Print command in JSF Page doesnot capture the EDITS

Hi,
The PRINT button on my JSP page doesnot show the edits unless they goto the Database.
For example, Iam on a page and editing some values and before I hit SUBMIT, I click Print Preview..it doesnot show the new values .
But when I hit SUBMIT and do Print it captures the new values.
Any solution to this??
Any help is really appreciated please...
Thanks.

You need to block the submit button from any default action, otherwise it is simply submitting the form to the server (and thus implicitly generating a new request, hereby aborting all running Javascript events/processes on the current response immediately).
Just add "return false;" to end of onclick.
onclick="window.print(); return false;"This is not needed if you used a plain <button> or <input type="button"> element instead.

    Hi,
    What is the exact printer model?
    If it is the HP Deskjet 1510, this is a USB printer and it does not offer any network capabilities.

    Thanks, Alex!
    ok, I try first approach in print4.vi, but Labview return an error (view jpg); if I cut From, To controls, the VI print all pages. The same things happen also if I trasform I32 in Variant.
    I don't try second approach, because at this time I have only one report
    I try also with VB macro: this is better (print3.vi) but.....if I use:
    Sub Print_Pages_From_To()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut Range:=wdPrintFromTo, From:="2", To:="3"
    End Sub
    is ok; print the pages selected; if I use:
    Sub PrintPages()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut  Pages:="2-3"
    End Sub
    printer print all pages.
    what do you think?

  • The Print command takes ages to bring up the print window

    When I use the print command, I get the spinning disk for about 5-7 seconds before the expected print window displays. This has been happening for the last month or so, but don't ask me what I did to make this happen I update and download applications all the time. Any help will be appreciated. If it is of any relevance, my list of printers has 4-5 of them but this was always the case and in the past the print window was coming up fast.

    A couple of ideas.
    Have a look for HP preference files in the system library under 'preferences' and delete them.
    Double check your driver is the right one for your OS and machine.
    Reinstall the software that came with your printer. NB: Install all the software that came with your printer. It's easy enough to remove the garbage apps afterwards.
    Give these a try and post back.

  • I can't print my document from Pages...the Print Button is down behind the Dock...and I can't click it to Print....healp!

    I can't print my document from Pages...since the Print Button is lodged behind the Dock...What do I do?

    Hi Judith,
    Your Print button should be accessible, of course, but sometimes we can do things to confuse the system and we have to take some action to get out of that situation. This case sometimes arises if we change the resolution of our screen display since opening the app, or if we change the position of something that is set to "stay on top" of the display.
    If the Dock is the problem right now, you could Hide it or Move it to a different edge of the display, to get it out of the way. Settings are in System Preferences, Personal, Dock. I usually have my Dock set to automatically Hide itself, so it's never in the way.
    You could also try Saving, Closing and reopening Pages and see if that resets the location of the Print Dialog. Or, you could  just hit Return rather than clicking on the button.

  • I am using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 . I cant print mixed originals and also I cannot print letter size correctly . printing of first two pages ok but the rest gets cut off at the top

    How can I print from MAC with Acrobat Reader. I can't seem to get it to print correctly , first two pages of letter size works ok after the remaining pages get moved up and the printing is cut off.

    I arrived here looking for a solution!  And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem.  I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on.  The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping.  But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference.  Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer.  As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.

  • Problem in capturing the edited data while the table is sorted

    hi,
    i am using the TableSorter class provided by the sun tutorials to add sorting capability for my JTable. i need to print on the screen, the value of the cell whenever it is updated. so i am using TableModelListener and its tableChanged() method for this purpose. if i edit the data without applying the sorting then its printing fine. But if i edit the data with table sorted in a particular order by clicking on the table header then the tableChanged method is not being called. So some problem lies in the table sorter which is preventing the call to the tableChanged method whenver table it is sorted. Below is my implementation of JTable.
    TableSorter sorter = new TableSorter(new MyTableModel());
    final JTable table = new JTable(sorter);
    table.getModel().addTableModelListener(new
    TableModelListener()
         public void tableChanged(TableModelEvent e)
              int row = e.getFirstRow();
                                               int column = e.getColumn();
              System.out.println("Row: "+row+" Coloumn:  "+column);
    );Hope u understood the problem. plzz help
    thanx

    hi camickr,
    However the row number displayed is always the row of
    the TableModel before the data has been sorted. this is the feature i am trying for and couldnt achieve it. i do want to print the row of tablemodel before data is sorted but i am getting 0 and -1 as row and column numbers.
    I never saw -1 as a column number.
    if you have never seen -1 as column number then just compile and run the code given below. I just added a table model listener to the table model to capture data editing. So if u edit any cell without applying sorting then its row and column number is printed properly but if u sort a particlar column and with sorting on if u edit any cell you will get row No. as 0 and column No. as -1. try running below code and please let me know where the problem exists or post your code which worked without any of the above problems.
    I believe the code was updated in Feb of this year,
    so make sure you have the most recent version.yes i have the latest version of tablesorter.

  • Unable to get the output when i run any jsf page in adf

    Hi,
    I have created one jsf page to access the business components which i had created earlier after that when i drop the another panel splitter into the second facet of the initial panel splitter we created , I was unable to see in the workspace (.jpx) window.can you suggest me on this.
    after done all the steps if I tried to run that page it starts the WLS servier and createda URL but the url is taking long time approx more that two hour and still not getting the required output only the loading window I can see.
    Please suggest me on this.
    Thanks
    Chetan

    Hi,
    the panelSplitter should at least show in the Structure Window. So check if it is there. The runtime issue can be caused by the proxy settings. Go to Tools / Preferences --> Browser and Proxy and add localhost to the list of exclusion
    If you are new to ADF I recommend running a tutorial like this: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm

  • Setting the value of a hidden field in a Visual Web jsf page

    Hey All,
    I am new to jsf and need some help with the following. I have written a method in the java portion of the jsf page that will get the selection(s) from a listbox and return them as a string. I need to assign the value of that string to a hidden field in the jsp portion of the page, so that I can pass the string as a parameter to a servlet. I have tried the following code in the "button_action", in the java portion of the jsf page, to assign the value of the string, returned from method, to the hidden field:
    hiddenField.setValue(string);
    This is not working. Any and all help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Here is the tag for the hidden field when the "hidden field" component is added from the pallette, I addded the "value" and "id". The name of the class is ReportStandard, which extends the AbstractPageBean.
    <webuijsf:hiddenField binding="#{ReportStandard.utilSelHF}" id="utilSelHF" value="#{ReportStandard.utilParams}"/>This is how I am calling the hidden field in the servlet:
    utils = request.getParameter("form1:utilSelHF_field");Here is the code for the button_action:
    public String runReport_button_action() {
           this.utilParams = get_utilSelection();
           return "sRptrslts";
    }

  • Why the window setting the printing disappeared when I try to select the page number of pdf file

    When I send the pdf file to the printer and try to select the page number to be printed by entering (e.g., 4-10), the page for setting up printing work suddenly disappeared.   As a result, I could only print pdf files from page 1 to the end, if I want to print any document.   I have no problem with printing word documents.  Thus, it should not be problems related to printer, right ?
    Your help is highly appreciated !

    What is your operating system?  Reader version?
    You mean the Print panel completely disappears when you enter some page numbers?

  • Why can't I get my printer to print out a playlist from i-tunes? It used to work but now my printer doesn't seem to receive the "print" command.

    Why can't I get my printer to print out a playlist from i-tunes? It used to work, but now the printer doesn't seem to recognize the "print" command coming from i-tunes. The printer works for other applications!

    I  finally solved this problem after toiling with it for a couple of  days.  Solution:  Once you have  burned your CD you must go back into  iTunes to your music/playlists and select the playlist you just burned  and click file; print and you will  get the mosaics that we have been  accustomed to.  I was on hold with  Apple Support when I found this  myself.  Yes......!!! Problem solved..for me anyway.  Good luck!

  • Forms 6i prints ugly when using the Forms print command from the menu

    When we use the Oracle Forms print built-in to print the screen-shots, the print-out turns out to be ugly with lots of dots all over.
    We are using Forms 6i (6.0.8.11.3) running on 9iAS on Windows 2000. The version of JInitiator we are using is 1.1.7.31. The forms open up in a separate frame.
    The interesting thing is when we print from a Windows 2000 machine, the screen-prints are OK. But they are messed up when we use a windows 98/95 machine.
    Any suggestions folks? Thanks

    Craig Bagley1 wrote:
    Any clues? I don't find anything in the Finder Help files to explain the Print command's use.
    If in the Finder I pull down the "Help" menu and type "Print" in the "Search" box, I see one "Menu Items" entry and five "Help Topics". If I click on the one for "Printing a closed document", it shows information that discusses printing one document at a time. I don't know if it's possible to print more than one document that way.
    Try this: Open the "Print & Fax" panel of System Preferences. Drag the printer's icon from the list on the left onto your Desktop. The result will be an icon that is an alias for the printer. Now try dragging several documents onto that icon.

  • JSF page & Sqlserver DB - gave 'Use the sqljdbc4' class error !

    Hello,
    I created an JSF page with business components and data controls generated from a connected sqlserver database.
    The driver class used is 'sqljdbc4.jar' and works for all generaled VIEW LINKS by the AppModule.
    However, on running the created JSF page, I get the following error - although the 'sqljdbc4.jar class (NOT sqljdbc.jar) is used for the DB connection, and the only reference in the application.
    The error message is:
    Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class library, which provides support for JDBC 4.0.
    QUESTION: Does that mean that I need to locate another sqlserver driver that supports JRE version 1.6 - although I understood from the documentation that 'sqljdbc4.jar' should work with JRE version 1.6?
    see full message log below - when trying to deploy the JSF page:

    No, you already have the needed driver in sqljdbc4.jar. The problem is that your classpath first points to sqljdbc.jar
    >
    ...;C:\KEEP\A_SOA_ActiveVOS\SQLserverjdbc_Driver\sqljdbc_2.0\enu\sqljdbc.jar

    so this dirver is loaded instead of the sqljdbc4.jar.
    Remove the old jar from the class path and try again.

    I bookmarked a website and wanted to print it. It is about a book. Somehow firefox crashed, and recovered. Now i want to print the the last 8 pages but it prints EVERYTHING AGAIN. I tried copying and pasting, didn't work. I really hope you can help me.
    with regards

    The option should be visible here: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Printing%20a%20web%20page#w_print-window-settings
    Print range section - Lets you specify which pages of the current web page are printed:
    * Select '''All''' to print everything.
    * Select '''Pages''' and enter the range of pages you want to print. For example, selecting "from 1 to 1" prints the first page only.
    * Select '''Selection''' to print only the part the page you've highlighted.
    Does it work for you?

  • New View Columns are Blank on Rendered JSF Page

    In an existing application, I am trying to add a few columns to an ADF Read-Only Table on an existing jsf page. In the model project, I added the columns to the read-only view object by changing the SQL statement. I then tested the business layer changes in the BC tester and the view works as I expected it to. I opened the affected jsf page in the ViewController, and tried to add the columns by copying the last column in the table repeatedly and just changing the sortable and headerText properties of the af:column objects and the text property of the af:outputText objects to values representing the new columns. Upon testing the page, the new columns appeared in the table but they where empty. No headers, no data. I then tried deleting the entire table and creating a new one by dragging the view back onto the page and selecting Create -> Tables -> ADF Read-only Table.... In the dialog I selected all the fields of interest and the new table appeared on the design view of the page. Running this version of the page gave me the same results as manually adding rows.
    What am I doing wrong? Is there something I need to do to the pagedef file? Is there another file that is "out of sync" with my jspx and pageDef files? I have been away from ADF for several months and I thought I covered all my bases.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Jeff,
    Your first scenario should work. What you need to do after copying the columns and changing all of the properties - go into the page definition, find the binding for the iterator upon which the table is based, double-click it, then you need to use the shuttle to add the new VO fields.
    Should work like that.
