Print message when there are no pages to show in output

Hi,
I need to give a custom message like "Report did not produce any output due to .... " in the BI publisher report output instead of adobe giving the error 'there are no pages" in the pdf output.
Any inputs ?

Hi,
I am getting the same problem. I have the following tags which are causing the issue. If i remove these, it does not show error.
<?start@last-page-first:body?>
<?end body?>
I also have @section for main group. Could that be the issue ?

    All works fine, but when there are no results for a letter of the alphabet I obviously get a blank page.

    Your current code creates a new table for each result. The opening and closing <table> tags should be outside the the <for-each> loop. To deal with the possibility of no results being found, use a conditional statement and the count() function like this:

    I have 10.6.8 and have installed two new printers HP 8610 and an Epson 7880 and can not find the Page Set-up menu anywhere in the applications I a trying to print from. This is regardless of either printer selected.
    I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5.  The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices  There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
    Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
    Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
    Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

    Hey,
    if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders.  You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

  • OS X 10.5 Mail shows unread messages when there are none and get ghost messages

    I have been searching for an ansswer to this delimma, but have found similar issues but none exactly the same.  I run 10.6 server and have mixed network users of 10.6 and 10.5 clients.  One of the users on 10.5 's mail app keeps showing unread messages, but there are no unread messages.  When they click on another mail box in the mail client or another folder the number changes, but ther always seems to be one or two.  The user also gets at least 2 blank e-mails in the mail app.  I have check the users web mail account and there are no blank e-mail messages or spam.  I tried to rebuild the mail box, and have also tried trashing the indexs, and they still get the same message.  Short of creating a new user does anyone have any suggestions?  None of my other users seem to have the same problem, although they do not use mail as much as this one user does..... 

    I get this issue every single day, and it is specifically reproducible. Here is the scenario:
    1) I have two mail accounts configured on my iPhone, one is my work account and is disabled on the phone, the other is my gmail account which is always enabled on my phone
    2) Each morning, when I head into work I enabled my work email account so I can start reading my work emails for the day. This downloads all the new messages from the server and displays them as unread.
    3) I read some of them, but not all of them.
    4) Once I get to my office, I read all of the rest of my new work emails from the Mail app on my MacBook Pro.
    EXPECTED: The messages that are read on the mail app are updated as read messages
    OBSERVED: On my iphone, not all of the messages have their statuses changed to read. Some of them always remain as unread messages
    5) Next, I delete some of the messages read from my computer from the email server altogether.
    EXPECTED: These messages would also appear deleted when using the mail app on my iPhone
    OBSERVED: Not only are the messages not deleted, but they are still listed as unread
    The only way to resolve this each day is for me to select each message and view it for a second to have the unread message indicator removed. I have to turn off the mail account and turn it back on for it to correctly sync with the mail server and correct the mistakes.
    There is clearly a problem within the iPhone mail app with retrieving updates from the mail servers.
    I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 that I purchased in November. Before that, I had an iPhone 3G S and never experienced the issue on my 3G S. My MacBook Pro was used with both devices.

    Please open your message icon and press the menu button(left of the trackball) and click saved messages. Are there any messages in there?

  • Minor bug with editing when there are multiple pages of reports on the list

    When I edit a report and save the changes, I am returned to a different page on the list of reports than I started from.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Sort reports by Type
    2. On the first page on the list of reports, find  a custom report I created
    3. click Edit, then click Save
    4. I am returned to page 2 of the reports instead of page 1.
    5. If I click Cancel instead of Save, I'm returned to page 1 as expected.
    Depending on which page I started from I may be returned to some other seemingly random page, i.e. starting from page 4 I might be returned to page 3.
    Expected behavior - it should either return me to the first page, or else return me to the page I started from.

    Make sure your logo is not overlapped with any window... and i guess, your smartform has two page formats...
    Identify the next page attribute of you first page and do the amendments as stated above.

    Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
    you might also try deleting the mail account and re-adding it (in the Settings app).

  • LiveCycle Designer ES2 - There are no pages selected to print Error

    I have recently updated by forms to liveCycle Designer ES2 and Adobe Acrobat X.  We are experiencing an issue with printing the form that was updated to use ES2.  When send it to the printer we get 2 error messages and it doesn't print.  First Error: "The Document could not be printed"  Second Error: "There were no pages selected to print".
    I am not sure way I am getting these errors now but it is becoming a large issue.  Other PDFs not created in liveCycle Designer ES2 print fine.  Also it is not just one computer that doesn't print it is at least 20 computers (windows 7, adobe reader 10.1).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve this?  My LiveCycle form is a dynamic form.  It seems like livecycle Designer ES2 has corrupted it or designer ES2 has a bug that makes reader and acrobat print engine not recognize the pages.

  • IPhone 4s has yahoo mail icon permanently on safari when there are no open pages

    My iPhone 4s using iOS7.0.2 has a Yahoo mail icon displaying permanently on the top of Safari when there are no open pages. The icon did not disappear even when I deleted my Yahoo mail account. The icon also has my Yahoo username displayed below it. Is there any way I can remove the Yahoo mail icon from permanently displaying on Safari? I cleared my history, cookies and data, but the Yahoo icon is still there.

    I have the same issue and koban4max's sugggestion doesn't work (well, it works, but you'll need to do it once a day.) I am surprised this hasn't been widely reported either as an iphone, Verizon or Yahoo issue. I tried various suggestions (deleting/re-adding account, moving messages to a new folder and changing password on computer/iphone, etc.) It will push for a while but stop pushing in a few hours or a few days. This leads me to believe somewhere in the interface corrupts the process. I would love to know if it's unique to Verizon, iphone 4S or IOS 5, or all of the above. The phone doesn't even fetch according to schedule, only when you are in the application. BTW, the Exchange push solution for Gmail works wonderfully.

    I have hidden pages in the PDF form I'm using (but didn't create).  How can I see and print all the pages at once without clicking on the "next page" button.  In the initial view, there are four pages, but if I click the "next page" button, there are a total of 12 pages in this document.  This is three budget years, each year being 4 pages long.

    You're most likely dealing with a dynamic XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer. You can open it, click the button, and save it, and it will most likely be 12 pages when next opened, but it depends on how the form is set up. The ability to make edits to an XFA form in Acrobat is very limited, especially for dynamic forms, so things like flattening aren't possible.
    If it's not an XFA form, you'd still need to click the button at least once and save. To say for sure what's possible, I'd need to see the document. Can you post it somewhere?

    When I OCR two versions of the same document and then compare the documents in Acrobat Pro XI, I usually get the message that there are no changes to mark.  However, I know there a quite a few number of changes.  I raised this question more than a year ago, and the response I received had to do with the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents.  However, if I use Acrobat Pro XI to save the same documents in Word and then run a comparison in Word all of the changes are marked.  When a PDF is saved as a Word document in Acrobat Pro XI, is a different OCR module being used than the one used in Acrobat Pro XI for text recognition?

    OCR is only for recoginition of the image / picture of text provided by an scanner.
    Content typed into a Word file which is converted to a PDF is (in Word and in PDF) *not* an image  or picture of text - it is the digital text. So, no OCR involved.
    When the "digital" (renderable) text of a PDF's page content is exported to Word no OCR is involved.
    When a PDF's content is from the image output of a scanner and this is a picture of text then OCR comes into play.
    If this content is exported to Word before doing OCR then it is the image that is exported to the Word file.
    Once OCR is performed it is the OCR output that is exported.
    OCR output is (always will be) impacted by "the quality of the OCR and the scans of the documents". 
    Regardless "Compare" is based on a Word file output to PDF1 then edits to the Word file followed by an output to PDF2. You use Acrobat Pro to do a compare of PDF1 & PDF2.
    Paper 1 scanned to image 1 to image 1 in PDF1 that gets OCR 1 and
    Paper 2 scanned to image 2 to image 2 in PDF2 that gets OCR 2
    being processed with Acrobat Pro's Compare can certainly be done.
    But - well you've described what can be observed.

    You may open the original form in FormsCentral and toggle to “Page View” at the lower right corner. Adjust the page content to make sure no page breaks in this view.
