Printer does not see new network in Setup Assistant - Photosmart C4385

I changed routers, so have a new network SSID. Have pinter connected to a Mac with USB cable. Want to set up wireless access to printer. In HP Setup Assistant the error message first says "No WiFi Network Discovered". I try the option to type in teh name of teh network but receive error message "Network Unavailable - The selected Wi-Fi network "(my network name)" is not within reach of the device. But the printer is only 25 feet from the touter and immediately next to the Mac which is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
In Wireless menu I selected "Wireless Radio ON". TEst configuration page shows Radio On, Radio Working, but Network Name (SSID) Not applicable.

  • Easy Photo Print does not see Aperture files

I have a Canon MP640 printer, which gives me really poor results when used with Aperture (3.1.3) so I have been using the print software that came with my printer (Easy photo print EX).  The problem with Easy PhotoPrint, is that this software does not see my Aperture files, even though I have turned on the “View in finder” feature in Aperture.  Can anyone  tell me how to configure my system, so that Easy PrintPhoto will see my files, without having to export every time I want to print

Ahh ok, that function File->Show In Finder shows the current selection in the finder if it is a referenced image. That's all it does, it doesn't cause any permanent changes to any settings in Aperture or the Finder. Why you couldn't see your referenced files in the finder before clicking this and now you can is a mystery and a coincidence and will do nothing to enable other programs from accessing the images in the library.
As for turning off color management when you print from Aperture, in the print dialog under the Rendering section
when you open the Color Profile you can select  Printer Managed.
Once you set it to Printer Managed you'll see the warning change from Turn off in Printer to Turn on in Printer
Might be worth a shot if you haven't try it yet.

  • New macbook does not "see" my network, old macbook pro and iphones do...

Yesterday I installed an upgrade to my airport extreme base station, now my macbook pro and the 2 iphones in the household see the wifi network but the other macbook does not. It does see the neighbors wifi networks and will see it when I connect via a cable to the base station by no wireless connection... help!

I am having a similar problem. I have 19 iBooks in a classroom and, suddenly, none of them can see the AirPort Express network when they log on. Instead, the iBooks try to connect to a Windows-based school network. I have designated the AEBS network as the only preferred network but the iBooks NEVER try to connect to it first. However, if you click on the AirPort icon in the menu bar, the AEBS network is clearly visible and clicking on it immediately connects you to the AEBS network.
When I originally set up the network in January, everything worked just fine. After the upgrade to AE Firmware 5.7 and various OS X 10.4.5 updates, everything has gone downhill. I had the dropped signal problem that so many have reported. I downgraded to AE Firmware 5.5.1 and followed J. Exby's procedure to upgrade the AEBS framework. That solved the dropped signal problem. But now my iBooks cannot find the AEBS network when they log in.
I have set the AirPort Network Preferences to connect Automatically or to Preferred Networks with the same result. I have also set the option to "Keep looking for recent networks" and it never finds our AEBS network. Yet, the network can be accessed manually through the AirPort icon.
BTW, I use one of the iBooks myself and it works perfectly and finds my preferred network in 2 other locations with non-AEBS networks. But it cannot see its own preferred network in school.
This is really bugging my students--and me! Any suggestions? THANKS!

  • Adobe Reader does not see all network printers

    Hi,
Any help on below would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you
    Issue:
When printing from Adobe Reader not all network printers appear in the list of printers
All other applications (notepad, word, excel, powerpoint) see all printers and are able to print
    Tried:
Drivers: Xerox model specific drivers, universal drivers, global print drivers
    Print Processors: Xerox, winprint
    Remapped / added printers
    Uninstalled/installed printers to print servers
Print servers: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012
    Current Environment:
    Windows 7 SP1 x64

         Xerox GPD PCL6 V3.3.3347.6.0
    Print Processor
         Winprint.dll

I also have this problem that Adobe Reader will not print, but this only occurred for me after installation of MS Office 2010.
The proposed solution of changing default printers does not work for me!
Does anybody have a real explanation as to what causes this problem and a real solution for it?
I have already tried re-installing Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and this had no effect. I am using Windows XP with SP3.
    thanks for any help ....

  • AX does not creat new network?

Trying to set up 2 AX to extend an existing wireless network (created by an modem/router), I instead chose to have one AX create a new network and have the second AX extend the one created by AX 1. Ax #1 - BASE - is connected to the router by cable, and is configured to create a new network. Configuration is fine - Green light and no problems. However - no new network can be found. My MacBookPro only finds the original network created by the router - not anything created by the AX.

Please check your settings on AX#1 using AirPort Utility - Manual Setup.
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Wireless Mode - Create a Wireless Network
Wireless Network Name - Your choice
Check mark next to Allow this network to be extended
    Channel - Automatic
    Radio Mode - Your choice
    Security - Your choice
    Password - Your choice
Now click the Internet icon at the top of the page
Connection Sharing at the bottom of the next page must be set to "Off (Bridge Mode)"
    Update to save settings
On AX#2 AirPort Utility - Manual Setup
Wireless Mode - Extend a wireless network
Wireless Network Name - Select the network created by AX#1
Check mark next to Allow wireless clients
Security - Exact same setting as AX#1
Password - Exact same setting as AX#1
Please post back on your results.

  • Win7 install does not see new hard drive (640gb Samusung) on MacBook Pro

Replaced MBP 5,4 (mid 2009) hdd with a Samsung HM641JI 640gb drive. OS X installation went fine using SL install disk, updated software to 10.6.4. Problem is with Windows 7 installation using Boot Camp. Partition is created (tried 32 to 300 gb). Windows 7 install disk loads but after "Install now" and accepting license agreement, it does not recognize the drive or any partitions. XP install works fine. Had same Win7 problem with 2 identical hdds and 3 different install disks which were full version, not upgrades. Installed Win7 using boot camp on 320 gb Samsung drive (also 3.0gb/s SATA) without a problem. Tried formatting the bootcamp partition on the 640 gb drive to NTFS, but still not recognized. Any suggestions?

Odd you can't see anything. I'd use Windows 7 recovery tools to do a full initialize and map out bad blocks if necessary. Or initialize from OS X drive and then do full slow format etc from Windows DVD.
Every drive vendor has their own linux/dos/windows utility to recertify and test sectors and does a better job than anyone else's. WD Lifeguard for all my WD drives, can be very handy.

  • FCE does not see new files

I Have recently purchased a HD camcorder (panasonic HDC TM900) the first couple of times I used it and connected it to my Imac I was able to transfer footage without any problem using the Log and Transfer however. I have used the camera a little more and now when I connect it Iphoto opens up. I then close it and open FCE and find that the 2 existing files are shown but not any after that. Can I set it so that FCE opens rather the Iphoto and why can I not see my new footage?

    Hi,
Next time iPhoto launches go to File>Preferences>General and set Connecting camera opens to No application, as shown below.
I don't know if this will sort out the missing video issue but it will stop iPhoto launching.

  • Printer does not recognize new ink cartridges

The printer stopped printing in black even though I did not receive a low ink indicator.  I checked the display screen and there was nothing showing in the black or photo columns.  The cyan, magenta, and yellow all have colors showing with a yellow warning triangle toward the top.  I went ahead and replaced both the black cartridge (564XL ) and the photo cartridge (564).  The display screen still does not indicate an ink level in either slot and it does not print in black.

Hi - First question - are you using HP cartridges or are they refills.  If they are refills, you'll want to try an genuine HP cartridge.  If you are using HP cartridges, try resetting the printer:
    Reset the printer:
    CAUTION:
Do NOT perform any other type of reset on the printer before the ink initialization process has been completed.
Without turning the power off, remove the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall socket.
Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to the printer and to the wall socket. Turn the unit on if it is not already turned on.
Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
    Hope that helps.

  • Powerbook does not see home network

Hi, my powerbook has simply stopped seeing ANY networks in my apartment. I have an iMac G5 and a Desktop G4 and they both see my airport express and my neighbors networks no problem. I took the laptop into a store the other day and it saw the store's network immediately and worked fine - i took laptop home and it worked for about 5 mins before shutting off again. Very odd. Can anyone help? All three machines are running 10.4.3
    Many thanks,
    Carl
    PowerBook G4 titanium   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Can't test this out here at home, but I did some searching and found:

    as well as:

The main thing what seems to be the case here is that you need to identify on your Mac what the Windows workgroup name is you use.
    You do this as follow:
System Preferences (under the Apple icon) -> select the network adapter you use to connect to your network, I will assume here because its a laptop that you use wireless, so make sure "Airport" is selected. At the bottom you will also see a small lock (left-bottom corner), make sure it is unlocked and if not click on it to unlock it. Now click on "Advanced" to go to the advanced configuration of your Airport and there click on the WINS tab. For WorkGroup, enter the Workgroup name of your home network. If you don't know what it is, then on your Windows computer right-click on "My computer", click on "Properties" and then go to the "Computer Name" tab. It will tell you there.
So enter that workgroup name on the Mac, click on OK and then on "Apply". Wait for a little while and then in the Finder sidebar (on the left), under Shared you should see your Windows PCs appear.
If you do not see the Shared in the sidebar, go to the Preferences of the Finder (Finder -> Preferences), go the the Sidebar pane and make sure "Connected Servers" and "Bonjour" are selected.
If it works then I would suggest you go and also do this for your Ethernet network adapter as the WINS setting would not be filled in there yet, this will ensure that when you connect your MPB using wired that you will still have the Windows stuff.
Hope this helps, sadly not something I can test here so I hope that my information is accurate.

  • Macbook does not see new hard drive

I have one of the first black macbooks...
    Intel Core Duo
    2GHZ
    2mb L2 Cache
    2GB RAM
    667 MHz bus
    Boot ROM Version: MB11.0061.B03
    SMC Version 1.4f12
I had an 80GB HD in it that has died.  I decided to replace it with a WD Scorpio Blue 160GB.
I've booted to the optical drive and went into Disk Utility to format the new drive but the computer would not recognize the drive.  So I formatted it with another computer using a USB enclosure.  I put the new HD back and still not recognized.
I then went ahead and installed Snow Leopard on the new drive via USB enclosure, using the macbook I would eventually put the drive into.
Now when I put the new drive, with the OS installed, still not reco

Let us resume the required steps, after putting inside a new, virgin disk:
    1. Start up machine and as soon as possible put CD/DVD, press key C to force boot from CD; if the sequence is not fast enough and machine passed over the initial phase, and ? was displayed, force shut down by pressing button key, then start again, with CD/DVD inside
    2. Press key C after start, and wait until the Apple logo in displayed, wait
    3. You will see a list of install language, choose one, and
    4. Go to Apple bar and choose Disk Utility; on the left side, you will see the disk, select it, then, on the cenral-lower part of displayed windows go to Options and choose Apple Partition Map (APM), go back and choose, if not already chosen by default, Mac OS Extended Journaled (HFS+), 1 partition (or more, some prefer more than one), click to partiion/erase disk. Note that you MUST have both conditions achieved: APM and HFS+
    5. Close Disk Utility and revert to installation proper, proceed.
If you do not see the disk on the left side of Disk Utility, then disk is damaged or badly connected.
P.S. The same procedures are applied to any disk, with the note that:
    - for Intel Macs, partition map should be GUID, not APM
    - for external disks or flash drives intended to smoothly work with Windows, format should be FAT 32 and Master Boot Record; NTFS may be done with an additional utility like NTFS-3G or NTFSmounter

  • Migration Assistant Problem: Old MacBook Pro does not see new MacAir

I have a brand new MacAir (OSX 10.7 and a 4 year old Macbook Pro (OSX 10.6)...trying to use Migration Assistant using Wifi, they're both on my network, but the new MacAir can "see" the old Macbook, but the old Macbook doesn't "see" the new MacAir...the wheel just keeps spinning as it tries to find another computer to migrate to but it just never sees it.  What am I doing wrong or what can I do to fix this problem?  Thanks!

Sounds like there are two issues:
    1.  The Migration should start from the "To" computer asking for the stuff from the "From" computer.  Sounds like you're doing it the other way.
    2.  The MacBook Air isn't visible.  Correct that by going to System Preferences ---> Sharing on your MacBook Air and see if things look good there.  You should at least see a message near the top starting with "Computers on your local network can access your computer ..."
