Price indicator - 004 plan & 008 Actual

Hi Experts,
I have checked the documentation for price indicator and understand that price indicator 004 and 008 are active when we activate purely iterative in CO version maintainance.
Now my question is how can we select 004 while planning and how system select 008 and how system perform calculation for plan and actual.
I would like to you the system calculation for Actual if 008 is price indicator.
Thanks
Raj

Hi Surya
Take F1 help at 'Variance value....... (on actual price indicator) It says :
008 (Selecting version maintenance):The actual price of the activity type is caluclated purely iteratively. If you activate the indicator
Purely iterative price
in the version, the R/3 System calculates an iterative price along with the price resulting from planning

  • Activity prices in KP26 used for actual and plan in version 0

We plan activity prices via KP26 in version 0. We then plan activity consumption via KP06, and run the plan reconciliation via KPSI.
During the year, we need to update the activity prices used in actual activity allocation. This price also comes from version 0.
When we change the activity price, the planned amounts change also. We are looking for a way to maintain a separate price for actual activity allocation.

    Ajay,
Your answer definitely sent me down the right path...thank you!
For other's benefit, these are the steps I took to make this work:
    1) set the "Purely Iter. Price" indicator in plan version 0
    2) import planning layout 1-N01 from client 000 (OBKF)
    3) add planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" to planning layout SAPALL (KP34)
    4) add planning layout 1-N01 to planner profile SAPALL (KP34)
    5) create and run custom program from note 551309 to add cost element field to the input screen in KBK6 (SE38)
    6) transport planning layout for planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" (OKEX)
Now we can plan a price in KP26, and maintain a different price in KBK6 which is used in the actual activity allocation.
    Thanks again,
    Linda

  • Actual price calculation - acutal price indicator KSII

    Hi Friends
I am trying to calculate actual price (KSII) and am getting the following message.
All activity prices are manually entered
    Message no. KP211
    Diagnosis
All activity prices in controlling area 1000, fiscal year 2009, and version 0 were determined and set as manually entered prices.
In actual price calculation, all plan activity prices, meaning those calculated automatically (activity price indicator 1 and 2) and those set manually (activity price indicator 3), are treated as if they have been set manually.
    System Response
The SAP System cannot calculate activity prices automatically.
    Processing is cancelled.
    Procedure
Check your activity type planning. To calculate the activity price automatically, you must set the activity price indicator accordingly.
Pl suggest what the actual price indicator should be in activity master data
I am putting 5 there (after some actual data is posted) but it is not working. it is still giveing the above error and not calculating the actual price.
    Pl suggest the way out.
    Regards,

    Hi,
In activity type creation check whether you maintained activity category as "1" and actual price indicator as"5"

  • Price in Service Plan

    Hi ,
How to maintain and Determine the price in Service Plan (Contract dependent).
I have used an item category SPLA,and service plan product. Maintained the price in product conditions tab.
But in Contract line item, there is no Conditions tab and also no Net value is displayed.
    Appreciate any help,
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Please check whether the item category SPLA is having the "Pricing Indicator" - Active or not. As per standard for Service Plan Business category - its Inactive.
Also check for the pricing determination.

  • Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

    Hi!
As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
    whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.
    regs,
    ramesh

    Hi,
Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
    RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /-  = 100
    Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /-  = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
    Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
    Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
    Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.

  • Price indicator

Any one pls explain me about price indicator .Normaly externaly procure materials means we are maintain 'V" price indicator.and inhouse production " s" indicator .
apart from this, any other reason is there ?
In case of sub contracting materials means  we have to maintain "s " or " v".
Pls explain  me about MOVING AVG PRICE & STANDARD PRICE.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Standard Price Indicator 'S" is used generally in case of Semi-finished ( HALB) / Finished Goods ( FERT) because generally for these type of products Price is likely to remain almost same for longer periods of time.
Moving Average Price Indicator "V" is used in case of Raw materials ( ROH) because their prices are varying in nature. So their price is maintained as Moving Average Price.
Pls. find more details about both the types of prices as below:
    Standard Price
    Use
The standard price is a valuation procedure in which the current valuation is never affected by goods movements or settlements.
The inventory price as the standard price is set explicitly by a separate function and remains valid until replaced by a new price.
    Prerequisites
    You have implemented Inventory Accounting.
    Features
Inventory receipts and issues are always valuated with the current inventory price. If the value of the business transaction differs from the standard price, the difference is posted to a price difference account.
No actual costs are allocated to the cost objects by goods movements or settlements. This is known as standard costing. The standard costs are compared with the target costs to determine the variances.
    Moving Average Price
    Use
The moving average price (MAP) is a valuation procedure where the inventory price can change as a result of certain business transactions (goods receipts, GR/IR clearing with externally procured materials, and WIP clearing with materials manufactured in-house).
    Prerequisites
    You have implemented Inventory Accounting.
You have specified for each material that its inventory price can change like a moving average price.
    Features
With the MAP valuation procedure, the external values of the business transactions are assigned to the inventory objects.
    ·        Inventory receipts
The quantity and value of the inventory receipt are added to the existing inventory. Then a new MAP is calculated based on the relationship between the new inventory quantity and the inventory value. Inventory receipts therefore affect the price.
    ·        Settlements
Settlement differences are assigned to the inventory. This depends on the stock coverage. Settlements only change the inventory value, never the inventory quantity. Settlements therefore always affect the price.
    ·        Inventory issues
Inventory issues reduce the inventory value by the value of the issued inventory. If this results in a new price/quantity relationship, the price is adjusted accordingly. Inventory issues rarely use an external value but are normally valuated with the current value/quantity ratio of the inventory object, in other words the current moving average price. For this reason most inventory issues do not affect the price when the moving average price procedure is used.
To keep the price consistent, the valuation procedure needs to change whenever the business transaction encounters unusual situations or missing stock coverage. The following unusual situations are possible:
    ·        Negative inventory value and negative inventory quantity
Inventory quantities can become negative if the system settings allow it.
    ·        Document and transaction reversals
    ·        Pure value postings
Pure value postings normally have base quantities but preserve the quantity situation in inventory. Due to time lags, value postings with high base quantities can encounter low inventory quantities. To protect inventory values from being distorted in such cases, a stock coverage check is performed in which the invoice quantity is compared with the current inventory quantity.
    ·        Posting to a prior period
Postings to a prior period change the current inventory quantity, value, and moving average price, as well as the inventory quantity, value, and price of the prior period.
Hope this helps clearing your doubt.
    Award points if useful.

    Tejas

  • Planned vs Actual Cost Report (with variance) for PM Orders

    Hi Experts,
We are using the project system to collate order costs for annual shut work.  We have a requirement for a report to show 25% variance between planned and actual order costs (maintneance order).
At this stage, we dont mind whether this is implemented in the the PM system, or the PS system.
This is a fairly basic / common requirment.  Are there any standard transactions we could use to:
    1.  Select a list of orders using standard selection criteria.
    2.  Select a % for variance, e.g. 25%
    3.  Display a list of orders where the planned vs actual costs were greater than 25% and what the actual variance is for each order?
    Thanks,
    Maikel

    Hi Maikel,
I have never seen any such scenario, but the best thing that can come to me is for the shut down activities you muct have created a Revision, then based on that Revision you can take a dump of all the orders with Planned and Actual Cost, in the excel, and there by putting the formulae you can definitely have the Varience report.
    Hope it helps you.

  • How to differentiate b/w Plan and actual data

    Hi,
How to differentiate b/w plan nad actual data.
Is that value type or Version InfoObject??
What should be the value for that and how it gets populated ??
    Regards,

    Hello Tapan,
The plan and actual data is differentiated on the basis of value of infoobject 0VTYPE. Value 10 is for actual. Different plan versions can be differentiated by different values of infoobject 0VERSION.
These values are populated when actual data is loaded or plan data is entered.
    Hope it helps.

  • Plan Vs Actual report in PS

    Gurus,
New in SAP PS module, appreciate your advice on the PS Plan Vs Actual cost reporting.
What kind of standard extractor should we use in order to extract the Plan cost entered in PS?
What kind of standard extractor shoud we use in order to extract the Plan cost enter?
I would assum that we need to have to InfoCube where one will keep the actual and one will keep the plan cost?
Then we build the multiprovider on top of this in order to report the Plan Vs Actual.
    Kindly advice, thanks!

If I recall correctly, you can use 0PS_C04.
This cube contains actuals, plan, commitments...
Take a look at the business content for  this.

  • Best practice for Plan and actual data

Hello, what is the best practice for Plan and actual data?  should they both be in the same app or different?
    Thanks.

    Hi Zack,
It will be easier for you to maintain the data in a single application. Every application needs to have the category dimension, mandatorily. So, you can use this dimension to maintain the actual and plan data.
    Hope this helps.

  • Plan and Actual at WBS Elements without activities

    Hi Experts,
I am in need of a small help from you. My scenario is like this:
    I have equipments/material as WBS Elements( Level1,2...). I have no activities/materials.
I planned the costs using CJ40 and Budgeted using CJ30 and confirmed all the WBS Elements by entering actual dates for the same.
Now i want to see planned/actuals costs in report. When i checked in one standard report it is showing 0 for both planned and actuals.
I also want to have a brief step-by step procedure for Project with only WBS Elements, i.e., from Initiation to Settlement.
Can anyone please help me in this regard.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Suresh.D.

The following is in answer to
"I also want to have a brief step-by step procedure for Project with only WBS Elements, i.e., from Initiation to Settlement."
Most probable scenario would consist of following steps
Create PDef - Create WBS (either copying from template or manually) - Plan costs - Roll up planned costs - Budget (at top level) - Budget distribute - budget Release - WBS release - Post actual costs - run cost / revenue variance report - settle costs against the WBS - TECO project - Close Project.
I believe I haven't missed on any important aspect.
Would appreciate inputs from others in this effort.
    Hope this information was useful.

    Pradyumna
