Printing HTML to PS with javax.print

Hi
I'm trying to convert an .html file to .ps with javax.print.*,
but I think that I need an html printer driver that support my Flavor HTML_UTF_*
did anyone made this conversion ?
do you any idea about this driver, and when can I download it?
thanks ;)

Doc doc = new SimpleDoc(book, DocFlavor.SERVICE_FORMATTED.PRINTABLE, null);I am really new to this and have not tried printing using the print service API, but from the little JavaDoc I can understand on these classes, it seems that you are saying you'll be providing a print object that implements Printable, but then you are actually passing in a Book object, which does NOT implement Printable (It implements Pageable.).
So maybe try changing the DocFlavor to DocFlavor.SERVICE_FORMATTED.PAGEABLE ?

  • Can no longer print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer

    iPhoto 09. Cannot print selected iPhoto photo with HP printer. I select the photo from iPhoto Library, go to File>print. The screen for Print comes up with another one on top of it that is blank but with text "Print...Processing 1..OK".  Clicking OK prints from that screen "Print, Processing page 1" (on correct 3x6 photo paper in black!).
    I have run Apple Software Update. Run Permissions with problems (one: "Permissions differ on Library/Printers/h...". Have reinstalled iPhoto which has left one icon on Dock and 3 on desktop: iPhoto 07-27-19.app; iPhoto.app; iPhoto Library that I don't know what to do with with them, so just use the one on the dock which opens iPhoto Library.
    Believe I read that after reinstalling iPhoto, a plug-in (possibly third party plug-in for HP?) must be installed. I have updated my HP printer to latest driver.
    Would you advise how I can print photos in my iPhoto Library again, and also get those iPhoto icons off my desktop which only confuse me.  Thank you for your prompt attention.
    Out-of-patience Great Gramma

    Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
    3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Printing in another room with USB printer

    Printing in another room with USB printer.
    I have modem/wireless router from my ISP (my current network), a time capsule (version 2?) not currently online, an AirPort Express, a USB photo printer (Epson 2200), a recent Retina Macbook Pro.
    I would like to print photos in a room across the house. Can I accomplish it with these tools? If so, how?
    I'd like to keep the Express unit nearest the modem/router.
    Should I set up a second network?
    If Bob Timmons is out there, I've added the express to the previous formula.
    Thank you.

    If the current AirPort Express is configured to "join" the current network there, and you can move it to the desired printer location and try things out as a test......that would give you an idea about whether buying another Express would allow printing in the remote location.
    There are some real "Ifs" here. One is whether the Express can pick up a strong enough wireless signal in the remote location. The other is whether the Epson and Express are compatible with each other, since Apple does not support all USB printers.

  • How to print html text created with HTML Editor Standard?

    I would like to print the text I added with the HTML Editor Standard, using advanced printing. I have made up a Word document with a Report Query and a Report Layout, but the text pops up as html text. Also when I use HTML as output the text shows as "p strong hallo /strong /p" (but then with < and >) instead of hallo . I understand what goes wrong, but I am unable to solve it. Is there a way to work around this?
    Thanks a lot, Frits

    PrintService[] services = PrintServiceLookup.lookupPrintServices( null, null );

  • Borderless Printing Does Not Work With Epson Printer!!!!!!!!

    I have never gotten Aperture to print correctly borderless on Epson. I have an RX580 all-in-one. I set aperture up correctly in the print setup, I have tried everything and it always has a white strip on one side. I am getting fed up - any help would be appreciated. I am tired of exporting my images and then opening up in Photoshop to print - what a pain.

    I've gotten it to print to my Epson RX700 very reliably. There are several things to be aware of. First, when selecting the printer settings, make sure the paper selection is correct. If you choose matte instead of glossy premium, for example, the print will be off-center. Next, make sure the size of the paper is set correctly in the printer settings, e.g. 4x6 borderless. Once you've finished setting up the printer, in the print dialog, also make sure you have the right paper size set up (why do we need to do this in two places?) and make sure it's configured to print on the whole page, not the whole photo. Finally, there's a slider that controls the border all around the photo. Slide it all the way left until it's at zero. That should get you a nice borderless print.
    Oh, one other thing, always double-check the printer settings before making your first print. After shutting down Aperture, the next time it seems to forget my last settings. Subsequent prints should print out properly without changing settings again.
    I've never needed to use the calibrate button. If you make sure the paper type and size are set properly in print settings as well as in the print dialog, and borders are at zero, you should be set to go.

  • Print html file without seeing a print dialog box

    i need to script an action that would allow a user to print a sparcly formated html file to a printer while bypassing the normal print dialog box.
    the unix lpr command seems like it might work, but the man page only mentions PS and txt files.
    Ultimately i'd want to trigger the print action from a php script, but it could be a folder action also.
    Does anyone have any suggestions or point me in the right direction.

    lp is the right command to use but you may need to convert the html file in PDF format before printing it. Just test it. Also type man lp to see more options.
    enscript is a nice utility that may help you. man enscript for more.

  • Print preview not opening with File Print command in CS4

    I have been printing fine until recently, but now when I choose file > print in Photoshop the print preview pane does not open. The menus gray out, but that's it. If I select print from other programs (I checked Preview and Acrobat) the print dialog appears. I am working with CS4 11.0.2. on OSX version 10.6.8, printing with an Epson 2200. I tried deleting and re-adding the printer. I haven't installed anything new recently that might interfere.
    Your help would be much appreciated!

    Try a different printer driver to see if this has anythign to do with the .ppd used by epson 2200, try even adoeb pdf.
    Reset your preferences.

  • Printing in Adobe Air with css print media rule

    I am new to air and I am having a big problem with printing, I got some come snippet that triggers printing but the main problem is that the <code>window.htmlLoader</code> is passed to the addPage() and the print renders a screeshot of the first page.
    This is not what I want, I defines a media print style rule and I want the print to print some portion of the page regrding the print media rule, is there any option or help. I have a deadling, the programming with JS is not the problwm but the printing is the problem. Is there any better API that can streamline this, I am running out of time.

  • Print VI at completion, with a print dialog box??

    I'm trying to print a VI at completion, and want the user to be able to choose which printer they want to print to. Is there a way I can open the print dialog box from Labview??? (I'm relatively inexperienced with the program) Thank you!

    Not that I know of directly from LabVIEW. You could write a C code
    wrapper DLL that calls COMMDLG.DLL (the windows common dialog API
    calls) to give you the print dialog, or could write write an MFC DLL
    that uses a CPrintDialog.
    If you use MFC, then you will be writing C++ and will have to make
    sure to watch out for "decorated" names by by using the extern "C"{ }
    declaration around your function and explicitly declaring your
    function in your .def file

  • Print Preview is different with actual Print

    When I try to print a PO, the Print Preview is correct, but the actual Print is not as same as the Preview, because the Item Description row is truncated. The strange thing is that it was not truncated in the Print Preview.
    Any body has an idea?

    Hi Victor,
    There are settings in the Document Properties for each layout in PLD that can have an affect on how the layout is displayed in print preview.
    1) Open your layout in PLD
    2) Right-click on the layout and choose Display Document Properties
    3) In the Document Properties window, choose the Format tab
    The Preview Printing section changes settings when you preview the layout rather than sending directly to the printer. Try turning that option off for the document or changing the Change Size setting.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • Acrobat generates error when printer selected. Occurs with Oce printer

    "Microsoft Visuall C++
    This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way"
    This pops up whenever a user selects the Oce printer in the Print screen. Is there a fix for this?

    Hi OBTwo, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    That's the conversion process of PostScript to PDF in...
    /usr/libexec/cups/filter/
    It can have many causes, like damaged filters there, permissions, etc.
    One possible way around it until you can find a fix is to Print as a PDF, or saving it as a PDF and printing from Preview in OSX.

  • Printing infinite no. of Copies (javax.print)

    All,
    When I execute the following code, the program never seems to return and a infinite no of copies are queued for printing. All I want to do is print one copy. Can somebody please explain what's wrong here?
         DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.AUTOSENSE;
         PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
         aset.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
         aset.add(new Copies(1));
         PrintService pservice = PrintServiceLookup.lookupDefaultPrintService();
         DocPrintJob pj = pservice.createPrintJob();
         InputStream psStream = null;
         try {
              psStream = new FileInputStream("example.ps");
         } catch (FileNotFoundException ffne) {
         Doc myDoc = new SimpleDoc(psStream, flavor, null);
         try {
                   pj.print(myDoc, aset);
              } catch (PrintException e) {
    JDK-Build 1.4.0-b92, WinNT
    Printer: HP LaserJet 4050/4050N

    I don't know what your problem is, but you should add e.printStackTrace() in your catches, in case there's an exception being thrown that you're smothering.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 530S computer and a Dell Photo 926 printer. Using Firefox with the printer, how do I scan a blank form into the computer and fill it out there and then print out the completed form with the printer?

    Basically, the problem arose when I got a package from the Veterans Administration requiring me to fill out some complicated forms. Using my equipment and Firfox, I have been unable to do it.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
    == I applied for Agent Orange evaluation

    That's not really a Firefox support issue.
    Check with Dell support and ask if the scanner software is capable of saving the form as an actual form, instead of as an image as most scanners do.
