Prob with iTunes on Vista! Please Help!

hi guys,
i am getting the following error message when i install iTunes 7.5 version

i also tried iTunes 7.4 version but i am getting the same error message
iTunes used to work before, but suddenly the prob
i tried unistalling and installing the app again but in vain...

Okay. Literally, it's saying that one of the dlls associated with Cryptographic Services on the PC is damaged. That can cause an iTunes launch failure.
... However, most of our experience here at Discussions is with troubleshooting these sorts of messages on Windows XP systems, rather than Vista and I don't have a Vista box handy for reference.
So, if you don't receive any further replies here, it might be best to try posting instead at the Windows Vista Community Discussions Groups. Fingers crossed someone there might be better placed to help you troubleshoot this:

Multiple Problems with itunes...PLEASE HELP

i'm crossing posting this to try and get as much help as possible, so i'm sorry if you see this in a bunch of places.....
i posted awhile back and didnt get much help and i'm still having problems with itunes
first of all when i open itunes it attempts to do the gapless playback stuff....if i let it do it....it gets half way through and freezes....but if i stop it before it freezes, i am able to play music BUT not import any songs from cd, ipod, or downloading software....
so, i deleted the library and imported "iTunes Music Library.xml"....then i went into my itunes folder and started dropping the songs into itunes...and i got about 3/4s of my music (about 25 gigs) and it starts to freezes when looking for album covers....if i force quit and reopen the song will be in there...just not the album work....which is fine....but if i have to force quit every time i import a song, its going to get rediculous....i have tried deleting the library and importing the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file about 6 times now, with the same results.....
ALSO...when i connect my ipod to my computer (i have 80 gig 5G) it will freeze while syncing....
i honestly have NO idea what to do....any suggestions would be welcomed...thanks....

Lots of frustrations with iTunes...please help?

I've had my iPod for forever[it's a mini..i'm not sure how many GBs...maybe 2? 4? It holds 1,000 songs ;)], and just recently I got it working again. I reset it, because I wanted to completely start over with adding songs to it. I updated everything [iTunes and my iPod] so that everything is as current as possible. But I'm having a problem with iTunes. It only lets me add one song at a time, and goes extremely slow [I mean, slow, like 3 or 4 minutes per song]. The slowness I can deal with, but lately it's been giving me this message when I try and add songs:
Attempting to copy to the disk failed. Disk could not be read from or written to.
It does it on most of my songs, and it's getting rather annoying. Does anybody have any ideas about what's going on or how I could fix it? Also, any ideas on mkaing it run faster would be appreciated.

I am trying to remove a single song from my kids Ipod 5th gen ipod with itunes 11.0.1.2. With older versions of itunes i was able to right click on the content that i wanted to remove and select delete. I for the life of me can not figure out how to remove content with itunes 11. i have a lot of apple devices , iphone,ipad,ipod touch, and so on and so on. I am so frusterated that i feel like thowing it all in the garbage and starting over with another product.

Everything works the same in iTunes 11 as in previous versions.

iTunes has been prompting me to download the new version for months, but after what happened to me the last time I was very wary of upgrading (see http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board...ad.php?t=241985 ) Today I decided it was probably just an unfortunate fluke first time round and so I upgraded. Exactly the same thing has happened again. When I click update I am taken to the apple site where it promps me to download. After doing this it replaces the icon on my desktop with the new version. When I open the new version there is nothing there, just like a brand new install for the first time, but similiarly to last time all the old files are still on the computer. I have now added them to my library, but it is incredbly annoying, I've lost all my playlists, lost all the play counts etc. Why on earth doesn't iTunes just upgrade like most other pieces of software and retain its settings and details? I tried to import the old library, which is actually still there but I just keep getting a message saying "error 10". Does anybdy know why this keeps happening and can you give me any tips to avoid it in the future?

i'm not sure i like this erratic behavior by the PC. (i daresay you're not having much fun either.)
let's pause for a moment (when it comes to trying to directly attack the symptoms you're getting) and do some spring cleaning and maintenance instead.
download fresh definitions and run vigorous virus and spyware scans. if your security software providers offer them, run online scans too. (they can sometimes pick up an infection on a PC when the security software on the PC has been compromised.)
do a disk cleanup, run your favorite disk checking/repair utility, and do a disk defrag. reboot. repair/refresh your network connection (if you've got one).
does that show up anything unusual?

Home Media Server with iTunes...Please Help!

Hello,
My goal:
Set up mac mini as iTunes server that stores music on NAS.
I want to be able to connect with multiple laptops.
Also, I want to be able to purchase from the laptops and download to the NAS so that all of my libraries are the same.
Is there a way to configure this in iTunes, or do I need to use a 3rd party application( If so, boooo apple).

Whenever I click on the iTunes icon, on my desktop, a window pops up that says...
"QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.1.3 or later.
Please reinstall iTunes."
Kay, so I reinstalled iTunes.
And it still doesn't work.
So I uninstalled and reinstalled...
so on..you get the picture.
Bottom line? I'm still getting the same message. And I can't get past it.

Try swapping out your existing QuickTime. Go to your Add/Remove programs and uninstall QuickTime.
Next, manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
Next, install a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of iTunes. Switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
Go into Add/Remove and select iTunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch properly now?

Urgh its just so annoying that Apple updated Itunes 11 and it wouldnt let me delete songs that I hate! Its syncing all of the songs and I didnt want that to happen. I tried many things on the keyboard like clicking the song along with Ctrl + Alt + delete button and clicking on the song, going to edit and the delete button seemed to be gone from it. I am getting the same message when I try to install the latest version of iTunes, I am running on Windows Vista Home Premium. I have tried so many different things to try to correct this and have now completly unistalled it from my laptop..... Now I have no iTunes what-so-ever on it and still can't install it. Perhaps those apps require a newer version of iOS than is compatible with your iPod.

Itunes 11.1 is for your computer, not your iphone
It is required in order to sync with ios 7.

Did you try to restore it with itunes it should work then.Or try and reset it by going to settings/general/reset. If it doesn't work than go to apple some time and tell them about the error if they don't fix it than I am confused and have no clue what to do.
