Printing REPORT1 to Tray1, REPORT2 to Tray2

I am trying to automate two different reports so that
one Reports Paper Source is TRAY1 and the Other Reports
Paper Source is TRAY2. I have tryed using printer definition
files with escape sequences, but they only seem to work when
DESTYPE=file. I need DESTYPE=PRINTER to work for this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated,
Ken

how about the built-in srw.set_printer_tray
from the 6i online help :
Description This procedure specifies the name of a valid
printer tray and can be used to switch to different printer
trays as your report formats.
Syntax
SRW.SET_PRINTER_TRAY('tray');
Parameters
tray     Is the name of a valid printer tray and can be used to
switch to different printer trays as your report formats.
Usage Notes
n     If you use SRW.SET_PRINTER_TRAY in the Format Trigger of
an object, the printer tray will be changed on the page where
the object is printed. The printer tray you specify remains in
effect until you change it in a subsequent trigger.

  • HP LaserJet P1102W - no print output in Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon Desktop

I've just done a default install of Linux Mint 17.1 - as feared, no print output.
I'm guessing I need to install a driver - but I couldn't find anything easily on HP site, only Windows/Mac OS stuff. Are HP printers generally linux friendly? Where can I download drivers if they are? More over, I'm a total linux newbie, so any drivers need to be easily installed! I'm not currently familiar with Terminal windows and line commands!
My printer does have wireless enabled, but I have it connected via direct USB also.
Linux Mint did offer to run a diagnostic tool/debugging tool which gave a great deal of what means nothing to me. Debug output is below if it is helpful, but hoping a simple driver install will cure all ...
    Debug Output:

  • Printing multiple panels

    Hi,
I am developing a custom invoice report with layout (everything included in main section) spread across 2 pages.
The whole of first page (customer copy) is in one repeating frame and the other page (guarantor) is in another repeating frame both referencing the same SQL query.
When printing for multiple customers I want the customer document to be printed along with each guarantor document. Currently all the customer documents are being printed together and the guarantor documents are printed together.
Is there any solution for the above problem?
    I tried the following
-Including the customer document in the header section but this results in blank pages when there are no guarantors
-Including the whole report in one single repeating frame and increased the vertical panels to 2, but this is resulting in blank pages when there are no guarantors
    Thanks in advance.
    Lloyd

Actually,my request is merging 3 report into 1 report ,and these 3 report have some common parameters.
    for example :
    customer is the common parameters.
I want to see the result after printing:
    Customer 1
    report1(panel1).page1
    report1(panel1).page2
    report1(panel1).page3
    report2(panel2).page1
    report2(panel2).page2
    report3(panel3).page1
    Customer2
    report1(panel1).page1
    report1(panel1).page2
    report1(panel1).page3
    report2(panel2).page1
    report2(panel2).page2
    report3(panel3).page1
but now i can only acheive:
    Customer
    report1(panel1) page1
    report2(panel2) page1
    report3(panel3) page1
    report1(panel1) page2
    report2(panel2) page2
    report3(panel3) blank
    report3(panel1) page3
    report2(panel2) blank
    report3(panel3) blank
    Customer2
    report1(panel1) page1
    report2(panel2) page1
    report3(panel3) page1
    report1(panel1) page2
    report2(panel2) page2
    report3(panel3) blank
    report3(panel1) page3
    report2(panel2) blank
    report3(panel3) blank
Pls give me advice on it .Thank you very much.

I once had a project which involved alot of reports and on my mind I had the same idea; to display all reports with only one crviewer but was not able to. Instead what Idid was to create say 10 forms with a viewer on each and if the user wanted to produce extra reports, they had to close some of them. This worked out for me.

  • Understanding "automatic row processing"

    hi,
i have problems understanding automatic row processing in apex.
at first i thought there is a relation between page process (fetch row, insert, update,...) and page items / reports.
something like: Item P1_TESTTEXTBOX (Source=Database Column => "TESTCOLUMN") referes to process "FETCH ROW FROM TESTTABLE"
but i havent found any relation.
then i thought there is a "global pool of database columns" (fetched, inserted, updated by a page processes)... when a fetch process loads data from a db-table, all columns from this table are stored in a "dictionary"...but this also didnt seems to be right.
i did some testing to understand the (row fetch) behavior but there a still some questions:
    - i created 2 Processes (Data Manipulation -> Row Fetch) in "After Header" on 2 different Database tables but each with a Column "TESTCOLUMN" (for testing^^) . It didn't work properly: it seems that only one fetch process is executed .
I'm still not quite sure how automatic row processing (fetch, insert, update) is working...
are there any explanation about this issue? i havent found any information that goes into detail.

ok, some testing later i come to the conclusion that the automatic row processing works like this:
when a row (fetch) process starts, ALL binded Page Items (Source Type=Database Column) tries to load their data from the current fetch-process.
i tried to add 2 different Regions containing some Page Items (TextBox) that binds to a Database Column.
    * Region1 should contain Artikle-Information (refers to DB-Table Article)
    * Region2 should contain Article-Detail Informations (refers to DB-Table ArticleDetails)
i am not able to create 2 Row fetch processes in 1 page, because i got an error when the first row-fetch process starts "Column [XY] not found in table [YZ]"
obviously there is no way to "link" processes to regions, reports or page items.
or is it possible to create 2 regions (in 1 page) with automated row processing, that refers to different tables ? (region1/report1 => DBTable1, region2/report2 => DBTable2)?
(the only way i see is that i create a view that contains these 2 DBTables, so i only need one row fetch process for this page)
    thanks in advance

  • Filter and navigation not working properly

    Hi Gurus,
    I have two reports - report1(source) and report2(target) report.
    In report1, it shows two columns - Market_ID, Amount_sold
In report2, it shows two columns - Market_ID, Reasons(where Market_ID is made prompted)
In report1, I have made the Value Interaction as 'Navigate' and the target as 'path of report2' in Column properties ->Column Format
But, when I click on Market_ID(report1), it is NOT showing the details of that particulat Market_ID(report2).
It is showing the details of whole Market_ID in report2. That means, the filter is not working properly.
Is there any method in which the report2 shows the details of particular Market_ID which is selected from report1(market_ID)?
    Best Regards,
    J

    yes you can,
in your source add a master_name column and in that make the navigation.
in the master_id column go to column format and style options and check the Use Custom CSS style option and type,
    display: none
now in your source the master_id column will get hidden. in your target make the master_id prompted.
now click on the master_name in your source, your target will get filtered by the corresponding msater_id
    thanks,

  • How to use both Static and dynamic Reports in WAD using a single template.

    Hi,
I have 2 reports - Report1 & Report2. Report1 is a static report with 3 column in it. In WAD user does not want to see the third series in the chart so I have made series3 invisible in the chart.
I am calling the Report2 via 'SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMETERS' in the button option.
Now the issue is that, Report2 is a dynamic report which is using a calyear vaiable range. As Report2 is using the template of Report1, Series3 of Report2 also gets hidden.
    Any solution for this?
    Thanks
    Nisha

    Hi Nisha,
After setting the Report 2 DP thru SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMETERS, you can use one more command SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS on the Chart webitem & edit the Series to make it visible. If there is a way to reset the DP back to Report 1, then you must once again use SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS to hide the Series.
Or you can use another Chart webitem for Report 2 DP & make the Chart webitem for Report 1 hidden & the Chart webitem for Report 2 visible using SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS after setting Report 2 DP using SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMETERS.

  • Current year data compare with pervious year

    Hi Experts,
I have created report1 with display the default date data. And we have Date between filter, based on the filter the reports data is changeing.
My Question is we have another report2 below the report1 but report2 should display exact date of last year.
i.e. if default date is 29/03/2010 and 30/03/2010 for report1 and
the report2 should be display the data for exact 29/03/2009 and 30/03/2009 and if date filter may change the report2 also change.
Note : Both reports are created from same table.
    Thanks,
    Balaa...

    Hi Balaa,
you can creat a filter like this:
    TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_YEAR,-1,date)
This retuns the date of the last year.
    I hope it helps.

  • Problem trying to share a Search Field with two Reports

Hello!I have two Reports(Report1 and Report2) in two different pages. In both of the pages i have the same select list(Item1 and Item2 ). I want to select something in the select list(Item1) of Report1 and my choice to be saved in the select list(Item2) of Report2 too.Can anyone please help me?
Is it possible to have one select list for two Reports ?
Thanx in advance for any answers...

Thank you very much! I tried what you said and it seems to be working fine now. I have a similar problem(a little bit more complicated) with my two forms on these reports. The reports actually contain the columns of one table separated in two groups(Report1=group1 and Report2=group2). So when i select Edit on a row of Report1 i go to Form1 and see the data to be edited of Form1 of row1 for example. I would like to go to Form2(i have a tab for this) and see the same row(row1) to be edited with the columns of Report2.I hope that i am clear enough. Thanx again for the previous answer and i hope that you can solve this problem too.

  • Merge text file with condition

I have two text files (report1.txt and report2.txt) that I want to merge with conditions:
     - Matching rows that have same "ID" and same "TranVal", will keep only one instance
     - Mismatching rows that have same "ID" both rows from 2 file, but column "TranVal" has different value, then the row from report2.txt will replace row in report1.txt
     - Any "ID" that exists in one textfile but not the other one, will be copied to the final merged file
    report1.txt:
    TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
    061211,9840,40,done
    061211,9841,30,done
    061211,9842,28,done
    report2.txt:
    TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
    061211,9840,40,done
    061211,9841,89,done
    061211,9843,25,done
    Final result should be:
    merge.txt:
    TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
    061211,9840,40,done
    061211,9841,89,done
    061211,9842,28,done
    061211,9843,25,done

    Hi,
I just checked Import-Csv option. I will be able to manage this problem if i can get it in CSV format and work with objects, BUT the problem is in my real file
the file-format is different which is not comma-separated, instead have "-" as seperator. To simplify the problem i used comma in my question.
    TranDate,ID,TranVal,Comment
    061211-9840-40-done
    Could
you suggest me if there is any way to convert "-" separators to CSV?

  • RRI / RSBBS in new explorer window? AdHoc analysis in web.

    Hi.
I have defined RRI with 3 reports:
    - from Report1 to Report2,
    - from Report1 to Report3
    - from Report2 to Report3.
When executing Report1, the Goto Report2 opens new explorer window, same behavior when Goto Report3.
However, when in Report2, the Goto Report3 remains in the same browser window, which is annoying the users.
Is there a way of "forcing" RRI to open a new explorer window when jumping from Report2 to Report3?
    Thanks a million in advance.

  • DA refresh 2 report regions

    Hello All,
I have a DA that refreshes 2 report regions ( SQL query) . This works perfectly fine in 4.0.1.
However when I import it to 4.0.2 , just one region refreshed while the other fails.
Appreciate any guidance in figuring out the issue here
    Details of DA :
    Event : change
    Selection type : Item
Item : hidden item whose value is used in where clause
    True Actions :
    1) Execute PLSQL to submit the hidden item
    2) Refresh report1
    3) Refresh report2
    APEX version : 4.0.2.00.07
    Thanks,
    RD

    Hi RD,
you could use Firebug for Firefox (on the Console you will see the AJAX calls) or the Developer Toolbar of Google Chrome to check if all 3 AJAX calls are executed and what you get in the response. I think that should help you to track down why it's working on one machine but not on the other. Please also have a look at the actual response in the AJAX calls if it's useful data.

  • Interactive Reports - Database Hack for sharing developer saved reports

Just this morning I posted to another thread about not being able to create and save multiple reports, but after a bit of database hacking, I've got it working in version 3.1.2.
I take no responsibility in anything that may happen to your APEX install because of what I am about to tell you.  If you try this, you do so at your own risk.
That's right, you CAN create multiple default views for your users.
    Background:
    <ul><li>     I created 1 interactive report.</li>
<li>     I added criteria and saved the report with the name Report1.</li>
<li>I modified the criteria and saved the report with a new name 3 additional times.</li>
<li>I am now seeing 5 tabs
    <ul><li>Working Report</li>
    <li>Report1</li>
    <li>Report2</li>
    <li>Report3</li>
    <li>Report4</li>
    </ul>
    </li>
<li>At this point, other users can not see the reports because they are private to me.</li>
    </ul>
So, how can I make these reports public to other users?
<ul><li>Logon to your APEX database as a user that has privileges to select and update the WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS table.</li>
<li>Browse the table and find the 4 rows of the new reports that were created above.</li>
    <li>Set the SESSION_ID and BASE_REPORT_ID columns to NULL</li>
    <li>Set the APPLICTION_USER column to 'APXWS_DEFAULT'</li>
<li>Set the STATUS column to 'PUBLIC'</li>
    <li>Set the IS_DEFAULT column to 'Y'</li>
    </ul>
It seems to be the combination of APPLICATION_USER and IS_DEFAULT that really makes it work, but I set the other fields to make them look like the row for the working report.
So, now after making these changes, I had two other users login to the site and look at the interactive report, and viola, 5 default tabbed reports!
    Hope this helps someone!!!
    Kris

    Hello,
Just to stress, that the moment you do direct modifications to WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS (or indeed any 'internal' table) via this non-supported route you are probably making your APEX installation non-supported by Oracle (hopefully someone from Oracle can speaking officially on that).
Even if your update works today, tomorrow, in a months time, you have still done something that you were not supposed to do.
So, do you really want to do that in production?
    Just playing Devils Advocate.
