Previous/Next Button Tag

In RoboHelp HTML, is it possible to add something like Main /
Previous / Next button in header / top of each topic, rather than
using the Browse Sequence.
I'm using other HAT previously, but switch to RoboHelp
recently, would like to get it back. :) Thanks in advance.

As it happens I am investigating something like this right
now, having found several problems with the Browse Sequence
mechanism.
It isn't too much work if you plan it carefully. Here's how I
did it.
I made a couple of small images (actually I grabbed the
Back/Forward buttons from Explorer) and inserted them into one
topic, at the end of the Heading 1 which starts each topic. I set
Image_Properties > Text_Wrapping to "Right" so that they appear
in the top right-hand corner of each topic. Note that if you do
this, you must insert the Right arrow first, then a space, then the
Left arrow (without the space, RoboHelp only allowed one link for
both images). I then added a screen tip to the image "Next/Previous
in sequence". Then I added hyperlinks.
After this I was able to select both images, and use
Copy/Paste to add them to all topics. When you double-click, you
get the hyperlink properties dialog, and can correct the links. I
arranged my screen so that the relevant part of the ToC was open on
the screen, so I could see where I was in the sequence.
Of course this is a PITA and error-prone, but testing is
relatively easy, if you have Auto-synchronize_TOC in Window
Properties. The buttons are always in the same place, so you can
just click repeatedly while watching the ToC.
Success!

  • Toolbar Navigation - Previous/Next button enhanced script

    I've found a few topics on how to add the standard skin back/next script to a skin, for that I thank everyone.  I would like to take it to the next level and make it behave even more like browser buttons meaning when a user has never navigated to a 2nd topic the Back button is unavailable (gray), when they have navigated to multiple topics the button is available (blue). Same for the next button.
    Standard script:
    For back:
    javascript:history.go(-1);
    For next:
    javascript:history.go(1);
    Any ideas?
    I believe I saw it somewhere before and now I can't find it.

    Hi there
    When you say: This is being used in a CHM that was converted from a Webhelp in RH10, does that mean you are using the feature in RH10 where you are now able to use the CHM as a wrapper in order to present a single .CHM file that presents a skinned WebHelp?
    Or are you instead saying that you are now creating CHM output and used to create WebHelp?

  • Playlists and the previous/next buttons

    Once again, Encore proves to be difficult to work with. I have a bunch of m4v and matching ac3 files that I want to put into Encore to create a Blu-ray. However, I cannot place them all in a timeline and be done with it. Because of the null space at the beginning and/or end of the ac3 files, Encore insists on rebuilding them (to stereo instead of 5.1).
    One thing I read as a workaround was to use a playlist. I tried that, and set the end action for each timeline to go to the next timeline. Works swell. However, there is no way to go to a previous timeline since each timeline acts like a seperate item on the disc and not as part of a whole movie. Is there a way around this? Is there a way to get items in a playlist to act like a complete movie instead of individual items?
    I know another option is to just have one long ac3 file for the whole movie (as well as one long m4v video file), but this isn't really convenient. I like that Encore will tell me how much space is left on the disc as I drop items into timelines; creating one long video and audio file will leave me guessing at how long the move can be and will involve trial and error. On top of that, I will have to scrub through the whole timeline and manually add chapter marks (this is how I did it on my first project). It is a pain.
    There has to be a way to use multiple ac3 files in Encore for a movie without them getting transcoded while having all the clips act as one complete movie instead of individual items. At least I hope there is a way...

    Thanks for the replay. I guess what I will do is render all my video clips, drop them in Encore, and stop when I get within a couple of gigs of the disc limit. Then in premiere I will put all the clips together and render out the audio, and then drop the one audio file in Encore.
    I know adding chapter markers in Encore is not hard, but it is tedious when you have one long video file and you have to scrub through the whole thing to add them.
    Is there another program that will let me use multiple ac3 files in a timeline and keep them as 5.1?

  • [ Previous]  [Next ]  and Sort Order

    Is there a way to make HTMLDB generate report and edit form in such way that [< Previous] [Next>] sequence on follows the reports SORT ORDER instead of PK ?
    e.g. a report on EMP and user sort on HIREDATE...
    so when user gets linked to Edit Form page and click Previous/Next buttons - the USER, totally oblivious to PK - from his perspective, he expects to see [< Previous], [Next>] brings up the Previous/Next record PER SORT ORDER

    Robert - I think it's supposed to work the way you
    want it to. Are you using the column sort options on
    the report attributes page?Scott,
    No, it's not doing that...
    Just now generated app on EMP - all default except no aggregations and sum to keep it simple.
    Test#1)
    Click HIREDATE column to sort DESC.
    KING
    MARTIN
    TURNER
    Click MARTIN record to edit. PREV/NEXT follows EMPNO order
    JONES
    MARTIN
    BLAKE
    Test#2) went into "Report Attributes"
    Under "Sort": Uncheck all except HIREDATE and made
    "Sort Sequence" = '1 desc'
    Result is same as Test#1

  • How can I get next button in preview app

    Hi,
    How can I use next button in preview app. Means in one folder I have 10 photos and I want to open each photo to view in preview app. Or any other options to use the next button , plz help
    Yas

    If you open all 10 at once in Preview, they will open together and there will be a filmstrip along the side for navigation.
    Or, if you select all 10 in the Finder and simply open QuickLook (File/QuickLook or press spacebar shortcut), you will see Previous/Next buttons in the top left corner without having to open any programs.

  • Captivate 8 - Next Button Works Only After Viewing Slide

    How do I make a Continue button work only after the viewer has viewed the entire slide?
    I also want the viewer to be able to skip ahead instantly through slides they have already viewed.
    Thanks.
    - Jason

    Let me show you what I'm trying to create here. Sorry I need specific instructions since I'm a newbie to Captivate and not familiar with conditions and advanced actions.
    I am currently using normal buttons (not a shape button) to create my PREVIOUS & NEXT buttons. Based on your advice I will switch to shape buttons.
    "It could be done with a conditional advanced/shared action on Enter of each slide. You'll need a user variable per slide, a Boolean, that you change on the first visit from a default value of 0 to 1, after having checked its value."
    What specifically do I select for the "On Enter" of each slide?
    And do I only need to put this condition in the "On Enter" section of each slide? Or do I also need to setup special conditions for the NEXT button?
    Thanks.

  • ITunes Store App: Previous next song not working

    I noticed that the previous and next track buttons are not working after selecting the play button under purchased items in the iTunes Store app and switching to the Music app. (confusing complicated concept if you ask me).
    I can choose another track of a purchased album by selecting it from the list (top right icon) but the previous / next buttons at the bottom bring me back to my music library with a search field.
    THANK you!

  • Firefox can't find the file at (a location is specified) when either "Navigate previous" (and next) buttons are pressed in an HTML5 skin (but OK in IE/Chrome).

    I create HTML5 help projects from a package called MadCap Flare. It uses what they call an HTML5 'skin' that sets the style/layout of the page and also includes 'Navigate previous' and 'Navigate next' buttons. When viewing the help and pressing these navigate buttons in IE8 or Chrome 32 there is no problem, but in Firefox 27 I get the following: (typical error for pressing a button on any page)
    "File not found"
    "Firefox can't find the file at /C:/SVN/FlareEnglishOnLineHelp/Output/HTML5_Help_Modeller_Reference/4attrib/idh_jointinterface_element_meshes.htm?TocPath=Modeller Reference Manual|Chapter 5 : Model Attributes|Meshing|_____2."
    " Check the file name for capitalisation or other typing errors."
    " Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted."
    - Because the files and buttons work in other browsers I'm wondering just what is going on here with Firefox>>>>

    I should correct that last entry and state that the | charactacters are generated automatically in the Toc-Path for each 'book' name in the online help, and are not something manually created, whereas the : characters have come from the TOC book topic names (which were manually entered names and are what we would ideally require). But, because 'previous' and 'next' topics within nested TOC books without colon (:) characters CAN be browsed successfully when just | characters are present in the Toc-Path, the limitation would appear to be solely due to the : characters.

  • First/Previous/Next/Last buttons not working in Applications Master Detail

    Jdeveloper version: fusiondrop5primeb26
    accessed through appstta.oraclecorp.com
    I attempted to create an Applications Master Detail UI by selecting Applications : Master Detail from the Applications Component Palette. I created the UI using my headers table (APPLCORE_SHIPMENT_HEADERS) as the master and the lines table (APPLCORE_SHIPMENT_LINES) as the detail. The master is shown as a form and the details are displayed as a table below. On the screen with the checkboxes to include First, Previous, Next, Last buttons, I checked all of them.
    On the backend, my headers table has two rows.
    When I ran the page:
    1. When the page comes up, it shows the data for shipment header 1 and the associated details in the table below. This is correct.
    2. However, the First and Previous buttons are enabled at the top. They should not be enabled since I am on the first record, and there is no previous record. This is incorrect.
    3. When I click Next, the data does not update to the the next header record (shipment header 2). The data is still for shipment header 1. This is incorrect.
    4. When I click Next once more, an Error window pops up:
    Messages for this page are listed below.
    ShipmentLineId     Error java.lang.NullPointerException
    ShipmentHeaderId Error java.lang.NullPointerException
    LineNumber Error java.lang.NullPointerException
    ItemName Error java.lang.NullPointerException
    (same error is shown for all other columns in the lines table)
    I was under the impression that we do not need to do anything special for the First/Previous/Next/Last buttons to work, other than checking the boxes in the page creation process.
    The application in question is here:
    /home/sheyu/jdevhome/descflexdemo/.
    The ui project specifically is in this folder:
    /home/sheyu/jdevhome/descflexdemo/mywork/descflexdemo/ui/
    I have tried to start from scratch several times to no avail. Please advise.
    Thanks,

  • Can't figure out the AC to use for my "Previous" and "Next" buttons

    Hi guys,
    I have a slidshow that stretches over 280 frames which can be
    seen here:
    http://www.paragon-nj.com/newslideshow.html
    or the fla:
    http://www.paragon-nj.com/newslideshow.fla
    There are fade ins and outs and I made buttons numbered 1-5
    where you can skip to each new slide. At present I am trying to
    create the "previous" and "next" buttons but I'm hitting a snag of
    how you make something like this work. The entire AC I have is
    this:
    a.onRelease=function(){
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    b.onRelease=function(){
    gotoAndPlay(55);
    c.onRelease=function(){
    gotoAndPlay(110);
    d.onRelease=function(){
    gotoAndPlay(165);
    e.onRelease=function(){
    gotoAndPlay(220);
    next_btn.onRelease = function () {
    (not sure what to put here) ;
    previous_btn.onRelease = function () {
    (not sure what to put here) ;
    Thanks in advance for all the input
    Wil

    use the _currentframe+55 for your next button and
    _currentframe-55 for your previous button unless the current frame
    is 1 or 55 when you were inconsistant used 54 frames between slide
    transitions.

  • Webhelp: how to add a Previous and Next button

    I'm using Robohelp 8 and generating Webhelp on a Windows XP machine. The output displays on IE by default.
    My problem is simple: In my Webhelp output, I want a Previous and Next button to appear at the top of each topic. That's all. But I don't see how to set this.
    I don't want to create browse sequences; if select topic B, and I've already opened topic D and Z, I should be able to click the Previous button to go from topic D -> topic B, or the Next button to go from topic Z to topic B.
    Also, how do I open my Webhelp output so that the TOC is open (i.e., all topics are displayed so you don't have to click books to open. Thanks for any help.
    Len

    Hi!
    I found this topic as a search I did for also including Back and Forward buttons into a pop-up help page and have found it very helpful and useful, thanks.
    I am currently using RH 10, do you know of anything withine RH 10 that can be used to do this for us?
    I was also wondering if you might be able to help with a further query I have regarding these buttons:
    Currently, when a user clicks the help button within the web based software, the topic associated to that page will be displayed in a pop-up screen. The Help Menu is not displayed and there is no URL field displayed with a Back and Forward button. If the user clicks a link from this help page to another help page, there is no way of getting them back to the previous page without closing the page and then clicking the help button again.
    The requirement is to have Back and Forward buttons added to the help pages that remembers the history of where the user has been rather than moving them up and down the contents. (This part of the requirement I have now fixed with the help of your response to this initial query.) -  The buttons need to be hidden or inactive if there is no history associated, then becoming active or seen if the user has clicked a link. See the following:
    Click a help button on a required software page – help detects that there is no history and therefore the Back and Forward buttons are not required and are not displayed/enabled (not active).
    IF the user clicks a link on the displayed help, then on the new page of help the Back button will display/enable but not the Forward button as there is no more help been opened from this page (yet).
    If the user then clicks the Back button, the user is taken back to the previous page that was displayed. However, it notices that there is no more history beyond this page and the Back button either disappears or disables (becomes inactive).
    IF the user clicks another link from the second page, this would be the third page of help displayed. The Back button would be displayed/enabled but the Forward button would not be displayed or set as inactive.
    IF the user clicks the Back button from the third page, page 2 would have both Back and Forward buttons active/displayed.
    This would continue with each link to new pages, i.e. the history would recognise the first opened page of help and recognise that there is not anything in front of the new page that has been opened.
    This logic should also work if the user has opened the full help, selected a topic from the menu and then clicked a link from that opened page. The Back button would be displayed/enabled so that the user would be able to go back to the previous page they were on. Same with the Forward button.
    I hope this all makes sense. I wonder if you might be able to point me in the right direction or if this is something that I should talk to our web developer about?
    Many thanks,
    Nicola
