Problem facing with Transient in View Object

Hi Friends,
I had created a new table in the database and create an Entity Object for that table,
i had add this entity object in one of the View Object and when i was trying to add attributes from Available List to the Selected List.
The Attributes are changing to Transient and that particular attribute Mapped to column got unchecked, even tho i check it manually it is turning unchecked automatically when i click on Apply Button.
* In Entity Object Attributes are checked with >Persistent and Queryable and Type is NUMBER Updatable checked to Always.
Can you please suggest me where am i going wrong, i had done me best to solve this problem.
Please help me out from this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Rahul

    Does anyone no how I might fix this?

    Please provide further details. How are you creating the dynamically generated query? Could you show the original query vs. what is executed?
    Thanks.

  • Problem during Add row in View Object : View Row of Key Not found

    Hello,
    I'm facing this problem during insert of new row in the view object. I'm having 2 entities that belong to the same DB table (I need this because one is required with the composition assoc and the other one without it).
    I have three tables, COMPANY, USERS and PRIVILEGES.
    Company (1) to USERS (N)
    USERS (1) to PRIVILGES (N)
    While adding users for a specific company , i get this error msg.
    P.S: I'm not getting this error, if i add company, then user. Only if i directly add users i'm getting this error.

    Hi Timo,
    once again thanks for ur reply.
    as my vo are based on procedure, i know that i can't update the table using them.
    i only wanted to insert the rows in the vo and show it to user (only for selection purpose).
    Now my problem is sorted as i have changed the code like this-
    Row new_row=vo1.createRow();
    new_row.setAttribute(index,vo2.getAttribute(index)) ;
    vo1.insertRow(new_row);
    Earlier i was only inserting a new row, without creating any row.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Problem exposing Accessor Methods on View object (ViewRowImpl.java)

    JDeveloper 9.03
    I have a view link, ViewLinkSourceDest, that links two view objects Source and Destination. Each view object has its respective ViewRowImpl.java file created.
    I have selected "Generate Accessor in View Object" in View link Properties of the View Link Wizard for both source and destination view objects.
    The correct Accessor methods are available in both the source and destination ViewRowImpl files.
    When I access the Source accessor method from the DestinationViewRowImpl object I receive the following error:
              ORA-00904: invalid column name
              It is also is displaying the Source view object's SQL statement with the (:1 = Destination.ID) where clause.
    The error is occurring when trying to retrieve the view object using this type of method call:
              Row r = this.getSourceView();
    After further investigation I have found an example set of view objects in which the error does not occur. The difference was in the ViewLink.xml file.
    The ViewLink.xml file that accesses the Accessor with the error begins like this:
              <ViewLink
                   Name="ViewLink"
                   Where=":1 = Destination._ID" >
    The ViewLink.xml file that accesses the Accessor with no error begins like this:
              <ViewLink
                   Name="ViewLink"
                   EntityAssociation ="SourceDestAssociation" >
    suggesting that the use of an association would resolve this problem.
    I was not able to create a View link based on an association that would generate a ViewLink.xml file that ressemble the successful file above. I could however manually add the correct entry to the xml file that caused the error and sucessfully access the Accessor method in the source object. This is not the final answer because the IDE will regenerate the ViewLink.xml file to its original state even if created with the appropriate Association.
    Is this a bug?
    Is the way the ViewLink.xml file created different in JDev 9.03 than in 9.02
    Is there something I am missing that is causing the ViewLink.xml file to generate incorrectly?
    Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Rob

    Steps to recreate:
    1 Create SomeSuperEntityImpl.java extended by SourceEntityImpl.java and DestinationEntityImpl.java entity objects.
    2 Create SourceView and DestinationView objects
    3 Create SourceDestinationAssociation linking the entity object Source PK to Destination FK
    4 Create SourceDestinationView linking Source and Destination view using the SourceDestinationAssociation
    View the SourceDestinationView.xml file and you will see that the viewlink has Where=":1 = source.src_id"
    This is the scenario that causes the initial problem with the Accessor Methods.
    If the SomeSuperEntityImpl.java is removed as the super class and the same procedure is followed you will get the desired 'EntityAssociation = "package.SourceDestinationAssociation"' in the SourceDestinationView.xml file .
    Hope this is a little clearer.

  • Displaying a Master with two detail view objects

    Hi,
    I have a situation where I need to relate a Master view object to two Detail view objects. Currently I am doing the lookup manually (using viewcriteria!) but I would much rather have the framework handle this. Does anyone know of a way to A: Link two details to one master and B: Display them on the same page.
    I am using Jdeveloper 9.0.3.3 (1205) and currently have a straight BC4J/JSP application with no struts or UIX.
    Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

    If I understand you correctly. You should just have to create two separate viewLinks. Add the datasource tags for the master and the two views via the viewlinks. Then use a rowKey to get the correct master.
    Hope that helps!

    Also i have tried the below approch is this a right approch? please correct me if i am wrong.
    Create table t1

    insert into t1 values (1,1,1);

    | 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 9 | 2 | | |
    | 1 | TABLE ACCESS FULL | T2 | 1 | 9 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
    Now my question is what is problem instead of using EXCHANGE PARTITION why caun't we follow this above approch?
    to partition a non-partitioned table?
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

    The value of 3 should obviously should go into the partition P3.Then why are you putting it into p1?
    Your command,
    <tt>    alter table t2 exchange partition <b>p1</b> with table t1;</tt>
    will swap partition p1 with the contents of table t1, leaving you with partition p1 containing the three values that were in t1. At first it told you there were rows in t1 that did not belong in that partition, but you used FORCE so it put them in anyway.
    btw there are notes in the FAQ about how to use ** tags to format your posts.

    Hi Sathya,
             I guess you are trying to upload data from excel file(XLS format).
             If it is correct then you cannot do this in webdynpro, first you save the excel file as tab delimited.
             Open your excel file->save as->other formats->give file type as TEXT(Tab delemited).
             Now use this file to upload. It should work perfectly.

  • Problem faced with setContentType

    Initially i am sorry for posting this here as this is not a Swings topic.
    I am facing a prob. of the foll. type :
    I have a string with me which has some content for eg strA =
    To:
    123/456
    239.
    Items Qty.
    2 8
    Thanks,
    ABC.
    Lets suppose the content is as above.I am using setContentType(strA,"text/plain").I can use text/html but there is a certain requirement due to which i have used plain text & the final format is as I have printed above.
    I am mailing this text.
    My prob. is that i receive the same format thru Microsoft Outlook ,hotmail & yahoo accounts.
    But am facing a prob. with the format when i receive it thru Outlook Express.
    The text gets typed without any alignment.,spaces ....
    What could be the reason & is there any way to solve this.Is my MIME type wrong?

    \n...is the only tag i have used...i have avoided even \t........
    basically the string spaces r maintained by means of spaces.....
    as no tags were wanted to be kept...as i said this is plain text......
    but even the spaces r not taken properly...........the text get's printed the way it wants to .......in outlook express...i believe that text/plain cud be replaced by something else but that is what i don't know....

  • Problem facing with BC-Set activation while doing servicedesk configuration

    Hi All,
    I have installed Solution Manager 4.0,And i applied all the latest service pack (both abap and java service packs).I try to activate some BC-sets(ex: Service_desk_change_request_32A,Service_desk_change_request_32F2).When try to activiation it is giving  Runtime errors like DATA_LENGTH_0
    and Exception CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS
    Can some one help how to activiate the BC-Sets in the process of configuring the Service desk userin the SolutionManager system.
    regards
    srujan

    Hi JP,
    The BC sets in note 898614 are in IMG activity "Activate Service Desk BC Set". I put this together for myself just to track what the heck is going on while I configured this.
    Cofiguration of Basic Settings:
    SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide
    ..SAP Solution Manager
    ....Configuration
    ......Basic Settings
    ........Standard Configuration of Basic Settings
    ..........Solution Manager
    ............Activate Maintenance Optimizer BC Set
    ................SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000
    ................SOLMAN40_CHARM_PROXYFACT_001
    ............Activate Service Desk BC Set
    ..............This task refers to the BC sets in note 898614:
    ................SOLMAN40_SDESK_BASICFUNC_000
    ................ZSOLMAN40_SDESK_ACT_ADVCLOSE_001
    ................ZSOLMAN40_SDESK_ACTIONLOG_001
    ................ZSOLMAN40_SDESK_TPI_ACT_AST_001
    ..............Then note 898614 says apply BC sets in note 931196:
    ................ZSOLMAN40_SDESK_TEXTTYPES_001 << This errors out
    ................SOLMAN_CORPF_TEXTTYPES_001 << Should I?
    For me activating BC Set ZSOLMAN40_SDESK_TEXTTYPES_001 gets the error:
    COMV_TEXT_CUST No data found for writing activation links for object COMV_TEXT_CUST.
    Also, I think I may have blown it by not doing the piece lists. I have heard differently whether to do it or not and in which client and how to get it form dev to prod.
    Also, I could be wrong but I thought SERVICE_DESK_CHANGE_REQUEST_32A was from SolMan 3.2.
    Please post if you get it all figured out.
    Good luck,
    David

  • Problem faced with Jtable

    I have a row added to JTable.I am trying to edit column 2 in it.Now i keep my cursor in the same column which is being edited (i.e the focus remains in the column being edited) & click on Cancel Button
    By means of this button i clear the Jtable.i.e delete the row which is added to it.
    Now i add 1 more row to this Jtable.
    The same column of the newly added row displays the contents which had been edited previously.
    Eg : Row consists of 3 columns Col. 1 : Name
    Col 2 : Roll No
    Col 3 : Place .
    Assume that i add a row with name pradeep Roll No. 2 & Place - Mumbai.
    I edit col. 2 having roll no. 2 & make it 3.Keeping the focus here only i click on cancel.
    This row has been thus deleted.Now i add a new row..which has name : Manish Roll No : 5 & Place : Mumbai.But Column 2 shows 3 instead of 5.
    I have tried Jtable..repaint();
    jtable.updateUI();
    jtable.lostFocus();
    jtable.getCellEditor().stopCellEditing();
    however still this happens...is there any way to make jtable lose focus externally.....or any other way to handle this.

    It's the same what i have explained, though it's not real stuff..the idea is the same....yet i have clarified things below also...i have an textfield wherein i enter the main code.I click on enter & the details related to this code get added to the grid.Like in the example given be4...Let's assume i enter 1 i.e the code in the textfield & click on enter.The details related to 1 are Name : Pradeep Roll No. : 2 & Place : Mumbai.(Note that Name,Roll No & Place are column names)
    This gets added to the grid.Now i change the Roll No. which is currently 2 to 3.My focus is in this column.For some reason i don't need this record & click on cancel button.
    Now i enter 2 in the Textfield & click on enter. The details expected to be seen in the added row are Name : Manish , Roll No. 5 & Place Mumbai.But what is seen instead of this is Name : Manish , Roll No. 3 & Place : Mumbai.Also the focus is already in column 2.
    When we edit a column the code added changes the column data & then calls
    jTable.getCellEditor().cancelCellEditing().
    The code on clicking cancel calls
    jtable.repaint();
    jtable.updateUI()
    if (jtblBarCodeDetails.isEditing()) {
    jtblBarCodeDetails.getCellEditor().stopCellEditing();
    well.....that is it..

    Hi
    Combine your BADI as a warning message and with older userexits (see Note 198137 - VL10: Customer-specific enhancements / user exits). Use the include LV50R_VIEWG06 and set cf_subrc = 1 for the deliveries that you must not create because they hava an error.
    I hope this helps you

  • Uix two view-objects on one entity-object synchronize

    Hi All
    I want to add some uix pages to an old project using ADF UIX and Business Components.
    I have an entity object to a table witch about 50 fields.
    Now I create two view objects due to a better performance. One witch seven attributes for the overwiew and one with all attributes for the detail page.
    They are related via a view link.
    I create the overview as a read-only-table and the detail-page as an input-form.
    The proplem is that the synchronization don't work. The detail page shows the first dataset ever.
    Has anyone a solution or a tip where I can found that?
    Is where a performance problem if I use one view-object for both pages?
    Thanks in advance
    Roger

    Use custom DataAction for the first page:
    package controller;
    import oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataAction;

  • Maintaining data of view objects in cache memory for repeated usage

    Hi,
         We are developing an application which is having around 800 viewobjects that will be used as LOV in different screens. Therefore, it is decided to create a separate project for all such LOV view objects and keep the same in shared scope so that the data can be made availabe across the application.
         The application also communicates with different database schemas based on the logged-in county. For a particular user, LOV view object LovView1 should get the data fetched from Schema1 whereas for user2, the same LovView1 should get the data from Schema2.
         For this, we have created n number of ApplicationModules like AM1, AM2 etc in the project each one being connected to different database. A base application module also has been created and all the county specific AMs extend this base AM. Also all the LOV view object instances are included in this base AM so that they will be available in the county specific AMs also.The entire project is made as an ADF Library jar and this base AM is utilized by other projects for mapping the LOV by attaching the library.
         At runtime, whenever a particular viewobject is accessed, the findViewObject() method of the baseAM has been overridden and the logic is built in such a way to get the logged in user's county code from a session variable and based on the county, the corresponding AM is communicated with and the view object is returned.
         The view objects of the LOV project is used as LOV as well as for doing some other backend processes. In such cases, the view object is obtained and necessary filter conditions are appended to the view criteria and is executed to get the filtered rowset.
    Now, my questions are,
    1. Is it enough to create the jar for the LOVProject and access the view objects from the same baseAM across the application?
    2. I wish to keep all the data in cache memory to avoid repeated DB hits for all the LOV view objects. How it can be achieved? To be more precise, consider two users user1 and user2 logging into the application with different county. When user1 access a LOV viewobject for the first time, data needs to be fetched from the DB, kept in application scoped cache memory and return the rowset. On subsequent calls to the viewobject, the data needs to be retreived from the cache and not from the DB. When user2 also access the same LOV viewobject, the same logic as explained for user1 should happen. How can I achieve this? Actually my doubt is when user2 access, will the data pertaining to user1 remains available in cache? If not, how to make it retain the data in cache?
    3. I also wish to append a particular where condition to a viewobject irrespective of other considerations like logged in county, existing view criteria etc.. How can I do this? A separate thread for this requirement has been posted in the forum Including additional where clause conditions to view criteria dynamically
    Kindly give me your suggessions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi Vijay,
    regarding your questions:
    1. What is the difference between "TimesTen In-Memory Database" and
    "In-Memory Database Cache" in terms of features and licensing model?
    ==> Product has just been renamed and integrated better with the Oracle database - Times-Ten == In-Memory-Cache-Database
    2. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option integrated with Oracle 10g
    installable or a separate installable (i.e. TimesTen installable with only
    cache feature)?
    ==> Seperate Installation
    3. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option same as that of "TimesTen Cache
    Connect to Oracle" option in TimesTen In-Memory Database?
    ==> Please have a look here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/quickstart/cc_qs_index.html
    This explains the differences.
    4. After integrating "In-Memory Database Cache" option with Oracle 10g, data
    access will happen only through Oracle sqlplus or OCI calls. Am I right here
    in making this statement?
    ==> Please see above mentioned papers
    5. Is it possible to cache the result set of a join query in "In-Memory
    Database Cache"?
    ==> Again ... ;-)
    Kind regards
    Mike

  • How to populate bind variable in view objects where clause in ADF faces

    I've got a page with 2 input items.
    The user manually enters the first value.
    On the second input item I have created a LOV for the item which opens in a popup. How do I restrict the data returned in the LOV using the value entered in the first input item. I have created a bind variable and have included it in the where clause for the view object but how do I populated it.

    Here is an example:
    Using the HR schema with the EMPLOYEES and DEPARTMENTS tables.
    Example is using ADF BC and created an EMPLOYEES entity with an updateable view object for page,
    and created a DEPARTMENTS view as a lookup
    (SQL: select department_id, department_name from departments where department_name = :DeptName)
    1: add method to the backing bean to filter the LOV
    public void getTextValueToFilterLOV(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    Object value_from_form = valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application fapp = fctx.getApplication();
    JUFormBinding formBinding = (JUFormBinding)fapp.createValueBinding("#{bindings}").getValue(fctx);
    DCIteratorBinding dcBinding = (DCIteratorBinding)formBinding.get("DeptLOVIterator");
    ViewObject vo = dcBinding.getViewObject();
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("DeptName",value_from_form);
    vo.executeQuery();
    2. add valueChangeListener to the inputText on the page with an id and autoSubmit="true"
    <af:inputText value="#{bindings.LastName.inputValue}" label="#{bindings.LastName.label}" binding="#{backing_DeptForm.inputText3}"
    id="inputText3"
    autoSubmit="true"
    valueChangeListener="#{backing_DeptForm.getTextValueToFilterLOV}">
    </af:inputText>
    3. reference the LOV with the id name on the partialTriggers property
    <af:selectOneChoice value="#{bindings.EmployeesUpdView1DepartmentId.inputValue}"
    label="#{bindings.EmployeesUpdView1DepartmentId.label}" binding="#{backing_DeptForm.selectOneChoice1}"
    id="selectOneChoice1"
    partialTriggers="inputText3">
    <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.EmployeesUpdView1DepartmentId.items}"
    binding="#{backing_DeptForm.selectItems1}"
    id="selectItems1"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    Summary:
    When you entered a text (LastName), that value is passed into the backing bean method.
    The Bean method code will find the LOV Iterator and put the value into the bind variable.
    Cheers,
    Jim
