Printing upside down

Hi guys.  I've got an HP LaserJet 600 M603.  It has started printing pages with the data upside down.  Instead of picking the page up from the tray after printing, and the start of the page being at the top, it's placing the start of the page and information at the bottom, upside-down.
When I do a factory reset, it will correct the issue for a time, but it then reverts back within an hour or so.
I researched and found some information regarding a firmware upgrade for a different model printer that stated is was the PJL Density command that was causing the data on the page to print upside-down and it was the fix for it.
Not sure if an upgrade to the firmware is what I need, nor do I know how to peform this.  Any advice?

There is a firmware update from 31 July 2014, version 2302963_436082 available for download from HP here.  Be sure to read the "Readme" file in the file here for installation instructions.  The installation instructions are near the end, starting about page 29.  It does appear some of the updates involved fixes for mirrored or inverted text.

  • Artboard 2 of 2 prints upside down - Windows 7

I use Windows 7 - when printing two artboards meant to be two sides on one sheet, the second prints upside down.
When printing pdfs for distribution and print-out, I am forced to turn the second artboard upside down, so that it prints normally.
I have seen posts on the forum stating that this is not an Illustrator issue.  I'm sorry, but it is.
A thread about the matter saw the person with the problem 'resolve' it by having to tweak the print dialog EVERY time they print.
This just isn't good enough. In certain quarters this would be called a bug.
If the second of two artboards CAN indeed be made to print normally in Windows, then the feature making this possible is obviously VERY difficult to locate and the interface must be made more intuitive with respect to this issue.
I have experienced the issue on multiple machines and printers, so it isn't specific to one machine / printer.
    Thanks

If it was a bug, everyone would have the same problem. I run Illustrator in Windows every day, and I've never encountered it.
I've no desire to argue over it, but I'll take one stab here at convincing you it is indeed a simple case of the default setting in the printer diver with respect to the flip direction of 2-sided printing. If you, (and the person with the same problem in that other thread), would change the printer defaults to flip or "tumble" the other way, it would solve the problem, and there would be no need to address it every time you print. Have you tried saving as PDF and printing from Acrobat?

  • Using brochure template, the second side prints upside down.  How to fix?

When using the brochure template how does one correct the back page from printing upside down?

    Hi,
From the application used to print open the printer dialog, then click on ettings or Preferences to access to Printig Preferences dialog.
Within the Layout tab change the Print on both sides option.
For a portrait oriented document select Flip on Long Edge, for a Landscape one select Flip on Short Edge, then it will print as expected.

  • Quicken 2007 checks print "upside-down"

I have been using Quicken 2007 for Mac (ver 16.1.2) to print my checks, successfully, for many years with a Brother printer. Suddenly, out of the blue, my partial checks starting printing upside down (i.e., rotated 180 degress). I have looked at all the print settings and preferences and everything is correct. Something clearly has changed, maybe from either an OS X or printer driver update, but I can't figure it out.
I deleted the printer and reinstalled the Brother CUPS driver from the Brother website, and also reinstalled the Quicken app, but none of that fixed the problem.
I spoke to both Brother and Quicken technical support, and they each pointed the finger at the other. In the meantime, the checks won't print.

Well, I installed Rosetta and downloaded the latest driver for the printer. Interestingly, Quicken 2007's Get Info box doesn't have the checkbox to open in Rosetta. Checks still print upside down.
I found a workaround, though: I "print" the check to Preview, then rotate it 180 degrees and print to the printer. I can live with that, but I hope someday to figure out what happened...
I'm going to leave this question unanswered for now, but thanks for the help!

  • Duplex printing upside down !

Hi, For some reason duplex printing to a Xerox Apeosport C5540 has just started printing the second page upside down.
Changing the binding selection (long side or short side) has no affect.
    Anyone have similar experience ?
I recently installed an HP J6480 printer driver - which is the only thing I can think of that has changed recently, other than OS X updates...
    Thanks

What printer are you using? We have a Xerox 252 with a Fiery server and we were having problems getting consistent duplexing. We eventually discovered the setting that we were missing, but it wouldn't do me any good to tell you if you don't have that type of printer. Landscape printing usually requires a top/bottom duplex setting, which can also be called "flip on short edge" or "head to foot." This is set within the printer settings--usually under layout or printer features.
I have noticed with ID CS3 that even landscape pages are sometimes considered portrait when it comes to duplex orientation, so if your pages are still printing upside down, try changing the settings to the opposite (i.e. top/top, flip long edge, or head to head). This is only true in ID, all other apps should orient landscape with the other settings. This was exactly the problem we were having with our Xerox and ID. We could print duplex using the standard landscape settings from Acrobat but from ID, the results were unpredictable. We finally found in the printer settings where we could force the page to be oriented either portrait or landscape and that fixes the problem.

  • I have a LaserJet Pro P1606dn - the second page prints upside down when using the duplex print optio

Operating system Windows 7 32 bit.  I have re-installed the printer an I have downloaded and applied the most recent drivers from the HP site.  The built in set-up shows the settings correctly as duplex on and bind on the long edge but the second page continues to print upside down i.e. it seems to always print as binding on the top edge.
However when I print from my iPad via Airprint the duplex print works perfectly!

IF you are using a printer with 2-sided printing, in the expanded print dialog you will have a selection for long-edge binding OR short-edge binding. Whichever setting you have set, switch to the other one.

  • Pdf printing upside down

Whenever I try to create a pdf of one sheet of a larger pdf, everything works fine if I use "current page". But if I zoom in and try to print "current view" to fit to 8 1/2 x 11, the resulting pdf is upside down (rotated 180 degrees). I am using the trial of Acrobat Pro. Any idea what would cause this? I verified through the windows printer settings and all settings from inside Acrobat that the page is set up to "Landscape" and NOT "Rotated Landscape".
UPDATE: I have traced it to the option which says "Choose paper source by PDF page size". If I have this checked, everything is always correct. If I uncheck this and print either the current page (to the AdobePDF printer) or a zoomed in view, it may be correct or it may be upside down or it may be rotated 90 degrees. By the way, using the free Foxit Reader PDF printer always prints to the correct orientation.
Any help would be appreciated since I cannot justify the cost of this software if it cannot print as consistant as a free alternative.

^^Bump due to added information that may help with the specifics of the problem.

  • Using pages to create a two-sided brochure and second page prints upside down!

When using a pages template to create a two-sided brochure, the second page needs to be reversed (upside down) for correct printing when emailing to an outside printer sources.  How do I reverse the page within the pages app?

IF you are using a printer with 2-sided printing, in the expanded print dialog you will have a selection for long-edge binding OR short-edge binding. Whichever setting you have set, switch to the other one.

  • CLJ3600DN Printing upside down after new driver

So I did what HP said and installed a new driver for my Color LaserJet 3600DN.  Now it prints unside down.  Letterhead must go in upside down now.  Also, when printing on both sides, only prints one way, flip page end to end.  Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds as though the option for mirroring is on. Check your printer settings and make sure that mirroring is off.
    Hope this helps.

  • HP7310 all-in-one if automatic duplex option chosen every other page prints upside down, Fix?

  • Two-sided printing works, but alternate pages print "upside down"

I have an HP C6280 all-in-one, networked via Bonjour. The 6280 ships with the duplex (two-sided) printing accessory. Latest drivers from HP (v2.3?) installed. I can select two-sided printing, and it works...but no matter which binding option I choose, the pages print out as if I was binding at the top. IE, page 1,3,5 are right side up but 2,4,6 are upside down. I want binding on the left.
What am I missing? On the HP forum, I saw a note that this is a known problem in Vista. Any ideas? thx

This was a problem about a year old with older drivers for other printers. Maybe somehow you've got these installed. Run the HP Uninstaller from its folder in Applications and uninstall all HP software. Reinstall version 9.7.1 from the download here:

You could also try reseting the Leopard print system. Search for how to do this.

  • Graphics print upside down

    Hello,
New Robo User here, though I struggle to see how that could
be the problem in this case
Running RoboHelp HTML X5.0.2 (build 801)
I have a series of topics with tables containing text
instructions and screenshots of software steps.
When I print from the compiled view in a browser or from the
    Preview window all is normal.
However, if make the document view active on the right hand
pane (WYSIWYG) and click the printer icon labeled "Print Active
Pane" then all the text is normal, but any graphics are upside down
and backwards. They are read better from the backside of the paper.
    Quite curious.
I cannot begin to fathom the usefulness of this so assume it
must be a bug. Has anyone else ever come across this?
    Thanks,
    Don

Hi Don - welcome to our community and the world of RoboHelp!
Although I've never experienced it myself (been using
RoboHelp since 1992 and now train it) I've seen reports of this off
and on for years. If I recall correctly, the answer may be as
simple as upgrading or changing your printer driver.
    Cheers... Rick

  • InDesign CS5 - Printing, only first page is upside down.

    Strange problem.
I have a multipage document that has threaded text on pages 2-10 (for example). When I print (duplex or not), the first page (cover page of the manual I writing) is upside down!
It shows correctly in indesign, as well as when I export it to a PDF and print it.
The printer i'm using is a Ricoh Aficio MP C4000 PS.
Our IT group at work says it's an indesign issue! I have had it successfully print on other printers, and I've tried everything I can think of on this printer.
    HELP!

In my experience, when an IT department can't figure things out, it's always the application's fault (or "those stinkin' Macs").
I'm pretty sure its a Ricoh thing. I do duplex booklet printing from Acrobat 9 (from a PDF file exported from InDesign CS5) to a Ricoh 5560. I often get the same problem. I find toggling the "Auto Rotate Pages" button in the print dialog on and off will fix it for me. There's no sense to it. If it first prints upside down, click the button and print again and it will work. But the next time you go to print with that setting, it will be upside down again. Click the button off, and it will work. I've given up trying to troubleshoot it.

  • Duplex Printing - Page 2 upside down

I can duplex print, but the even number pages (second side printed) are upside down.  Also, my properties tab options do not match the manual's description, so I'm not sure if I'm setting it up properly

    Hi shell75,
I would like to help you with this issue of page 2 printing upside down. Make sure that your Firmware is up to date.
Then follow these steps in the User Guide on duplex printing.
    Print on both sides (duplexing)
You can print on both sides of a sheet of media automatically by using the HP
    Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory (duplexer).
NOTE: Two-sided printing requires an HP Automatic Two-sided Printing
Accessory (duplexer) to be installed on the printer.
TIP: You can perform manual duplexing by first printing only the odd pages,
flipping the pages over, and then printing only the even pages.
    Perform two-sided printing (Windows)
    1. Load the appropriate media. For more information, see Guidelines for printing on
both sides of a page and Load media.
    2. Make sure the duplexer is installed correctly. For more information, see Install the
    duplexer.
    3. With a document open, click Print on the File menu, and then under the Print on
Both Sides options on the Layout tab, select either Flip on Long Edge or Flip on
    Short Edge.
    4. Change any other settings, and then click OK.
    5. Print your document.
Depending on which flip you choose will determine how it prints on page 2.
Let me know how it goes or if you need any further help.
    Thank you,
I worked on behalf of HP.
