Problem deleting new uncommited rows

I am unable to create a new object, assign a sequence number and then delete that object (before ever committing to the DB).
I am using ADF toplink binding methods to create and delete the object (createInsert & delete). Once created, I associate to the parent object and assign a sequence number.
- unitOfWork.assignSequenceNumber(theNewObject)
- theNewObject.setParentObject(parentObj)
From here, I'd like to delete theNewObject - effectively, never perform the insert.
To you TopLink experts - how should I delete theNewObject or avoid having the unit of work create the insert statements?
I tried clearing the collection - parentObj.getChildObjectCollection().clear() - and expected that to deregister the object and never create an insert statement but that didn't work.

Af:dialog cancel problem on new VO row

Using 11.1.1.4.
I have an af:popup that contains an af:dialog which itself contains enterable components mapped to VO attributes, the first being an af:selectOneChoice (body-part list). The body-part list draws from an LOV setup on the underlying VO attribute. The LOV RowSet is initialized in the model tier for the row each time the popup is invoked to ensure it contains all the values allowed.
Everything works fine except when:
a) user adds a new row to the underlying VO and invokes the popup to initialize the new row values, and
b) user selects a value out of the body-part list, and
c) user elects to Cancel the dialog
The PopupCanceledEvent fires a Delete Operation on the underlying VO in the above case, to remove the new row just added.
All this works fine, but if the dialog is now invoked either for another new row, or for an existing row, the body-part list shows the value that was selected at b) above and not the value as it is in the Model row (this has been verified). If I add and delete the row using the Delete Operation off an icon above the VO table (outside the dialog), then no issues. The problem doesn't correct itself unless / until user goes in to the dialog again and completes the add row process by hitting the dialog OK button. User can then delete this new row using the icon, and then edit and add operations all work fine again.
Everything in the model looks fine, the problem just seems to be that the UI components in the dialog aren't initializing properly from the values I know to be in the model WHEN AND ONLY WHEN the dialog has been canceled on the add of a new row (cancel of an edit doesn't cause the problem). I've tried various PPR requests to try and sync the components up with the bound values, but no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on here ?

I put a ResetUtils.reset(body-part-list component) in the bean member handling the PopupCanceledEvent and it all works fine now. Don't really understand what's going on here, and why the manual reset is required for this item, but it's working ...

my requirement is... At runtime
          1. i may create new row on the grid (empty row inwhich i may enter the data).
          2. i may delete a existing row in the grid
          3. i may edit the existing data...
then i have to trace the modification in the grid in one internal table...
how can i get into this.....

Problems deleting current row

Hello,
I have got the following problem. I have got a table with data from my database. And a dataprovider to fetch the data from my rowset. I have got a button in each row of this table where i can get details or delete the corresponding row.
But when i click delete he wont delete the row correct. After a while i realised that the always fetch the same row. I dont understand why because i took the same code as it was used in the tutorial. For control i made a variable to remember the id of the fetched row but it wont change after the first "delete". Can somebody tell me why he wont change the value?

Problems deleting last row of table

I have tried a number of examples to make a button delete the LAST row of a table, but I cannot make it.
This is the script I am currently using, but it only delets the second row. I'm desperate, I don't know where's the mistake. Please help!

In fact what you want is somehow strange. But this may be used.
For the first row:
SELECT * FROM <table_name> UP TO 1 ROWS
INTO gs_record

For the last row:
As far as I know, You should select all the records till the last row and then get the last row.
But, I think without ordering it will be somehow weird. We do not deal how the database layer handles order of the table. It has different policies regarding indexes etc... If you have an ordering condition, I think it will often be more convenient using an internal table to handle data. That is, retrieve your data with SELECT statement into an internal table, sort it and read it.

Problems with Click a row in the Table

Dear All,
I am new to Java GUI. I got some problems with clicking the row in a table.
My table allows the user to delete some rows fromt the table. When the user click a row or some rows in my table, the delete button should be enabled. It does work in most of the time. But sometimes, even the row being hight lighted, the button is still not enabled.
Do you have any idea for what can cause this problem?
What I did is :
1. add a mouse listener to the table
_userTable.addMouseListener(new java.awt.event.MouseAdapter()
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e)
userList_mouseClicked(e);
2. then, if the row being selected is > 0, I will enable my delete button.
Can anybody help?

I am getting problems with single selection in a table. Although I have set the selection model to single, if I select a row int the table and then depress Ctrl/Shift multiple rows are selected.
The code for set single selection is :
ListSelectionModel seleModel = myTable.getSelectionModel();
seleModel.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_SELECTION);
Any idea about this? Is this a bug in JAVA?

Error while creating a new entity row in Create Page

Can we delete a single row in SID table?

I am having a problem with conversion exit in SID table.
These are the error messages.
Value in SID table is TPV; correct value is TPV; SID in SID table is 875
Message no. RSRV200
Diagnosis
The following data record either has an incorrect internal format or the characteristic value that is in the correct format appears as a corrected value of another incorrect value:
·     Characteristic value: TPV
·     SID: 875
·     Correct characteristic value: (see below) TPV
·     SID after correction: 875

Otherwise........u can delete value from a SID table......u can use tcode SE14...........to delete the entries.........
Check this......
deleting contents of SID table.
But still I will suggest u not to delete SID...........it may lead to inconsistency of data.........
Try to repair SId using the program : RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL or RSRV...........

How can I delete the last row of a Matrix

Hi All,
Does anyone know whether deleting the last row of a matrix controlled by a UDO child table gives problems? I have the strange effect that I cannot delete the very last existing row in the matrix, i.e. after updating the delete the last to-be deleted row comes back into my matrix !!

Yes, there is a problem to delete the last row.
It is fixed in version 2005.

4. I think problem maybe is related with row key, but I need end user to change rowkey column value. does it allow changing the value of column as row key? I found this problem maybe only occur for new created row. For those existing rows, even I change the value of row key column, no such problem occurred, how do I handle this situation?

I didn't create master records, I just used joint queries for information display of both master and detail. I am trying to create a row in the UI table to create a new detail record and master record already exists.
The row key for new added row in UI rich table is [21 null ], row key of detail records table composes of 2 columns. 21 is for FixedSlotId and null is for SlotFromN. when I provide a new value for SlotFromN column in UI rich table, problem will occur.

List of Problems with NEW Web Mail :
- At first doesn't open full page message list or retain full page as default setting, have to drag down bar
- Only shows 20 message lines after “pulling down” the divider, screen partially empty until I scroll down. It should show at least 26, preferably all available
- After moving bar, bar moves back up after going back to inbox (not delete message) after reading a message, have to move it down again, and again...
- Doesn't go to next message when delete message on screen is selected, no setting option for default to do this.
- There is a drop down to select which folder to move a selected email to. The initial display shows 7 usable choices, with the usual slider and arrow to show more choices. The space on the slider clearly shows more choices are present (actually about 20 or so are there), but any attempt to use the slider or arrow to see more choices causes the drop-down to instantly disappear. I can't move the selected field with arrow keys either. I can select any of the visible 7 choices, and move an email to only one of the 7. NOTE: This one works in both IE and Firefox, but if Verizon Webmail was fully web standard (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_standards) compliant it would also work in my preferred browser, Mozilla Seamonkey, the direct descendant of the original Mozilla browser. Webmail should be FULLY web standard.
- Occasionally a message will move from inbox to trash, without NO indication or command to move them.
- Emails occasionally flash an error message and simply disappear - not to trash or other findable place, just disappear. No time to read the error message either.
- No way to set a whitelist for supposed spam emails, unless the whitelist for “Blocking” is the same. Very unclear.
- How can I switch my service back to the original, basic, email which works ok? I know it’s still there, since some of my other accounts still access it!!!
This seems my only way of getting this info direclty to the programming staff. If it doesn't actually do this, will SOMEONE PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO THEM !?!

We have arequirement where on screen of view there is a "ADD" button,"DELETE" button and a ":COPY" button. once the user click on "ADD" button , a new row must add in the existing table,once the user select a row from table and click on "DELETE" button , that row must delete .once the user click "COPY" button a new row must added with the data of the selected row.
Can you plz help me how to do this.
