Problem i changeing of attribute position in xml

hi ,
when i insert some data in a xml file then the existing code is converted to its own order like/...
//Existing code
<count type="figure_total"  count="3"/>
<count type="table_total" count="6" />
<count type="reference_total" count="69"/>
[\code]
//After Adding a Attribute<count count="3" col="1" type="figure_total"/>
<count count="6" col="1" type="table_total"/>
<count count="69" col="1" type="reference_total"/>
[\code]
is there any specific reason like arranging automatically in alphabatical order for the attributes.
if yes then why they have the code like
  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>am i making sense.

actually the input xml file is created by another programmer who designed the dtd and also not in java . so in that the order is like this they have given.
anyway that will not affect the file.
but i have another doubt in the same..
initially i had a tag like
<x>-</x>
when i do some changes in the same i/p xml file using my code..
it is automatically
inserting <x xml:space="preserve">&ndash;</x>
xml:space="preserve" --- why this is added?

  • How to change the attributes of an XML file

    hi peeps 'ope you can help me here i need to change the attributes of an xml file, i parse it first using a DOM parser but i cant find a way to change the attributes in the XML file, setAttribute() works only at runtime and doesn't change the attribute in the file itself. I can't find a method that will answer my question. I've searched through the forum and found similar threads....they say in order to write and change the attribute i must use the write() method of the XmlDocument class defined in com.sun.xml.tree.XmlDocument. But, i found another thread, and it says that com.sun.xml.tree.XmlDocument is not safe to use and i should use org.apache.crimson.tree.XmlDocument.....i can't find the XmlDocument class and the API for this package so i really dont know where to start...hope you guys can help me! thnx

    thanks for responding roland....i already found the solution...i didn't use the XmlDocument class because i can't find any documents about it except for JAXP 1.0 here is my code snippet...i used the TransformerFactory and Transformer class to write

    NodeList nodeList = doc.getElementsByTagName ("File");

    for(int iWriteFailed = 0; iWriteFailed <nodeList.getLength() ; iWriteFailed ++){
    n2 = nodeList.item(iWriteFailed);
    e2 = (Element) n2;

    Transformer transformer = transformerFactory.newTransformer();

  • Changing descriptor attribute in HRServiceApplicationStructure.xml

    I can't see the effect in the running application when I change the descriptor attribute.
    I tried to make the HRServiceApplicationStructure.xml and also re-run JAG.

    Ahsan,
    The descriptor attribute is used (among others) in the select list for a select-form layout, and as parent context in a detail page.
    May be you are you trying to use the descriptor attribute for something else?

    Hi,
    Yes you can do this via XSLT.
    You can try similar to the one below:
    <table>
       <xsl:attribute name="width">
         <xsl:value-of select="((./width) div 200)*(100)" />
       </xsl:attribute>
    </table>
    I have not tested yet... Try it....

  • Change the attribute "src" to "href" before importing an XML

    I need to change the attribute "src" to "href" (<img scr="....">) before importing an XML document. I think you could do with XSLT, so you can add a script to import XML documents. But I do not know much about XSLT ...
    Does anyone could give me an idea?
    Thanks in advance...!!!

    Piece of cake. Here is an identity transform, except that it filters out "src" attributes:

    Don't hold it like that. You're creating an 'echo chamber' due to the position of your hand/neck/face. It's not a technical issue. I hear this when I talk to my wife and she cradles the phone against her shoulder.

  • Change over from a simple Xml call to a rpc-Http call ....

    Hi there,
    I need to change over from a simple Xml call:
    <mx:XML id="urlsGeneral" source="http://www.mySite.com//.../AFS.xml"/>
    to a rpc-Http call which is updating the readout if Xml is changed at any time.
    I forgot to mention the most important item yet a very simple one: I need this only to be displayed in a title etc, and NOT a datagrid or else example below.
    title="{urlsGeneral.urlGeneral.(@name==0).age}
    I tried a lot today, but just can't get it right as the id="urlsGeneral" is always the problem.
    Any help would be appriciated !!! Thanks in advance. regards aktell2007
    <urlsGeneral>
    <urlGeneral>
    <name>Jim</name>
    <age>32</age>
    </urlGeneral>
    <urlGeneral>
    <name>Jim</name>
    <age>32</age>
    </urlGeneral>
    </urlsGeneral>
    Another call:
    <mx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
    import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
    public var myData:ArrayCollection;
    protected function myHttpService_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void {
    myData = event.result.urlsGeneral.urlGeneral;
    ]]>

    <mx:HTTPService
    id="myHttpService"
    url="http://www.mySite.com//..../AFS.xml"
    result="myHttpService_resultHandler(event)"/>
    Preferable I wanted something like this to work:
    <mx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
    import mx.managers.CursorManager;
    import mx.controls.Alert;
    import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;

    myHTTP.resultFormat = "xml";
    myHTTP.addEventListener(ResultEvent.RESULT, resultHandler);
    myHTTP.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT, faultHandler);

    private function resultHandler(evt:ResultEvent):void {
    var xmlStr:String = evt.result.toString();

    appLastChanged.text = resultObj.application.configApp.appLastChanged;
    appChangedSections.text = resultObj.application.configApp.appChangedSections;
    CursorManager.removeBusyCursor();
    myHTTP.disconnect();
    private function faultHandler(event:mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent):void {
    var faultInfo:String="fault details: "+event.fault.faultDetail+"\n\n";
    faultInfo+="fault faultString: "+event.fault.faultString+"\n\n";
    mx.controls.Alert.show(faultInfo,"Fault Information");
    var eventInfo:String="event target: "+event.target+"\n\n";
    eventInfo+="event type: "+event.type+"\n\n";
    mx.controls.Alert.show(eventInfo,"Event Information");
    CursorManager.removeBusyCursor();
    myHTTP.disconnect();
    ]]>
    </mx:Script>

    Hi again,
    These days there are more quetions than answeres on any forum, and very seldom anybody shares the answer if they lucky enough to work it out so here is my answer for the above question
    Change over from a simple Xml call to a rpc-Http call ....
    I had it all along as a commend noted: // Removed [0] on single node !
    So instead of title="{urlsGeneral.urlGeneral.(@name==0).age} it would be now title="{resultObj.urlsGeneral.urlGeneral.[0].age} and now it works perfectly well. I hope that one or the other of you can use the answer and the code !!! regards aktell2007

  • Imported XSLT cannot create attributes for generated XML element

    I have two xslts. One imports the other.
    The imported xslt creates XML elements with attributes and this XML is stored in a variable in the main stylesheet
    If I perform the transformation with JRE prior to 1.6.0.18 then all works fine
    If I use 1.6.0.18 or 1.6.0.19 then the attributes aren't added.
    If I add attributes in the main xslt it works fine or if I output the element directly instead of first storing it in a variable then it also works fine.
    Problem seems to be when you try to add attributes from an imported stylesheet and store the generated element in a variable.
    Below two stylesheets to illustrate :
    First MainStylesheet.xsl
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

                   }          Note : the 'testAttribute' attribute is missing

    Have found the difference in the code
    In both JRE1.6.0_17 & JRE1.6.0_18, the class 'com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.dom.AdaptiveResultTreeImpl' has the following method
    public void addUniqueAttribute(String qName, String value, int flags)
            throws SAXException
            addAttribute(qName, value);
        }In JRE1.6.0_17 the next method is
    public void addAttribute(String name, String value)
         if (_openElementName != null) {
             _attributes.add(name, value);
         else {
             BasisLibrary.runTimeError(BasisLibrary.STRAY_ATTRIBUTE_ERR, name);
        }In JRE1.6.0_18 the next method is
    public void addAttribute(String uri, String localName, String qname,
                String type, String value)
         if (_openElementName != null) {
             _attributes.addAttribute(uri, localName, qname, type, value);
         else {
             BasisLibrary.runTimeError(BasisLibrary.STRAY_ATTRIBUTE_ERR, qname);
        }Note - the addAttribute method has additional parameters in JRE1.6.0_18 but the call from addUniqueAttribute wasn't updated.
    So in JRE1.6.0_18 addUniqueAttribute actually invokes the following method in the base package com.sun.org.apache.xml.internal.serializer.EmptySerializer
    public void addAttribute(String name, String value)
            aMethodIsCalled();
    void aMethodIsCalled()
            // throw new RuntimeException(err);
            return;
        }and as you can see this does nothing. Hence the fact that the attribute isn't added.

  • How can I change the name of the XML file which is submitted by mail?

    Hello Everybody,
    If I submit my pdf file as XML
    I will get something like this:
    MyFile.PDF -> submit as XML -> MyFile_data.XML
    My problem is with the _data at the end of the file name -> this addition is coming from the windows logon language,
    I know that because if the windows logon is in spanish I get the addition _datos for example: MyFile_datos.XML
    Is there a way to change the name of the xml file for example : MyFile.XML
    Thank you all in advance,
    Eran

    Hello Uti,
    I found out it is something with the adobe reader installation.
    If it is in English the suffix is _data
    If it is in Spanish the suffix is _datos
    If it is in Hebrew the suffix is _נתונים
    So Now I think i will have to open OSS for this issue.
    Thank you so much for your reply - I thought i was the only one with this problem...
    Best Regards,

  • Problem with custom tag attribute types

    Hi,
    I try to figure out how to pass an attribute to a custom tag that is of a type other than "String"?
    In my case, I should pass an attribute with a type of "java.util.ResourceBundle".
    My tag looks like this:
    <tt:cs sel="ab" ce="<%= java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle("de", Application.getApp().getLocale())%>" />
    I always get the message that the attribute ce is empty.
    Isn't it possible to have attirbutes that are of an other type than string? How could I solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards Patrick

    In JSP 1.2, in the Tag Library Descriptor, you can specify a tagt attribute as
    <attribute>
       <name>attr1</name>
       <required>true|false|yes|no</required>
       <rtexprvalue>true|false|yes|no</rtexprvalue>
       <type>fully-qualified_type</type>
    </attribute> Notice the XML element <type>fully-qualified_type</type>
    Not sure if you can do this in JSP 1.1

    This file I have stored in Oracle as table of XML Type.
    Now I have build a little Java Programm, that displays the XML File like the File structure in the Windows Explorer.
    I want, when I choose a file in the File structure, that the ID3 Informations like album artist a.s.o. can be displayed. My problem is, I couldn't get these informations e.g. in an array from the database. Any suggestions how I could realize this in Java?
    Thx for any comments

    Try this:
    select extract(xmltypefieldname, '//xpath/field@attribute').getStringVal() from yourtable where yourwhereclause
    You can also select elements that match certain attributes by using a predicate such as field[@attr = myval][@attr2 = myval2]...
    Hope this helps.

  • How to remove the standalone="yes" attribute in the xml declaration?

    Hi,
    I am using JAXB 2.0 to generate XML files. Can anyone tell me how to remove the standalone="yes" attribute in the xml declaration? Thanks in advance.

    Just open the file with your favorite text program and type away. If you get a permissions problem (file is locked by...) then just stop tomcat and open/edit/save the file and restart tomcat.
    I also think that the admin context that comes with tomcat might allow you to modify/add/edit your users (not sure though)

  • Changing visual attribute in Enter Query mode

    Hello, I want to change visual attribute of all items in the first record when the user presses button for Enter_Query. I want that the user sees that the form is in enter query mode and it "waits" for the input of criteria. My code (copied from Help and modified) in trigger WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED:
    DECLARE
    cur_itm VARCHAR2(80);
    cur_block VARCHAR2(80);
    BEGIN
    ENTER_QUERY;
    cur_block := :System.Cursor_Block;
    cur_itm := Get_Block_Property( cur_block, FIRST_ITEM );
    WHILE ( cur_itm IS NOT NULL ) LOOP
    cur_itm := cur_block||'.'||cur_itm;
    Set_Item_Instance_Property( cur_itm, CURRENT_RECORD, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'yellow');
    cur_itm := Get_Item_Property( cur_itm, NEXTITEM );
    END LOOP;
    END;
    where yellow is the name of my visual attribute.
    The problem is that I need to press the button TWICE to color the record.
    Can anybody help me with this problem?

    (Wrong forum).
    The problem is that enter_query stops executing your procedure until
    another action ist started by the user.
    You must create a short-time timer before issuing enter_query and set
    your colour scheme in the when-timer-expired-trigger.
