Private meeting in shared calendar

a colleague copied a recurring meeting from their calendar to the shared calendar and now it is marked as Private Appointment - how do I get rid of that - we cannot select it in any method.

Hi,
How does your colleague copy a recurring meeting to shared calendar? Does he/she copy just one recurring item or the entire series?
Generally, if users want to share a meeting in the shared calendar, they can create a meeting in their own calendar and add the shared mailbox as an attendee or they can directly create a meeting in shared calendar with proper folder permission.
If the appointment is marked as Private, please let the creator of this item unmark the Private flag from this item to have a try.

  • View private shared calendar in Outlook 2013

I use a PC with Windows 7 and Outlook 2013.  My wife use a Macbook Pro.  We both have iCloud accounts (I use iCloud 2.1.2).  Both of our calendars appear in iCloud.  We have private shared the calendars with each other.  We both received join e-mails and joined the calendars.  She can see my calendar in iCal and on her iPhone as well as her own from iCal.  I can see her calendar and my Outlook calendar on my iPhone.  I cannot see her calendar on Outlook.  The path ahead seems to be to subscribe to an Internet Calender from Outlook but there is no path to put into the Internet Calendar path enty box.  If I make her calendar public, then a path is provided and that works.  I tried removing the public access, but I don't think that the calendar is updating.  I am reticent to make her calendar public permanently; I am not comfortable with anyone knowing where my wife is at anytime.  How do I find a webcal path to a private shared calendar on iCloud?

I recommend that you post this in the Office 365 Exchange Online Forum:

  • Can not add a New appointment to a shared calendar in Outlook 2010, can only add a New Meeting.

I do not want e-mail being sent to the owner of the shared calendar everytime I add something.
When I view the appointment that im creating in the shared calendar the New appointment button is greyed out but the New meeting button is available.
The permision on the shared calendar for the user is:
    Custom
    Read = none
Write = create items, create subfolders, edit own
    delete = Own
    Other = folder visable
    Thanks

    Hi Cmrl,
Does it happen when you create an appointment via OWA?
Does it happen when you create an appointment via Outlook 2003?
Do you have any mobile device?
How many users encountered the issue, all users or some user?
At first, I suggest you recreate outlook profile.

  • Outlook 2013 - Meeting Tracking is not updated when a meeting is changed in a shared calendar

    Hello,
we have troubles in our Outlook 2013 environment.
We changed from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2013.
We have Exchange 2007 in background.
We have Outlook 2013 in Cached Mode.
    Problem description:
A secretary changes a meeting in a shared calendar of one of her bosses/colleagues. The colleague (organizer of meeting) gets responses of the attendees (aceptet, tentiative, denied) in his Mailbox. When he looks into the meeting to check how many persons
have acceptet the meeting, he founds out that the tracking is not update.
I found out in my first solution steps, that this occurs, when the meeting is changed in a shared calendar. When I change th meeting in my own calendar, it works. But we need a solution for the problem, because our secretaries are managing the meetings for
    some colleagues.
    Thanks for help,

    Hi,
For your situation, please try the following steps:
    1. Please install the lasted update for Outlook 2013, and then check the issue.
    2. Check if the AutomateProcessing calendar setting for your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 is set to
    None.
If so, please make sure the Exchange Server administrator start the Exchange Management Shell on the Exchange mailbox server.
Then, run the following command in the Exchange Management Shell:
    Set-MailboxCalendarSettings username -AutomateProcessing Autoupdate
Where username is the affected user's alias.
    3. Switch to Online Exchange mode to test the issue.

  • How to sync MS Exchange shared calendars and allow permissions?

    Hi Everyone,
We have a SBS2008 and MS Exchange with which we have a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy to work. We are having some issues in syncing shared calendars for conference room bookings as well as some other issues. We have an iPhone 5s and everyone has updated to iOS 8.
How do we allow one of our managers to access a shared calendar on their iPhone to book a room from a shared calendar and ensure that that is reflected across the calendar?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Are the Rooms you wish to book stored as Resources in Microsoft Exchange?
I have an app in the store called Roomr which connects to Exchange and allows you to view and book meeting rooms. This would enable your managers to book meeting rooms in advance and the data is stored in Exchange so it will sync with all users.
I know you want to use the Calendar app provided, but Roomr has the added benefit of providing you with an at-a-glance availability of meeting rooms, enabling you to see which ones are free instantly, without having to check multiple schedules.
It's free to try out and might help solve your problem https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/roomr-check-meeting-room-availability/id72284240 4?ls=1&mt=8

  • Outlook 2010 shared calendars

I work at Pensacola State College. We recently upgraded our Exchange servers to 2013. Our staff is using Outlook 2010.  We have about a half dozen  calendars that are shared among our admin staff of about 10 people (resources, not individual
users shared calendars). My problem is I have 2 users who continually lose their edit permissions on only 3 of those shared calendars. The other shared calendars have no issues, everyone that has permission can add/delete, etc. But
on the other 3 calendars in question at least 3-4 times a week 2 users (only) lose tha ability to make changes to these calendars. I can delete the calendars and reconnect to them and for the next day or 2 they work fine and then deja vu. I have checked these
2 users' settings with others in the department and they are identical. One night I asked one of the users that was having the issue to not shutdown or log off her PC, leave keep Outlook open and simply lock the PC. When she came in next morning and unlocked
her PC with Outlook still open she could not edit any of the 3 calendars in question (delete, re-add, problem gone).  One moring when one of the users called I took a laptop with a clean image and Office 2013 on it. Had her login and she still had the
same problem; could not edit any of the 3 calendars. Deleted them, readded, worked fine. This user works for the president; suggestions please??

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that there are 2 users always losing Editor permission for 3 shared calendars. Is there any error message or error logs when the issue occurs? Please collect it for further analysis.
Please confirm whether the problematic users still have Editor permission to these 3 shared calendars when the issue occurs. We can try to remove the Editor permission for 2 problematic users then re-add it to check whether the issue persists. If there is
any activesync device, please also disable it.
Generally, to prevent incorrect or missing meeting information, it is recommended to limit the number of delegates with Editor permissions. For more information about best practices when using the Outlook Calendar, please refer to:

  • Outlook 2007 Shared calendars problem

    Hi,
We are having a problem with shared calendars in outlook 2007. A colleague went on holiday for two weeks and whilst he was away, he was seeing people accepting new meeting times sent by the PAs but despite being an invitee he wasnt recieving invites and
    his calendar didn't update.
His calendar is shared with the PA, and she changes his appointments as and when required. Until this week, this worked no problem. Now, when she changes events on his calendar, he doesn't see the change, even when re-synched it shows no different.
Occasionally, he will create an event himself - he did this today to show me - he created the meeting, invited the board, they all accepted, and then voila, the event was in the board's calendar (showing as HIS event) but wasn't in his calendar at all.
I'm alright at email and exchange but I don't use and know nothing about outlook calendars (I'm still a strong believer in the Filofax ;))
    Please help!
    Jak

So sorry -- I shut down Outlook and restarted it to find that both add-ins were now present, and everything seems to be working. Unfortunately, I don't know how to delete this thread.

  • Shared Calendar Interoperability (2013 / 2007)

    Hello,
We have two Exchange servers in our Organization, a 2007 where most mailboxes reside, and a 2013 where we are slowly doing a one off user migration here and there to test the waters so to speak.
We have users that constantly have/had problems with Outlook freezing on send, or other connectivity issues.  These are our first target people to move to the new server.  I have one user who I moved yesterday who is trying to share a calendar
she calls "Managers Schedules" to other managers.  She created this calendar and keep in mind she is on the 2013 server now.  She shared it with reviewer permissions to 4 other employees but those 4 others are still on the 2007 server.
The other people are getting an email with links to view the calendar but they say that they cannot open it.  The person sending this is also getting a message that they should publish the calendar.  When they click yes to that, IE opens up
to Outlook Web Access????  I said lets just see what happens if you log into OWA.  She did and it gave her some options to make the calendar public or private and it gave her two links to copy.   Now I was able to open the one link... it downloaded
an ical file, however I am on the 2013 server.  No one else can open the links.
So long story short, is there any kind of interoperability between shared calendars on Exchange 2007 and 2013 (vice versa)?  Or am I going to have to move these 4 other users to the new server, which in turn will likely cause a chain reaction since
they are managers and have access to their employees email inboxes as additional mailboxes in Outlook.

    Hi,
We can’t directly share the calendar which is not the default calendar for a user. Generally, we would share a custom calendar by the following steps:
Right-click the custom Calendar, click Share > E-mail Calendar. Then the calendar would be added as an attachment in a message.
When the recipients receive the message, click Open this Calendar, a window would be prompted out to ask if add this Internet Calendar to Outlook. You should only open Calendars from sources you know and trust.
Please e-mail calendar in Outlook Online mode by the steps above. Then check whether the issue persists.

  • No information in Shared Calendar but can see in Scheduling Assistant

I have always been able to see a co-worker's calendar under my "Shared Calendars" list (full details).  However, now when I select that calendar, nothing appears.  But, if I try to schedule a meeting with him, I can see his free/busy
information in Scheduling Assistant as well as if I look at his calendar under webmail (People's Calendars).  Any idea on how to see this information on the desktop client again?  Running Outlook 2010, and this is an exchange email account.

    Hi,
From your description, I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
Click File -> Info -> Account Settings -> Select account -> click repair -> Restart Outlook.
Select Mail Icon -> Click Send/Receive -> Click Work Offline (you will see an X on Outlook in your task bar) -> click Work Offline (the X will disappear from the task bar)
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • How can I stop recieving notifications for shared calendars?

How can I "mute" my whife's calendar? I want to see it, but not recieve her reminders and notifications. She has the same problem, she don't need to geet a pop up every time I have a meeting.
Is there a way to "mute" shared calendars?

I have the same problem with my/wife's shared calendar and from what I've read in the forum and tried, there's no way I've been able to avoid notifications.  As I recall, there's a setting somewhere to turn off notifications on shared calendars, but I tried it and it didn't fix the problem (if indeed it was supposed to fix that problem).

  • Shared Calendar and Permissions

    Hello,
I have a shared calendar that we use in my organization and only 1 person has publishing editor rights while the rest of the company has reviewer rights. The problem is that if a reviewer opens a time block, instead of restricting the ability to post to
the calendar, it lets them send a meeting invite. Any idea on how I can set it to completely block the reviewers from being able to send the request?
Also, we are using o365 with my Outlook 2010 set up.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I can confirm if a user has been granted with the Reviewer permission in Outlook 2010, when he double clicks on a time block, a meeting invitation is created.
While with the same permission in Outlook 2013, the user will get a message that says "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder..."
As far as I can tell, it should be by design in Outlook 2010 and we can't change this so far. Anyway we don't have to worry about this too much, the user only creates an invitation window and only when the calendar owner accepts it will an item be created
    on the calendar.

  • Shared calendar permission problems

I am setting up a shared calendar for our office for our on-call schedule.  I need people to be able to add information to the calendar but not be able to delete anyone else's entries.  I have the settings set to "Author".
I have a recurring event set every day for our after-hours on-call schedule.  People enter their names in the notes section of the event next to blocks that I have created to designate that they will be the person on call that evening.  The event
doesn't get deleted but the names that have been entered have disappeared twice!
The notes section looks like this:
    Duty:
    Alternate #1:
    Alternate #2:
    Alternate #3:
The form is always there but the names that were entered disappear.

    Hi,
Based on my research, when if the organizer or the attendee adds notes to an occurrence, Outlook creates a meeting exception. Later, if the meeting series is updated and a full update is sent, any notes in the
    meeting exceptions will be lost.
For more information about it, please refer to Recurring meetings in:

  • 3rd Boss Delegated Calendar not in Shared Calendar folder

    Dear all,
Need your help to solve this situation on Secretary's Outlook Calendar view.
The Secretary has 3 Bosses. A is her direct report. B & C reports to A.
2 of them (A & B) shared their calendar. They both shown in Shared folder in the Secretary's Outlook
C also shared the calendar but C shown in Team folder NOT Shared folder like A & B.
(They do it from File->Account settings->Delegate Access->Add (and choose default, Editor access to delegate).
C's calendar cannot be modifid by the secretary now
Is there any body know how to move C to shared folder? And How could C go to the Team folder instead of shared?
    Please advise
    Thanks

    Hi Visipro,
Would you please post the result of command without sensitive information?
Please try below steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Open secretary’s calendar by "Open a Shared Calendar...", he can see both calendars in her Outlook.
    2. Try to open and modify a test meeting on C’s calendar.
    3. Please also try to do it in Outlook Online mode.
If possible, please delegate C’s calendar to another user to see whether it works or not.
Besides, please post related error messages for further troubleshooting.

  • Permission error from shared calendar Ofiice 2011

I am receiving the following errors every 15 seconds:
Permission Error. Changes to the event "Management Meeting" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission.
Permission Error. Changes to the event "" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission.
I have narrowed it down to a calendar that is being shared with me. When I remove the shared calendar the error messages go away. When I add it back the error messages come back.

  • Access shared calendars on exchange 2007

I'm trying to access shared Exchange calendars on my iphone and I cant see how to do this. Does anyone know how to do this?  If i require a 3rd party app to do this, can anyone recomend one please?
I can see the shared calendars on outlook 2010 and I would expect to see them in the calendar list on my iphone.
    Thanks

Thanks, russcus, you've brought me one step closer to figuring out how to use Snow Leopard and Exchange 2007 together. As we're on the topic here, I need to take a moment to voice why Apple's implementation is very disappointing.
Of your 3 suggestions, #1 should just be working out of the box. iCal should be able to see these calendars- Entourage can. As long as others in the organization have Calendar: Properties: Permissions: "default" set to "reviewer", they've granted read privileges to everyone else in the organization. Pulling up a view of another's calendar is as simple as "Open Other User's Folder", enter email address, verify, use. It's a rare and sad day when I wish Apple's software just worked as well as Microsoft's.
While #2 and #3 will work (I verified only #3), it's far more effort on the calendar owner's part. Everyone who might need calendar privileges must be managed separately, vs the wholesale organization-wide granting Entourage can do. This is a unneeded overhead that causes complication whenever staff changes.
Additionally, the scheduling assistant is less useful than in Entourage. In iCal, the availability of others is boiled down to only free or busy. In Entourage, a mouseover of an event in the Scheduling view provides event title and location data (as long as the event isn't flagged as private). My staff won't like loosing the ability to answer the question "exactly what is user X busy with at this time?" if we were to move to iCal.
If I'm misunderstanding something, please let me know. I'd prefer to not be right on these observations, as they're going to be problems in leaving Entourage for the Apple native suite of apps.
Regarding public folders- they are on Microsoft's list of discontinued features:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998911.aspx
I'm just speculating, but I doubt Apple put development efforts into supporting a feature that's on the way out.
