Problem executing J2ME project (Netbeans 5.0)

After being away from Netbeans for a couple of months I returned back only to find that it now is impossible to execute J2ME projects :-(
I get error message "Execution failed with error code 1" shen the IDE tries to start the emulator.
I tried to remove and reinstall Netbeans 5.0 and NetbEans Mobility Pack to no avail.
This is true on two of my computers. But on a third host with newly installed Windows XP and Netbeans etc it works flawlessly.
Can someone out there give me a hint?

Problem solved. I got a hint from http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/fix-toolkit-installation.html which directed me towards emulator.bat. Search found it in .ntebeans directory under my user in Documents and Settings. By removing the whole .netbeans directory, I got a clean fresh IDE where everything works as it should.

I�m using a system Servlet+applet that communicate by RMI with Netbeans.
The remote object, the stub and the binding are correctly created at the servlet. At the applet the reference to the remote object is ok too.
The problem appears when I invoke a method in the remote object from the applet.
The message the Java console throws:
RemoteException en soloEscribe()
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 192.168.1.100:1079 connect,resolve)
soloEscribe() is the method in the remote object.
I�m running everything locally, and I have granted allPermissions at the java.policy.

and one more thing I added following lines

I think i had problem with the following line...

Well for one thing you seem to have multiple Tomcat instances running. This may or may not be contributing to your problems and confusion.
Also I don't see where your code could be throwing a null pointer exception.
To be honest I think you should first investigate how many Tomcat instances you have running and clean that up first. Because you could well be deploying to the wrong instance for all we know.

Problems with JDK and NetBeans

Hi, I've just started to learn java and I'm having some problems to compile projects. I installed JDK 1.5.0 (with NetBeans 4.0 beta 2), but when I try to compile any program (including the sample ones) I get the following error message:
C:\Documents and Settings\F�bio\JavaApplication2\nbproject\build-impl.xml:34: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Malformed \uxxxx encoding.
Anyone knows what might be happening?
By the way, I've already tried to reinstall the whole package (removing everything first), but it didn't help. Also, before installing this version I was using JDK 1.4.2 just fine, but now none will work .

You might have problems with file name like *.java and *.class.
As if I had heard about some JVM for 16-bit Windows (the next best thing to DOS ;-) written by IBM.

Can anyone show me how to load a j2me project in eclipse, for example load a demo project in WLK folder? It seems to me that I am just able to load projects created by eclipse.

I suggest that you use netbeans. Can you create a new J2ME project in eclipse?
To run J2ME, you may need J2ME Toolkits too.

One of my user is facing issue in creating new time sheet,
"The time sheet creation failed, because of problems with the project server or with data validations".
This issue is coming to only few members out of 10000 members.
Note: For the same user, can able to do in other machines. only the problem in his machine. Have ran the office diagnostics, but still the problem persists.
Is any add-on's/any settings need to update in IE. Could any one please help me on how to fix this issue?

The problem is that you have left paper on the floor near the

Please you have to do a little of the work yourself.
First, post a topic that has a title regarding your problem.
That way people who know about that problem will be more likely to
take a look.
Second, don't just say you have a problem and receive and
error. Shay what kind of problem and tell us what the error says.
Third. Most people won't download a file from any random
stranger off the net. So don't expect that is going to explain it.
Fourth, even if the file does explain it, why should a
stranger have to do all the steps that you should have done?
Fifth, do a little work yourself, what have you tried to fix
it?
Sixth. Just because it is urgent to you doesn't mean it is
urgent to everybody else.
So try some of these things and post back.

Problem when Creating Project (Composite Application Services) in NWDS

I've seen a few posts regarding this but I don't feel as if any real solution was given.
I just installed Netweaver Developer Studio (7.0.15) with the current JDK/JRE (1.6.0_07). When trying to create a new Composite Application Services project within the Studio, using the new project wizard, I get an error: Problem when Creating Project.
I get the EJB Module and Dictionary to create within my navigator with no problems, however, during the creation of the metadata, the error occurs. I do have the metadata folder appear within the navigator, but nothing in it. None of the other three items are created.
I have tried the attempt at deleting the metadata folder within my workspace directory and trying again but the same exact result occurs.
Is there any other solution out there for this problem besides attempting to find older versions of NWDS, etc. that are more "stable"?

Very simple but effective solution.
I had tried uninstalling / re-installing NWDS with no effect but uninstalling / re-installing NWDS AND all java related products on my machine did work.
Note: For anyone else with this issue in the future. I installed the Java SDK / JRE 1.4.2_18 with NWDS 7.0.15 in case this is also a possible issue with versions.

I don't quite get your question. What did you mean by open? Did you mean to display it. Receipt is a JPanel, to show it you need to have it inside a Frame or an Applet or some sort of container.

Problem executing a sql query in 10g environment

I am having problem executing the following sql query in 10g environment. It works fine in 8i environment.
I tried to_number(to_char) and it did not work.

I would be surprised if that worked in 8i as posted, although I no longer have 8i to test. You do not tell us the error message you are getting, but there are several things wrong with what you posted.
First, the substitution variable requires only the & at the beginning, you have one on each end of your string, the one at the end will remain in the string that is passed to the database.
Second, you cannot TO_CHAR a string with a date format as you are trying to do. The TO_CHAR function is overloaded and has two basic forms TO_CHAR(date, format_model) and TO_CHAR(number, format_model). Note that neither takes a string. It would appear that at least current versions of Oracle choose the second signature unless specifically passed a date datatype.

THE PROBLEM: Oracle SP calls SQL Server SP and any time I try to INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE (DML) within SQLServer SP it throws an exception on Oracle's end. Once I comment all DML code the proc runs fine.

Let me explain what I need to achieve
Purpose
Execute an Oracle stored procedure which in turn executes a stored procedure on remote SQLServer which updates local tables on that SQLServer.
Observations
The execution of both procedures completes successfully. However, an explicit COMMIT statement must be issued on the Oracle session which initiated the transaction before any data could be read from the SQLServer updated table.
The following is test exercise for proof of concept.

I have put the Oracle gateway in Single_Site mode to avoid two phase commit. I want SQLServer to be able to run its own transaction management. I don't want Oracle to be responsible for completing the transactions which take place within SQLServer.
I fear there might be a gap in my knowledge.
Any ideas why I need to issue a COMMIT in Oracle session to release the lock from SQLServer table?
