Printing with wireless lexmark 6500

Hello All - just bought a Time Capsule. I'm reconfiguring my home wireless. Was using a d-link router. On the network I Have a Lexmark 6500 series wireless printer. Printer has worked with no problems, printing wirelessly via a Macbook pro and Windows XP. With the new Time Capsule network I have established my mac book, windows XP and Apple TV are connected with no communication problems. However the Lexmark is not communicating with the Time Capsule. Does the Time Capsule have the capability to communicate with a wireless printer? Is there a solution to my wireless printing problem?
Thanks
Kyle

I'm wondering if my problem could be similar: I've set up my new 500GB Time Capsule to connect to the Internet via Sky Broadband using their wireless router, and that works fine, but I wanted to print wirelessly to my Epson DX8400 from my MacBook: the printer is connected to the TC via USB [and printed fine when connected directly to the MB via USB previously, altho' I did need to download the latest driver from the Epson website when I first bought it, as the driver supplied on the cd made everything print in negative] and all the settings look ok: the printer is recognised & highlighted, the Printer Queue shows print jobs in the lower pane as 'completed', but nothing actually prints! What's that all about?
It took me a few [!] goes to set up the TC initially for Time Machine, but that is also working fine now. Any more setup details required, just ask. Thanks in anticipation!

  • HP D110 AIO printer. Prints jam when printing with wireless, but not when hooked to USB cable! HELP!

I have a HP D110. It jams the paper when I print with wireless, but not when I use USB cable. Any ideas?

From what you describe you are having issues printing from MS Office. Have you had trouble printing from other resources on your computer (e.g. from the internet or another program)? The first thing I am going to suggest is that we start by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer from the resources available online.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!

  • I am having problem with trying to install the printer with wireless connection.i have windows 7

the blue light on top of the printer blinks very fast and intermitenly.  i cannot install the printer with wireless.  I tried with the CD that came with the printer but the green install bar just stops and freezes.  I have a 4 month old Dell laptop.  Printer just purchased from HP is Laser Jet Professional P1102w.

Are there any third party firewalls installed (e.g. Kaspersky, Norton, BitDefender, etc.)?  It sounds like something is blocking the software and third party firewalls have been known to block communication with the printer.
How far in the installation process do you get (what options are you able to get to)?
Is the USB cable connected at the start of the installation?
Do you receive any errors at all?  If so, what are they?
Have you tried using Smart Install?  Smart Install works by connecting the USB cable to the computer.  By default, you should get a prompt to run a file.  Running this file starts the Smart Install process.
This video is a good guide to Smart Install.

  • Printing with HP Officejet 6500 /wireless

I have put new ink cartridges in but my printer won't print still - do I have to do something with a toner? I have never done that before.

Did you set up your printer to work with your distinctive ring pattern?
    From the User Manual:
Many phone companies offer a distinctive ring feature that allows you to have several phone numbers on one phone line. When you subscribe to this service, each number is assigned a different ring pattern. You can set up the device to answer incoming calls that have a specific ring pattern.
If you connect the device to a line with distinctive ring, have your telephone company assign one ring pattern to voice calls and another ring pattern to fax calls. HP recommends that you request double or triple rings for a fax number. When the device detects the specified ring pattern, it answers the call and receives the fax.
If you do not have a distinctive ring service, use the default ring pattern, which is All Rings.
NOTE: The HP fax cannot receive faxes when the main phone number is off the hook.
To change the answer ring pattern for distinctive ring via the device control panel
    1. Verify that the device is set to answer fax calls automatically.
    2. Press Setup.
    3. Press Advanced Fax Setup, and then press Distinctive Ring.
    4. Press the right arrow button to select an option, and then press OK. When the phone rings with the ring pattern assigned to your fax line, the device answers the call and receives the fax.
To change the answer ring pattern for distinctive ring via the embedded Web server
    1. Click the Settings tab, click Advanced Fax Setup in the left pane.
    2. Select a ring pattern in the Distinctive Ring drop-down menu, and then click the Apply button

  • HP1102W can't print with wireless

    Greetings,
I wanted to report a problem i have with my printer (HP1102W).
    1. When I first bought the printer. It worked fine and both laptops that I had in my home could easily send files and print,
    2.  after a while, one of the laptops began to have problems to send files for it to print, I have checked to see if it was a wireless glitch of the laptop it self or such, but there wasn't.
3.I've also uninstalled and reinstalled it again but nothing changed and the problem still continued on my laptop.
    3. I've also used the HP doctor to see if it could detect something but it didn't (it says that everything is OK) and the problem still continues with one of my laptops.
Note: Both of my laptops have 64-bit and windows 7.
I'd be happy if you'd give me a solution or advice on how to solve the problem.

    Hi @kiakh ,
I see by your post that you are unable to print over the wireless network with the one computer. I would like to help.
Power cycle the router, turn the computer off and the printer.
Once the router is back up again, start the computer, wait till it fully loads and then turn the printer on again.
Clear the Spool folder and restart the Print Spooler.
How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7.
    Try printing again.
If the issue continues, print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IPv4 address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
    Did it load the page?
Find out what the computer is showing for the printer's IP by doing the following:
Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, go to printer properties, select ports tab, click configure port.
If they don't match then close the configure port window and click create a port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IP address.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Did they match?
If you created the new IP, test the printer or continue to the next step please.
Check the IPv4 address on the computer.
Go to start, type run in the search box, type in cmd, then type ipconfig.
    Check the IPv4 address.
Now check the IPv4 address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
    Try and ping the printer.
In the same window, type ping printers IP address (space between ping and IP address)
    What are the results?
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a great day!

  • Cannot print with wireless printer

I am having issues with my wirelss printer.  It worked well until a couple of weeks ago, and I don't know what has changed.  I have done all the troubleshooting possible, noting is resolved.  When i turn the printer on, the screen keeps saying there is an issue with a printer cartridge, there isn't that always comes up.  But, it will not let me access the screen on the printer, to use the wireless wizard thing.  Is there a way around this screen issue?  It is a HP Photosmart D110 series printer.  I don't really want to buy a new one!

    Hello sturner12a.
I understand you are experiencing issues with your Photosmart D110. Could you verify the exact error message on your printer? I understand you are unable to use your touch screen on your printer.
Once I verify this information I can assist you further with troubleshooting steps.
Looking forward to hear from you.

  • Connecting Ethernet Macs & printer with wireless network?

I have a small LAN (500MHz Cube, iMAC, Tally T8016 Laser Printer) handled by a Belkin 4-port router, connected to a cable modem.
I would like to incorporate a new Mac mini, a MacBook and an AirportExtreme Base Station but have some problems. Connecting the AEBS to the cable modem via WAN and the router via LAN works half way. All 4 computers connect to the Internet without problems and the 2 Mac's connected to the router can use the printer, but the wireless ones don't recognize it. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way to incorporate all 6 units (4 MAc's, printer and AEBS)?

Hmm .. it didn't work. When I remove NAT & DHCP I loose immediately all Internet connections on the 2 computers connected to the Belkin router.
    I have now tried to
    1. Shut down all computers, router, modem and AEBS.
    2. Hard reset AEBS - wait 2 hours.
    3. Connect Macmini to AEBS via Ethernet cable (LAN) and start up fresh. Internet connection works.
    4. Remove Ethernet and establish wireless connection - Internet connection works.
    5. Connect LAN output on AEBS to Belkin WAN input - [Belkin is still set to "no" NAT & DHCP].
    6. Start Cube (connected to Belkin) and printer (connected to Belkin) - still no Internet connection and printer invisible to Macmini.
I guess I have to try Option #2 now, that is, connect the Belkin router to the cable modem, use 1 port to connect to the AEBS and disable the "distribute" option on the AEBS, and use the router ports to connect the Cube and printer.

    Hi ruta46,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!

While uselessSABOTAGE's advice is great, in case of future issues, it would helps us in the future if you would post accurate tech specs of your model iMac.
You info states you have an older IMac PowerMac, but is also says your OS X version is OS X 10.7.2.
This is not possible. OS X 10.7.2 Lion only runs on Intel CPU Macs.
Please, go up to the Apple symbol in the upper top left of OS X main menu bar. Click the symbol. Then click About this Mac. A popup window appears that gives some basic info. Then, click the More Info button and both post your iMacs complete specs by selecting/highlighting all of the info and copy paste this into a reply to this post, editing out your iMac's serial number. Then update the info you posted in your user profile with some of this new found data for future postings.

  • After Leopard upgrade printing with lexmark 4350

After I installed Leopard, I was amazed that Apple has not find a solution for printing with my Lexmark 4350 printer. In fact Apple service just went quiet and refuses to even answer. I find this 'Microsoft Attitude' amazing. Issuing a new operating s/w and not telling the customers that they might have potential printing problems is irresponsible. Besides my frustration, my problem is the printer driver for the Lexmark 4350. It just does not work with Leopard. I can scan but not print.
Appreciate if anybody has a suggestion, even so it means buying another printer. If so which one?
    Thanks!

I don't know if you got a fix for this or bought a different printer but I found a work around for this. I just bought the new 20" iMac with Leopard installed. I have a Lexmark 4350 all in one. Lexmark's website states not to install the driver from the CD or to download from Lexmark website. Instead open system pref in Leopard, select print/fax. Add new printer. (be sure your printer is plugged in and powered on) Select the printer that shows and should get a message that unable to find drivers. Select the software updates and there should be a Lexmark 53MB driver update you can download. Do that (no need to restart) Printed my test page ok and I was able to scan as well. Hope this helps others!!

  • Printing with lion

Was able to print with my Lexmark E260dn printer with Snow Leopard. Since Lion upgrade, it's a no go. System recognizes the printer, but then gives me an error message. I've downloaded the new driver from Lexmark, deleted and re-added the printer, and even reset printer preferences. Nothing works. Any ideas?

What is the error message? Is there anything helpful in Console? Have you tried repairing permissions?

  • Setting up Lexmark 6500 Printer to use AEBS (WiFi) with USB or totally wireless

Ok I'm the one needing the help. I would prefer to set the printer up totally wireless but if no one knows the correct way then I'll take the USB way. This is with the Lexmark software that software update installs on the computer, not the disk that came with the printer.

I'm having a problem with this also. It worked fine with Leopard and Snow Leopard with a TrendNet wireless router. Then I updated to Lion and installed the new Lexmark drivers and even thoughthe Lexmark Wireles Setup assistant says the printer is connected to the WiFi network, I cannot add it in the Print and Fax list unless I have it connected via a USB cable to my iMac because it doesn't apprear in the list of aviable printers.
I recently got an Airport Extreme and the problem persists. I suppose can connect the printer via USB to the AEBS, but like you, I'm trying to have it connect wirelessly as it used to, and I have a hard drive connected already. Other users in our home network running Leopard and Tiger can print over the wireless network to the printer. But in Lion I can't see the printer unless it's plugged into the Mac.

  • I have a imac and a pc laptop set up with my wireless lexmark x7675 printer through my bthome hub network, but cannot get macbook pro to work

i have a lexmark wireless printer, its connected to my imac via wireless bthome hub connection, works fine, so does my pc laptop.  but when it comes to connect my macbook pro aswell it wont work.  i have installed lexmark drivers on macbook, i have follwed the wireless connection setup and plugged in via usb port. it says it has connected successfully, but it will not print.  i had it connected at one point, but would only print if the imac was on, but now it wont even do that.
please help, it seems like instead of connecting through bthome hub it wants to connect to my imac, how do i change this?

Well there would probably be different settings for the wireless.
For example, with a Lexmark printer although I needed to do nothing to get it to work via USB, to get the wifi working I had to use a special setup option for getting the wifi to work on my pc.
You can probably download the manual for your printer from the manufacturers website, and it should tell you how to get it to work with your printer.
