Primary Line Change

Forgive me if this has been asked before. My wife and I have a Family Share Plan (>49.99 per month) and hers is the primary line. She recently upgraded using her NE2 discount. I am eligible for an upgrade in May. Would making my line the Primary line allow me to upgrade any sooner?

  • Change Primary Line

I have a family share plan with three phones on it. I am the owner of the account but some how when I added a line it became the primary one and mine is no longer it. I get a discount on plans and data packages at work but only for the primary line. How can I change the primary line back to my number?

Dial *611 from your phone and ask a representative to make the switch.  You can also take care of this in store.

  • Always Use Primary Line / Auto Line Select CM 4.1(3)sr3c

Is it correct that the "Always Use Primary Line" system parameter and the phone device page "Auto Line Select" setting work together to affect a phone's off-hook behavior for incoming calls? I changed the Always Use Primary Line from the default (False to True) to change the behavior and force primary line only when the phone goes off-hook. When I then enabled Auto Line Select on the 7960G, I expected to reverse this global setting for that device only. But, that did not happen. In fact, no matter how Always Use Primary Line is set (True or False), the device page setting Auto Line Select (enable or disable) does not appear to cause any change at all. Has anyone else encountered this? If changing the Service Parameter takes effect without restarting callmanagers, wouldn't resetting the phone device force the change on the device page to take effect? Or, do I not understand the relationship between these two settings?

Auto Line Select comes into play when you are already on the phone and you have a new incoming call on another line, then should the focus change to that new ringing line so it can show you the caller-id or should the focus be on the active line. Depending on this, the softkeys and everything change on your screen and you don't have to press the line button to see all the keys.
Always use Prime Line is primary used when the phone goes off-hook. This determines if you want to go off-hook on the primary line all the time or not. If you choose to always use primary line, then everytime you go
off-hook, we use the first line on the phone and it does not matter if there is a call ringing on another line.
If its set to false, then when you go off-hook, it will go off hook on a line which is ringing and not your primary line.

  • Deleting line/changing plan to individual

    Help me!
I made the big mistake of adding a boyfriend to my phone plan.  Of course things did not work out!
I need to deactivate his phone and change my plan from a family plan to an individual plan.
What do I need to do to acheive this?
    Thanks!!!

You can cancel his line simply by calling in to CS (dial *611 from your cell phone) and requesting it.  If his line is the primary line, you will want to switch yours to the primary first, because if you cancel the primary line, they will sometimes try to cancel all the lines on the account.
Be aware that each line has its own contract, so you will owe an ETF for his line if it is still under contract.  His phone will also stop working and he will lose his number.  If he wants to keep the number, you should do an Assumption of Liability (go with him to the store, or call Verizon together) to transfer the line into his name.  If you do the AoL, you will not owe an ETF.  If he wants to port his number, you will owe the ETF, but he needs to do the port first, before his line is cancelled.

  • Upgraded primary line, phone not connected yet, want to use phone on 2nd line instead

I renewed my primary line (new every 2) and received a Convoy today. My husband doesn't want to use this phone and wants to stick with the Boulder which is the current phone on the primary line. How can I activate the new phone for my secondary line (which is on a month to month basis ie no contract basis, but not a prepaid phone)? A Verizon support person told me I could do this if we didn't want to use the Convoy on the primary line. I hope she was right.
    Thanks!

She would have been correct. If you dial 1-877-807-4646, punch in your husband's number when it requests it (it may request the account's password/last 4 of SSN as well). There will be an automated system that will ask you to accept the Terms & Conditions for the upgrade that was done on your husband's line. Note: this will extend the contract on your husband's line by 2 yrs which is a result of you getting the new phone at discounted pricing, but it will not effect your line's contract at all. Once you say you agree (by pressing option 1) it will ask if you would like to activate this device on your husband's line now. You're going to choose the option to do it later meaning you will not be activating it on your husband's line. Once it confirms your selection, you will hang up.
Before you activate the phone on your line, make sure your contacts are backed up from your previous phone so you can transfer them to the new one. Backup Assistant, a free app offered by BUA, will be excellent for this purpose. Once everything is backed up, you will first want to turn off your old phone and then dial *228 from the new phone (choose option 1). When it asks for you to input a number, you want to enter yours and then it will ask you to enter the account's password/last 4 of SSN. Afterwards it will activate the new phone on your line. You would just need to re-download BUA and follow the prompts to transfer the contacts. Then you'll be all set!

  • Why did my audio & video lines change colors?

I was working in a sequence when suddenly all my lines changed colors on me. The audio and video lines are the exact same shade of blue and its very disorienting. Even after I  alter an audio clip in Audition the colors don't change. I've tried quitting, restarting my mac, opening older projects... I can't get the original colored lines back. Is this some new software update? How do I get the different colored lines back?

Okay let me rephrase. The color change is weird but not a major issue. The major issue is that my audio waveforms aren't being displayed anymore.
Even after I expand that audio line theres no waveform... I need to see where my audio is peaking. Any idea whats going on or how to fix?

  • How to set primary line...

    Hello,
I'm currently using a PAP2T with the two lines enabled.  I would like to configure the adapter so that all incoming calls will only come to one of the lines.  Is this possible?  How do I do this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Line1 - register YES, call without registration NO (YES is also possible, but NO will cause no dialtone when registration fails), IP dialing YES
=> primary line, this one will be ringing one as sendng "regstration" makes the VoIP provider aware of the "alive" device and where to send "calls"
=> register YES makes it a "primary" line, call without registration NO makes dialtone on this line only appears when device is registerred.
Line2 - register NO, call without registration YES, IP dialing YES
=> secondary line, not ringing on incomming calls, VoIP operator will not "know" about this line except if it's calling
=> register NO makes it a "secondary" line, call without registration YES makes dialtone sound on this line anytime and allows calls
    =================
=> IP dialing YES is not related to your problem, it's only handy "nice_to_have" feature allowing adapter/YOU to call IP address of another
similar VoIP adapter/VoIP phone on any IP address it can directly reach ... without involving VoIP operator ... and thus free
(this works for adapters in same network, and/or for adapter sitting on public IP addresses or with port redirects from public IP addresses)
this can be useffull for friends - your friend has to tell you what his/her IP address/port is ... and you can call.
For example, to call "number" 55577923 on IP address 86.97.108.209 port 5061 you will dial this on your phone :
55577923*86*97*108*209*5061 ... (in fact, you call sip:[email protected]:5061) - if such an adapter with
the given number shall be connected on the mentioned IP address and set SIP port to 5061, the adapters will talk directly.

  • Primary Line Early Upgrade (in regards to amazonwireless and such)

Ok, so I looked through a few pages and found several upgrade questions, but not one like this, specifically. Unless I missed it, which is entirely possible.
My phone is the primary line, and I'm available for an actual upgrade in march of '12, but since it is the primary line I can upgrade now via My Verizon. However, Amazonwireless has the Rezound for 149 (upgrade price) which is 150 less than VZW, and is currently causing me to keep a copious amount of tissue nearby to wipe up the drool that keeps pooling at random places.
My question then, would be does anyone have any experience with VZW bumping up an upgrade for a primary line so that it will show on other websites? I realize it's a competitor's site so this is potentially a stupid question, but it's annoying that I can upgrade, but can't upgrade anywhere but on VZW. (I've tried checking through Amazonwireless and Wirefly, but they both list me as ineligible.)
I'm thinking it makes no difference, but I've been a VZW customer for only four years, with four lines in good standing, and I've yet to kill a baby panda.

It's kind of annoying. I talk to one person about moving my upgrade date up by 3 months since I'm already eligible for an upgrade and they say:
Ray: Do you think they would approve it being 3 months away, even though it's the primary line and can technically be upgraded right now?
    Cheryl: Yes they will
Ray: Ok, I'll try that. Thanks =)
And then I talk to the person that's supposed to be able to do that, but she tells me that since I'm already eligible for an upgrade they can't touch my upgrade date, which seems kinda odd. I'm not trying to say I'm entitled to anything in the least, it just seems that if I'm going to be upgrading and I could upgrade tomorrow if I wanted to pay 150.00 more than I can pay somewhere else, that they would at least try to get my phone and the other one I was planning on upgrading locked in, since it's been out of contract since May.
Oh well. Guess different reps have different rules.

  • Non-"primary line" backup assistant management

how do you manage a non-primary line's backup assistant from the web?  seems like the only capability is to manage the primary line's contacts.  i have 5 lines and want to manage contacts on the other 4 phones.

You need to create a MyVerizon account for EACH of the lines; they will each have their own log in and password. Secondary lines will not see any billing information, but they will be able to manage backup assistant for the phone associated with that number.
Creating the accounts will take a bit of time initially, but backups can be automatic and once they are set up, it makes upgrading or swapping phones much easier.
If you get the message that the number is already registered, you'll need to log totally out of Verizon and possibly clear cookies before trying to register with each secondary number.

  • Mail to: line change to a a name other than mine when mail received

When I receive mail from a certain source the to: address line changes from my name to someone else in my contact list. The email address is still mine, but a different name is associated with it. I cannot find that name associated with that email address anywhere in my contact or email list.

Could I have a virus that is messing with my contacts?
You'd have the first one in many years
Meanwhile, in addition to what V.K. said, I'd take a look at Mail/Window/Previous Recipients and clean them all out in case they are contributing the the confusion with auto-fill (this will also stop errors of mail using old email address for people who have changed their address).

  • Upgrade of primary line on account

When can I upgrade my primary line on my account. On a 2 year contract? I was told when I started my plan that the primary line could be upgraded at 12 months, all other lines would be 20 months.

The information you got is correct, the primary line will be eligible for an upgrade at 12 months, and the other lines will be eligible at 20 months.
Note that using the "Annual Upgrade" at 12 months will forfeit your New Every 2 credit (the $30 or $50 discount on top of the 2 year discounted pricing), possibly need to pay a $20 processing fee, and it will be the last Annual Upgrade you can use, because the program has been discontinued.

  • Speed dial with separate CSS from primary line

    Hello All,
I have a question about the possibility of using speed dials on a phone in a somewhat restricted sense. What I would like to do is setup a phone with a primary line that is only capable of making internal calls within our organization, and set a few speed dials that can call outside in the local area code for on-call techs. From what I see speed dials can't be set to a specific CSS, which leads me to believe that phone will just use the CSS of the primary line when making speed dial calls.
The question is, is this possible without messing around with custom CSS's and route patterns?

No, as you have seen, they will use the CSS from the configured DN to make the call, they cannot be configured with a separate CSS

  • Primary line question

is it cheaper to have a non data plan phone as the primary line, than for a data plan phone. There are two phones on my line one has a data plan and one doesnt.

There is no difference cost-wise, and the most expensive line is always the "Primary" line for billing purposes.

  • Feature "Show All Calls on Primary Line"

    Hi Community,
we're facing some curiosity with the feature - show all calls on primary line.
Just for troubleshooting I recreate an issue - I tested with an CallManager in Version
8.5.1.14900-5. In this Version there was the feature under phones - SIP8961 - Product Specific Configuration Layout available.
Customer is using 8.6.2a -> there is the feature not available.
Can everybody tell me why ? I need this feature.
    Thanks for help,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
Installing the latest device pack for 8.6.2 version should fix it. This is related to the following defect
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtt96205
Although the defect status says release pending but the latest device pack should fix this.
