Printing on HP Designjet 5500 with foomativ exits with status 9
Printing on HP Designjet 5500 over TCP/IP or Bonjour using Foomatic-RIP fails with status 9. Trying to use other drivers (HP Designjet 750C (gimp-print)) works for page sizes smaller that DIN A3 but crashs the printer for bigger sizes.
For Foomatic-RIP I get following messages in /var/log/cups/error_log:

I have the following configuration:
OS-X 10.4.11, gs 8.6.4, pxlmono 1.2, Foomatic-RIP 4.0.2.211, HP DesignJet_5500-cdnj500.ppd
The printer is connected on Ethernet and is in the same network segement (it is visible in AppleTalk and Bonjour. A connection with TCP/IP (lpd) is also possible.

I've built foomatic against the ghostscript install as your instructions say; compilation and installation all seems to be fine with no errors but prints still do not appear on the printer.
Is there anything else I can try?

Install: 10G companion CD install fails with "pingwait exits with 1220332"
Hi,
I am new to all this and am trying to install on a stand alone laptop. I am finding the installation process confusing.
I have:
1. Installed 10GR2 database software and have a sid=testdb. This is fine, I can connect via sql*plus no problem.
2. I have downloaded Oracle 10GR2 companion CD and installed both the HTTP server and HTMLDB in a new Oracle home. This installed OK but one of the config assistants failed:
Starting HTTP server Config assistant failed with:
pingwait exits with 1220332.
I was also expecting to see a flows% user in the database and this doesn't exist?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.There it should install without problems, even in a VM. Check the Oracle, Java and Path environment variables. Probably a wrong version of java is being invoked instead of the one provided with the OUI.

"system call return status", or something like that), it means:
#8 ENOEXEC "Exec format error"
which generally means you are trying to run an executable on the wrong type of
host. Could you provide more details on what the program is and any screen
messages you saw? -
Pantone Color 5615 Coated Won't Print On 1 of 2 Identical HP DesignJet 5500s

We've run into an odd problem where we have 2 locations with identical setups: Creative Suite Design Premium 4, Mac Pros, and HP DesignJet 5500s. The same InDesign file prints fine in one location with a DesignJet 5500, but when we print the same ID file at the second location that has a second DesignJet 5500, the only color that doesn't print correctly is Pantone 5615 Coated. We're using same printer driver version for both printers. I haven't yet checked Firmware versions for both printers.
On the printer that won't print Pantone 5615, the printer doesn't print it correctly in any of our Creative Suite applications. We tried creating completely new files in ID, PS, IL and the color won't print. We've checked color management in Bridge and ID and they seem OK. We're not currently having any other color problems printing with any other Creative Suite files with this printer. Colors are accurate all the way around.
I read the forum and saw a lot of posting about Pantone colors, so I will try some of the suggestions related to Pantone issues. At the moment, I'm not at the location with the problem printer and can't try the suggestions until next week.
When I was at the location yesterday, we tried printing Pantone 5615 from Quark 7.5 and the color printed fine. Obviously, we don't want to use Quark on an ongoing basis for this project. It seems likely that it isn't a printer hardware problem since the Pantone color prints out fine from the Quark file. There seems to be a setting somewhere in Creative Suite that the printer at our one location doesn't like, or there is some setting on the printer that is different than the other printer. I don't think it's a network problem with the one printer versus the other printer because I would think Quark would then run into the same problem.
Any suggestions?

JasonI have the same issue with my 44" Z3100ps GP Photo, but it is when I print from Photoshop CS5. I am running OSX 10.68 and since the last Apple/HP printer driver update this last Summer my printer will not print solid black strokes or borders around an image, yet the image prints perfectly.
I tried to roll back the drivers with no success. If I make a solid black rectangler file and try print it nothing at all prints. If I scribble in Photoshop with white paint brush in the middle of that same file the printer skips the left edge of the black rectangle and then prints the middle scribbnle and right egde of the rectangle folowing the contour of the scribble on the left.
Had me baffled and still does, the printheads are in good working order. I print large canvas photos with 1.5" black borders used to cover the sides of stretched canvases. The only way I have found around this issue is to add an inch or so to the canvas size all the way around in photoshop and make it white. That seems to fool the printer into printing the file with the full black border. Still this is not a real fix, but at least it keeps my printer running.
Let me know if you find a solution to this. HP support doesn't help as they only give support to in warranty printers. Maybe Apple could help with the drivers?

Hi there i am having slight trouble setting up my hp designjet 5500 uv 60" printer as i dont have a installation disc !
so have looked on hp site for the drivers but they are not working for some strange reason ?
i have purchased a parralel port to usb cable and also have ethernet cable ,do i need some king of software to run the printer as i still have eprint & share from my last 42" printer i had a few years back ? but when i go to add a printer in there it cannot find it ? any help would be greatly appriciated ,thanks in advance.This forum is focused on consumer level products. Plotter: HP DesignJet 5500 PS 60 in We've noticed a drop in plot quality after upgrading our computers to Win 7/Win 8. The greenish tint stands out on raster ( aerial ) plots. First we blamed it on the paper we were using ( not matching the profile loaded on the plotter) then we found the driver to be causing this. Once Win 7 & 8 were released , HP failed to provide a PS driver. When installing the printer on Win 7 /8 you'll have to use Microsoft drivers for PS printing. This plotter is used 90% for ArcGIS/PDF plots so we needed a PS driver. A few months ago, one of the print heads started leaking and we ended up replacing the entire set of ink lines ( carrying ink from tank to print head). New ink cartridges were installed to make sure no air will be left in the ink lines .... About 1 month after this , we noticed that longer plots ( 36x72 or more) would not print correctly: the first half o the colors look correct then the remaining half a green tint is present. We usually print to PDF and afterwards we send it to the plotter. Apparently there are some issues when plotting a PDF using an HPGL2 driver so we've started sending raster plots straight to the plotter. Well, today I printed another 36x72 (raster & vector) using HPGL2 driver and only the first half of the plot looked the way it should ( last half was green). Has anyone had this problem? It's been suggested ( by our maintenance company) to buy a new plotter because the specs on the 5500 say it is only compatible with OS-s up to Win XP ! Is anyone plotting to an HP 5500 from a Win 7 / 8 PC? What drivers are you using? Are your plots looking good /as expected? Do your raster plots look good? Any help /feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you both for taking the time to answer! Here is the status: I ran a few calibration tests: 1 color calibrations and printhead alignment. While the first color calibration looked OK, after printing a couple of demo pics from the plotter, I noticed issues with one of the colors ( missing lines). The following color calibration tests made it obvious the Light Magenta was failing. Replaced the printhead and printed again. When printing demo picture from the plotter colors looked ok. I am still testing with different drivers but at this point it looks like it is a driver issue: raster plots made using HPGL2 drivers are crisp while raster plots made using PS driver are greenish and faded- at least green tint appears to be constant now... This is just me testing , without vendor assistance.... I am plotting from ArcGIS ( not AutoCAD or Photoshop) but I seem to be the only one with such issues- hard to believe though.... Mountain lion -hp designjet 5500 plotter
Will mountain lion print to an hp designjet 5500 plotter that currently prints from Snow Leopard?
This is a 42" plotter, not the PS version but the software in Snow Leopard will treat this as a large printer & I can print from both CAD programs and others such as adobe reader.
It appears Hp does not have a specific driver and has not since MAC OS 10.5See if these two help...

I downloaded Jdeveloper from Oracle website. I tried to create simple helloworld jsp & tried to run from jdeveloper.
I set project properties->compiler->use Javac also, but still it gives same error message in "Running Embedded OC4j server Log"

To further debug the problem, can you open a command line at <Jdeveloper Directory>\j2ee\home
(assuming Windows) type

provide an administration password when asked. This command starts the embedded OC4J as a stand-alone server and prints messages to the console window
Let us know if this gives more detailed error messages or if it starts up

Process exited with exit code -1073741790 in jdeveloper
Hi,
When I try to run a simple Helloworld program in Jdeveloper, The compilation and all is fine, when I try to run it I got the error "Process exited with exit code -1073741790".
However I found one solution that, my computer is under a secured network, the Security Agent was seems stopping.
I changed the security level to LOW from MEDIUM , then its running fine.
Is there any other solution where I can work without reducing the security level.
While writing this post, I checked one more option of adding the jdeveloper.exe to trusted application in the Security agent. This seems resolved the application and working fine now.

Reader X won't print to HP Designjet 1055 plotter
I've seen similar issues in the forums, but I want to put in my problem so hopefully Adobe recognizes this as a valid issue affecting many people.
We have a large format HP Designjet 1055 color plotter which we could print to with Reader 9. However, no one here can print to it with Reader X. After openning a pdf file, clicking Print, selecting the printer, then clicking OK; the print dialog box goes away, but nothing happens. Nothing is spooled to the print server. I tried printing directly to the printer (bypassing the print server), but that did not work either. The same pc's can print to all other printers.
We can print pdf's to the 1055 if we use a copy of Acrobat 9 or Nuance Pdf reader.
RichMy customers are seeing the same issue here with plotters. Testing shows at least 2 HP DesignJet 1055c are affected; printing from Acrobat works as expected, but print attempts from Reader X go no where with no feedback. "Print as image" doesn't help, either.

Unable to Start R12 Instance adstrtal.sh exiting with status 1
Hi - I am unable to restart my R12 server after successfully shutting it down.
1)
I seem to have the Database and Database Listener up with its respective scripts.
/d01/oracle/vis/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/scripts/VIS_oracle
su oravis
a) ./addbctl.sh start
b) ./addlnctl.sh start VIS_oracle
But I can't the application script to run.
2)
su applvis
/d01/oracle/vis/inst/apps/VIS_oracle/admin/scripts
./adstrtal.sh applvis/applvis
adstrtal.sh: Database connection could not be established. Either the database is down or the APPS credentials supplied are wrong.

Now, I verified that the applvis password is right because I changed under System --> Administration --> User Groups

Now, somewhere I read it could be with the Environment file not being sourced, but where is that file located, I saw a couple of locations, also under what user should I source it as?
Also, is there a way I can give all the users permission to the /d01 directory, to avoid problems like these.

Note, my Internet/Ip has changed, I had to change the IP in the adapter settings and the etc/host file from 192.160.1.101 to be 192.168.0.101, but I'm having a hard time opening the Login page. I can see the page that says:
"The E-Business Home Page is located at http://oracle.ebs:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
If your browser doesn't automatically redirect to its new location, click here. "
But when I access the login page I get this error:
"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

RoboHTML.exe exits with exception
I've just installed RoboHelp Office V10. Everything seems fine except for one problem. If I try to generate printed documentation, then RoBoHTML.exe exits with an exception.
I have Microsoft Office 2010 installed also.
Any idea who this should be reported to and how?
Anyone seen anything similar, and have a fix?

Mick MathersThe problem I have seen always enables the option within a few minutes so clearly something else is wrong.
According to Adobe's page on Activation, other causes are you have Volume Licensing, the product is part of a suite and you need to deactivate that, or you cannot connect. I had to get our IT guys to approve the link before Update would work. What I am not following is that unless you are a government department or similar, you have to activate online, no exceptions. What request / response code are you talking about as we have been through the activation issue before and there are NO exceptions.
This is all getting away from the problem though of being able to print. Where does your Normal.dot template reside? We have seen issues when IT put it on a network drive.
