Print option in report viewer of crystal report in Java

I am using following code to view the report:
<%@taglib uri="http://www.businessobjects.com/jsf/crystalreportsviewers"
prefix="bocrv"%>
<bocrv:reportPageViewer viewerName="CrystalViewer"
reportSource="#{CrystalReportBeanObject.reportSource}"
displayToolbarRefreshButton="false"
allowDatabaseLogonPrompting="false"
allowParameterPrompting="false"
databaseLogonInfos="#{CrystalReportBeanObject.connectionInfosCrystal}"
parameterFields="#{CrystalReportBeanObject.fieldsCrystal}"
displayGroupTree="false" displayToolbarLogo="false"
displayToolbarToggleTreeButton="false"
enablePageToGrow="false" height="540"
zoomPercentage="100" width="750"
allowDrillDown="false"
displayToolbarPrintButton="true"
printMode="PDF"
></bocrv:reportPageViewer>
Here, when printMode="PDF", it opens a popup, telling "First save the report as PDF and then print it", as soon as I click Print icon.
But when printMode="ActiveX", it opens a blank popup, as soon as I click Print icon.
I am not sure, which print mode should I use, so that my report viewer will show the Printer lists as soon as I click on Print icon.

  • Display 4000 character string in Crystal Report Viewer using crystal reports XI

    Hi,
    I am facing issue while displaying a field which is of 4000 character length with data type string. It is displaying first 100 characters correctly. After 100 chracters it is displaying junk characters. Please help me for solving this issue.
    Thanks,
    Nagamani

    Great, now we need confirmation on what version of CR and DB you are using?
    If you are using CR XI version 11.0 then download CR XI R2 -  version 11.5, free upgrade:
    http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreports/crxir2_sp4_full_bld_0-20008684.exe
    http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreports/CRYSTALREPORTS06_0-20008684.EXE
    Use your XI Keycode to install.
    Second question is what Database are you using and what client and how are you connecting, ODBC, OLE DB or Native?
    The issue sounds like the DB client is not ending data reading at the end of line ( OEF/EOL ) or the line is not marked with a null character or however it should be done.
    Nothing in configuration would fix this... Something either in the client you are using, CR simply displays the data it gets, if the Client does not stop the data being read CR is going to show you that data also.
    Could also be the Client is not capable of handling a 4K string so it's reading/filling in a buffer of random values and therefore shows garbage...
    I suggest you upgrade first and if it's still an issue then make sure CR supports the version of data source you are using and if it's still a problem try posting to the DB Makers Forum and ask them to look into the issue.

  • Using DB2 views in crystal reports with java

    Post Author: Shikha Tomar
    CA Forum: JAVA
    Hello,
    We have used DB2 views in Crystal Report 11.
    We are able to view the report through crystal report tool but while using this rpt file in java application,the DB2 view is not found.
    It gives an error: "table SCDC.View_report not found."
    SCDC.View_report=Name of the view used in rpt
    Code for calling rpt is as below:
    The line marked as red gives the error:
    private static void switch_tables(DatabaseController databaseController) throws ReportSDKException, IOException {
    final String URI = "!com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver!jdbc:db2://"SERVERNAME":"PORT"/"DATABASE_NAME"!"+"";
    final String DATABASE_DLL = "crdb_jdbc.dll";
    //Obtain collection of tables from this database controller.
    Tables tables = databaseController.getDatabase().getTables();
    CommandTable commandTable=new CommandTable();
    //Set the datasource for all main report tables.
    for (int i = 0; i < tables.size(); i++) {
    ITable table = tables.getTable(i);
    //Keep existing name and alias.
    table.setName(table.getName());
    table.setAlias(table.getAlias());
    //Change properties that are different from the original datasource.
    table.setQualifiedName(TABLE_NAME_QUALIFIER + table.getName());
    //Change connection information properties.
    IConnectionInfo connectionInfo = table.getConnectionInfo();
    //Set new table connection property attributes.
    PropertyBag propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    //Overwrite any existing properties with updated values.
    propertyBag.put("Trusted_Connection", "false");
    propertyBag.put("Server Name", SERVERNAME); //Optional property.
    propertyBag.put("Connection String", CONNECTION_STRING);
    propertyBag.put("Database Name", DATABASE_NAME);
    propertyBag.put("Server Type", "JDBC (JNDI)");
    propertyBag.put("URI", URI);
    propertyBag.put("Use JDBC", "true");
    propertyBag.put("Database DLL", DATABASE_DLL);
    connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
    //Set database username and pasword.
    //NOTE: Even if these the username and password properties don't change when switching databases, the
    //database password is not saved in the report and must be set at runtime if the database is secured.
    connectionInfo.setUserName(DBUSERNAME);
    connectionInfo.setPassword(DBPASSWORD);
    connectionInfo.setKind(ConnectionInfoKind.SQL);
    //connectionInfo
    table.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
    //Update old table in the report with the new table.
    databaseController.setTableLocation(table, tables.getTable(i));

  • Cannot view a Crystal Report in InfoView

    Hi,
    I created a report in Crystal Reports 2008, using connection to SAP tables and Function Modules. The reports contains some parameters and In Crystal Designer it works fine.
    Then I put it into the InfoView. If I try to view it, I get the error:
    "An error has occurred: Servlet execution threw an exception " before promting the database log on information.
    If I remove the parameters from this report, I can start the viewer without errors. Reports with parameters and other connection type work in this InfoView.
    The same report with parameters and SAP connection works fine in another InfoView.
    We upgraded the SAP Integration Kit on the server, but it did not help.
    I really need to find a solution for this problem, because cannot present the reports to the customer.
    Could somebody propose a solution? Probably someone has a similar problem?
    Kind regards,
    Oleksandr

    Hi,
    Thanks for your replies. Sorry for delay with my answer. Yesterday our admin upgraded the server (incl. JCO), the problem with the reports with parameters is resolved. But, now I have another problem with the database connection.
    Locally I use BO XI 3.1, Crystal Reports SP2, BO XI Integration for SAP solutions. On the server :
    BO Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2
    BO XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions FP 2.1 Update
    BO XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions Russian Language Pack
    BO XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions SP2
    SAP BO XI 3.1 Integration, version for SAP solutions applications SP3 Update
    SAP BO XI 3.1 Integration, version for SAP solutions applications Russian Language Pack
    Now I create locally an empty report in Crystal Reports, just select in the database-assistent one SAP table and save without using these fields at all.
    Then, I go to the customer InfoView, there add this report using "Add->Crystal Reports..." from my local folder. If I click "View", I get the error:
    "Error in File Test: Failed to load database information. "
    If I click "View" for a report with parameters, a screen appears for the parameter selection, but after "Execute" I get the same error.
    Yesterday before server upgrade I could start the viewer for the same reports without parameters. All reports can be viewed now in another InfoView.
    I tried to change some options for the report Database Configuration in CMC, but it did not help. Possibly was I wrong with the settings?
    I would appreciate if you give me any idea how this problem can be solved.
    Thanks in advance!
    Oleksandr

  • Views on CF Report Builder and Crystal Report

    Dear all,
    I would like to get your opinions on CF Report Builder and
    Crystal Report.
    As we all know, CF Report Builder is a new reporting tool.
    But I find it very difficult to design a complex report maybe due
    to limitation in its functionalities. Sometimes the tool shutdowns
    by itself without any warning and reason. But the output is nicely
    presented on a flash paper / pdf and it can be run on non-MS
    platforms.
    On the other hand, Crystal Report is a more matured product
    but runs only on MS platform. It is very easy to use and very
    powerful. I have been using it for almost 10 years. But the output
    is not nicely presented on the web browser unless if we purchase
    Crystal Report Enterprise to generate the report which is very
    costly.
    Can you all share your views? I need to make decision which
    tool(s) to use. Really appreciate it.
    Cheers,
    Keiko

    Hi Keiko,
    Yes, CF Report builder is new and initially there was few
    issues with this. But I guess now it's good after hotfixes.
    Well, I am using CF Report Builder. It's good for me. You can
    also design and develop complex reports, that depends upon the
    query you are writing. You can also add subreports to your main
    reports.
    Mainly CF Report is platform independent and you can also
    generate reports in PDF, EXCEL and FlashPaper.
    Crystal Report is no doubt is very good, and it's there for
    long years. I agree you can create complex reports with this, but
    you also can do the same in CF also. You are using this for last 10
    years, so I guess you should try something new and that is CF
    Report Builder and you can judge then.
    I am sure you will have fun with CF.
    Thanks

  • Customizing ActiveX Viewer for Crystal Reports 2008

    Here's the scenario.
       We have reports designed in Crystal Reports 2008, that are deployed on Business Objects 3.1 Infoview. All reports have Parameters for users to choose. All reports are expected to refresh on open.Some are dynamic some are standard static ones. There is an application developed in JAVA that is rendering these reports using the ActiveX viewer.
    The users are not comfortable with the way reports look in JAVA viewer. Hence the choices are either HTML viewer or ActiveX viewer.
    The application achieves this by making OpenDoc call to the report and using
    sViewer=actx
    as one of the parameters. Here's the issue that we run into. When users land on the parameter screen, the parameter screen alone Pops Up in a new window. Once all the parameter values are entered and the users clicks OK, the window vanishes and actual report is rendered in the original window.
    If we use HTML viewer by setting
    sViewer=html
    The report Parameter screen is rendered in the main window without popping up. However we do not wish to use HTML viewer because, some of the reports are linked to other reports with OpenDoc calls. i. e. Parent report calls child report with a OpenDoc call. In the HTML viewer, when you click on the link to child report, it opens in same window despite setting
    sWindow=new
    in that opendoc call. Thereby losing parent report and no way to navigate back to it. This problem does not happen in ActivX viewer.There it seems to obey the command to open in new window.
    Lastly you can recreate all this behavior by setting your viewer preferences in Info View settings.
    So, here's my questions.
    1. Should I use the .Net viewer instead of ActiveX Viewer ? If so, where can I find Syntax for the same ?
    2. Can someone point me to documentation on the ActiveX Viewer ? Specifically making it not to Pop Up the Parameter Screen ?
    3. Should the Java application use a different method other than Open Doc to cal the reports ? If so where can I get the details ?
    Apologies for the long post. I tried to anticipate most of the questions that may arise in your mind. Thanks in advance for the time invested.

    Thank you Adam for the help.
    I already have the Open Document document you mentioned. Can't seem to search for the KB article in Marketplace. No results found.
    Just to clarify, I do not want to avoid the Parameter screen. Its the fact that it Pops Up in ActiveX viewer is the issue. The only thing I want in ActiveX viewer is to make that screen appear in main window just like HTML viewer.
    I understand that there is no difference as far as opendoc is concerned between .Net or JAVA. I am looking for the SDK behind the viewers themselves.
    To my third question, your answer is what I was looking for. But need a bit clarification.
    >
    Adam Stone wrote:
    > If you do not like the functionality that OpenDocument provides, you could use the SDK to view the reports, but you will likely run into the same issue as you are running into when using the html viewer.  The only workaround for that is to set a property on the viewer object in the SDK but it will affect all hyperlinks in the report not just a single one.
    By setting Property in SDK for the viewer Object, are you referring to Meta Tag encapsulation such as
    <a href= http://infoview.server.com/Infoview/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ABZR3Z&sIDType=CUID&&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y&sWindow=new>Report Title</a>
    May be I didn't get your point with setting property. I know there is documentation on Viewer SDK. I just can't seem to find it. I hope it would answer the questions.

  • Java Plugin Viewer with Crystal Reports 2008

    Hello,
    I am trying to use the Java Plugin Viewer with Crystal Reports, but I have some problems. The ActiveX Viewer works well, but as I want to use the reports in other browsers, I need the Java viewer.
    I have a Visual Basic 6 application, and, instead of including SmartViewerActiveX.asp, I have included JavaPluginViewer.asp. I have taken this file from an older version of Crystal, and I am changing the values on it (I have done the same with the ActiveX Viewer, without problems). This is the main code of the file:
    <OBJECT
        classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
        width="100%"
        height="100%"
        codebase="/crystalreportviewers11/JavaPlugin/Win32/j2re-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe#Version=1,4,0,0">
        <param name=type value="application/x-java-applet;version=1.4">
        <param name=code value="com.crystaldecisions.ReportViewer.ReportViewer">
        <param name=codebase value="/crystalreportviewers11/JavaViewer/">
        <param name=archive value="ReportViewer.jar">
        <param name=Language value="en_US">
        <param name=ReportName value="RDCrptserver11.asp">
        <param name=CanDrillDown value="true">
        <param name=HasExportButton value="true">
        <param name=HasGroupTree value="true">
        <param name=ShowGroupTree value="true">
        <param name=HasPrintButton value="true">
        <param name=HasRefreshButton value="true">
        <param name=HasTextSearchControls value="true">
        <param name=HasZoomControl value="true">
        <param name=HasSearchExpert value="false">
        <param name=HasSelectExpert value="false">
        <param name=ShowLogo value="false">
    </OBJECT>
    I know how to change all the values of this object so it works with Crystal2008 except one: the codebase.
    I have gone to IIS, and under the virtual folder "crystalreportviewers12" I don't see any JavaPlugin folder, there's only the JavaViewer folder, and there isn't any .exe inside...
    So, where can I find the .exe for the codebase?
    I have tried searching the web for a tutorial or something, but I haven't seen anything for Crystal 2008.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank you very much!

    This is so wrong, I don't even know which forum this would belong to ( I think I'll move it to the SAP Crystal Reports, version for Eclipse topic Space...
    Let's start with this:
    I have taken this file from an older version of Crystal,
    Don't mix versions. It will not work. Period
    Next re:
    I don't see any JavaPlugin folder,
    If you want a Java solution, I'd recommend using CR for Eclipse which you can download from here:
    SAP BusinessObjects - SAP Crystal Reports, Version For Eclipse Download
    I would then recommend having a peek here:
    CRJ SDK
    Developer Help File is here:
    https://help.sap.com/javadocs/cr/xi/jrc/en/overview-summary.html
    Finally, I'm not sure what references you are making in your VB 6 app, but there is no SDK in CR 2008 that supports VB 6.

  • Which is better to use Store Procedure or Views in Crystal Reports ?

    Hi,
    which one is more better to use Store Procedure or Views in Crystal Reports ?
    Thanks.

    It depeneds on the requirement. Well, but from performance point of view as u know that stored procedures are already compiled on DB side, they would be more efficient. Views are handled differently. Here CR has nothing to do with it.
    But if the stored procedure u r using is having 2 Select statements, CR will only display the results from the first select statement. In that case you need to use Views as one can use more than one views in the report and join them.
    Using a Generic view which is created by the DBA for a larger audience will result in performance issues meaning if a View "V" has 25 fields and View is based on 5 tables  and ur report is using only 5 fields which are coming only from 2 tables inside the view,in this case u will end up in joining 3 more tables unnecessarily.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to make tree view in Crystal Reports

    Hi,
    We are using Crystal Reports XI R2.
    In ASP.Net, we are using tree view and same that we need display in Crystal Reports for reporting purpose.
    We have thee levels of records.
    I know the way making group by and sub group by to show in hierarchy level.
    How to achieve exact tree view in Crystal Reports as in ASP.Net
    Please give me some suggestions.
    Thanks and regards,
    Manjunath N. Jogin

    Create the report first.

  • Reuse Crystal report Viewer For different reports - unload cache

    So I am migrating from crystal reports basic to crystal reports 2008. I have hit a stumbling block. Rather than have a new page and report viewer for each report I decided it would be easier to have one report viewer and send to it in session variables the report I wish to run and appropriate parameters. This seemed to work fine in CR basic.
    Now I have upgraded the viewer works fine for the first report I run however it then caches this report and doesn't seem to clear it down, if the new report has different parameters I will get a parameter error. If I run a report requiring the same parameters I will get the original report not an updated one.
    I believe I need to leave the CrystalReportSource cache on in order to page the report (correct me if I am wrong)
    I have taken a few snippets of code, is this possibly running too late in page life cycle have I missed something or is there a way to force a cache clear:
    protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) {
    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = report;
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem1, dcItem1, "@year", year);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem2, dcItem2, "@school", school);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem3, dcItem3, "@division", division);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem4, dcItem4, "@progArea", progArea);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem5, dcItem5, "@type", SessionHandler.record_type);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem6, dcItem6, "@filterText", "School = \'" + school +
                                                            "\' Division = \'" + division
                                                            + "\' Programme Area = \'" + progArea
                                                            + "\' Record Type = \'" + SessionHandler.record_type_text + "\'");
    CrystalViewer.ParameterFieldInfo = paramFields;
    private void SetupLogonInfo(CrystalReportSource CrystalRepSource)
            TableLogOnInfo logOnInfo = new TableLogOnInfo();
            logOnInfo = CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Database.Tables[0].LogOnInfo;
            ConnectionInfo connectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();
            connectionInfo = logOnInfo.ConnectionInfo;
            connectionInfo.DatabaseName = Application["db"].ToString();
            connectionInfo.ServerName = Application["server"].ToString();
            connectionInfo.Password = Application["pass"].ToString();
            connectionInfo.UserID = Application["user"].ToString();
            CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Database.Tables[0].ApplyLogOnInfo(logOnInfo);
        private void AddParam(ParameterFields paramFields, ParameterField pfItem, ParameterDiscreteValue dcItem, string fieldName, string value)
            pfItem.ParameterFieldName = fieldName;
            dcItem.Value = value;
            pfItem.CurrentValues.Add(dcItem);
            paramFields.Add(pfItem);

    ok so I have tried changing the code to:
    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@school", school);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@division", division);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@progArea", progArea);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@type", SessionHandler.record_type);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@filterText", "School = \'" + school +
                                                            "\' Division = \'" + division
                                                            + "\' Programme Area = \'" + progArea
                                                            + "\' Record Type = \'" + SessionHandler.record_type_text + "\'");
    private void Page_Unload(object sender, EventArgs e)
            try
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.DataSources.Clear();
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.Parameters.Clear();
                    //CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Close();
                    //CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Dispose();
                    CrystalRepSource.Dispose();
                    CrystalViewer.Dispose();
                    GC.Collect();
            catch { }
    I experimented with various bits in the page unload as you can see I have commented a bit out at present as it was throwing an exception. The SetParametersValue while handy (will clean the code up a bit) didn't make any difference I am still getting the same issue.

  • How to open the crystal reports 2008 in CRYSTAL REPORTS ENTERPRISE 4.0

    Hi All,
    Can you please let me know how can migrated the crystal reports from BO XI 3.1 to SAP BO 4.1 and after migrate how to open the crystal reports 2008 in CRYSTAL REPORTS ENTERPRISE 4.0.
    can you please help on this and if document please share.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Use the upgrade management tool to move from 3.1 reports to BO 4.1. After migration, open the report in crystal enterprise 4.0, you will get a message saying that the report will be converted to latest version, will not be able to view from older version after converting. (Similar words- not sure exact words).

  • Cannot Extract Embedded Font in PDF Report Generated Using Crystal Reports XI

    The issue is that sometimes the PDF reports generated by Crystal Report XI are not showing the fonts properly. Arial font is used in the Crystal report template(.rpt file) for field label and data elements. When the report is opened in Adobe Reader, it displays the message - "Cannot extract the embedded font 'AAAAAA+ArialBold'. some characters may not display or print correctly." Other PDF Readers like Foxit show blank spaces instead. I tried to change the font to Courier New, Times New Roman etc but still getting the same message.
    The issue is consistent when the application is deployed in Windows server. When deployed in Unix server the issue happens very occasionally. The font files are available and installed in the UNIX box.
    Please tell me why this error message is shown and also tell me how to get it fixed.

    Hi Scot
    Just replied to your email re. conf call.
    In the meantime.
    1st question.
        Some of our developers are creating the reports under crystal 2008, while some are 2011.
        Could this be a problem, when they are run by the SDK?
        Should we upgrade all our developers to crystal 2011?
    The version of CR a report is created in should not matter at all. I am 100% certain this is not the issue.
    2nd question
        When the report is run, to create the pdf... why would it actually embed the font on the pdf?
        if they weren't embedded.. wouldn't it just pull up the proper font, if the user's pc had that font on their
        pc?
        if it does the common fonts aren't embedded, we would just have to worry about the things like
        barcode 3 of 9
    I can not answer this as that essentially is the way the product is designed. It may look like a limitation, but there are no work-arounds and I would not consider this to be a bug. Perhaps an enhancement, but a pretty faint hope there. And even if, enhancements take very, very low priority and take long, long time before implementation.
    3rd question
        Would the fonts, just need to be installed on the server?   we've seen some indication, that they
        also need to be in a java sub-directory
    The fonts must be on the server as that is where the report engine does it's work, then the report is streamed to the user's browser. E.g.; there is no work done on the browser. Also, the process must have rights to access the fonts.
    One last point. You mention deployment to Linux. Linux is not supported. Please see: SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Microsoft Visual Studio - Supported Platforms
    I suspect this is more an issue with CR not working with the framework for Linux.

  • Difference between Crsytal Report 2011 and Crystal Report for Enterprise 4

    difference between Crystal Report 2011 and Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.0?
    I think Crystl Reprt 2011 has more function, is it right?

    Hi,
    I recently attended a SAP Virtual trianing on SAP Business Objects BI 4.0.
    Here are few extracts from that which probably shows some light to you:
    SAP Crystal Reports 2011
    1. UI and associated processing servers remain the same as CR 2008
    2. Incremental update to CR 2008 with a few new features*
    3. Continue to provide current CR 2008 functionality as-is for existing customers
    SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0
    1. Major update & redesign of the Crystal Reports Designer and associated processing servers
    2. Focus on streamlined report design, reporting against BI 4.0 Universe, & reporting against SAP BW data
    3. Provide the foundation for all future releases of Crystal Reports
    Differences between these two releases:
    Data Source & Usage Type                                       General Recommendation
    1. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0                                        SAP Crystal Reports Relational Universe (UNX) for Enterprise
    OLAP Universe (UNX)
    2. SAP NetWeaver BW 7 BEx Query (BICS)                    SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise
    3. SAP NetWeaver BW 3.5 BEx Query                             SAP Crystal Reports 2011
    4. SAP Profitability Cost Management                              SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise through Analysis View
    SAP Strategy Management
    SAP Budget, Planning and Consolidation
    SAP Extended Analytics
    5. Platform Driven Alerting                                                SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise
    6. Business Views                                                           SAP Crystal Reports 2011
    7. Direct RDBMS or OLAP access                                    SAP Crystal Reports 2011
        SAP ERP/ Live Office Content/
        Enterprise search content

  • Migration from Crystal Reports 2008 to Crystal reports Enterprise(BOE 4.0)

    Dear all ,
    I m currently doing a project on Crystal reports 2008 where datasource is mostly SAP BW queries.  Our customer will have BOE 4.0 in coming months .  I have heard that in BOE 4.0 Crystal reports for Enterprise will be a better option for BW datasources.Is that true? So here comes my question , Is  it possible to migrate reports based on Crsytal reports 2008 to Crystal reports for Enterpise 4.0  afterwards. What will be best option for us , shall we build further reports on Crystal reports 2008 or Crystal reports 2011 or should wait until we have BOE 4.0 ?
    Thanks
    Best regards
    Atul

    Hi,
    We are going through the migration process from 2008 to Enterprise version. The only issue we are facing is the mapping of the Hierarchy nodeid and parentid. Other than that we were able to migrate most of the pieces from the report.
    Here is the overview of migration process:
    1. When you run the upgrade manager to migrate objects from BOE 3.1 to 4.0 it will automatically upgrade it to CR 2011 version.
    2. You then have option to migrate it manually by opening the report in Enterprise version.
    3. If you open the report in Enterprise version it will prompt you to connect to common semantic layer wizard.
    4. Before that you have to have your datasource ready for that report depends on how your CR 2008 is connected. (can be BEx query or Relational Universe)
    5. If its BEx query you have to maintain the connection in CMC under OLAP connection to your BW system.
    6. Next thing is to map the Source fields to Target fields (BEx query or Relation Universe via IDT) and your report will be converted to Enterprise version.
    7. You might have to resolve if there are any errors.
    Let me know if you have any particular questions if i can help.
    Thanks.
