Printing in Duplex or Suplex according to user needs

Hi,
Right now we project that all the printings are in Duplex (two sides of the paper) in order to saving paper.
In order to do that we will change all the printers.
But my question is: if some user for some reason need to print in Suplex, what can he/she do? This options is not available.
Is it only available at printer level?

Discuss with devolpment team and basis team to get the functionality.
Here is the additional details as per devolpment team
For SAPSCRIPT printing, the duplex setting in transaction SPAD will not
work. The duplex print mode must be set in the SAPSCRIPT form itself.
(see attached Note #96102)
For eg: a SAPSCRIPT form with pages FIRST and NEXT, you must set this
as follows:
se71 -> Form Name> -> Pages -> FIRST/NEXT -> Print Attributes
-> Print Mode
It should be set up as follows for pages FIRST and NEXT:
FIRST: D Begin new page in DUPLEX mode (double-sided)
NEXT: Default: No change of print mode
and so on for required subsequent pages.
Your form PRINT PROGRAM has no 'NEXT' page

there is a "normal" cs5 created pdf document.
the installed cs5 pc -> i can print in duplex on every printer, without cs5 installed duplex printing not possible.
I am searching for a solution to print the pdf document in duplex mode on every printer, but only with the latest freeware version adobe xi 11.0.3.
(If i install adobe cs4 on a pc it is possible to print the document in duplex mode on a hp3525 printer, but duplex is not possible on a ricoh printer for example mpc5502.)
I cant upload the file, because its bigger than 2 mb. (5mb)
Is there anybody out there for help.

Yep, it definitely is a complicated workflow... But I'm not really sure of any other way to get from the 34" wide pattern to the home-sewing version which is split into pages and has alignment marks and whatnot. I'm very much an amateur that has figured it out as I went
I went through the page in the photo pretty thoroughly with the layer panel and I couldn't find any mystery lines... But I did find something interesting; when I click on any of the pattern lines, it shows the whole line of the pattern piece, which extends well past the edge of the artboard. So when I'm printing the poster-sized PDF to 7.5x10 pages, it's keeping all the anchor points of a line even if only a small piece of that is on the actual page.

Also, should I be keeping all the files I'm editing as .ai files and then only exporting to PDF for the very final product? I was doing that at first, but then using .pdf for the whole process didn't seem to make any difference.

SmartForm Last Page to be printed in Duplex mode

I have a requirement in PO printout where the Last page containing the Terms and Condition to be printed on Duplex mode.
Suppose the PO is taking 4 pages without Terms and condition. then the TC must be printed on the backside of the 4th page.
My smartform contains 3 Pages 'First', 'Next' and 'TC'.
If i set page 'Next' duplex then the 3rd page is getting printed on the back side of the 2nd page.
So how can i Print the TC page on the backside of the Last Page.

Configurations done at SAP gui level to print in duplex mode

Hi Gurus,
We had a requirement to convert a printer to duplex mode, we changed all the settings at SAP level( kept duplex mode in printing mode and changed device type to SWAN (as post and pre2 device types are not available) ). But still we are not able to get the desired duplex mode.
Is there are any further settings or something done in server?
Is there any settings done at SAP gui to get the print as duplex from a report?

Print in duplex mode

Hi experts,
I need to print on duplex mode ABAP list documents. My printer works with HPLJ4 PCL5 driver (ricoh Aficio 3045) on SAP but when i try to print on duplex mode (the printer properties are set to print on duplex by default) i can't get it.
I don't use Smart forms. On SPAD i have created a new device, the acces metod is F: Printing on front end computer, the device type copy of original HPLJ4 to test it, but i only can get paper printed simplex.
Please, Can you help me?

Hi,
The duplex settings in SPAD only work for device types that have the special list driver, Try using device type HPLJ4000 instead of HPLJ4 and create a new spool.

Can no longer print in duplex?

I used to somewhat frequently have issues printing in duplex. I go to file->print, click on printer properties and choose two-sided printing, and click print and voila, most of the time it prints in duplex.
However since upgrading to adobe X I seem to have lost all ability to print in duplex. We're using an office printer which supports it, so that isn't the issue. I've searched around and seen people suggest that going to properties -> advanced -> duplex settings should fix it, except all of the fields are greyed out. Is that a possibility? Is this locked? It doesn't seem to be since I can highlight with no issue. Why would the control of the printing be moved away from the print driver in the first place? That'd be a really idiotic design decision on Adobe's part, so I don't think that would be it. Any help would really be appreciated - I need to print out a developer's manual and I really don't want to burn 300 pages of paper to do it.

Printing Issues with HP D145 and multiple users from G5

Hi - I've a HP D145 All-In-One connected via USB to a G5 (as described below). The machine has multiple accounts on for different members of my family. The printer is directly connected to the G5 via USB connection but is shared with other Macs. Printing has become increasingly difficult, and we now have the following problems:
1. Printing will only work from the administrators account.
2. Printing periodically (daily, generally after a few hours of use) stops from the administrators account
Solutions tried:
a. Check set up for the non-administrators accounts....Looks OK for printing
b. When printing stops - I've tried repairing the permissions with the Disk Utility. This no longer works.
c. Run Printer Setup Repair (with option to repair all user accounts) - Works for the administrators account providing the computer and printer are restarted, otherwise no effect.
d. Reinstalling the software - No effect
It’s beginning to look like I need to replace this printer with one that works.
You can help me in two ways - how to solve the printer problems, or alternatively suggest a colour All-in-One printer that can work with multiple accounts and does not have the problems mentioned above.

1. The proposed fix that we could not make work:

Thank you for contacting HP Total Care.
Simply reinstalling the software will not be enough to solve the
problem. Try these steps to resolve the issue at hand:
From the Administrator account:
Double-click on the Macintosh Hard Disk.
Open Applications.
Click and drag Hewlett Packard Folder to the trash.
Close all windows.
Double-click on the Macintosh Hard Disk.
Open the Applications folder.
Open the Utilities folder.
Double-click on Process Viewer/Activity Monitor
If Activity Monitor does not appear:
Choose Monitor in the toolbar across the top.
Check Show Activity Monitor.
Ensure the Activity Monitor shows "All Processes", instead of "My
Processes".
Single-click and quit each of the applications starting with HP, using
the Stop Sign that says "Quit Process" beneath it.
Close Activity Monitor.
Double-click Macintosh Hard Disk.
Open the Library folder.
Open the Preferences folder.
Click and drag either HP AIO Preferences or Hewlett Packard Preferences
to the trash.
Remove the HP Registry file.
Go back to the Library folder.
Open the Printers folder.
Remove the HP folder
Double click Macintosh Hard Disk.
Open the Users folder.
Choose the User logged into.
Open the Library folder.
Open the Preferences folder.
Click and drag either HP AIO Preferences or Hewlett Packard Preferences
to the trash.
Click and drag files beginning with com.hp to the trash.
Click and drag files beginning with HP to the trash.
Double-click the Macintosh Hard Disk.
Open the Applications folder.

Set this printer as the default.
You should now be able to print from all accounts.

2. The reasons why it may not have worked:
We need to be sure that you are fully logging out of one account and
then back into the next. The fast user switching feature of the Mac OS
can create problems with our printer drivers. For this reason, fast user
switching is not supported by HP.
The other issue we may be running into would be the Mac OS itself. Over
the past few months the Mac OS has gone through several updates. When
the 10.4.4 version was released it created some issues with our existing
software. An updated version of our software has been developed which
works well with 10.4.4 and higher, but it is not available for this
printer.
It may be that as each new OS update is installed on your computers that
the issue becomes worse. If you are running the Mac OS 10.4.3 or lower
then the version 7.3.1 of our software should work fine. If it is 10.4.4
or higher there will be some issues as the new OS versions do not seem
to like the older drivers.
I would have to recommend retrying the full uninstall the Derek had
outlined. This time however, just install the downloaded 7.3.1 software
from our web site for the D145. Once it has been installed we need to
test it fully without adding the scanjet software. I am hoping that
without both version of our software installed it may work better.
This should resolve the issue. If you need further assistance, please
reply to this message and we will be happy to assist you further.
3. The repsonse to questions on switching and OS X 10.4.4
You are correct, since you are running the 10.4.4 I cannot guarantee
that the older software version will allow full functionality. It should
allow for printing and as long as you avoid the fast user switching,
when trying to print, it should keep working well.
I understand the convenience of fast user switching but you will have to
log completely out of one user, and then log properly into the next
before you can expect the printer to function.
I would still recommend trying the steps I had outlined as it really is
the only thing you can do that may work.

No print of goods issue slip for one user

Hello gurus,
normally, when any of our users posts a goods issue (e.g. for a cost center), a goods issue slip is printed automatically.
Now we have a new user and no such document is printed for him. When someone else logs in from his workplace, everything works fine.
I do not get it. Print control in that area is not user-specific, or is it?

it was no authorization problem either.
In IMG -> Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical inventory -> Output Determination -> Printer Determination -> Printer Determination by Output Type/User there was no condition record for the user and that particular output type.

How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex

Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run

Formatting a date according with user settings (user defaults)

Hi All,
I need to format a date I receive via JS in YYYYMMDD format according with user defaults <b>without</b> server side action (I know, this is not a good issue, but they want it).
My solution is to write a JS function (there are a lot of it on WWW) which accepts two strings and formats the first according to the second, something like:
userFormattedDate = formatDate('20060613','DD.MM.YYYY');
paying attention to generate 'DD.MM.YYYY' string on server side, according to user settings.
But if this isn't a weblog, where is the question? :-D
The question is: is there a JS function (in DatePicker or dateNavigator BSP) provided by standard libraries which serves similar functionality?
Does exist a JS public standard library?

Not able to print in duplex

On this windows 7 PC, Since I upgraded from Acrobate Reader 8 to Adober 9 and reader10, I am not able to print in duplex mode. I works fine from another computer Windows XP using Adobe Reader 6.0 using the same shared and WiFi printers.
Looking at the document file property in the advance tab, in the print dialog preset window, I am not able to change the duplex mode from grayed "Simplex" to Duplex.
How do I fix this problem?

The HP Deskjet 2520 does not support automatic print duplexing and therefore any checkbox will not apply for such.
You may perform manual duplexng on Mac OS using the Pages to Print option as following:
From the file used to print click the File menu and select Print.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Press on Show Details to show any available print option.
From the main drop does menu select Paper Handaling.
The main menu will usually list the program name (e.g. TextEdit).
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Set the Pages to Print option as Odd Only, as well set the Page Order as Automatic and click on Print.
After the odd-numbered pages have printed, reload the paper with the printed side facing up and repeat the process above by setting the Pages to Print as Even Only this time.

That is the bugger with generic (executable) functionality. When used for multiple requirements which are too far from each other then they break or the "lowest common denominator" calls the shots.
If this data is being uploaded from the application server, then why don't you just protect it there. The S_DATASET for that program context will not be very usefull, because it is generic.... so you can look into using S_PATH.

Again, this means that anyone who knows the generic password (or can display / debug the code) will be able to access the data.
A better variant of the same would be to create a symbolic service user, and prompt for that user's password before the data is downloaded. You can then use standard functions for prompting for passwords, which also update the lock counter.
=> If the password is locked due to incorrect logins, then the program is locked for this functionality as well.
=> You can periodically lock / unlock / change the access to the program, by administrating the service user in SU01.
=> Do not give this service user any authority at all - you only want to prompt for knowledge of the password, but not actually log the user itself onto the system. (see report RDDPWCHK for some example coding)
In German this is called "von hinten durch die brust", which means something like "unusual approach but still works anyway".

I would still protect the source data itself using unique authority to access it, and then control that.

I am having trouble printing in duplex on my HP Color LaserJet CP2025 printer.

I have a problem printing in duplex! I am using a Dell Studio XPS8100 computer running the 64bit version of Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 installed. I am connected to the printer thru an AT&T router. When I print the first few pages then go to flip them over the printer times out beore I can move the printed pages back into the printer to have them printed on the other side of the pages. I think I may need a new print driver, but I not sure of which driver to down load. Thanks for any help!

Download AppZapper (It's a free trial)
Install it and open it.
Drag the Reader app to the AppZapper window and "zap" it along with the associated files to the trash.
Empty the trash.
Download the Reader FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ to replace it.

Value conversion according to User default

Hi,
I have a Problem in a BDC. I am trying to populate pick quantity filed in my BDC ( Tcode VL02N ) the BDC works fine for a particular user default setting( NNN,NNN.NN ). But is the same program is used by some other user whose Default settings are different ( NNN.NNN,NN ) BDC fails .
I need to convert the value based on user default before passing it to the field in BDC.
pl. suggest me the solution .

Try to use the WRITE command before transfering the value to BDC table
DATA: QUANTITY(20) TYPE C.
WRITE <QUANTITY> UNIT <UNIT> TO QUANTITY.
<BDC>-VALUE = QUANTITY.
APPEND <BDC>.
In this way the WRITE statament'll write the quantity in the format according to user default parameters.
