Because you're running Mac OS X 10.9, I've moved your question to the Adobe Reader forum (you posted on the version for iPad/iPhone).

  • Selecting "choose paper source by pdf page size" causes page to print as mirror image thumbnail

Printing from acrobat reader 9.3.4 to a bizhub C220 printer/copier using the postscript driver in XP sp3. when you select "choose paper source by pdf page size" the document prints mirror image as a tiny thumbnail in the corner of the page? We have replicated the problem with different computers and other copier/printers. This does not occur when using the PCL driver. Any ideas?

Do you not get any options after you have selected print
then select Print using System dialogue
which then opend another box , where I select Layout
and can select how I want the document printed.
As you can see I do use an Epson Printer though, but this is the way when using Mac OSX

  • Print by choosing paper source by PDF page size from MAC

I have an iMAC with Maverick OS.  I am printing to both an HP 401 monochrome laser printer and an HP Laser Jet Pro CM1415fnw Color Printer.  I receive .pdf files which contain both letter and legal sized pages.  I know that I cannot print out letter and legal size pages by selecting "choose paper source by PDF page size" from my MAC.  This does present a problem for me (and I'm sure many others).  What I would like to know is 1) is there a way around this problem and 2) are there any plans for Adobe to address a resolution to this issue by fixing the option so that MAC users can achieve the same level of ease of print results as Window users?  There is certainly a large segment of the population who are now MAC users.  Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, Steve.  I did go to that link and asked the same
information of Adobe directly.  Their NB at the bottom of the page says
that due to the large number of questions asked and information requested,
they usually do NOT respond to the users.  Too bad.  How else are we
supposed to get valid info?  I believe almost all the other software
vendors do have a contact location from which they will address user's
concerns and will contact you with some kind of info.  Welcome to the new
world of customer service!!  i.e., Go figure it out by yourself!!

  • I sent to print in a Paper Source and the print go out in another (URGENT PLEASE)

Hi, I'm having a problem with the Crytal Reports 8, I send to print using the paper source number 2, but its can't apply it and it's printing getting the paper from the source 1.
    Can anybody help me?

Not sure about CR 8, can you create another printer (same printer, but different name), set that printer to default to tray 2, then send the report to the Tray2 printer name and see what happens.  (Not an elegant fix, but....)

  • Printer selects wrong paper size

when I sent a document to the eprinter it selects photo paper instead of  typing paper. How do I correct this? I have changed the preferences to no avail

Why type of document is it that you are sending. By default our ePrint servers will print a photo on 4x6 and a pdf or .doc on a 8.5x11. As of the moment, there is no way to change this.

  • New 6500A Plus-set up the e-Print. to auto select photo paper like my Photosmart

I will try this one more time.  My issue is the printer having two paper sources like the Photosmart.  One with printer paper and a small tray with photo paper and the printer knows to print photos on the photo paper.
The question is there any way to modify the 6500 to work the same way?

With e-Print if the photo is embedded into the body of the email then it will print on the plain paper in your printer. If you want the photo to print on photo paper then the photo must be an attachment to the email and you need to have photo paper loaded into the printer.

  • Paper Source by Page Size

I often print documents on letter or legal size paper. I'm currently switching my office over from Windows based products (and Acrobat 9 Standard) to Mac, and upgraded to the newest Acrobat as well.
When printing, I've noticed that the printer defaults to letter size documents for every PDF, even if the PDF is on legal paper. There is no option to select paper source by page size when printing.
However, for each document, I can go to Properties > Advanced, and there's an option for "Paper Source by Page Size." However, this only applies to the current document, and not future documents.
Am I missing something here? Why can't I default to select the paper source by page size? This was an option in Windows and Acrobat 9, so is this feature actually gone now?

    Hi Andrew,
Apple made some pretty significant changes to the way that printers function when they released 10.6.
The setting you're looking for is completely controlled by the OS.
Choose Apple > System Preferences > Print & Fax.
Click on your printer and use the drop-down menu to change the default page size for your printer.

  • I am trying to print on filofax paper but wont print on HP deskjet 3070A

The guides only allow paper to be placed in the middle of paper selection, and only half of the printing comes out, half of the page is blank.   Its also very difficult to retrieve the shorter paper because the aperture where the paper is inserted is very narrow.   The pages for the filofax have to be turned over and printed on both sides.

    Hi Nontech,
I am not sure I understand exactly what you are doing; I will try and help.  I am a user, not an HP tech.
The manual suggests that you can adjust the side guides in the printer to accomodate paper sizes.  That said, there is nothing to be done about the tiny opening - the paper is supposed to be ejected when the print is completed.
The thickness of the paper used is very important.  I have discovered this the hard way myself.  Your printer won't have a selection for filofax paper; it should have a selection for something that perhaps you can pick that is as close to the same thickness as is possible.
    Deskjet 3070A B611 User Guide
See the section in the manual on "Recommended Papers for Printing" for a general description.
Using your printing Preferences for your printer, select the paper according to what is closest to the thickness of your "filofax" paper.  (EXAMPLE:  Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > highlight your printer > right-click > Preferences > Paper > Media)
If you can more closely match the actual thickness of the paper being printed, you might get a print of the whole sheet without it stopping half-way through the process:  The completed print might then feed all the way out of the printer as it should.
    Good Luck!
    Kind Regards,

  • I am unable to select the correct paper size when printing photo's in iPhoto 11. When I select the paper size in the custom window for 4x6 prints the prints only appear on an 8 1/2x11 page. My Mac is a year old iMac running 10.8.2.

I am unable to print 4x6 photo's using iPhoto 11. When I do they only print out on lettter size paper even though I enter 4x6 in the custom window in the print size menu. My older Snow Leopard system using iPhoto 9 the paper size window offered a 4x6 paper size which worked well.

Selecting paper size in the first sreen tellis iPhoto what papery you are going to use - it does not tell the printer what paper to use - printer specific options on on the last (second or third if you customize the print) screen where you tell the print any specifics like paper source (typically printers need to you tell them where a specific paper is loaded - they do not really know the sizes in each paper tray)

  • Acrobat 9 "Choose paper Source by PDF page size" prints as thumbnail

I have a customer who is trying to print a document that has different page sizes, eg. p.1 is 8 x 11, p.2 is 11 x 17. He can select the page size manually and everything works as expected. If you put a check mark in "Choose paper Source by PDF page size" it prints as backward thumbnails on 8 x 11. Selecting "print as image" makes it fill the page, but only prints on 8 x 11. Changing the printer driver to PCL did not fix, nor did installing an updated PS driver. All updates have been installed. I called tech support and they basically just gave me link to the script they use during troubleshooting. I also did a google search, but haven't come up with a valid answer. It is Acrobat 9 Standard on Win XP. Any advice is good advice.

    It's a Windows only feature: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/332/332720.html#main_Mixed_sizes

  • Paper source section for MAC when printing

Does Adobr Reader or any other Adobe product support "Choose paper source by PDF page size" for printing with MAC OSX 10.8.3 system?

Mac or Windows, that's a printer setting. "Scale contents to fit" was what I chose with my Canon Printer and MBP 13", but it was always in the Canon print window. I never saw a "paper source" with my home printer, because my printer only had one source. Still if you have both 8.5 X 11 and Legal cartridges there is a setting for the printer to select that and every multi-cartridge printer I've used, it had to be selected manually.

  • Why did I have to do a reset to keep my printer from using so much ink? Was not able to select "plain paper." Was printing in "Ultra Premium" mode.

My printers (two Epsons) would not let me select <Plain paper> when printing anything, and always defaulted to <Ultra Premium>, which is the reason I've been using a ton of ink for the last several months. What caused that? I finally did a Reset to Basics which took care of the problem, but what created the problem?

hello LesS., you'll probably have to contact epson's support about this issue, since i don't see how this would be related to firefox or mozilla products: support.epson.com
    thank you for your understanding

  • I can't print from a sd card on my mac to an epson printer paper source will not show

I have a mac pro and an epson printer, I am unable to find how to print from my sd card and have it print from the right papaer source.  There is not an option of paper source when I try to print a 4 x 6 photo

What a waste of space to paste the code.
Why not ask in the iLife > iPhoto forum where your question belongs.

  • Paper source auto-select problem

Hi, I just set up a new MF6160DW, on a Windows 7 PC, and it seems to work well except for 1 setting I can't understand. I'd like the printer and copier to use drawer 1 for all printing, but to auto-detect paper in the multi-purpose tray, and prioritize that source whenever paper is present. The default settings in the Windows "Devices and Printers" for the UFRII LT driver "Preferences" Paper Source is set to "Auto". When I use the 6160's Menu-> Common Settings -> Printer, the only option shown is for Drawer 1, no multi-purpose tray. For copying, I've been able to set Multi-Purpose tray priority, but copying is not possible without paper in that tray (i.e.: it won't automatically shift to Drawer 1 if the MP tray is empty). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Pableau

    Hi Rich:
Point One, your are working with two sources of page setup information - 1. The print information that is set in the printer control panel. 2. The print information that Word Page Setup sends to the printer overriding the printer internal defaults. Word remembers printer setup by each document. I have been trying to get a definition of the different items under Word page setup with out sucess.
I would setup the printer control panel defaults as you woul use the printer from you web browser for printing or as you would use the printer as a stand alone device. Using WORD, use the page set up menu and direct the document to be printed by using Tray 2 Legal and Tray 1 as letter or envelope as an example.

  • Concerning Epson Printer 4880: after changing the Ink from Photo Black to Matte Black I'm not getting the Epson Software in Photoshop and Lightroom. I can not select the paper medium, I don't see my profiles. What is wrong?

Concerning Epson Printer 4880: after changing the Ink from Photo Black to Matte Black I'm not getting the Epson Software in Photoshop and Lightroom. I can not select the paper medium, I don't see my profiles. What is wrong?

That is priceless!!!  Thanks!  I sure needed a good laugh after spending/wasting hours & days trying to either get my c6280 to give up on its Ink System Failure fixation, or find a decent replacement.  Unfortunately I need the Smart Web Printing feature that I guess only HP has, or I'd try a different brand. And now even HP has very few models with that available.
My error msg is a little different from those previously stated, but close:  0xc18a0201.  Even tho there were frustrations with my c6280, I did like several of its unique features which are hard to find now under $100.  I hate how HP (& I suppose other brands also) are CONSTANTLY changing models & then of course ink cartridges.
Oh heavens, I've had the c6280 a whopping 2 1/2 years!   I'm sure they want us poor slobs to have to buy a new one every year & a day!  To say nothing of the exorbitant prices for ink.  And now if this one is really dead in the water, I have SIX unused #02 ink cartridges which I cannot return---I got them in a combo pack, & for some reason have wound up with THREE lite pink & THREE lite blue cartridges, while having to buy extras of the other colors, that ran out before the others!!!   Yeah, & what's with that not being able to print in BLACK if a color runs out????
Anyway I really loved your essay!   It's a classic!  And says it all!  I hate that we have to be 'slaves' to the electronic 'wonders'!!!
