;
crv.Dock = System.Windows.Forms.DockStyle.Fill;
crv.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(0, 0);
crv.Name = "CrystalReportViewer";
MySqlDataAdapter at =new MySqlDataAdapter();
DataSet ds = new DataSet();
for (int i = 0; i < TableName.Length; i++)
at = GetDataAdeptor(QueryString[i]);
at.Fill(ds, TableName[i]);
string rptPath = "";
rptPath = Application.StartupPath + "\\" + ReportName;
rpt.Load(rptPath);
rpt.SetDataSource(ds);
if (Parameter != "")
rpt.SetParameterValue(0, Parameter);
crv.ReportSource = rpt;
crv.Refresh();
//CrystalReportViewer.DataBind();
//Me.Panel1.Controls.Add(CrystalReportViewer);
Panel panel1 = new Panel();
panel1.Controls.Add(crv);Hi Bhushan,
It's not yet fixed. My dataset (ds) can't bine to DataGridView as
DataGridView1.DataSource = ds
But it could do like this
DataGridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables[0];
When I bine to Crystal Report Viewer setdatasource
CrystalReportViewer1.setdatasource = ds.Tables[0];
It still not work, anyway you suggest let me in the right way. I very confuse the thing I fix to bine to DataGridView

Preview and print a Crystal report prompted for the sa password
Dear All,
Our customer has Crystal report add-on to be installed. When we Preview and print a Crystal report, we got a window prompted for the sa password. Even we type in a correct password, it still says wrong password...
Every time when I open my report in Crystal Basic 2008 on the server, then go database expert >> My connections >> click + in front of the connection name, it asks my sa password. I type in my password then save and close. Next time when I open the report and go my connections, I have to type in my password again. This only happens on one customer.
Any idea? Thanks a lot.
Regards,
YukaHi Yuka,
1) All their SAP client workstation, they have to have use SQL2008 CD and install SQL Client on it
Correct, MS does NOT support MDAC or WDAC when connecting to SQL 2008.
2) Then go ODBC >> SQL Native Client 10.0 >> Create a new connection to SAP server. Should we use sa user or another use that has the same authorization as sa?
Correct again if they are also using ODBC to connect, as for using the sa account or creating a new one is up to you. I suggest creating a Crystal account with what ever rights your app needs, this way if tracing it turned on etc. you can confirm who is actually running the report.
3) Then from MY Crystal report, I have to use ODBC connection as well?
Just to clarify, if you created your reprots using OLE DB then they can do so also. But you need to update your connection properties. Open each report click on Database, Set Location, scroll down to OLE DB and expand and then choose MS SQL Server Native 10 as your OLE DB provider, fill in all the logon info and then verify the database. Do the same for each subreport also.
Save your report and either send them the new one or if you are doing this remotely then replace the original report.
VERIFY your reports to confirm they still return correct data and do work as expected.
Or if you are using ODBC then yes you do select the MS 10 driver with a new DSN. Then do the above to update the reports to all use ODBC as their data sources.
Hope this is all clear now....
Thanks again

Problem showing the crystal report viewer in form after added the component on it
Greetings
I have a problem running a program. I created a form which I added the component Crystal Report Viewer perfecty but during program execution when I call that form my VS 2012 Ultimate show the following error:
Translated:
Failed to create the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. Error: An exception occurred in the type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils'.
Note: If I remove the component from the form. the applications runs fine when calling the form without the component CrystalReportViewer
It is something related to my VS? o just that the actual version 13.0.9 is not yet compatible?Report.Show?
How about you try:
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to your report>
Or:
Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
crReportDocument.Load(<path to your report>)
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
Or, if the report is added to the project:
crReportDocument = New test
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument

The process cannot access the file during Crystal Report export
We are exporting crystal reports into PDF using ExportToHttpResponse (code snippet below)
// Getting the type of the report file which has been selected by the user. (which will be REPORT CLASS type)
Type objType = Type.GetType("WebApplication1.Reports." + ReportName);
ReportClass SEPREport = (ReportClass)Activator.CreateInstance(objType);
// GetTypedDataSet()returns an instance of typed data set.
SEPREport.SetDataSource(GetTypedDataSet());
SEPREport.ExportToHttpResponse(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat, Response, true, ReportName );
Now we have created these REPORTS using Basic Crystal Report 10.5, which comes bundled with Visual Studio 2008 and .Net Framework 3.0.
Now on our machines, we have never experienced any issues.
BUT on the DEV server (web server) which has .net Framework 3.0 and in its GAC its has CRYSTAL DLLs version 11.5 (required to create an Object of ReportClass and its related functions) ; sometimes we get the following error while exporting crystal report to pdf:

Passing parameters from vb form to a crystal report with stored procedure
Can someone give me an idea how to use data inputted on vb form to be use as basis of crystal report generation which loads data from a stored procedure. Stored procedure has parameters that was also set in the crystal report. viewing on crystal report is ok but i am having difficulty running the report from vb.
Hi John,
If Not CRRpt.ParameterFields("AgeType") Is Nothing Then
CRRpt.ParameterFields("AgeType").CurrentValues.Clear()
Dim ParamValue As new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue
ParamValue.Value = AgeType.ToString
CRRpt.ParameterFields("AgeType").CurrentValues.Add(ParamValue)
End If
Note that the ParamValue.Value should be assigned with exact same data type as you declared it in CR.
If it is string, Convert your Variable to string first.
If it is date, make sure you are passing a date variable.
and so on...

Preview marketing document with Crystal Reports
Iu2019ve created a Crystal Report Lay-out for a sales order based on an empty report (I didnu2019t used a sap report as bases), how can I make it possible to get a layout preview before I save the sales order?
At the moment, the preview shows the latest saved sales order.Hi,
Are you trying to run this as a report or as a layout?
Assuming you are using SAP 8.8 on 8.81, you can publish the report as a layout in General Setting.
Now, for it to pick up the right documents, you need to have parameter field DocKey@ in it, so that when you are in Sales Order, it will print the details of the current orders.
I would suggest you have a look at SAP B1 Document Resource Centre for more details on how crystal report is worked within SAP B1. -

Using VS2008. Crystal Reports 2008.
I have a .net application which uses LINQ. I am required to integrate existing Crystal reports into the web site.
In my web config file i have my connection string set up
<add name="connection Name" connectionString="Data Source=ServerName;Initial Catalog=database;uid=username;password=Password;Integrated Security=SSPI" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
and also I have set the authentication as follows:
<authentication mode="Windows"/>
<identity impersonate="true" userName="username" password="password"/>
I need the impersonation for when I deploy my app to the server.
The crystal report uses an existing connection set up when the report was created. So this is not tied to a LINQ table (i think this may be the problem).
I have no clue how to progress from here. When I try to change the datasource location to the LINQ table within the application, it won't map properly as the table contains nullable values.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
LouiseHi,
That particular problem with 'Load Report Failed' was happening because the identity impersonation account I had set up did not have rights to my TEMP folder on my machine. Crystal needs to be able to read and write to that folder.
I hope that helps you.

Experts,
I am getting the following error, while clicking on a button to load crystal report.
Could not load file or assembly
'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=12.0.2000.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I am running it through ard at client server, In my own machine it is running fine.
I have tried installing Crystal Report basic run time for VS 2008, still same. Please help.Any suggestions Experts?

Cannot preview or render a Crystal Report on production machine
My dev machine is Win 7, Sql Express 2008, VS 2008, CR 10 (CR engine 15.5.3700). I am able to successfully preview the report in VS as well as get it rendered in an ASP.NET page.
However, after the web app was deployed to a Win 2003 machine, Sql Exterprise 2008, (with VS 2008/CR 10 and same CR engine), I got the following error in the ASP.NET page:
Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {5FF57840-5172-4482-9CA3-541C7878AE0F} failed due to the following error: 80070005.
I did everything suggested on all web pages on Google search for this error: Granted full control permissions to User as well as Windows Temporary directory to "Everyone" account, uninstalled and reinstalled the Crystal Reports 2008 merge module.
Then, I tried something different altogether. I opened the report in VS 2008, and clicked the Preview button on the bottom of the page. After filling in the parameters, I got the infamous "The Visual Basic UFL that implements this function is missing or U2lcom.dll" error. Again tried everything a Google search threw up for this error, including trying to register U2lcom.dll manually using regsrv32 (which failed saying no entry path found), giving full control to everyone on "C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\2.8\bin", and searching BusinessObjects for CR 10 UFLs (which I was unable to find).
Now, having done all this, I lastly reverted to forums for help. So, any ideas or pointers to the problem resolution would be appreciated.Then, I have some Name Not found errors on Query Open & RegEnumValue operations:
