PI 7.0 Production server restarts automatically
Hi guys,
We have installed and configured correctly a PI 7.0 system on Windows 2003 Standard Edition X64-bit with SQL Server 2005. We are on SP12. Everything, SLD, RFC connections work properly.
The problem is that 4-5 days after the installation the Windows Server restarts automatically in unexpected time during the day (unexpected shutdown), even when anybody doesn't do anything in the system. In the Event Viewer we get the following message/error "System Error: Category 102 EventID 1003". There are no other messages/errors.
This is a production system and we are supposed to go live within the next days! So I need your help ASAP.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Best Regards.

Windows 2012 server Restarts automatically
Hi All,
I have installed Windows server 2012 DataCenter. in my system with configuration of 24GB RAM and core i5 processor with 2TB HDD. I have enabled just Hyper-v on that server and installed Google Chrome browser. When I Login the Physical machine works fine
and it automatically restarts after an hour, then the machine works fine for that day<End of the day, I shutdown the machine>. When I Login the Machine next day automatically restarts after an hour.
I have uploaded the file DMP file and Screen shots in the below location. Please help me to solve the problem.
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=99D83AC0E427365A!182&authkey=!ABODY8F90tV6gaw&ithint=file%2c.zip
Loganathan SYou have not activated the machine. It sounds like you are running the evaluation copy, and it is working exactly as it is designed. The evaluation needs to reach out to Microsoft (via the internet) to activate. Once it activates, it will
run for 180 days. At that point, it will go back to the running for an hour and shutting down again. You can re-arm (with access to the internet) the evaluation copy for another 30 days by using slmgr.vbs. After 30 days, it's back to running
for an hour before shutting down. You can re-arm an evaluation copy a maximum of three times, giving you a total of 210 days. That should be sufficient for any evaluation.
If you want to make this into a production machine, you can change it from an evaluation copy to a production copy by activating it with a purchased key.

CRL list update & http server restart
All,
I am sorry to ask what seems like a stupid question but I do not have access to an http server I can use for testing.
Do you really have to restart the http server for an updated CRL file to take affect? My DBA only wants to update the CRL file once a week because he doesn't want to restart the http server every night. It seems to me that if the Certificate Authority updates their CRL list every day that I should do the same.
Any experience with the need to restart the http server?

Notify when managed server restarts automatically after a crash.
I am trying to see if there is some way I can be notified (by email) when a managed server a cluster restarts automatically. I am running Weblogic 9.2 on Solaris Sparc 5.10.
I can certainly compare the PIDs of the last and the new JVM but am looking for a slick way to do it especially at the Node Manager level.
Thanks.Hi,
*The server was started in warning mode and the JTA was declared unhealthy. I saw 2 transaction alive for more than 2000 seconds which is uncommon.
*The resource adaptor was started properly.
*We are using file store. But will it make a difference?
Thanks! -
Webi processing server restarts automatically
Dear all,
My Web Intelligence processing server automatically recycles (restarts) in ten minumtes even the users are actively accessing the webi reports. Anyone know whether there are any ways to bypass this problem?
(I checked the parameters of webi processing servers and they should not cause the servers to recycle in 10 mins)
ThanksThanks. Does it mean the command line parameter under 'Adapative Processing Server'? i.e., -Xms32m and -Xmx256m in the following text?
>>>
"-server" "-Dbobj.javaserver.home=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server" "-Dcom.businessobjects.pjs.common.dir=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/java/lib/" "-Dcom.businessobjects.pjs.conf.file=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server/conf/config.xml" "-Dorg.apache.geronimo.base.dir=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server/platform" "-Djava.io.tmpdir=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server/platform/var/temp" "-Dbusinessobjects.logs.home=/bi_01/boe31/bobje/logging/" "-Xms32m" "-Xmx256m" "-DXorg.apache.geronimo.gbean.NoProxy=true" "-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=false" -jar "/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server/bin/boeserver.jar" "-workdir" "/bi_01/boe31/bobje/enterprise120//java/server/work"
<<<
If this is correct, the maximum value I can set for Xmx is 1024m, i.e., -Xmx1024m.
Please kindly suggest and comment.

Hi,
We have Exchange server 2013 restarting issue.(15.0.847.32)
Found The bugcheck was: 0x000000ef (0xffffe00000ee8080, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000) Event in the logs.
We have performed below steps but still same issue.
1. We have removed
Global Override for
ServiceHealthMSExchangeReplForceReboot responder (Reason for this as its not getting disabled)
2. Created Local Override and set the value to "0" (Disabled)
Server still restarting.Hi,
I have followed above already the problem remain same.
I have disabled Microsoft Exchange Health
Manager Service to monitor till now issue not reported.
Is this best practice to disable the service in these kinds of issues or is there any other way?
Its a workaround that many have used yes.
However, having said that, its not something you want to leave in place.
I would suggest upgrading to at least CU6 or CU7 and if that does not resolve the issue, opening a support case with Microsoft.

Exchange Server Restarts Automatically After Configuring Allowed Kerberos Encryption Types
Hi,
Our Exchange 2013 SP1 servers are installed on Windows Server 2012 R2. After configuring "Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos" to AES256_HMAC_SHA1
only. The Exchange Servers began rebooting automatically. But after adding RC4_HMAC_MD5, the issue stopped.
Does this means that Exchange 2013 SP1 requires RC4_HMAC_MD5 as an allowed Kerberos encryption type?this will help you to understand...

How to restart HTTP Server, OC4J after failure.
Hi ,
I want to test "Death detection and Automatic Restart" feature for a failed instance.
Environment details :
- Oracle 10g AS Release 2. (J2EE and Web Cache)
- Microsoft Windows XP OS
Here are the steps that I have done to implement this for HTTP Server.
1) Following change done in opmn.cml file
<process-set id="HTTP_Server" restart-on-death="true" numprocs="1">
<module-data>
<category id="start-parameters">
<data id="config-file" value="D:\OraHome_1\Apache\Apache\conf\httpd.conf"/>
<data id="start-mode" value="ssl-disabled"/>
<data id="command-line" value="-D MyDefine"/>
</category>
<category id="ping-parameters">
<data id="ping-url" value="/"/>
</category>
<category id="restart-parameters">
<data id="reverseping-timeout" value="345"/>
<data id="no-reverseping-failed-ping-limit" value="3"/>
<data id="reverseping-failed-ping-limit" value="6"/>
</category>
</module-data>
<start timeout="60" retry="3"/>
<stop timeout="60"/>
<restart timeout="30"/>
<ping timeout="30" interval="30"/>
</process-set>
2) Running following command
- opmnctl reload opmn.xml
- dcmctl resyncinstance -ct ohs
- dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn
To test this out, I execute this command
- opmnctl stopproc ias-component=HTTP_Server
Will the HTTP Server restart automatically after 30 second ?
Is the "restart-on-death" feature is default ?From Metalink Note:298551.1
By default, as in the schema definition file, opmn.xsd, the restart-on-death parameter takes a default BOOLEAN value of "TRUE" which means that OPMN mandate is to ping the managed processes ( OC4J instances and Apache ) at certain pre-defined intervals, monitor them for a response within a certain specified timeout period and retry the operation 3 times before concluding that the process is dead due to its non-responsive state and killing and restarting it to guarantee that the managed processes are up and able to service client requests on an ongoing basis - this is OPMN's mandate in ensuring failover and availability of the processes it manages.
"restart-on-death" is defalt? -
IPlanet 6 restarts automatically
Hi.
I am using iPlanet 6.0. When I try to access a certain screen, sometimes the web server restarts automatically, sometimes it just crashes, and sometimes it works properly. I can't find any error msg logged in the server error log or access log.
Does any one have any ideas as to what might be causing my web server to restart/crash?
Thanks.These are the only messages I can find in the error and access log:

Secure server instance restarts automatically
Hi All,
I am using iPlanet Web Server 6.0 SP1 with weblogic app server ( no LDAP ) to host a website on Windows 2000 machine. I have two virtual server instances of iPlanet. The one that is configured for SSL, gets restarted automatically. I get following error in event log of system or error log of that instance.
ncorrect Parameter security ( 3780): for host 202.68.143.70 trying to HEAD /index.html, acl-state reports: access of D:/iPlanet/Servers/docs/web/index.html denied by ACL path=d:/iplanet/servers/docs/web/ directive 1
The ACL entries are OK.
Could anybody please help me out?The error message states that the server denied access to a client who was trying to access D:/iPlanet/Servers/docs/web/index.html. It denied access as it was instructed to by the first access control directive configured on the path d:/iplanet/servers/docs/web/. If you don't want to deny access to D:/iPlanet/Servers/docs/web/index.html, you should review your ACL file configuration.
The Service Pack Release Notes document the issues addressed by that Service Pack. You can view the Release Notes on docs.sun.com at http://docs.sun.com/db/prod/s1websrv#hic
