    Hello ,
    In the marketplace-PAM,  RedHat Enterprise 6 is not listed as approved for EHP1 Solution Manager 7.0 64 bit (unicode) with Oracle.
    Does anyone have any information on this subject?
    Has anyone installed the Solution Manager 7.0/Oracle with RedHat Enterprise 6?

    Yes, you are correct. Apart from PAM, following Note confirms this. RHEL 6 is not supported yet for Oracle, is in planning stage.

  • Error starting java in RedHat Enterprise ES v3

    Hello all. I'm posting hoping someone has run into this before and might be able to help me.
    We've set up a number of boxes with Redhat Enterprise ES v3, and upgraded the kernel from the stock RedHat 2.4.21 to 2.4.26 because we required reiserfs support (no idea why it isn't bundled from RedHat).
    We are using j2sdk1.4.2_02.
    Once the kernel was upgraded, I tried to run java and we get a strange error. Java runs fine with the stock kernel, but not with the new one.
    At this point in time, I'm inclined to think I neglected to enable an option in the kernel configuration, but I went back and wasn't able to find anything.
    Any idea what could be causing this issue? The complete error is below.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi ditg.
    I have no idea what was causing the problem on 2.4.26, but at this point in time, I'm almost 100% sure it's a kernel-specific issue.
    The workaround I came up with was rebuild the 2.4.21 kernel using the RedHat sources, disabling all the non-necessary modules and basically make it as slim as possible.
    Once we successfully recompiled 2.4.21, j2sdk1.4.2.02/3/4 runs fine.
    Hope this helps....

  • RedHat Enterprise Cluster and Cisco IGMP Snooping/Querying

    Has anyone else had any experience with IGMP Snooping/Querying and RedHat Enterprise Cluster?
    We have been experiencing a large amount of problems with this functionality.
    We are running IGMP Querying in our environment and we recently set up a second querier.
    Here's the steps we took
    Existing querier:  192.168.3.248
    Everything was running fine.
    Added a new querier on a different switch: 192.168.3.247
    At this point, all of our RedHat Enterprise Clusters fenced themselves and needed to be restarted in order to restore
    access.  In order to restart the RedHat Enterprise Clusters, the physical servers must be rebooted.
    Are there any known issues with RedHat Enterprise Clustering and Cisco Switches (3750
    series)?  I would expect the querier change to be seamless, but it does not seem that this
    is the case.

    Hi,
    In our organizaiton we have Red Hat Cluster with 2 cisco switch (Model: cisco WS-C2960S-24TD-L, Version: "flash:/ c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3/c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin").
    - We are using HP Chassis c7000 and Server is on the chassis. There are 2 service IC & Med. Each server has one service primary and other secondary running.
    - The two cluster switches are connected each other with Ether channer trunk (1+1) link. Also these 2 switches are connected to our Mgmt switch for Server Admin access to HP Chassis via OA port. The Red Hat system has cluster lan (pri & sec) & OA lan (01 & 02 of HP chassis) connected to Cluster switches. The Mgmt VLAN is 501 - 172.31.10.0/24.
    Problem:
    When the CluserSW01 goes down the cluser shifted to CluseterSW02 with Cluser_Secondary_LAN and OA2. But when the ClusterSW01 switch comes again than the communication breaks and cluster don come up.
    I was thinking this is either STP or IGMP, well sure though. As these are production systems hence we also couldn't do much more test as well.
    If you have face any such issue or have experience with it or know what the problem might be... kindly share with me.
    Thanks,
    Adnan

    Hi,
    Has anyone ever had any problem using XML in NES 4.0 sp3?
    I'm using the libraries com.sun.xml.parser, com.sun.xml.tree, javax.xml.transform.
    The html is being created but is not being returned.
    (it is not showed in browser)
    This same xml application works well in Solaris with Iplanet Web Server 4.1, but it is not working in HP-UX with Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0 sp3.
    I'm entirely lost. I don't know if there is a bug in this version (NES 4.0) or if I need other xml libraries or it is a problem of JRE version.
    Any comments will be appreciate.

  • Problem with the Enterprise version of Adobe Reader 10.1.3

    I think there might be something wrong with the enterprise distribution.

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1, RedHat Enterprise Linux, MySQL, ODBC

    Iu2019m confused about connecting to an ODBC source from a report within CMC. Iu2019m a Unix guy; I donu2019t know much about Crystal reports, but Iu2019m working with a Crystal guy to get this thing working.
    <br><br>
    First, background: I have installed Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 in RedHat Enterprise Linux (5.4), and itu2019s running just fine! Iu2019m using the included Tomcat application server, but Iu2019m storing CMS and Audit data our local running copy of MySQL (5.1.42). The RHEL install is native 32-bit (the only way I could get it to work), Crystal is storing and retrieving data from MySQL, The Central Management Console is responding to port 8080 over Tomcat, Iu2019m able to log in and see stuff, and so far, life is good.
    <br><br>
    Now, where Iu2019m stuck: the data weu2019re trying to build reports from <i>also</i> resides in this local Linux / MySQL install, and connecting to it from a report within CMC is where Iu2019m lost.
    <br><br>
    First, I successfully installed the unixODBC and MyODBC drivers in Linux. Iu2019m able to connect to MySQL successfully using the isql utility. Here are my conf files:
    <br><br>
    <pre class="jive-pre"><code class="jive-code jive-java">/etc/odbc.ini
    [DSN_NAME]
    Driver = MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
    DATABASE = project_web_prod
    DESCRIPTION = Project Description
    UID = username
    PWD = password
    SOCKET = /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
    /etc/odbcinst.ini
    [MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver]
    Driver = /usr/lib/libmyodbc5.so
    UsageCount = 1
    </code></pre>
    <br>
    Again, this all works with isql (Iu2019ve even used both a socket connection, and port 3306, in odbc.ini).
    <br><br>
    Now, our Crystal guy uploads a report into the CMC. I go to <i>Folders -> <Project Folder></i>, right-click the report I want to test, click <i>Database Configuration</i>, and check the option <i>Use custom database login information specified here</i>. I select database driver <i>ODBC</i> from the dropdown, and type in the server, database, username, and password info. However, when I try to run the report, it fails to connect.
    <br><br>
    So, stupid question, can Crystalu2019s CMC use the system ODBC configuration options? (The ones stored in /etc). Because I saw an odbc.ini file in ~crystalinstalldir/bobje/. I edited it to match the contents of my /etc/odbc[inst].ini files, but to no avail. I saw that Crystal has itu2019s own ODBC engine, but it doesnu2019t support MyODBC driver, does it? I even tried hacking env.sh to use the system unixODBC library instead of the included one, but no luck.
    <br><br>
    So, in short, my question: how do I simply get reports in CMC to connect to a MySQL data source (using ODBC)?
    <br><br>
    Thanks so much! An answer to this question will save my day!
    <br><br>

    Thank you, Efstratios, for the helpful reply!
    So, I followed the directions in the PDF file you attached, and everything went smoothly. However, Iu2019m still not able to connect to ODBC within CMC.
    Hereu2019s what I did:
    <ul style="list-style-type:disc">
    <li>Copied the unixODBC libraries over to &lt;installdir&gt;/bobje/enterprise120/linux_x86/odbc/lib</li>
    <li>Removed MySQL ODBC connector 5.1, installed MySQL ODBC connector 3.51.</li>
    <li>Edited &lt;installdir&gt;/bobje/defaultodbc.ini, added my DSN and MySQL library info as per the instructions (I have both an odbc.ini, and defaultodbc.ini, identical files, just to be safe)</li>
    <li>Tested the connection using these libraries, this odbc.ini, and isql. Worked just fine</li>
    </ul>
    So, my problem seems to be in getting the CMC to actually <i>use</i> my ODBC setup!
    Any other hints / things I could try?
    When I right-click a report, and go to &ldquo;Database Configuration,&rdquo; which connection options should I use for the report? Iu2019ve tried both &ldquo;Use original database logon information from the report,&rdquo; and &ldquo;Use custom database logon information specified here&rdquo; (using the ODBC option from the drop-down menu). Either way, if I enter in the database, username, password, and then try to run the report (&ldquo;Run Now&rdquo;), I get this message in the History: &ldquo;Failed - Information is needed before this report can be processed.&rdquo;
    Is there another place I could get a more helpful error message? Or is there, perhaps, another way I could test database connectivity from within CMC? I wish there were at least a &ldquo;Test Database Connection&rdquo; optionu2026 :P
    Thanks so much for your help!

  • Trying to configure RedHat Enterprise 4.3 linux jumpstart server

    I am trying to configure a system under RedHat Enterprise 4.3 linux to jumpstart
    a Sun Ultra 60 and install Solaris 9. Web pages and SysAdmin 4/2005 article
    "Portable JumpStart Environment" have not addressed my problem. I am using
    Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Server V3.0.1. The bootblock is
    delivered to the sun client and executes.
    The entries in dhcpd.conf conform to those published in various Web
    pages and the article "Portable Jumpstart".
    The Solaris 9 OS distribution is exported thus:
    /wks xxx.xx.xx.0/24(ro,wdelay,no_root_squash,mountpoint)
    The load fails upon execution of .../Solaris_9/Tools/Boot/sbin/rcS
    I think the problem may be with NFS. The mount request of the
    exported filesystem appears to work:
    rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from sunxxx.xx.xx.xx:1023 for /wks/dist/sun/sparc/sunos5.9/9_404/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot (/wks)
    The first errors reported are:
    /sbin/rcS: /dev/null: cannot open
    /sbin/rcS: /dev/null cannot create
    I have captured the conversation between the linux jumpstart server and
    the Sun client using tcpdump: tcpdump -vvv -s 192 host server and client.
    I am not highly skilled at interpreting the tcpdump output; the cause of
    the failure is not obvious to me.
    I have successfully used a jumpstart server under Solaris 9 for quite some time. ISC DHCP is deployed on the Solaris jumpstart server.
    Thank you,
    D. Castellano

    While some have reported success doing this, I have heard of many failures. The common thread appears to be that when accessing device files, the Solaris client gets back something odd from the Linux NFS server.
    Certainly this was the case for every attempt I knew about from a 2.2 kernel and earlier. I have see success reports, but do not have details about exactly which kernel or NFS patches were present.
    This works fine from Network appliance and FreeBSD NFS servers, so I think there's some sticky point with the Linux NFS server that just doesn't handle the device files in the same manner.
    See this newsgroup post (and the accompanying thread). It contains some discovered issues and some Linux servers that are reported to work.

    Sanjay --
    I don't know what "set all ORACLE variables" means. Is there a manual page somewhere that explains this? I mean, there are a LOT of variables.
    This XE installation works 99.99% of the time, involving hundreds of tables and a large variety of queries, functions, packages, triggers etc. Only this one transaction causes the error, so I'm not sure what additional ORACLE variables would need to be set or modified.
    Also, what's the procedure for submitting an SR to Oracle? Do you have a link? I looked at the Oracle site and it seems to require the user to have a commercial support level before anything can be submitted.
    Thanks.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1

    Hi All,
    We are in the process of implementing CR2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1.
    We have completed the installation successfully. We can connect from CR2008 client desktop directly to BI-7 using the BO SAP Connector. But We have the following issues,
    1) On CMC (OB Ent Server) we don't see any business object related roles in the list of values under the authorization. We see 3 J2EE related roles only.  We did everything according to the documentation. Changed JCO (sapjco.jar) along with the DLLs to various versions and even changed the 64bit to 32bit but no luck. Classpath is also set in Tomcat but still we don't see any of the BO related roles.
    2) We have created a connection to universe using Designer (BO Ent). But when we try to connect from CR2008 to universe though the Business Object Enterprise Server using the client desktops, we can only select the fields for the query. But when we try to confirm the query we get a message saying NOT LOGGED ON.
    Are we doing the right thing ? We have BI-7 installed on Windows 2003 (64 Bit Server) and BO Enterprise Server XI 3.1 and SAP Connector XI 3.1 Server was also installed on the same server. We have client desktops with Crystal Report 2008 with SAP Connector Client installed.
    What are we missing ?
    Appreciate if you could kindly help us to get this problem solved as this is dragging for a while now.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Thanks and Regards
    Kushan
