Print driver solution for a panasonic workio DP-8035 printer/copier/fax

I need to print at my office from a networked DP-8035 panasonic printer, the print driver from panasonic's web site only supports 10.5, I am using 10.6.6, the driver won't even open! the installer crashes when I try to open it. Help Please.

Looking at the specs for the DP-8035 the PCL and Postscript print kits are options. If your copier is only using the default GDI printer kit, then you may not be able to print from the Mac directly to the copier.
If the copier does have the Postscript kit then you will be able to use the Generic Postscript driver included with OS X. If it has the PCL kit and not the Postscript then you can use the Generic PCL Laser driver included with OS X.

  • Print, Copy, Fax, Scan Recommendation

I haven't been able to fix the problem with my brand new Officejet J4660 All in one, (Print, copy, fax, scan). Yes, I have followed the recommendations posted here, and searched the HP forums as well. So, I had to "call a guy", that hurt.
So, would anyone care to give me a recommendation on another product that will work with my brand new iMac using Snow Leopard? An all in one product that works right out of the box, plug and play, like my iMac does?
    Thanks so much!

I like the one I have: Epson Artisan 810. It has the features you are looking for and supports duplex printing; it also does a fine job with color printing. When it comes time to install it, please follow Epson's guidelines:
Go ahead and follow the easy setup guide (setting it up, installing ink cartridges and paper, etc) up to the point of installing software.
Even if you want it to work wirelessly, do a wired (tethered to your computer or router via USB or ethernet cable), install first.
Do not use the install CD in the box. Instead, download the latest combo package driver from the Epson site and use it. For the 810, it would be the
    epson13615.dmg available here:
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 132634&prodoid=63084664&infoType=Downloads&platform=Macintosh
If you have a wireless router: mine (Netgear) requires that I enter the MAC address of any equipment I want recognized; once the printer is running, go into the Network setup on the LDC screen and you will find the address. Copy it and enter it on your router's website. I did that and then turned on filesharing and did not have to install anything else - I can print just fine from my Macbook wirelessly.

  • Solved! Windows 7 driver solution for HP Color LaserJet 3550

I had success getting the HP Color LaserJet 3550n (the 3550 family ) printer to install in Win7.  That printer was the only thing that did not fire up with Win7. In the Devices and Printers window, I tried troubleshooting, but it was a problem with the DOT4USB drivers. Similarly to others, I was successful by using the following course of action:
      1) Went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32-bit drivers for the 3550, unpacking them at C:\HP CLJ3550\ as suggested by the driver file.
      2) In Devices & Printers, did <Right-Click> <HP 3550> <Properties> <Hardware tab>
      3) I selected the first "Device Function" <DOT4USB> then did <Properties> <Change Settings> <Driver tab> <Uninstall>.
      4) I then selected the second and third Function (which were <HP Color LaserJet 3550> and <IEEE 1284.4 compatible printer> and did the the <Properties> ... <Uninstall> for each.
      5) I disconnected the USB to the printer, went back to Devices & Printers, and selected <Add a Printer>.
      6) I selected <Add a local printer> <Use existing port DOT4_001> <Next> <Have Disk> <C:\HP CLJ3550> <OK> and installed the printer.
      7) It would not work unless I "let" Windows make it the Default Printer
      8) After it was finished, I did <Right-Click> on my preferred printer and selected <Set as default printer>, and everything worked.

I want to thank you for the solution.  You saved me the expense of having to purchase a new computer.  I used the 64 bit 2003 version and it works just fine.  The people at HP were not very cooperative at all.  When I called, the lady who answered the phone asked if I was from the United States or Canada. When I stated the United States she had a big sigh
of disgust.  When I explained my problem that I was having with the 3550 Laser jet and HP not having the Window 7 drivers, and that the printer was non functional, she stated that I should have researched whether or not my printer was compatible with a new operating system before purchasing it. I asked her if HP would have a compatible driver soon as I did not want to have to purchase a new printer. Then she stated that my printer was old (I bought it in 2005) and what did I expect,t as if the printer not working was my fault.    I told them about your solution to this problem and if they could help me through the step but she did not cooperate .Even if I had to pay the $39 fee to the tech dept for their assistance it was worth it saving time.  HP service in my opinion is very poor and will lean toward a competitors product if I am faced with a choice.  Thank you again.

What would make you think the driver is not the problem?  The download link I gave above is the equivalent of what you have on the CD, but  designed for Windows 7.  It contains what you need to install if you want the all-in-one to work in Windows 7.

  • Oki B4100 driver solution for Tiger intel

After hours of useless talk to OKI-People I am glad to share the following solution with you.
    Compatible driver for OKI B4100
in the printer utility, select your printer -> usb
    as driver select
HP LaserJet 6 series with gimp print or cups
works well on a Mac Mini intel with OS Tiger 4.6
    tested with
    Word and Safari
Would be great if you post if it works for you!
Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   intel

    Thank you so much!
The OKI was kind of a rash purchase for me, I needed a cheap laser printer quickly and the B4100 seemed to be a decent printer for very little money.
Thanks again for providing a solution that at least makes it work now.

  • Windows 8 driver solution for HP Color LaserJet 3550

I have successfully installed on my "windows 8 32bit" Hp color laserjet 3550 printer with a USB cable.
(the guides seemed possible only with win8 64bit)
    Follow these steps:
    1) in Hp website support driver, select drivers for windows XP
    2) download clj3550prnsyswin-us.exe (HP color LaserJet 3550 printing system 2.0 April 15, 2005 86.4 MB)
    3) run the setup you unzip the files in c: \ clj3550 printing systems
    4) Connect the USB printer
    5) in the control panel, printer management, add a new local printer
    6) aggingere drivers from disk, select driver in c: \ clj3550 printing systems
    7) At this point the printer is created (hp color laserjet 3550), but it does not work, does not print any page
    8) in device manager right click and update drivers automatically, he searches for the driver online, update them and concludes the setup
    9) now in the control panel, printer management, you will find another printer, hp color laserjet 3550 copy. This one print very well.
    I hope it is useful

    Anubi80,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • Anyone aware of a tape drive solution for the iMac?

I have transitioned to an all digital video workflow and use an Intel based iMac as my editing system.  Since I no longer use the mini-dv tapes, I need to find a reliable storage solution to archive my original footage.  I believe LTO tapes to be my best bet.  I'm having trouble finding an external tape drive to work with my iMac because I don't have a SCSI interface on my iMac or can't locate a tape drive with a Firewire or Thunderbolt interface.  Any suggestions?

In the past I used Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac - VHS to DVD Conversion Mac Software, but that was back in Leopard/Snow Leopard and I don't see support for Lion.
Another thing that also worked well for getting those old mini vhs tapes into the iMac. Was to connect either the tape camcorder or the video tape in a mini tape adapter up to a standard DVD recorder and burn a DVD that could be imported into iMovie or your video software.

  • HT3152 What's the solution for people running Mavericks that need to send faxes?

Apple used to sell a USB Fax/Modem that worked great... until Lion.
    Is there a replacement part?

Not that I've heard of (although there are some third party external fax modems available). However, if you have an AIO printer that supports faxing, you can fax - either via the printer's touch screen or, depending on model, you may be able to control it from the Mac.
Or, there are online fax services.

  • HP Officejet 4215 all-in-one printer, copier, fax and scanner

Before I installed Leopard, I had various options in my print menu available to me. For example, I could print a document or webpage in black and white (to save ink) that was originally in color. After installing Leopard, those printer options do not exist anymore. I have to print everything that has color in color. Some of the other options are missing too. I went on the HP website to see if I could upgrade to a new driver but there was none listed. Also the Scanner feature won't work anymore now that Leopard is on my system. Now they did mention that on their website saying I would have to go buy a stand alone scanner now if I wanted to scan anything as a result to having something to do with Leopard!
I was told that there were printer drivers on the Leopard install disc. I installed them and haven't notice any differences.

HP have [this pdf document|http://h41140.www4.hp.com/macconnect/pdf/Mac_OS_launchspecial.pdf] available online entitled "We're Ready for Leopard". This document specifically mentions (among others) the OfficeJet 4215 and gives helpful info on moving your HP device from 10.4 to 10.5. Does this help you?

  • Printer Driver Support for Computers Running Windows 8 Release Preview

Printer driver support for computers running Windows 8 Release Preview
HP is working to help customers have the best experience with HP printers connected to PCs running the final release of Windows 8. The pre-release time is a development period when HP develops and tests printer driver solutions. HP’s current plan is for Windows 8 compatible printers to be available when the new operating system is released to the public. HP is working with Microsoft to include drivers in the Windows 8 operating system for HP printers introduced in recent years.
There may be a variety of sources for a printer driver/solution for your HP printer on a computer running Windows 8 Release Preview.
    inOS:
An in-Operating System (inOS) driver is a basic driver that is included within the operating system. You do not need to download or install any software from HP. Windows 8 Relase Preview contains several inOS drivers. If an inOS driver is available for your printer, you will have at least basic print capability with USB and Network and basic scan capability with USB only (if your printer supports scanning).
    Windows Update:
There might be a more functional or more up-to-date driver available for your printer through Microsoft Windows Update. If Windows Update is enabled, then the Windows Update process activates automatically when you connect (USB and Network connections) the printer to the computer. It searches online for the most recent print driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more functional than the currently installed driver in Windows 8, the computer downloads and installs this driver.
    HP Supplied Printer Driver/Solutions:
Although HP does not formally support any pre-release versions of Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 8 Release Preview, we may supply some full functionality drivers* prior to the official release of Windows 8. These drivers may be supplied as a courtesy to our valued HP customers through this Support Forum, though no formal support will be available otherwise. We welcome feedback within these support forums. Please check back for further updates as the official release of Windows 8 approaches.
    * Full feature drivers provide full product functionality, plus valuable software to help you get the most out of your printer.

  • VXIPC-882 secondary hard drive solutions?

When it comes to a secondary drive solution for the VXIPC-882 controller, what would be the possibilities available to us?
Switching to a rack mount or desktop PC is the obvious one.  But are their capabilities in the VXI family of products that I am not aware of?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike B.

    Hi Mike_B,
ExpressCard is an open standard, and for the purposes of your situation it will not matter whether or not the system you are attaching an ExpressCard to is a VXIpc, a PXI controller, a laptop, etc.  If a system has an ExpressCard slot, generally any such card of the proper form factor (ExpressCard/34 in this case) would work fine. In practice, much as with USB devices, compatibility is 99.9%, and so you need to test with your specific hardware combination to ensure that you are not in that 0.01%. If you find information on line about ExpressCard RAID, for example, I would expect that to also be generally applicable to a VXIpc.
As for the main focus of your question, for the VXIpc-882, I think you have hit upon the two most logical solutions - an external USB hard drive or an ExpressCard based solution which could take a number of forms: ExpressCard eSATA with or without RAID or ExpressCard SSDs (much like a very large USB key drive). I'm not recommending any particular approach - it will really depend on the specifics of your situation, but this should give you an idea of the typical options and also some confidence that you can choose a solution without worrying to much about it being "VXI-specific".

  • HP C4200 All-in-One Series Printer/Copier/Scanner

My All-in-One 4200 HP Printer, Copier, Fax machine continues to waste paper and prints alignment pages almost every time I print a document.
I believe you would agree that this feature needs to be turned off and is very annoying.  Other than constantly pressing cancel, please tell me what I can do to stop this from happening?
    Thank you
    Dale Kozek

    Hi blanche2,
I understand you are inquiring if you have the proper software CD for your printer. Yes you do. A printer much like a car has a series that contains a base model and a few others. By adding different features and options to the base model it will create a different model number under that original series. The base driver will be the same for all the printers, but each model will have certain extras. Also different store chains will be assigned a different model number in that series depending on the promotions that are offered at that particular chain.
I hope this helps, let me know.
    Thank you,

Apple seems to be naming their operating sytems usability based on the respective turd size of the feline in question. Lions are big, very, very, very big.
I had a system that served me well for 2 years until I mistaking bought a new machine which runs mega-turd (Lion). Foolish me, now nothing works properly, its a daily struggle to get anything working smoothly using my NEW mac mini. All my other machines work fine, even the windows machines and my Android tablet see all the network components and can talk to each other.
My Internet service is over 3g which I share to the house using internet sharing via my brand new €800 mac mini running POS Lion, everytime the service is interrupted, Kaboom, the mini resets the DHCP server, but doesn't seem to refresh any of the components so connections drop everywhere.
Its amateur hour at Apple folks.
There are several posts alone relating to internet sharing, I have submitted a bug report relating to the non user controllable DHCP server (which may be at fault), but the response / solution from Apple was lacklustre and ultimately didn't work.
    See this, there are some work around's in there;

  • HP ePrint from excel add-in: Error while getting driver name for printer

Trying to use add-in for ePrint from excel/word I get, "error while getting driver name for printer \\...HP DesignJet 800PS 42 by HP," with an option to select "OK" and that same message repeats with each printer in our network, and then it doesn't allow me to print using the add-in. However, I can print normally to HP Go Web, open up Print and Share,  then print it from there. This happens with excel and word. I have Office Suite 2007.

    Hello modameister,
Sorry you are having issues with this printer and the ePrint add-on.  There are a couple of questions I would like you to answer please.
    1.  What operating system are you using? (XP,VISTA,7,MAC OS X)
    2.  What and how much data are you trying to print?
    3.  Have you tried to copy and paste the data into a different application or tried using the snip it tool?
    4.  Are you receiving any .dll errors (mscms.dll)
    Thanks
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • There must be a real solution to "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
I've spent hours researching this error - Seems like many people have the same issue although there is no difinitive fix or known cause.
I'm hoping someone here has an answer.
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OEM (HP)
This is not an upgraded Vista system.
It's not a specific driver related issue as it's the same response/effect be it graphics/chip set/usb/printer drivers.
Please dont suggest to flatten and re-install or run a repair install - It's not an option, I only have remote access to the unit
as it's currently in field use.
This is a machine specific issue - identical machine purchased at the same time and configured the same has no issue.
    So the story.
User has been fine for weeks - no hardware of software changes except Windows Updates.
A Camera/USB connection that was working no longer does.
    Tried in all USB ports
Plug in - windows announces found new hardware, tries to install drivers then fails
with "Windows found software for your device but encountered an error installing ...."
Device manager finds and identifies device although it is in the 'Unknown Device" category.
Manually updating drivers via search/internet or point directly at a driver has exactly the same effect.
Thinking this was just the camera drivers - I researched and downloaded new drivers from camera manufacturers sites
    Fuji and Canon.
    Same effect.
Deleted/uninstalled drivers completely, deleted/uninstalled all USB root hub and USB devices (hidden and visible)
    SFC /Scannow finds no error
Cold boot finds USB and chipset(?) devices on boot attempts to reinstall then we get
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
So now I have no usb devices at all - memory stick/card reader/printer...... nada.
in fact if I try to update any device driver I get the same message generated.
Restore point does not help either.
After much trawling I found reference to a permisions issue and stale driver cache data.
(This is using an administrator account - not user with admin permissions?)
I'm willing to try anything at this time
I deleted the infcache.1 and other .dat files under c:\windows\system32\driverstore
Copied the usb  .inf and .pnf from the appropriate FileRepository directory into c:\windows\inf
Uninstalled all the usb/unkown devices from device manager again.
    Rebooted
Takes a little longer to boot as I take it it's rebuilding the driver cache then
    a very short hurrah!!!
I can now use usb memory card and pen drives - no issue
Plug in a camera or printer...
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
Several attempt at this trying different driver versions.
It should not be vendor specific, the other field machine that works is using Microsoft drivers for these devices.
I even copied the drivers from one machine to the other - repeated everything above...
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
And then the nail in my sanity
    Try windows update....
    Reboot
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing"
    but this time its different.
The device it thinks it cannot install is the generic MTP-PTP drivers  (Photo Transfer Protocol -so am I getting somewhere)
so it still finds but cannot install.
The cameras are always found but appear as 'unknown devices' and cannot be accessed
Uninstall all USB/unkown again - reboot..
Same message and this time I've lost all the USB again.
Restore point to before Win Update gets me USB back again although I still have no cameras  - so theres an update issue as well.
This has to be tied down to a file access/ registry problem although I'm loath to go cutting about without some guidance.
I'm no great believer in 'registry cleaners' unless anyone can point to a definitive/no ad's/sales version that really works.
As I said above, flattening/rebuild at this time is not an option - the user is not best pleased and I'm completley stumped.
If anyone has experienced(manu of you have) and fixed(still to find one) this issue please let me know how as soon as possible.
    Chris

I know I am replying to an old thread - but I have the answer and resolved this error, and since this message comes up first in search results, and part of my answer came from this thread, I wanted to help someone else as this took an extra
12 hours and a lot of technical insight to resolve. See below for detailed explanation that others ask for above.
My original issue was that iTunes didnt reinstall. generating this error that said I am trying to access an unavailable network resource and to browse to find itunes64setup (again). This may partly have been due to me deleting old install version folders.
Research led me to completely uninstall apple products and reinstall per their instruction and fixed the issue with iTunes. see
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
The SAME error I had while updating itunes recurred while uninstalling it from my Windows 7 SP1 system...so I went to microsoft Fixit and attempted to correct and it properly uninstalled iTunes for me, which allowed the reinstall.
What didnt work was my USB web root/ root hub, which partly involved my older system and USB 1.0, and the delete/reinstall existing drivers with the c:\windows\winsxs folder as source of drivers (thank you Magon Liu!!!) which I had to figure out what/why
    and how.
Then I had an intel chipset issue...my new Iphone wasn't recognizing in plug and play, and there was an error with installing the device drivers for my new iphone 6. Manual applications didn't work, even though a generic device showed in control panel -
device manager with a yellow !
Per above blog answer - I tried to remove and reinstall my USB controller or update the drivers (I have an Alienware M15 laptop - a few years old.) I discovered that the USB host controller - an Intel(R) 5 Series / 3400 Series Chipset family USB Enhanced
Host controller - (port) was not covered by current Intel chipset programs which are Series 6 and later, but did have an update (8/20/2009 v9.1.1.1020)  that supported USB 2.0 (and therefore 3.0 backwards compatibility which as an issue with my new iPhone
and some USB thumb drives.) To find this I had to look at the Support - Downloads and Drivers - browse for drivers and somewhere found an option to look for older no longer supported drivers. I found infinst_autol.exe for my case.
Once downloaded I tried to install and failed. Found the log in C:\Intel\Logs and contains:
    [InstallDev]
              [Device]
                Driver = C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf
                INF = C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf
                Installed INF =

    !           Warning 0xE0000235: DriverPackageGetPath failed.
                Difx = 64 bit
    Execute command: C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\x64\Difx64.exe -DriverInf "C:\Users\DAVIDS~1\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7\ibexusb.inf" -Flags 20 -KeyPath "Software\Intel\Difx64"
                Using RegDeleteKeyEx
!!!         ERROR 0xE0000246: DriverPackageInstall generated an unexpected error
HERE'S THE ADDED EXPLANATION TO BRIAN'S POST THAT EXPLAINS THE SECURITY ISSUE:
This turned out to be an error for two reasons. First, after manually running the command in an "run as administrator" window (same error result), thinking it related to my anti-virus (turned that off/disabled firewall and A/V), and from this thread
granting my user administrative rights to files in an install folder and trying to reinstall inf files and drivers from C:\Windows\winsxs vs my copied infinst_autol.exe expansion (as found from log in C:\Users\David Samuels\AppData\Local\Temp\IPMx7\WIN7 folder).....that
there was an easier solution as the reason this error actually happens is a permissions problem.
To access the proper windows system folders - you have to be the TrustedInstaller service - not just in the administrator group...or you have to be the actual "Administrator" account. To become actual administrator on
your own laptop, Open a command window "run CMD.exe as administrator", then execute command
    > net user administrator /active:yes
This creates a local PC Administrator account with no password. Coincidentally it has proper permissions to windows directories for installing drivers. Log in as this user, go to device manager and update the USB hub and any other drivers. if updating the
USB root - it doesn't replace it right away as the system cant disable the currently resident in memory "running" driver  - you have to update, then restart the system, log in as administrator and repeat at the next lower layer that has issues.
Once completed - log in as yourself again and disable the administrator account in a command window with > net user administrator /active:no
This in my case enabled all my USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices on my originally only USB 1.0 laptop and everything else works properly again - I hope this helps many of you to resolve your own issues that were difficult to find and resolve and that got as far as
    this thread. Good luck!
