Privileges to grant to developers for xml.?

Hi,
I had installed the XML parser for plsql and
sql utility by doing the following way
1)logged in as DBA
2) Executed initjvm.sql
3)granted privilages javauserpriv and javasyspriv to dba.
4)loadjava xmlparserv2.jar
loadjava xmlplsql.jar
5) sqlplus> @load.sql
( for installing plsql xml parser).
6)sqlplus>catxsu.sql
Now I want to allow the other users
to develop the xml applications.
what privileges i should give the users
so that they should be enable to
develop xml applications.
I had already granted javauserpriv and javasyspriv to the users.
I didnt found any good documentation
to set up the xml development enivironment.

This is a known bug that has been fixed in 11.1.0.7.0. As a workaround, please try assigning to the user a non-zero quota, instead of unlimited quota, for the tablespace. To create a semantic model, invoker does not need DBA privileges.

You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as administrator and then retry this installation

Hi all
Have seen a couple threads regarding this but unfortunately nothing that solves my problem thus far!
Right now, our developers are using the Domain Admin account to promote their website code using MSI files. I'd like to change this as I feel the Domain Admin account should be on lock down and only used when absolutely necessary, pretty common. The
same goes for my account too, I would like to absolve as much use of the Domain Admin as I can.
Problem is, when they run installers from their own accounts, they receive this error: You do not have sufficient privileges
to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as administrator and then retry this installation
The accounts they are using are part of the Built In Administrators group and the Domain Admins group... I'm not sure what other permission you'd need in a domain? We've gone as far as explicitly giving them local admin access on this server and still
nothing changes.
Is there a Group Policy or something that I can change to provide install rights and possibly remove these accounts as Domain Admin and more along the line of Power User?

Script to create grants and synonyms for objects in database

Hello,
We are building a patch to be applied to the production environment. I want to create a script/sql query that builds a list of grants and synonyms for all the objects created after august 09.
for ex:
create or replace synonym abc for schema_name.abc;
Grant execute on abc to user_xyz;
How can I use Oracle's data dictionary to do this?

You'll probably want to use these views:
user_objects - includes created (DATE) column.
user_synonyms
user_tab_privs - not just tables (e.g., includes EXECUTE privileges on functions).
Data dictionary views beginning with 'user_' cover objects owned by the current user only.
Almost all of the data dictionary views (and all of the three mentioned above) also have 'all_' and 'dba_' versions.
For example:
all_objects inculdes everything in user_objects, plus objects in other schemas on which the current user has privileges.
dba_objects include every object in the database. (Not everyone is allowed to see the dba_ views.)
Here's one of many possible ways to use these views:

What privileges or role is required for user to acces the explain plan?

Can anyone pls tell me what privileges or roles(grants) are requred for a user to access the explain plan in oORACLE 8i 8174..
I think the select any dictionary is not valid for explain plan accessibility in 8i.

I already had that... Just that a user (not a dba) requires access to the explain plan and I dont want to grant him a dba role.
Are you aware of any other grant I can give to the user?

LaxmanYou can fiind out all the users and roles who have been granted system privileges by querying dba_sys_privs.
For example:
SELECT     grantee
,     privilege
FROM     dba_sys_privs
WHERE     privilege     LIKE '% ANY %'
;The grantee column includes users and roles together.
If you want to find which users have the dba role, then query dba_role_privs.

WITHIN clause for XML

I know that within clause works for XML in clob, but I tried to save XML in bfile, after I create index, the WITHIN query always return 0 rows, does WITHIN work for bfile?

Error for fetching long text in xml tag for xml publisher report

My requirement is to fetch a large document which is in text format in XML output which can be printed in PDF format by using RTF method to generate PDF.But during XML ouput i got the following error-
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh
button, or try again later.
The following tags were not closed: XXBG_EAMWRREP_V1, LIST_G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, LIST_G_MEDIA_ID1,
G_MEDIA...
XXBG_EAMWRREP_V1 is the rdf and LIST_G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, G_WO_ACTIVITY_CODE, LIST_G_MEDIA_ID1, G_MEDIA are the groups name. In the group
G_MEDIA i am fetching long_text from attahcment in application. In Database table the datatype of the text attachment is 'long' and there is a huge text
data loaded in large data editor of that column. If the text data volume is small enough then there is no problem for fetching the xml output.
If we change the output format as HTMl then there is no problem for fetching the output for long text but for xml output format we are unable to fetch the data
in xml tag.
One thing to mention the oracle report is the copy of Maintenance Work Order Detail Report. The seeded report is HTML format in 11i. The requirement is to make it in xml report.

FO processing for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program

Hello,
I am facing the following problem: if i try to burst a report using XML Publisher Report Bursting Program special characters like (ş,ţ,ă, etc.) in the resulting PDF look strange. I have tried running the report without bursting it and the characters appear just fine (after i've set the FO Processing Font Mapping). My guess is that XML Publisher Report Bursting Program is not using the right font mapping. Have you faced this problem before? Do you have any idea how to set the right font mapping for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program.

So the answer was to make sure the location in the bursting file (location="xdo://schema.template_code.en.US) exactly matches the language/country setting in the uploaded Definition. Then make sure the fonts have been added to the xdo.cfg file matching what your Font Mappings are:

Unable to locate Spring NamespaceHandler for XML schema namespace

I am not sure if this is the best practice approach but this is the problem I am ruining into. Below, I explain what I am doing:
1) What I am doing:

Based on the oracle incubator example (http://coherence.oracle.com/display/INCUBATOR/Processing+Pattern+Examples); I am running a server and submitting tasks through a proxy application that submits them to ProcessingPatternConfigurator; let's call my task processReport.
a) my processReport is using spring and ibatis together, I created a utility static class to obtain a spring context and retrieves beans using the following lines ( see exhibit "A1 and A2" below).
b) when my task calls the context and that spring loads, it is failing with the error show in exhibit "B".
I suspect I am missing a lib? I googled the error and searched you site but could find a meaningful discussion on it. I guess my question is if this is not the best approach, how do I integrated with spring initializing beans and setting up ibatis framwork, providing beans and database access through Ibatis for each task ruining on the grid (processReport).

My guess is that something is broken in the configuration of the cacheServer and its not finding
all of the dependencies that your process pattern application needs. Probably the best way
to debug this stuff is to define a static main in your runnable task which will make the call
to the run() method and invoke it as the main class using the identical settings (classpath,
run directory) that you are using to launch the Coherence cache server.

How to use useMaxValue property in ODI for XML?

I am using 11.1.1.5 version of ODI. I want to use "useMaxValue" for which description is given as follows by oracle.
When this property is set to true, elements for which maxOccurs is not specified in the XSD are considered as maxOccurs ="unbounded". Otherwise, the driver assumes that maxOccurs=1 when maxOccurs is not specified.
when I use this property as useMaxValue in the JDBC url for XML technology I get the following error.
ODI-1227: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the source XML connection XML FILE.
Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: ODI-40717: Unknown parameter : usemaxvalue
I am trying to get multiple records for the same elements in XML for this I am using this property. Is there any other way to get it done?

I checked the database and there isn't MTL_ONHAND_DISCREPANCY synonym. But there is MTL_ONHAND_DISCREPANCIES synonym.
This is an upgraded instance from 11.0.3 and first time I am running Re-create grants and synonyms for APPS schema.
Plz let me know if anyone of you faced this issue.

there is no such table MTL_ONHAND_DISCREPANCY or synonym in Applications 11.5.10.2. Is that custom table created in your db?
After dropping this table from APPS schema 'Re-create grants and synonyms for APPS schema' went thru fine.Its correct
This table does not exist in INV schema in 11.5.10.2.
Could be possible that the consultant could have created this table in INV and APPS schema by mistake or whatever.Yes, with the same name, there might be table in APPS SCHEMA. When you run recreate grants and synonyms, adadmin tries to create synonym for that table in APPS schema. since there is object available with the same name in apps chema, you got that error.

What should i put in Schme while creating Data server for XML

I am new to XML and ODI also.
I was trying to create a data server for XML technology.
I don't know what should i specify as a schmea in JDBC URL.
e.g. jdbc:snps:xml?f=../demo/xml/1/file.xml&ro=false&ldoc=true&case_sens=true&s=LEO_FIZ&dod=true
here schema is LEO_FIZ, so my doubts is LEO_FIZ is a database schema or what ??
Please help me out.

The schema referred to here is going to be used by the XML driver for the instantiation of the temporary schema used for the xml data. It can be any name, I recommend you keep it short, as if you use an external database for the XML data instantiation it is used as a part of the "table" names.

Privileges to grant to developers for xml.?
