Problem about implementation of a controller in main_vi based on the test data of sub_vi
Hi Group:
I am developing a measurement and control system based on the PCI-6040E and SCXI1001,1102, and 1160.
But now, I have a question ,which is how to implement a controller in main_vi based on the test data of sub_vi.
my program is consist of main_vi and several sub_vi, the main_vi is used for controlling and give the operation signal to hardware system (relay). and sub_vi is used for sampling data.
for example: the sub_vi collects data from the hardware and the control algorithm and output is implemented in the main_vi, so the question is how to transfer the test data from the sub_vi to main_vi synchronously.
I try to set the output connecter, but the data just return when sub_vi is closed.
anybody have good idea about it.
Thanks a lot
Hi hanwei,
I'm making the assumption that you are not using LabVIEW Real-Time. If you are, you should use RT FIFOs. Otherwise, follow MikeS81's advice.
I would go a step further and say that most likely it would be a better design to remove the loop (while loop?) from the subVI and instead place the subVI within a while loop in your top-level VI. This way on each execution of your subVI it will quickly return your data. Then you can also perform all the queue and dequeue operations in the two seperate while loops in your top-level VI. This organization will be easier to read, document, and understand.

A problem about implementing Background CO in 7.1.1
Hi,all.
I tried to implement backgrond CO in 7.1.1.
I implemented my background co in several ways.
No matter which way i did it, I always got an error message
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:com/sap/caf/eu/gp/co/api/IGPBackgroundCallableObject ".
I tried to following the tutorial and the note, but it`s still the same.
Can anyone give me a hand? Thanks.
BR.
Louis HuangHi, all.
My problem looks like that my background co can`t find com/sap/caf/eu/gp/co/api/IGPBackgroundCallableObject.
I have checked this class which exists in caf/eu/gp/api and I have added it to my ear project with every kind of dependency including build time, design time, deploy time, and runtime.
Did I miss anything?
I really have no idea what I can do now. -
Werid problem about 'implements' in mxml file.
Hi, all:
There are more than 50 modules in my project, We build it with flexmojos 4.0-alpha-5. Most of the time, I goes well, but built failed occasionally, error message as fllows:
Error: Cannot resolve attribute 'implements' for component type spark.components.Group.
All errors come from mxml file that implements some interface, for example:
<Group xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
implements="some.interfaces.name">

<sizeReportAttch>false
<AllowSourcePathOverlap>true
<staticLinkRuntimeShareLibraries>false
<quick>false
<optimize>true
Flex compiler version:4.5.1.21328
Anybody got some error like that? or give me some advice for it, thanks for advance. Thanks, Craberoid.
We tried 4.2, but error occoured as before.
More than 50 modules use 20g+ memory to build, that is flexmojos's another problem, so we changed maven to Ant... it work well. -
Problem about sales order stock stock transfer and batch determination
Hi, experts, I get a problem about sales order stock stock transfer and batch determination. The following is the current situation of my system:
In OMCG I assigned search procedure ME0001 to both 311 and 311 E and ticked check batch. After that, I found that if iI need to tranfer unrestricted-use material from storage location 1000 to 2000 with movement type 311, I just need to input * at the field batch, then the system will display all of the available batches. But for the transferring of sales order stock with movement type 311 E, after I input * at the batch field, no batch is displayed and there is also no message from the system.
Can anybody help me? Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks very much.I think my question is not clear, actually I tried 562 E , 411 E and 413 already. all the transaction looking for the sales order but unfortunatly the sales order is deleted from SAP.

Creating test data for a problem
Hi,
I've been using this forum for a few months and it has been extremely useful. The problem is that I actually have no idea how to create test data for a specific problem. I've tried googling but to no avail. I have had other users create test data for some of my problems using a 'WITH' statement but it would be great if someone could explain the logic behind it and how to approach a specific problem where in the query I use multiple tables.
I know it's probably a stupid question and I'm relatively new to sql but it would help a lot if I understood the process.

PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
"CORE 11.2.0.2.0 Production"
TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - ProductionLook at the point 3 and 4. You can also follow other points too.
Please consider the following when you post a question. This would help us help you better
1. New features keep coming in every oracle version so please provide Your Oracle DB Version to get the best possible answer.
You can use the following query and do a copy past of the output.
select * from v$version 2. This forum has a very good Search Feature. Please use that before posting your question. Because for most of the questions
that are asked the answer is already there.
3. We dont know your DB structure or How your Data is. So you need to let us know. The best way would be to give some sample data like this.
I have the following table called sales
with sales
as
select 1 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1001 inv_num, 120 qty from dual
union all
select 2 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1002 inv_num, 25 qty from dual
select *
from sales 4. Rather than telling what you want in words its more easier when you give your expected output.
For example in the above sales table, I want to know the total quantity and number of invoice for each product.
The output should look like this
Prod_id sum_qty count_inv
1 145 2 5. When ever you get an error message post the entire error message. With the Error Number, The message and the Line number.
6. Next thing is a very important thing to remember. Please post only well formatted code. Unformatted code is very hard to read.
Your code format gets lost when you post it in the Oracle Forum. So in order to preserve it you need to
use the {noformat}{noformat} tags.
The usage of the tag is like this.
<place your code here>\
7. If you are posting a *Performance Related Question*. Please read
{thread:id=501834} and {thread:id=863295}.
Following those guide will be very helpful.
8. Please keep in mind that this is a public forum. Here No question is URGENT.
So use of words like *URGENT* or *ASAP* (As Soon As Possible) are considered to be rude. -
Problem modifying FPGA code in an Application Builder-based system
I've inherited a working test system which uses LabVIEW FPGA, LabVIEW, Application Builder, and third party tools. The FPGA module (a FlexRIO) is responsible for generating test signals to a DUT and acquiring DUT output data. The host LabVIEW code controls the FlexRIO and acquires the test data. Application Builder is used to convert the host LabVIEW code to a Windows DLL so that it can be in turn controlled by higher level data analysis software running on Windows.
All of this currently works, and we're using it on a daily basis to test production devices.
We need to modify the FPGA operation to change the way the tests operate. We've modified the the FPGA VI to operate as we need it to and rebuilt the FPGA code (resulting in a new bit file), but subsequent runs of the test stack do not show the change to the operation of the FPGA code (the signals it is generating look exactly the same as in the original, unmodified, VI). We've tried renaming, deleting, and moving the bit file, but operation of the system is always exactly the same, even when the bit file is named differently or not located in the expected directory. We can't seem to affect the behavior we get out of the FPGA. It seems like we're not rebuilding something correctly, or that the system somehow has a copy of the old bit file stored away some place that it's using instead of the desired bit file.
We've verified that the newly created bit file is different than the original bit file, so it appears that the FPGA build process is succeeeding. I see no errors from LabVIEW when I build the FPGA code.
Does a DLL-ized version of LabVIEW host code operate the same as the same VI run from within the LabVIEW environment? When the DLL loads the FlexRIO, does it do so from the same referenced file path (I have the "Open FPGA VI Reference" properties set to use the bitfile, and the "Run the FPGA VI" checkbox is checked). We've power-cycled the host PXIe chassis between software runs to make sure the configuration memory in the FlexRIO is cleared.
It seems highly suspicious that we see the FPGA come up and run even when the bit file has been renamed or moved from the directory indicated in the "Open FPGA VI Reference". I would think that the DLL would attempt to open that file, fail to find it, and trip some sort of error dialog. But this doesn't occur, the FPGA gets loaded normally, and the test system operates as if nothing had been touched.
Previous developers were able to make this build process work, but it seems we're missing some critical step needed to actually update the code that ends up running on the FPGA.
The system is LabVIEW 2012.The FPGA build definition has the bitfile filename hardwired into it, so the name is constant across rebuilds of the FPGA code. So we always have the same bitfile name (and consequently if we're not careful about saving the old files, then the old bitfile will be overwritten by a new build).
I could try your suggestion about the alternate calling method, but I'm hesitant about changing a build process that was known to work. It seems to me that I'm somehow not building the software correctly, as if I don't understand something about the DLL build process that's keeping the new FPGA code from being used.
To reiterate, our build process is:
1) Modify the LabVIEW FPGA VI
2) "Run" the FPGA VI to compile it (by the way, last night we tried a "Rebuild" on the FPGA code from the right click menu off the VI in the LabVIEW project and that also has failed to change the results)
3) Build the host DLL code by right clicking the DLL build definition in the LabVIEW project and selecting Build
4) Copy the resulting host DLL over to the directory location where the higher level Windows software expects to find it
5) Run the higher level Windows software (at which point we view waveforms generated by the FlexRIO to see if the FPGA's behavior has changed).
We've verified that the LabVIEW DLL won't rebuild if we rename the bitfile (LabVIEW gives an error saying it can't find the bitfile). We've also verified that the higher level Windows software won't run if the LabVIEW DLL is renamed in its directory (so we know that that exact copy is being opened by the Windows software). Yet we can't seem to modify the FlexRIO's behavior through this process. -
Pls Help!! A implementation Problem about GUI
Dear All
I had a question about Implementation of belowing senario
First I have a Frame called Frame1
Frame1 had 2 buttons(back, cancel) and some TextFields
I input something into Frame1's fields
then if i click next, it will go to Frame2
how to implement this? i mean once i clcik next
Frame1 should be disappear and Frame2 should
be generated.
In Frame2 has some Textfields and 3 buttons
(back, cancel, next)
if i click back, it should back to frame1, itself(frame2)
should disappear, and when back frame1,
should also show frame1's previous inputs(before u enter
frame2, you input some setting in textfields)
Thx in advancetake a look at focus, hide, visible properties and related methodes.

The Problem about Monitoring Motion using PCI-7358 on LabVIEW Real Time Module
Hello everyone,
I have a problem about monitoring the position of an axis. First let me give some details about the motion controller system I’m using.
I’m using PCI-7358 as controller and MID-7654 as servo driver, and I’m controlling a Maxon DC Brushed motor. I want to check the dynamic performance of the actuator system in a real time environment so I created a LabVIEW function and implemented it on LabVIEW Real Time module.
My function loads a target position (Load Target Position.vi) and starts the motion. (Start.vi) then in a timed loop I read the instantaneous position using Read Position.vi. When I graphed the data taken from the Read Position.vi, I saw that same values are taken for 5 sequential loops. I checked the total time required by Read Position.vi to complete its task and it’s 0.1ms. I arranged the loop that acquires the data as to complete its one run in 1ms. But the data shows that 5 sequential loops read the same data?Read Position.flx can execute much faster than 5 ms but as it reads a register that is updated every 5 ms on the board, it reads the same value multiple times.
To get around this problem there are two methods:
Buffered High-Speed-Capturing (HSC)
With buffered HSC the board stores a position value in it's onboard buffer each time a trigger occurrs on the axis' trigger input. HSC allows a trigger rate of about 2 kHz. That means, you can store a position value every 500 µs. Please refer to the HSC examples. You may have to look into the buffered breakpoint examples to learn how to use a buffer, as there doesn't seem to be a buffered HSC example available. Please note that you need an external trigger-signal (e. g. from a counter of a DAQ board). Please note that the amount of position data that you can acquire in a single shot is limited to about 16.000 values.
Buffered position measurement with additional plugin-board
If you don't have a device that allows you to generate a repetitive trigger signal as required in method 1.), you will have to use an additional board, e. g. a PCI-6601. This board provides four counter/timers. You could either use this board to generate the trigger signal or you could use it to do the position capturing itself. A PCI-6601 (or an M-Series board) provides can run a buffered position acquisition with a rate of several hundred kHz and with virtually no limitation to the amount of data to be stored. You could even route the encoder signals from your 7350 to the PCI-6601 by using an internal RTSI cable (no external wiring required).
I hope this helps,

Design problem about repreatable entity relationships
Hi all!
As I design the data model (let's name it the ERD, no matter the name is quite unfashonable), I have found almost identical structures of entities and relationships between them, but playing completely different roles in the semantics of the model.
It obviously makes no sense to implement all such entities separately as the Entity EJB as they are to share most of the fields and methods, but I found no "handsome" solution when trying to implement them as sets of classes and interfaces forming "the abstract EJBs", and then by putting the conrete classes and complementary interfaces at the final packages to create "concrete EJBs". The problem was about types returned by the createXXX and findXXX methods, because they had to return the "abstract" EJBs but the EJB programming contract forces them to return the "concrete" ones, that are unknown to me when defining the "abstract ones". So it cancels the sense for creating them this way. It was also unclear how to operate the relationships in such model.
The idea was:
1. I define BaseSthLocalHome extends EJBLocalHome
2. I define BaseSthLocal extends EJBLocalObject
3. I define BaseSthBean implements EntityBean
... this way I have the "abstract bean", and then I can create many:
SthOneLocalHome extends BaseSthLocalHome,
SthOneLocal extends BaseSthLocal,
SthOneBean extends BaseSthBean ... to have the first "concrete" EJB,
SthTwoLocalHome extends BaseSthLocalHome... and so on to create the second, third and all the next "concrete" EJBs.
Anyway, it did not work fine as I defined createXXX and findXXX methods at the BaseSthLocalHome interface - it made sense, because those methods did not depend on the other entities.
Has anyone some idea of how to solve the design problem? Currently we are at very beginning of the project, so we have some "case study" time, and I would appreciate any solution: redesign of the data model, extraction of new EJB modules or any use of the objective inheritance.
Thanks in advance!
Marcin GawlikAgain me - I now it is a bad idea to reply for own messages, but I have just checked a new idea:
The problem was about re-using the same components in different roles. I tried to do that by creating subclasses of the EJB classes, but it did not work. So I tried to define multiple entity EJBs that have the same class.
Considering the given example, it would look:
1. public interface BaseSthLocalHome extends EJBLocalHome
2. public interface BaseSthLocal extends EJBLocalObject
3. public abstract class BaseSthBean implements EntityBean
... then I created the deployment descriptor that deploys this pack of class and interfaces as three separate CMP Entity Beans:
1. deploy BaseSthBean as the SthOne CMP entity EJB
2. deploy BaseSthBean as the SthTwo CMP entity EJB
3. ... and so one
The question is: IS THERE ANY CONTRA FOR THIS WAY OF DEPLOYING EJBS? Is there any reason for not to use the same class and its complementary interfaces many times to create many separate enity EJBs working within the same EJB module?
Thanks in advance!

A problem about the policy of RMS which is added more than 500 principals
Hello specialists ,
I've a question about RMS , when I added more than about 500 principals (users & groups ) into a policy in the RMS , it will report an error for any operation about the policy , and I find the error message as followed (for theconvenience, I paste all of the logs in the weblogic).
We have tested all of our environments : Weblogic , JBoss , Websphere , each of them makes the same mistake . those operations include : try to open the documents protected by this kind of policies , to disable or enable the policies, to look the detail from the "adminui" . when decreasing the principals for this kind of policy to almost 450 (I am not sure the clearly number) with java code , the results will be ok .
So anyone can help me ? It's really very important for us , becuase our customer refused to pay the left money of this project till this problem is resolved . and I have reported this problem to the Enterprise Support in Indian (the case is :181916446), but , obviously , it seems they are burning my patience . At the same time , I think it's a problem of the product , I think the SQL is really very bad ,at least , not so good .
Any help will be very appreciated !

Question for Database EXPERTS about implementing an Embedded Database
One of my current projects is to implement a Embedded pure java database with a smaill subset of SQL. Since I estimate it will take me at least 400 man hours (based on my intial unfinished attempt) to build something robust and usable, I thought I'd ask my fellow java folks for suggestions. The SQL and parsing is no problem, but the best way to implement the records structure is. My first approach would be to represent each table in a seperate file (file defined as a standard OS file). Each record would have a fixed byte length, say 256.
A seperate definition file would containt the column names, type, and maximum byte length for the column. So the data file would be a repetitive list of 256 byte rows, some arbitrary byte value could be used as a 'filler' for the part of a row not being used. When a row is deleted, the entire row is merely overwritten with the filler. The next inserted record would then take its place.
String types, numeric types, and small strings would be written directly to the data file at their appropriate byte offset from the start of its respective byte row position.
Complex or large data types like multimedia and memos would merely have a filename string pointing to another file. Things like security and encryption (hopefully) could be added on later. My main concerns are about how to implement an efficient indexing algorithm, and how to minimize the space required for each table, while maintaining simplicity.
Furthermore I currently plan to use the most basic and common classes to implement this (Java I/O API, and of course some of the SQL API to implement JDBC). Any advice on other APIs that may benefit this? Any red flags come up yet?One of my current projects is to implement a Embedded

fellow java folks for suggestions. The SQL and parsing
is no problem, but the best way to implement the
records structure is.I once (1981) did it this way: a database file consists of consecutive pages, all of equal size; say, 4KB per page. Every page consists of consecutive cells; every cell can store a short, so 2K cells can be stored in a page.
Cells in a page serve two purposes. From the bottom to the top, the cells represent offsets in the page where the records are stored and from the top to the bottom the cells are used for the actual data. The first cell of the page contains the offset to the first free cell in the page; the second cell contains the offset to the first occupied (data) cell in the page. Any record offset cell containing zero (0) is a free record offset cell.
This scenario implies that the maximum record length is 4KB - 4*3 bytes.
A record takes up one offset cell, as many cells that are needed for the acual data, preceeded by a cell containing the length of the record. The offset cell contains the cell number where the record starts (the length cell).
Records are addressed by their page number and by their cell offset number [PR]. The R number points to the cell containing the actual offset of the record. The [PR] number doesn't change during the lifetime of the record. (this is important).
Inserting a record is easy: find a page with enough room and store the record in that page. If no page is available, add another page to the database file. Deleting a record is simple too: delete the record, zero out the offset cell and compact the data part of the page. Updating a record is a bit more complicated. If the record size shrinks, stuff is easy. If the record size grows, and it doesn't fit in that page anymore, another page has to be found. The old data is removed and a small 'indirection record' is inserted instead. This new record contains the actual [PR] number where the new (larger) record is stored. The original R cell has a few more bits available. 2K different numbers take up 11 bits. The cell itself can store 16 bits, so one bit can be used, indicating that it's not pointing to an actual data record, but its offset is pointing to an 'indirection' record instead. Some careful fiddling takes care that subsequente updates of a record keep this indirection stuff limited to just one indirection (this is true, believe me).
Pages are loaded in core, and swapped out whenever necessary. Every loaded page has a page number and a 'dirty bit' attached to it. Whenever this bit is set, the page has to be written back to disk if it needs to be flushed from memory (due to memory exhaustion etc.) otherwise, the memory can simply be released. A simple LRU (Least Recently Used) list does wonders here.
B-tree records can be stored as ordinary records too; this implies that the indexes of the tables (a bunch of records) are ordinary records too. Note that these spare 5 bits (one taken indicating an 'indirect' record) can do wonders here. As a matter of fact, a bit indicating that its cell is pointing to a B-tree node came in very handy. And still three bits free for other miracles! ;-)
I better quit before I turn another message into a novel again.
kind regards,

How to implement a StateSpace-Controller in Labview
I have to implement a StateSpace-Controller in Labview. What is the
best way of doing it?
I have tried two versions -- a continous SS-Controller and a discrete
Version. The Problem is, they show different results, and I can't find
the mistake.
If you have a solution at hand, I would appreciate if you could send
me the file!
Thank you very much!I started a post to your other thread:

Question about LakeShore 325 Temp.Controller
Hi guys,
I'm using the LakeShore 325 Temperature Controller for some measures. And i got stucked with this problem: i need to divide the ramp by segments. Which means that the ramp will not start from 0 all time. My idea is to make 1 ramp divided at a maximum of 4 segments. For ex: 1st segment from 100K to 200K, 2nd ramp from 250K to 400K, etc..
The problem is that i can't find that option on the instrument driver. It only allows me to configure the ramp, which means, that i can insert it's rate and if i'm going to have a set point or not. And the other option that is on the instrument driver is the configuration of the setpoint, that only allows me to insert 1 setpoint. What should i do? I need 2 setpoints, 1 for the minimum temperature and 1 for max. temperature.
I can't use the PID control, and i'm attaching the drivers here with 1 sketch of my main VI.
Thanks in advance.

Currently using LV 8.5

First of all, I invite you to create a new thread for each new question, and to lik related topics into this new thread.
Now, about the instrument driver, the readme file clearly indicates that it is designed for LabVIEW 8.0 or later. To get version of those VIs for LabVIEW 6.1, I think you have two options:
1. Downgrade the existing version of the instruments driver using "Save for previous version" option. You will need a version of LabVIEW 8.x to downgrade to LabVIEW 8.0, then LabVIEW 8.0 to downgrade it in LabVIEW 7.1, and so on. this option exposes you to code compatibility issues, if some of the functionnality used by the LV 8.0 driver are not avilable under previous versions of LabVIEW.
2. Ask LakeShore for an instrument driver that supports LabVIEW 6.1.
Hope this helps,

Problem about roaming when using IP Phone 792X
Hi Guys,
My Customer is wiht the following problem: When the user is using the IP Phone 792X near the Access Point the call worked Ok. When the User to do the roaming to another Access Point He hear audio only one side. If He turn off the IP Phone and turn on the call came back work. I don´t sure, but, I don´t believe that the problem is the IP Phone Configuration. My question is: Can be any problem about Wireless Controller configuration?
Information about the equipament:
IP Phone 792X Firmware -
CP7921G-1.3.3.LOADS
CP7925G-1.4.1.LOADS
Access Point
Model: 1140
Wireless Lan Controller
Model: WS-SVC-WISM-1-K9
Product Version.................................. 6.0.188.0
Thank You,
WilsonHi Wilson,
The first thing I would check is that you have proper cell overlap.
See page 3-13 in the deployment guide:
http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/netsol/ns279/c649/ccmigration_09186a00808d9330.pdf
Without seeing more info, we can't conclude that this is a controller code issue, but I'd upgrade the controller to 6.0.202 to be sure.
6.0.188 is deferred:
http://www.cisco.com/web/software/Wireless/Deferral/Software_Advisory_6_0_196_0.html
You may also want to run your controller's config through the config analyzer and enable 792x voice checks:

WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Failed to load class:
when i am running plsqlAssembler.jar file for wsa.jar with all other atributes , i am getting this warning WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Failed to load class.
Please if anybody knows about this reply me,
thanks in advance. If you are using Ex in the implemetation class, make sure that you also include the same in the interface (or SEI).
If the implementation looks something like:
public void doSomething() throws Ex {
System.out.println("Is there something to do, now ?");
then the SEI should be:
public void doSomething() throws Ex, RemoteException;
If your have ommited Ex, then you will have the warning you are seing, and there wont be any artifact generated for Ex in the WSDL.
Because the Ex exception was not mapped to any WSDL artifact, there is no way you will see the Ex exception generated on the client side (or proxy).
I have been able to reproduce your error message, so you should be all good.
WARNING: Problem validating implementation class. Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: bugyyy.MyServiceImpl and Interface: bugyyy.MyWebService. Impl class Method: doSomething declares exceptions not declared by the interface (bugyyy.Ex)
Hope this helps,
Eric
