Printing envelopes with hp deskjet 3520

Envelope printing is misaligned. The tray guides align the envelope in the middle. But, the actual printing is aligned toward the right of the tray (the bottom of a full sized page, if inserted in lieu of an envelope)

  • Problem printing envelopes with HP Deskjet 6540

Printer is about 6 years old, and to print addresses on envelopes, I always had to push the blinking yellow-arrow button to restart the print job after getting a message that the paper was the wrong size.  This worked until recently, and now the printer won't print the envelope at all.
I checked the print set-up in PrintMaster (where the print job originated), and the correct envelope size was entered in inches.  The size of the envelope that is entered in the print job queue in the HP folder, however, is given in kb's.  Is this the problem?  Any ideas of how to fix this "wrong size" issue?

I too encounter the problem requiring pushing the yellow arrow button and having my #10 envelope jam.  I read in the HP support document to try tucking in the flap of the envelope.  After doing this I still find that I have to hit the yellow arrow, but this time the envelope actually printed.  g

  • Problems printing envelopes with HP 4480 all in one

I purchased the HP 4480 all in one because I was told it would  do the job(we hold a reunion each year and write to over 110 people. However I have had nothing but trouble (30 envelopes wasted already) it jams-jams-jams) sometimes at the back and sometimes at the front lots of messy hands!! Have now started to write the envelopes which defeats the whole idea of speed. Can any one help or shall I bin the printer not a year old yet.

I've had the very same issues with printing envelopes. I'm using standard #10 envelopes, so it should not be an issue. I have a new 4480 printer coming today to replace the one I have, but I am not encouraged about what will happen since I see at least another person has had the same issue.....we"ll see what happens...

  • Printing Problems with HP DeskJet

    Hello,
I'm having problems printing to my HP DeskJet 882C. Supposedly, it is supported by the new HP Intel drivers but every time I go to print, the text comes out oddly stretched, overlapping, or cut in half. Sometimes, particularly when printing from Final Draft, the printer just stalls (at Opening Printer Connection).
I've tried reinstalling the HP drivers from the original Install DVD (for the MacBook Pro)...no love so far.

I have a DeskJet 840C bought late 2001, that I was using with a Toshiba Satellite laptop running under Windows XP Home Edition.
I bought recently a Mac Mini 1,66 GHz Intel Core Duo, and I connected the HP840C to it with USB; I have no network.
When I try to print either a Word document or a web page, I get funny print outs, sometimes not readable at all, sometimes only few lines on a page then it goes to next page, sometimes font are stretched vertically.
I downladed an up-todate driver from HP site, and now my printer runs the Mac with Gimm-Print v 5,0,0 beta 2.
    But still no improvement.
    Who can help me?
    Thank you

  • Wireless Printing issues with HP Deskjet 2540

    Hello everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with an HP Deskjet 2540 printer - it prints if I have connected it to a USB cable; however, it refuses to print if I try to print wirelessly.
I had initially solved this problem when I went to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and noticed two Deskjet 2540 series icons in a window titled 'Printers'. I ended up removing one of these icons and set the other one as a default, which seemed to temporarily solve my problem. Now, I see two icons back in this 'Printers' menu and my printer refuses to print through my wireless connection.
My printer is connected to my internet connection so I don't think there is an issue here - I also have recently installed the software for this printer to make sure there was not some sort of driver issue; however, this does not seem to give me the permanent solution I am looking for.
Any Advice? My operating system is OS X Version 10.9.5

    Hey @love2dance,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I understand you're having difficulty printing wirelessly with your HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you with this and may have some steps that will ensure you can print wirelessly from your Mac.
I recommend you start from scratch and re-do your printer install and wireless setup for best results.
Firstly, make doubly sure your printer is connected to your wireless network by doing the following:
Step one: Prepare for installationTo gather your network name (SSID) and password (WEP key or WPA passphrase), you can ask the person who originally set up your network, see the documentation that came with the router, or contact the manufacturer. HP cannot set up or change the network SSID or the password.
Make sure that you have the following requirements before you begin:
Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
WEP key or WPA security passphrase
A computer that is connected to the wireless network.
Internet access. HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL.
Your wireless-capable HP product. Place it close to the computer during the installation procedure.
A USB cable (used only during installation).
    Administrator privileges or password
Make sure the product, access point, and computer are all on, and that the computer is connecting to the wireless network.
Connect the USB Cable to the rear port of the HP product and to any USB port on the computer.
Exit all applications running on your computer.
    Source
Secondly, prepare your Mac by removing any existing printers added:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Scan from the View menu.
Click the "-" (Remove printer) button.
Next, click here to download and install your printer's software.  As you work your way through the setup, follow the prompts to convert your usb install to wireless.  With this setup completed successfully your wireless printing capability should be restored.
One way to preserve this wireless connection is to make sure your wireless mode/router is left on continually.  If at anytime your network connection is lost, reconnecting your printer will mean that it's being assigned a new IP address.  The significance here is that your Mac will be looking to connect with the printer at an IP address that is no longer applicable.
Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  Best of luck!

  • Network Printing issues with HP DeskJet 3054A

Basically I'm not able to get past the wireless setup - I get the unable to find  printer error.  I've tried to set it up with and without the USB cable. I was able to print using the USB cable, but not wirelessly.  I used the WPS option to connect my printer to my network, both by pushing the button, and by entering the PIN.
Ok here goes for system config...I have a ActiontecM1000 DSL modem that is connected to a netgear WNDR3400 router. From this router, I have a desktop running Windows XP connected directly.  I have several other devices connected wirelessly to the router, including a macbook pro running the most recent version of OS which was not able to connect to the printer wirelessly (just bought it last month with the Deskjet pronter).  I am currently using WPA2-PSK [AES] security without MAC filtering.
On my router screen, when I click on "Attached Devices", I am able to see the printer, and it is assigned an IP address.  Most of the documentation says to type this IP address into your web browser, but whenever I do this, I am unable to access the printer (so for whatever reason, I'm unable to communicate to this device.  I currently have my desktop, macbook, 2 work laptops, an IPad, and 2 Iphones that are able to connect thru this router, so I don't think my router is malfunctioning, although it could be some weird printer setting that needs to be done...
Some other info which people may find useful - the print out of the HP Network config page shows that there is connection, the correct SSID, signal quality 5, the same IP address as shown on my router config page, as well as the correct authentication type - actually it says WPA-PSK vs WPA2-PSK.  It also says port 9100 is enabled, and bonjour is also enabled.
The print out of the wireless network test results shows that the wireless on/working is pass, signal quality is excellent, and no other networks detected mating your network name.  I will say that after 4 hours of trying this, I had a view choice words when I saw at the top of this sheet "No problems found.  Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer."
I'm running AVG, and have attempted to disable this in the off chance that this is a firewall issue of some kind.
I've also powered off the router, the printer, and the computer to try and resync everything.
I have downloaded the "Troubleshoot HP installation failure - network" application and have attempted all 7 solutions, and have not been able to resolve the problem.
    Any assistance would be great!

Currently my actiontec M1000 does not have the wireless module (in the qwest modem configuration, it says "no wireless module detected" - when I first got the modem I called qwest to confirm the dsl modem has no wireless capability,  which is when I ended up getting the Netgear router.
Is there a point where I can get warranty service for the printer?  I'm beginning to wonder if there's just something wrong with the printer itself...

  • How can I print envelopes with Pages with my ipad2?

How may I print envelopes from my ipad2. I do have Pages .

    Hi dd,
Pages '09 offered two types of documents.
Word processing documents included a text layer, and consisted of sections made up of multiple pages. If no section breaks were inserted, a fifty page document could consist of a single section. Text could be placed directly into the text layer, and Objects could be placed on the page as Floating Objects, independent of the text, and able to make text flow around themselves, or could be placed as Inline Objects, inserted into the line of text running from beginning to end of the document, and moving with the text as it was edited.
In a Page Layout document, each page was a single section. There was no text layer, so only objects could be placed on the page. Any text had to be contained in a Text box or in a Shape. Unless grouped, each object was independent of the others.
Changing your images from Floating to Inline objects may be the key to your document rearranging issues. They can be changed back to Floating after being moved to theor new locations.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • UNABLE TO PRINT ENVELOPES WITH HP 309a

i have an HP 309a printer and I suddenly cannot print envelopes.  I have the correct size in the template but when I put the envelope (correctly) into the printer I get an error message "wrong size."  This happened recently and I suspect it might be connected with the updates.  I can still print labels so nothing is changed there.

Thank you. I'm sorry that it took so long to respond but my brand new G4's logic board failed and had to be replaced! Now when I tried to log in with my username and password at the CUPS local host site, it said that the login was wrong, Do I have to go someplace else to log into CUPs and get a new password and username?
I will try to find out what CUPS is while I wait for your response.

  • Unable to print envelopes with latest HP driver for LaserJet 4

In April I downloaded the latest HP drivers for my HP LaserJet 4 to reinstall following work on my computer.
First I was just unable to print envelopes.
I redownloaded and had same results
I have uninstalled and re-installed a number of times.
I tried a "chat" with HP that went nowhere.
I was on hold for over an hour last night -- only to be told that I should email a request for assistance. Fat Chance! Try it!
I still have the manual from when it was new. It had no answer except a Customer Service phone number which has long been shut down.
The present condition is that I am unable to print anything.
Customer Service is a sick myth.

Hello, DP Photo, sounds like a scanning issue with the software. To start I want you to completely remove the software and then reinstall the programming from the packages available on the website I am going to link you to below. Use the full-feature software if available.

  • Airport Extreme Printing Problem with HP Deskjet.

Hello ... I wonder if any helpful folks can assist me with my printing problem? I am using Tiger on a new Intel imac with a HP Deskjet 960C. This printer is listed as having the latest drivers included within Tiger and works perfectly when connected via USB so my problem I guess is not with the software....I have disconnected everything and plugged everything back together again. I also deleted the printer from the printer list within the Printer Setup Utility application.... The imac recognisies the printer and upon pressing the print button everything feels as though its just going to work. The blue barber shop scroll appears but the printer fails to kick into gear and I get the big red exclamation mark appearing in the status box .... I would really love to try and sort this annoying error ... Any ideas? Thanks. Book G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Hello jds17. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations.
Take a look at one of these iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility links, depending on which AirPort base station you have:
o 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or AirPort Express Base Station (AX)
o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also, you may find the following Apple article helpful.

  • Printing problem with HP deskjet 3050 all in one J610 series

I have a HP deskjet 3050 all in one J610 series which I am using with Windows Vista Version 6.0 (Build 6006: Service pack 2).  Connecting is by USB port.  I have not used the printer for some time, but have done all the maintence checks & it is good to go.  When I want to print a letter the only thing that gets printed is the email address which is coloured blue.  I think the problem is in the settings of the printer features.  I can print the letter in gray scale but this is not easy to read and not suitable for business dealings.
I would appreciate help with this problem.  A definition of the terms used in the printer features might help me resolve it by my self.

  • How to print envelopes with correct orientation?

    Hi all,
This one has been driving me mad and, despite many searches for help, just can't find a solution. As someone who knows their way around most IT related problems it is also very frustrating!
The problem: How to print a DL envelope using Pages (or Word come to think about it) so that the text is positioned on the envelope where you would expect it to be.
Printer: Epson Stylus Photo R800 - although I would guess this happens to any printer.
Tried: I have selected the DL Envelope setting in page setup (11x22cm)and selected landscape. The envelope is positioned in the printer so that the smaller side goes in first (too wide to go in the same way a page of A4 would go). If I select print then the address details are printed at 90° to the envelope. If I choose portrait then the whole thing is messed up with the text flowing down the page (which is now shown as 11x22).
Strangely, if I do this in Word but go to Print Preview first then print it is fine.
Best option for me is to use Address Book though and click on the 'Orientation' tab, select the landscape option and everything is OK. Pain to have to use this each time I an envelope though.
I have tried everything in pages including leaving the page set to 11x22 and trying to rotate the text but this is messy and have not found an easy way to rotate text in Pages as yet!
Has anyone a solution to this or am I simply missing something that is glaringly obvious?!!
    Thanks all, Mike

It's really easy and it's perfectly described in the Help in the chapter entitled: *Flipping and Rotating Objects*
Create a Text Box (which is an object).
Type what you want in it.
Metrics Inspector > use the rotate button or enter directly 90 in the Angle field.
We may also do that without the Inspector.
Select the Text Box Put the cursor on the top_right handle
Press Shift + cmd while we drag the handle to rotate once of 45°
    Repeat the process 45° + 45° will give a 90° rotation.

  • Printing envelope with Lexmark X204n

When I attempt to print a No 10 envelope from my Mac running Mavericks and Pages 5.2 to my Lexmark X204n the print job is mis-aligned.
The Lexmark's manual feed tray centers the envelop to the printer, but envelope is printing as if it should be on the left side of the print path. On the premise that a picture paints 1000 words here's one:
The red dotted line is the center line of a piece of legal paper (X204n can't print wider than 8.5")
The green dotted square is where the envelope is physically located by the manual feed tray
The blue dotted square is where the text prints, as if Pages/OS X/the print driver is expecting the letter to be on the left, not centered
The result of all this is that when I print an envelope all I get is the sender address located exactly where you see it here relative the green dotted square...
Is there a setting I need to tweak that will resolve this?

Feed the envelope in with the flap (folded) as the leading edge and the Page Set-up for Landscape (turned).
