Problem accessing a newly created service

Hello
i've create a new service to gather statistic for several componants. This service has been deployed, and
seems to be started (as shown by the system admin/ support / Portal runtime / Application console).
the deployment file is the following :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<application>
  <application-config/>
  <components/>
  <services>
    <service name="StatisticService" alias ="Statistics">
      <service-config>
        <property
             name="className"
             value="com.xxx.service.StatisticService"/>
        <property name="startup" value="true"/>
      </service-config>
    </service>
  </services>
</application>
However, i'm not able to access  the service from another componant (DynPage). The deployement file for
this componant possess a refernce to the service, but this does not work. Running the dynpage, I get a message
with a log Id (which state that the application can not be found).
  <application-config>
    <property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.htmlb, Titan"/>
    <property name="ServicesReference" value="com.sap.portal.ivs.iviewservice, com.xxx.service.StatisticService"/>
    <property name="releasable" value="true"/>
    <property name="testable" value="true"/>
    <property name="SharedAccess" value="shared"/>
  </application-config>
The same result occurs if i use the projet.servicename or servicealias as reference
if i does not reference the service in the file, i can run the dynpage, but there is an exception when i try to get the service.
IStatisticService cgService =
(IStatisticService)PortalRuntime
   .getRuntimeResources()
   .getService(
      IStatisticService.KEY);
does anyone have an idea on how i can access the service ?
regards
Guillaume

Hello,
try with following code:-
//for service
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<application>
  <application-config/>
  <components/>
  <services>
    <service name="PercentCalc" alias="PercentCalc">
      <service-config>
        <property name="className" value="com.sap.training.PercentCalc"/>
        <property name="startup" value="true"/>
      </service-config>
      <service-profile>
        <property name="filename" value="test"/>
      </service-profile>
    </service>
  </services>
</application>
//for testing service
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<application>
  <application-config>
    <property name="SharingReference" value="06-CustomPortalService"/>
    <property name="SecurityArea" value="portal"/>
    <property name="Vendor" value="com.customer"/>
  </application-config>
  <components>
    <component name="TestService">
      <component-config>
        <property name="ClassName" value="com.sap.training.TestService"/>
        <property name="SafetyLevel" value="low_safety"/>
      </component-config>
      <component-profile/>
    </component>
  </components>
  <services/>
</application>
This was tested and it runs without any errors.

  • Accessing the newly created document number

    Hi,
    I was able to create an invoice successfully.
    I am using the ICOMPANY object to capture the newly created document number as comp.getnewobjectkey().
    But the number i get is different from what is created in the system.
    For example. i receive the number as 28590 from method comp.getnewobjectkey() but the actual invoice number in the system is 28587.
    Any ideas on why this is happening?
    Thanks
    Ramakanth

    Hi Ramakanth,
    GetNewObjectKey will return you the DocEntry value not the Docnumber.
    If you need the docnumber, run a query. "SELECT DocNum FROM OINV WHERE DocEntry = 28590

  • Problem using BAPI to create Service Confirmation in CRM

    Good afternoon all.
    I have raised this is CRM forum too, just thought it best to ask the broader ABAP community the question too.
    We are encountering a problem using a BAPI to create a transaction in CRM, specifically:
    I am trying to create a Service Confirmation (BUS2000117) in a CRM system using the BAPI BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI.
    The BAPI succeeds in creating the header of the transaction, but I cannot make the BAPI create any other data in the transaction such as partners or items.
    Just want to be sure that I am not being foolish...has anyone succeeded in using this BAPI to create an error-free Service Confirmation?
    Regards
    Nick

    I am going to pop this thread into General ABAP forum too.

  • Newly created Service Interface does not exist in SOAMANAGER

    Hi all,
    Here is an interesting dilemma we are having we just put up a PI sandbox and are validating scenarios.  We have installed 7.11
    We created a new sender agreement and published to the Services Registry.  We are able to send the message into the system; but we do not see payload at all in SXMB_MONI which is our first issue and we are wondering if that has something to do with the security set on the web service by default.  This is a SOAP call into PI from a .NET application.
    When we go into SOAMANAGER to set the security on the service it is not displayed.  Is there some additional step we need to do to get the service to show up in SOAMANAGER?  Or something we need to do with our new namespace to get SOAMANAGER to search?
    We are looking in SOAMANAGER -> Application and Scenario Communication -> Single Service Administration which is where we would expect the the service to exist; but, it does not.
    Thanks, Greg

    Hi Greg,
    If there is a problem with the search not returning the desired result,could you please refer the
    SAP Note Number: 1412081 which talks about   correction for not getting expected results when Searching
    with 'BOTH' in SOAMANAGER for Service Groups.
    Yes you are right it does not have to be a proxy all the time,Please refer the blog which explains about service definition

  • Problem referencing a newly created class instance - I don't understand why

    Hi,
    I am completely new to actionscript although I do come from a OOP background. I have been asked to trial Flash and Actionscript 3 in particular - so I do come with a few preconceptions on how I expect actionscript to behave.
    I have a problem I donot understand. I have created a new class and to test it I use a simple test harness in the form of a .fla file.
    The issue I have is when I create a new instance of the class and assign it to a variable, subsequent background changes to that instance of the class are not 'picked-up' when referenced through the variable. I would expect that given instance of class could be assigned to many different variables and any updates using one variable would  accessible using any of the other variables.
    My test class, XMLDataLoader, is coded as follows:
    package  {
        public class XMLDataLoader {
            import flash.events.*;
            import flash.net.*;
            import flash.utils.*
            private var _xmlData:XML;
            private var _xmlLoaded:Boolean;
            public function XMLDataLoader(pFileName:String){
                init(pFileName);
            public function getXMLData():XML {
                return this._xmlData;
            public function XMLLoaded():Boolean {
                return this._xmlLoaded;
            private function init(pFileName:String):void
                // Create the URLLoader instance to be able to load data
                  var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader( );
                var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(pFileName);
                this._xmlLoaded = false;
                // Define the event handlers to listen for success and failure
                   loader.addEventListener ( Event.COMPLETE, handleComplete );
                loader.load(urlRequest);
                function handleComplete ( e:Event ):void
                    trace ( "The data has successfully loaded" );
                    this.xmlData = new XML(e.currentTarget.data);
                    this._xmlLoaded = true;
    The class simply reads a text file and assigns its contents to the class variable _xmlData. The class variable _xmlLoaded identifies when the load is complete.
    The test harness is a simple flash app consisting if a single timeline with 1 frame, 1 symbol on the stage and the following actionscript code:
    import flash.events.TimerEvent;
    var t:XMLDataLoader = new XMLDataLoader("Test Article.xml");
    var xmlData:XML;
    var waits:uint = 0;
    wait(1);
    function wait(ct:uint):void
        var TimerInstance:Timer = new Timer(500, 1);
        TimerInstance.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, TimerHandler);
        TimerInstance.start();
        function TimerHandler(event:TimerEvent):void
           if(t.XMLLoaded()){
                xmlData = t.getXMLData();
                trace(xmlData.toXMLString);
            } else {
                trace(ct + " - Waiting....");
                if (ct <= 10) {
                    wait(++ct);
    The script defines a variable and assigns it a new instance of the XMLDataLoader. Originally, I immediately followed this with a trace statement but  insuffient time had elapsed to allow the load to complete, so I had to introduce a wait function to force a delay. This wait function is recursive. It checks to see if the load is complete. If it is, a trace statement will outoput the xml. If not the function will call itself again (upto 10 times)
    The resultant output is as follows:
    The data has successfully loaded
    1 - Waiting....
    2 - Waiting....
    3 - Waiting....
    4 - Waiting....
    5 - Waiting....
    6 - Waiting....
    7 - Waiting....
    8 - Waiting....
    9 - Waiting....
    10 - Waiting....
    According to this output, the XML has been loaded before the end of the first timer cycle but this is not detected in the test harness. I have stepped through the code in debug mode and I have confirmed that the XML was loaded, and the class variables where correctly set, including _xmlLoaded = true. However, in the test harness the instance both class variables  are null. I don't believe this should be the case but obviously I must be wrong - can anyone explain where my logic is flawed. I did think scoping might be the problem but having tried a couple of modifications, I concluded that it wasn't.
    Thanks in advance.

    never nest named functions.  unnest TimerHandler and retest.
    (and, you should be using listener to determine when loading is complete.)

  • Problem accessing JDev Generated Web Service on PL/SQL Package

    Hi,
    I'v generated a web service from a pl package using the wizard in JDev for use with Adobe Flex builder. Adobe says they support two types of web services, WSDL 1.1 RPC-Encoded and Document-literal. When I create the web service as Document literal, I am able to consume the web service without errors, however, adobe cannot parse the xml because of the namespace tags. I then created an RPC-encoded type of webservice but then when I run my Flex application, it gives following error:
    [WSDLError faultString="Type tns1:text_xml not resolvable" faultCode="WSDL.BadType" faultDetail="null"]

  • What will be data type for the newly created Service Interface def.?

    hi @,
    I am using new Service interface for the start event with objective that any outside application will be able to trigger the BPM. I have created the same SI and its operation and Input params. Now when the request comes there is an exclusive choice gateway which based upon the input fields decide which path to take into consideration. Now I need to map the SI input to the Data object but which data type I need to use ideally it should be the data type defined in the Service Interface should be used but I am not able to locate the same in the data type folder .
    How can I map the input service interface data type to the Data object so that it is available in the next BPM steps?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Typically the used types in a new service interface are anonymous. Try making the used complex type a global one (Right-Click onto it -> Refactor -> Make Anonymous Type Global).
    Afterwards you could use the speed button around your your 'start event' and create a new 'data object' from there. Now the IDE automatically assigns the type of the service interface to your 'data object' and  performs the standard mapping between the 'start event' and the 'data object' in addition.
    Please also have a look at the documentation for further information:

  • Approval Flow problem for the newly created user

    Dear friends.
    We have a new user .
    The approval flow is not starting for her shopping carts.
    I have checked YAM to see the cost centre but it is correct.
    What could be the problem and how do i check the workflow.
    I am not much into the technical side of SRM.

    Hi,
    You can use Tx BBP_PD with Shopping cart number, Alo you can view the workflow logs in swi1 or swi2_freq. Then you can check starting conditions

    It looks like you tried <cm:printProperty>, when the tag is actually
    <cm:printproperty>. Tag names and parameters are case-sensitive.

    I've restarted SOA Suite but it made no difference. Has anyone seen this before?
    (I'm running JDev 10.1.3.2 and SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 - I'm also using a default install of Oracle XE as the dehydration store - but this has been running fine for almost 2 weeks now).

    Hmmm have restarted SOA Suite - no go, so restarted the whole server it's running on - still no go. Have tried rebuilding the ESB project from scratch using JDev 10.1.3.3 - no go.
    On subsequent tries (registering the the ESB services from JDev) I'm getting a different error message now:-

  • How to Apply a Newly Created Access Policy on Existing Users in OIM????????

    How to Apply a Newly Created Access Policy on Existing Users in OIM?
    When the rule is getting failed the user is getting removed from the group but resource is not getting revoked. This is happening only for the old uses..for the users which i created now it working fine..i mean its resource is getting revoked.
    (Retrofit access policy" is checked on the Access Policyand Revoke if not longer applied is checked.)
    For the old users i see the POl_Key is null, for new users i see a value '10'. So i updated the pol_key for old users same as it got generated for new users '10'.
    i even updated the form version too but still revoke doesn't work.
    I cant go for the below approach..
    In order to apply a newly created Access Policy on existing users, one has to make sure that:
    1) "Retrofit access policy" is checked on the Access Policy.
    2) Then run the "Set User Provisioned Date" Schedule task to apply the Access Policy on the existing users in OIM.
    Note: After 9.1.0.1 BP03 the access policy execution has been moved to a new scheduled task "Evaluate User Policies" as mentioned inDocument 839368.1 :How to Use Access Policies to Provision with Groups.
    Is there any other approach i can try.. if you have any idea please reply me asap
    Thanks..

    Thanks for the reply kevin..
    We decided to try the Schedule task (Set User Provisioned Date).
    But i see one problem here after seeing this post in metalik --> Can Access Policies Manage The Life-cycle Of Users Created via Reconciliation? [ID 1136540.1]
    According to this post Access Policies framework does not manage users who are obtained either through trusted reconciliation or target reconciliation.
    Is there any custom way to achieve this??
    How does the access policy framework revoke resource work? (revoke if no longer applies)??

  • Mac to Mac file sharing - file permissions problem upon newly created files

    Hi all,
    At home I have two iMac's both running Snow Leopard.
    iMac A/Users/*1 is sharing his iMac A/Users/*1/Documents folder.
    The sharing & permissions - preferences of this folder and the files inside this folder are:
    '*1' : (the iMac A's main user account) : Read & Write
    'share' : (a Sharing Only account, set up from iMac A) : Read & Write
    everyone : : No Access
    iMac B/Users/*2 is able to read & write to this folder because he is connected with iMac A as 'share'.
    So far so good. iMac A/Users/*1 can read & write to his own Documents folder
    and so can iMac B/Users/*2 because he is connected to iMac A as 'share'.
    But: this only applies to the folders and files that are _already in_ the iMac A/Users/*1/Documents folder,
    because I once changed the sharing & permissions -permissions of iMac A/Users/*1/Documents as mentioned above and executed 'Apply to enclosed Items...'.
    So the problem is: when I create a new file or folder on iMac A/Users/*1 or on
    iMac B/Users/*2 and put it in iMac A/Users/*1/Documents, this new file or folder will only
    have the standard sharing & permissions - preferences of any newly created file or folder
    on the iMac X/Users/*Y it was created. The problem is those sharing & permissions - preferences
    will not let the other iMac X"/Users/*Y" Read & Write to this new file or folder but only let himself
    Read & Write. Following, the other iMac X"/Users/*Y" will only be able to Read the newly created
    file or folder, because the standard standard sharing & permissions - preferences on
    iMac A/Users/*1 as well as on iMac B/Users/*2 are the following:
    '*Y' : (the iMac X's main user account) : Read & Write
    staff : (Administrator accounts on iMac X) : Read only
    everyone : : Read only
    A pretty manual fix to this problem is walking to iMacX" and changing the
    sharing & permissions - preferences of the newly created file or folder so that iMacX"
    will also be able to Read & Write this newly created file or folder.
    Does anyone know a better fix for my problem? Basicly I want to have Read & Write
    sharing & permissions on the newly created file or folder for both iMac's,
    not only the for the file or folder creator's iMac. And this without having to change
    sharing & permissions - preferences of this newly created file or folder manually
    each time.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vincent Verheyen.

    Hi all,
    I have found a thread wich i think also handles about my problem.
    The standard sharing & permissions - preferences or privileges
    can be changed apparently, this seems to have got something to do
    with umask and changing this umask. The adress is the following:
    *http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20031211073631814*
    Other ways to change the above-mentioned umask may be
    applications like SharePoints, TinkerTool or BatChMod.
    All of them are also mentioned in the above-mentioned thread.
    I haven't executed the solution as mentioned in the above-mentioned
    thread yet, replies to the thread speak about insecurity and failures.
    Further more I haven't found any other solutions to my problem,
    so any help is still greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vincent Verheyen.

  • Newly-created Files & Folders Permission Problem

    Hello. I have a Snow Leopard Server 10.6.8 with Snow Leopard and Lion clients.
    When all Macs were running Snow Leopard, any client could create new folders and files on the Snow Leopard Server, and all other Mac clients can access and modify them (Read and Write permission).
    I updated a few clients to Lion, and now when a Lion client created a new file or folder on the Snow Leopard Server, only that client has Read & Write permission. All other client now cannot modify the newly-created file/folder.
    My temporary fix is to change the folder or file permission on the server so everyone can have access.
    Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this the Lion client problem or the Snow Leopard Server problem?
    Thanks.
