Printer creation in R/3

Kindly provide me this information :
There is one printer already running in SAP system with default as Tray 1 . Now my requirement is to create new logical destination of same printer but using tray 2 such that one set of stationary (say new stationary) should be fed from tray 1 and the new stationary through Tray 2.
What should be the procedure to do so ?
Thanks

Reason and Prerequisites
Information requirement - problem solutions required
If the choice of the paper tray is part of the problem note the differences in the paper tray selection between ABAP lists/SAPscript/SmartForms in the Notes 42565, 143375, and 189618.
Solution
HP LaserJet 4050  SAPscript print on DIN A5 from tray 1:
You want to print a SAPscript form on DIN A5 from tray 1. The used device type in the SAP system is HPLJ4, HPLJ5 or HPLJ4000.
Paper tray number 1 of the HP LaserJet 4050 is the upper paper tray (multi-purpose tray) in which paper of any size can be inserted. While inserting the printer prompts you for information on the paper size (DIN A5). If the size is not entered correctly the print from the SAP system cannot work from this tray.
Required settings in the print menu:
To ensure that tray 1 can be addressed from the tray selection of the SAP system as any other paper tray of the printer set entry 'Tray 1 mode=cassette' in menu 'PAPER HANDLING MENU' if not this tray would play a 'special role' and thus could not be addressed correctly.
The default page format of the printer must not be set to A5 if other page formats are used in other paper trays. In menu 'PRINT MENU' set entry 'PAPER=A4'.
If the conditions mentioned above are fulfilled no paper tray selection is required in the SAPscript form if the SAP Release is 4.5A or higher and if the page format in the SAPscript form is set to DIN A5. In such a case the printer receives the command for selecting page format DIN A5 from the HPL2 and automatically selects tray 1. If tray 1 is empty the printer prompts you to insert A5 paper in tray 1.
Note: In Releases lower than 4.5A, the HPL2 printer driver does not send a PLC-5 command for paper size selection in the case of paper format DIN A5 thus the procedure mentioned above does not work.
Solution: Copy and modify the device type and enter the PCL-5 command
\el25A in the INIT action of the DIN A5 formatting . This command selects page format DIN A5.
HP LaserJet 4050  SAPscript print on DIN A5 from tray 2 or 3:
You want to print a SAPscript form from tray 2 on paper format DIN A5. The used device type in the SAP system is HPLJ4, HPLJ5 or HPLJ4000. (The described solution for tray 2 can be analogously used for DIN A5 in tray 3.)Paper tray 2 of HP LaserJet 4050 is the upper paper cassette in which paper of the following sizes can be inserted: letter, legal, executive, DIN A4, CUSTOM. The paper cassette is adjustable and must be correspondingly adjusted. The printer automatically identifies the current paper size via a sensor.
The actual problem with the LJ 4050 is that paper size CUSTOM must be used for printing on DIN A5 paper.
Required settings in the SAPscript form:
The form requires page format INCH8 and not DIN A5.
Required settings in the printer menu:
The default page format of the printer must not be set to A5 or CUSTOM. In menu 'PRINT MENU' entry 'PAPER = 4' must be set.
In menu 'PRINT MENU' the following entries must be set to setup the paper format CUSTOM for DIN A5 paper format:
'conf.custom format=yes'
'units = millimeter'
'X-size=149 millimeters'
'Y-size=209 millimeters'
Necessary changes in device type:
Copy and modify the device type HPLJ4/HPLJ5/HPLJ4000. Enter the PCL-5 command \e&l101A (selects paper size CUSTOM) in the INIT action of format INCH8.

  • Mass printer creation

    Hi All the experts,
I have a task of creating the printers over 900, Please assist me  if there is any way to create the printers at once e.g by importing from excel sheet or from template. or any other task. I need urgent solution because I have to deliver the printers to customer after 12 hrs.

    Hi,
If you have those printers already in SAP then you can
1). You can do transport all
2). You can export and Import....
    To EXPORT all output devices:
    1. Run transaction SPAD.
    2. Select Utilities -> for output devices -> Export devices.
    3. Enter a filename.
    4. Choose Frontend computer under File sytem info.
    4. Choose Export under Operation.
    5. Check Execute export under Options.
    6. Enter * in Output Device under Objects for export.
    7. Click Execute.
    To IMPORT all output devices:
    1. Repeat the steps above but choose Import and Execute import under Operation and Options respectively.
The text file generated by the export looks like this:
    VERSION = "0.1" TIME = "20050727110101" SYSTEM = "DEV" RELEASE = "620" * DEVICE = { NAME = "ariel" PADEST = "ARIE" PATYPE = "HPLJ4" PAMODEL
If the printers are not existing in SAP, then
1). You can use LSMW for mass creation of printers. LSMW steps are

  • Moved to Yosemite, now I can't print (Brother MFC-9840CDW)

    Hi there,
I've just moved to Yosemite (at the request of GoToMeeting) and I'm now unable to print.
I have a Brother MFC-9840CDW which my MacBook Pro can no longer find.
As part of the move to 10.10.1 the Brother Printer Software appears to have updated to V2.10 (shown in App Store update page).
On this Apple page it suggests the latest version is 4.5 - OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support
So I downloaded a driver from the Brother site here - http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=gb&lang=en&prod=mfc9840cdw_all
I've reset the printer settings so I'm now showing nothing in the System Preferences\Printers & Scanners.
I've restarted my Mac and the printer several times... But regardless of what I do, when I click + printer the only option I'm being shown is Adobe PDF.
    PLEASE HELP!

The printer uses a protocol called Bonjour to advertise itself on the wireless network. Many others who have upgraded to Yosemite are also finding that they can no longer see their wifi printer. At this stage I have not seen it documented as to the cause or fix for this Bonjour issue. So until such a fix is provided there is a possible workaround to attach your network printer and that is to use one of the included IP protocols in OS X. To do this you must determine the IP address of your printer. Once you have this information you can open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add. With the Add printer window displayed and the Default view showing, click on the IP icon. Then enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, change the Protocol to HP Jetdirect and leave the Queue blank. You can then change the Name to something more meaningful than the IP address and in the Use menu, select the Brother MFC-9840CDW driver. Click the Add button to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print.

  • My Macbook pro OS 10.10.2 suddenly will not communicate with my Cannon MX890 printer.  I reset all printers and now I cannot seem to add a printer by using the Add a printer function.  Ideas?

My Macbook pro OS 10.10.2 suddenly will not communicate with my Cannon MX890 printer.  I reset all printers and now I cannot seem to add a printer by using the Add a printer function.  Ideas?

The appearance of the printer in the Default view of the Add printer window relies on a protocol called Bonjour. There have been quite a few users who upgraded to Yosemite only to find that their wifi printer is no longer visible. Until Apple resolves this issue you can add your printer using the LPD protocol. To do so you will need to determine the IP address being used by the MX890. This can be done via the touch panel under Device Settings > Network Settings.
Once you learn the IP address then on the Mac you can click to add the printer and select the IP icon. Here you can enter the IP address, set the Protocol to Line Printer Deamon and leave the Queue field blank. Then change the name to Canon MX890 and in the Use menu, browse for the Canon MX890 series driver. Then click Add to complete the printer creation.

  • Connecting to USB connected printer via LPD

    Hi there,
Does anyone know if you can access a USB attached printer using the LPD protocol? I cannot find this in the Time Capsule documentation.
I'm helping a Yosemite user where Bonjour is not working and thus the USB connected printer is not being advertised in order to add it.
How to get Yosemite to see new printer driver for Canon via Bonjour
For other brands, the USB port has a name like Port1 or PR1. So I would like to know if the Time Capsule supports such a connection.
    Thanks
    PaHu

Hello PAHU. I'm thrilled to have run across you on the Apple site. Your post (below) is exactly what I need help with:
"Rather than use Bonjour, which seems to have a problem for some users who have updated to Yosemite, you can use one of the IP protocols included with OS X. To do so you will need to find the IP address the printer is using. If you need help with that, reply with the model of Canon you have.
With the IP address noted, open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add. Select the IP icon and enter the Canon IP address in the Address field. Change the Protocol to LPD and leave the Queue blank. Change the Name to the model of Canon and then in the Use menu, select the appropriate Canon driver for your model. Click the Add button to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print."
Kindly please tell me how to find my printer's IP address. I am desperately trying to reconnect to my Canon PIXMA MP500 since upgrading to Yosemite. I will be in your debt!
    Thank you most kindly!

  • Kyocera Copystar 3551ci no longer working with Yosemite 10.1.1

First time questioner, so please bear with me.  My office uses a networked Kyocera Copystar 3551ci multi-function copier/printer.  I upgraded my mid-2011 MacBook Pro to Yosemite when it was first released and have done all updates -- currently at 10.10.1.  Additionally, before going on vacation I was using the most recent TaskAlfa 3551ci driver (released for Mavericks) and all was working fine.  Returned to work yesterday after a month -- tried to print and my MacBook could not connect to the printer.  I checked the Kyocera driver download support page, and sure enough there was a new Mac driver (released 12/3).  I downloaded and installed it, but the printer still would not connect -- in System Preferences it had the "yellow light."  After several attempts I deleted the printer intending to re-add it, but now in System Preferences the printer is not detected at all.  Does anyone have any clue as to how to remedy this?  I did all the standard things -- reboot printer, reboot MacBook, etc.  I am not in my office today, but will try calling Kyocera tech support tomorrow.  However, my last experience with them regarding printing from a Mac was less than stellar -- the tech support person I spoke with had no clue how to do anything on a Mac, and neither did anyone else he tried to consult.  So I'm hoping someone here has had a similar experience and found a solution.  (By the way, I have a small inexpensive Canon inkjet printer as a backup on the same network, and it works just fine.  Also co-workers were not having any problems printing to the Kyocera.)  Thank you!

For the printer to be visible in the Default view when you select to add a printer, the device has to support an advertising protocol such as Bonjour. There are many office multifunction printers that don't support this protocol. If it does support Bonjour, then there are users who upgraded to Yosemite that have found that Bonjour is not working and thus cannot see the advertised printer. The workaround is to add the printer manually and to do this you must determine what IP address the printer has. This can often be found via the control panel of the copier.
Once you have the IP address, then open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add. With the Default view displayed, click the IP icon. Enter the IP address of the copier and change the protocol to HP Jetdirect-Socket. Leave the Queue blank and change the Name from the IP address to something you prefer, such as Kyocera Copystar. Leave the Location blank and then in the Use menu, browse for the 3551ci driver. With this information set, click the Add button to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print again.

  • HP Laserjet p1505n doesn't work over network with Yosemite

Ever since upgrading the machines in my house (Mac Pro, iMac, MBPretina, MBAir) to Yosemite, I have not been able to use the network attached Laserjet p1505n that used to work flawlessly under 10.9.  It doesn't appear in the printer tab in System Prefs where it used to pop up.  Anyone have any experience with this?  The printer will install via USB just fine on the Mac Pro, MBPRetina, etc.  Thanks!

To see the printer in the Default view of the Add printer window, a protocol called Bonjour is used by the printer and Mac. This protocol is having issues for some users who have upgraded to Yosemite. Until the issue is resolved you may be able to use one of the IP protocols to connect to the networked printer. To do so you will need to find the IP address being used by the printer. If the LJ-P1505n has a control panel, you may be able to generate a report showing the network settings.
Once you have the IP address you can open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add a printer. Then click on the IP icon and enter the IP address of the HP in the Address Field. In the Protocol field, change to HP Jetdirect-Socket and in the Queue field, leave this blank. You can then change the Name from the IP address to LJP1505n and in the Use menu, select the P1505n printer. Click the Add to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print.

  • Yosemite won't recognise CanonMG7150 - please help!

Had a problem with my internet connection, restored it, and now suddenly I can't print. I am running 10.10.3. I removed the printer from the list, and tried to add it as new, including reinstalling the drivers downloaded from Canon. The printer says it is connected, but does not appear in the 'add printer' list. The Library printer folder is empty. I am now at a complete loss and have some papers to print for a meeting tomorrow. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

If the MG is not appearing in the Add Printer list then you may have an issue with Bonjour, which is a protocol used on the Mac to discover network devices. A workaround is to add the printer by entering its IP address. To do this you will have to learn what IPv4 address the MG is using. This can be done via the control panel of the MG - Setup > Device Settings > LAN Settings > Wireless LAN Setup > WLAN Settings List
Once you know the IPv4 address you can select to add the printer via Printers & Scanners, but with the Default view displayed select the IP icon. Then enter the IPv4 address, set the Protocol to Line Printer Deamon and enter a Queue name of LP. Change the Name from the IPv4 address to Canon MG7150 WiFi and browse for the MG7100 series driver in the Use menu. Click Add to complete the printer creation and see if this will print.
Note that since you added the printer when it was connected via USB cable you will have to printers. That is why I suggested you add the word WiFi to the network printers name, so you know which printer to use when you need to print.

  • I can't install the canon irc2380i

I can't install the canon irc2380i printer on my macBook pro, OS 10.9.4- Thx for help

The iR series support Canon's proprietary UFR2 printer language by default. So this would be the preferred driver to use if you are not sure if the optional Postscript print kit is installed in the copier.
The iR C2380 does not support Bonjour, so you will need to know the IP address of the copier to add it to the Mac. So after you install this driver, select to add the printer and press the IP icon in the Add printer window. Then enter the IP address of the iR C2380, set the protocol to HP Jetdirect-Socket (important), leave the queue name blank and select "Canon iR C2380/2550" in the Use menu. Then click Add to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print.

  • Canon MG3550 driver for Yosemite

Printer can not be found since updating to Yosemite.
    Please help.

A protocol called Bonjour is used to advertise the printer on your local network. If you don't see the MG in the Add printer window, then like other users who upgraded to Yosemite, you have a problem with Bonjour. Until a fix is supplied by Apple you can add your printer using the LPD protocol. To do so you will have to determine the IPv4 address being used by the MG. This can be determined via the control panel on the MG via Device Settings > Network Settings > WLAN Details. Once you have the IPv4 address, open Printers & Scanners and select to add. Then click the IP icon and enter the IPv4 address of the MG. Set the Protocol to Line Printer Daemon and leave the Queue field blank. Change the Name to MG3550 and select the Canon MG3500 series driver in the Use menu. Click Add to complete the printer creation. Now open a document to see if you can print to it.

  • HP Laserjet P1505n: network configuration lost

    Hi.
In my work I meet many HP Laserjet P1505n. These printers often lose their configuration and they become unreachable whit their ip. If I print a page-configuration (pressing the green button), no page is printed. I have to reset (pressing red+green button while turning on) and setup the printer. This happens a few times until the reset does not work anymore.

  • Customize subfolder structure

    Hi all,
I'm in the process of migrating from Aperture to Lightroom. As I may have expected I am encountering some issues related to the different logic Lightroom has with regards to some actions.
One that is puzzeling me is: "how far is the subfolder structure (at import time) customizable"? I'd really love to replicate the folder structure I have finalized after some years of tests and thinking.
Currently I'm using the location where I took the picture as the key part both of the file name and the subfolder structure. Let's assume I took a picture in London on May 1st, 2013. When importing the images I'd like Lightroom to put the image in the following structure:
    Master
         + 2013
              + London
                  + 20130501_London
                        - 20130501_London_0001.dng
Getting the right filename is fairly easy, but the problem is in the Folder structure. Even assuming I'm available to put the folder into the correct year manually (which I wouldn't like to do), I have no clue on how to tell Lightroom to put the imaged taken a certain day under a folder called YYYYMMDD_location
The reason why I use this structure is because I can always tell when and where I took a picture from the name and have all of them neatly organized in a subfolder structure that is providing the same details.
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks

You get this sort of output, which is Postscript commands, when you use a Postscript driver to a printer that does not support the Postscript printing language.
I'm having trouble locating information about this LBP6500 but I would guess that it supports one of Canon's proprietary printer languages like UFR2 or CAPT. The driver you downloaded would indicate the supported printer language. Also, you could look at the Windows computers to determine which Canon printer driver they are using - I'm confident it won't be Postscript.
So the solution is to create the printer again, but this time you will need to manually select the LBP6500 driver that you have installed instead of using the  Generic Postscript driver that is included with OS X. First step is to remove the current printer that is using the Generic Postscript driver. (If you use Eric's ill informed printer reset then this will have already removed all printers on your Mac) Next step is to click the plus button to add the printer and enter the correct network details as before. Then, if OS X auto selects the Generic Postscript driver again, you need to click on this drop menu and click "Select Software". This will present the Printer Software window where you can browse for the LBP6500. Once found, select it and click the OK button. Then click the Add button to complete the printer creation. Now you should be able to print correctly.

  • If i purchase Adobe Photography for 9.99 and I stop service a year later, would I lose my Lightroom program?

I currently  have LR 3, and instead of just buying the upgrade I am considering buying the package of LR and PS for 9.99 a month. What if in 6 months or a year or longer, that I decide I must discontinue my monthly payments. Does that mean the versions of lightroom that I have on my computer will end in a period of time?  For example I have paid maybe 120.00 over a years time so would I keep the version of LR I have to continue to use without updates?

What Michael said: What happens to Lightroom after my membership ends?
Lightroom 5 Cloud version can still be launched with limited features which effectively make it a viewer only.
"...at the end of a membership, the desktop application will continue to launch and provide access to the photographs managed within Lightroom as well as the Slideshow, Web, Book or Print creations that we know many photographers painstakingly create. The Develop and Map modules have been disabled in order to signal the end of the membership and the need to renew in order to receive Adobe’s continuous innovation in those areas. Access to Lightroom mobile workflows will also cease to function."
