Problem in accessing Web Service from Excel

Hi All,
I have faced a new problem when calling WS from Excel.
I have created a WS from CAF which has one method and the method takes a list (a table) of structure as an input and returns a string as output. The structure contains three fields
such as
medPlace -- String
publictn - String
amount - long
This WS is working fine when I am testing from WS Nevigator.
Now I have imported the WS in Excel and now the data types are like
medPlace -- String
publictn - String
amount - double
My requirement is to send the multiple row of the Excel to the WS at a time( I mean as a List). So when I have executed it first time I got error like “deserialisation error”. But I got an article (SAP Web Services and Microsoft Office: How to Create Simple Composite Applications ) by Marcus Schiffer and that problem is resolved.
But Now I am getting the error like ......Client:Type conversion failure for element eXLSTRUCT0 HRESULT=0x80020005: Type mismatch. - Client:Unspecified client error. HRESULT=0x80020005: Type mismatch.
eXLSTRUCT0 - This is my structure name in input.
Can you please help me to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance
Chandan

Is it possible that your web service is receiving something
with an ill
formed tag. I'd second bitwyse's suggestion.

  • Web Services from Excel

    Hi,
    i want to use Excel (office 2003) with the web services toolkit from Microsoft (2.01) to call Web services from SAP (ABAP 7.0).
    In the 6.40 version of ABAP i was able to call a web service also with some complex data types (internal tables) from excel. Finally the trick was to avoid empty input complex types.
    Now trying this with the new version seems impossible. The system always respond "deserialisation failed". Tracking the problem shows a nice SOAP request in the SAP system, however, somehow the "deserialisation" error occurs here.
    Is there any hint on how to deal with this kind of error ?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Marcus

  • Problem calling a web Service from BI Publisher (10.1.3.2 )

    We have published a PL/SQL Web Service (from Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ) into a SOA Suite server.
    As requirements from BI Publisher , we chose Document/Literal, SOAP 1.1.
    The Program Unit accept an input parameter (we tried NUMBER & STRING)
    The result is an XML formatted (PL/SQL functions returns a CLOB then converted as a String).
    When testing the Service call from the SOA Suite console, no problems.
    We declined a page with APEX to test this Web Service too : Test is OK
    We added this web service as a data source in BI Publisher :
    After typing WSDL URL, Method, Parameter
    After testing , we do not get the XML result but an error message, coming from Apache AXIS (seems to be the DynamicInvoker) :
    not know how to convert '50740' into org.apache.axis.client.Call@cd7fdb
    Our demo is very near to this example : http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/11/01#a123
    and the one from the BI Publisher documentation

    I can't say I know the answer but I wanted to share a thought on debugging the issue. Like you I am seeing an axis error for a parameter on a web service I know works. I can call it using BPEL, SoapUI, etc... I suspect that perhaps BI pub is having trouble interpreting the WSDL for the web service. Specifically, I suspect that since I have imported schemas in the WSDL and nested imports in the supporting XSD files, the process is getting confused. The request message is fairly simple with three optional parameters but the WSDL does use an import via the WSDL. I wanted to share this since this problem often comes up with various tooling and I am lacking time to work out a test case to prove this theory out any time soon. I will try to post once I find some time to test this theory but it may be a while. Reading the results of someone else's test would be just as good!

  • Problem in consuming web service from esworkplace

    However I keep getting  the message "internal error in the services registry"
    BTW u2013 I defined the "esworkplace" as the services registry in the Preferences.
    Any ideas what can be the problem? Thanks.

    There is no any error message show up. It just the class
    Z_BAPI_ATTACHMENT_CREATE  doesn't create autometically as normal. I showed you as below.
    That means I can't call class z_bapi_attachment_create.

  • Problem invoking a web service from soa11g BPEL.

    Hi ,
    I am trying to invoke a web service from soa bpel 11g composite.
    We have the wsdl, wsdl URL of the web service along with the user name , password credentials.
    Initially w/o any WS policy attached and testing the composite, it fails with the below message
    *<fault>*
    *<bpelFault>*
    *<faultType>0</faultType>*
    *<remoteFault>*
    *<part name="summary">*
    *<summary>An Authentication object was not found in the SecurityContext</summary>*
    *</part>*
    *<part name="detail">*
    *<detail>javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: An Authentication object was not found in the SecurityContext</detail>*
    *</part>*
    *<part name="code">*
    *<code>soap:Server</code>*
    *</part>*
    *</remoteFault>*
    *</bpelFault>*
    *</fault>*
    *<faultType>*
    *<message>0</message>*
    *</faultType>*
    *</messages>*
    So I have gone back to the composite and added the WS policy (oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy) by Right clicking on web service -> Configure WS Policy -> Security -> oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy -> OK.
    After this I have added the following binding properties 'oracle.webservices.auth.username' , 'oracle.webservices.auth.password' with the respective values and deployed it again.
    Even then I face the same issue. I have looked into the EM console and found the HTTP username and password properties were blank for this Web service even though the WS policy was attached.
    Later I have tried editing the username pwd from the EM console, only to find out that the composite was now failing in the previous step (an ordinary db adapter with a select statement) even before it reaches the web service invocation.
    If I redeploy the composite, the http username and pwd properties in the EM console are erased and when i test it, it errors out at the web service invocation with the same issue again.
    Any pointers on how to solve this issue ??
    How can I figure out what is the security policy the web service is using ??
    Regards,
    Shiva Kiran

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me with this ??
    I guess I am not able to send the authorization credentials via the request to the web service invocation.
    Plz help ! This is a bit urgent..
    Regards,
    Shiva Kiran

  • Problem with consuming web service from abap

    Hello,
    I want to consume this web service VatatWebService Web Service From SAP.
    The transaction code soamanager doesn't exist in our system, i'm the only man who use SAP in our company(we don't have BC peoples....).
    I find some advice to use "wsadmin" and "lpconfig", but i do not know the step: wish data i have to fill in in tcode "wsadmin" or "lpconfig".
    I'm very new in this case...
    Is there any doc showing the step to consume a web service?
    Thank u very match.
    Ouail

    Hi,
    Have you tried to search using that magical tool called Google?  If I search for "SAP LPConfig" I get lots of promising looking answers:
    You could also try searching help.sap.com
    I appreciate you are new but one of the best skills you can learn in the world of SAP is how to search out and find information, so you aren't dependant upon SCN and/or others to help you when you get stuck.
    Cheers,
    G.

    I am also having the same problem. Calling a web service inside JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 works fine. When I deploy to a jar file and include all Jars that the dependency analyzer identifies, the following error occurs:
    standard type mapping initialization error: javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: javax
    .xml.soap.SOAPException: Unable to create SOAP Factory: Provider com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.soap.ver1_1.SOAPFactory1_1Impl not found
    Your work around defining Java system properties does work, but why do we need to do this using the Oracle SOAP stack?
    If there are alternatives to this problem please share. Thank you.

  • Access web service from tool area

    Hi,
    I want to edit the tool Area iView to invoke an external web services.
    I created a tool Area iView to be customized by importing “com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak” file from the NW2004s and create new portal project.
    I know how to edit add or remove any part from the tool area iview
    But how I can access the web service proxy? or what is the best way to implement that.

    Stumbled into a small problem:
    I have this method in my web service:
    @WebMethod(operationName = "test")
        public Integer test(@WebParam(name = "number")
        int number) {
        return number;
    }My client looks like this
    public static void main(String[] args) {
        try {
             String BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE = /*namespace url*/;
             QName port = new QName(/*Service name*/);
             ServiceFactory factory = ServiceFactory.newInstance();
             Service service = factory.createService(new QName(/*Service name*/));
             Call call = service.createCall(port);
             call.setTargetEndpointAddress(/*WSDL location*/);
             call.setReturnType(XMLType.XSD_INT);
             call.setOperationName(new QName(BODY_NAMESPACE_VALUE, "test"));
             call.addParameter("number", XMLType.XSD_INT, ParameterMode.IN);
             Integer[] i = new Integer[1];
             i[0] = new Integer(20);
             System.out.println("test :"+call.invoke(i));
        } catch (Exception ex) {
            ex.printStackTrace();
    } I get return values ok from the web service in my java client since I tried getting a constant from the web service. However, in the case above I am trying to send 20 from the client to the web service and receive it back. However I am receiving 0. Does anyone know why sending parameters from client to web service is not working?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Problem invoking gogle web service from session bean

    Hello
    I have developed a Web-Client which consumes the google-WebService with Apache Axis. I have generated the corresponding classes with WSDL2Java and the client works without problems. A little code fragment from my client:
    GoogleSearchService service = new GoogleSearchServiceLocator();
              // Now use the service to get a stub to the Service Definition Interface (SDI)
              GoogleSearchPort google = service.getGoogleSearchPort();
             GoogleSearchResult googleSearchResult =  google.doGoogleSearch(GOOGLE_KEY, // java.lang.String key
                           q.toString(), //java.lang.String q
                           0, // int start
                           10, // int maxResults
                           false, //boolean filter
                           "", // java.lang.String restrict
                           false, //boolean safeSearch
                           "lang_ja|lang_en", // java.lang.String lr
                           "UTF-8", // java.lang.String ie
                           "UTF-8"); // java.lang.String oeNow I have to put the Web-Client in a SessionBean. Therfore I defined the code of the web-client in a method and put it into a stateless session bean and wrote a client for the session bean. But when the session bean invokes the corresponding method for consuming the google web service, there always occurs the following error:
    [java] Exception in thread "main" java.rmi.ServerError: Unexpected Error; nested exception is:
    [java] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: GoogleSearch/GoogleSearchService
    But I have definitely all necessary classes in my classpath, like GoogleSearchService, etc. So all necessary classes are available. And the code to conume the web service als works because as said I tested it with a web-client.
    Has anybody an idea what went wrong here? Is there anything important when I a web service is invoked by a session bean??:(
    regards
    pat

    Has nobdy an idea?? :(( I tried for such a long time but I was not able to fix this problem....:(
    Please help...

    Is it possible that your web service is receiving something
    with an ill
    formed tag. I'd second bitwyse's suggestion.

  • How to access web service from Oracle ?

    Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
    I am trying to make a call to a web service through a procedure/function...
    I tried to use
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE Call_Rest_Webservice
    AS
      t_Http_Req Utl_Http.Req;
      t_Http_Resp Utl_Http.Resp;
      t_Request_Body VARCHAR2(30000);

      t_Start_Pos INTEGER := 1;
      t_Output VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
      /*Construct the information you want to send to the webservice.
      Normally this would be in a xml structure. But for a REST-
      webservice this is not mandatory. The webservice i needed to
      call excepts plain test.*/
      t_Request_Body := 'the data you want to send to the webservice';
      /*Telling Oracle where the webservice can be found, what kind of request is made
      and the version of the HTTP*/
      t_Http_Req := Utl_Http.Begin_Request('**webservice address**',
                                           'GET',
                                           'HTTP/1.1');
      /*In my case the webservice used authentication with a username an password
      that was provided to me. You can skip this line if it's a public webservice.*/
      --Utl_Http.Set_Authentication(t_Http_Req, 'username', 'password');
      /*Describe in the request-header what kind of data is send*/
      Utl_Http.Set_Header(t_Http_Req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml charset=UTF-8');
      /*Describe in the request-header the lengt of the data*/
      Utl_Http.Set_Header(t_Http_Req, 'Content-Length', Length(t_Request_Body));
      /*Put the data in de body of the request*/
      Utl_Http.Write_Text(t_Http_Req, t_Request_Body);
      /*make the actual request to the webservice en catch the responce in a
      variable*/
      t_Http_Resp := Utl_Http.Get_Response(t_Http_Req);
      /*Read the body of the response, so you can find out if the information was
        received ok by the webservice.
        Go to the documentation of the webservice for what kind of responce you
        should expect. In my case it was:
        <responce>
          <status>ok</status>
        </responce>
      Utl_Http.Read_Text(t_Http_Resp, t_Respond);
      /*Some closing?1 Releasing some memory, i think....*/
      Utl_Http.End_Response(t_Http_Resp);
    END;But it gave me ORA-29272: HTTP request failed
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1029
    ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
    But I can link to the web server by going to **webservice address** through my browser.
    Is there any ACL should be open in order to have this capability? I asked my DBA but she asked me I will need to give her username/password/ip in order to open an ACL...
    however there is no username/password required while visiting the web service...
    Any help would be highly appreciated..
    Thanks,

So it could be a firewall on my database side that needs to be open in order to visit the hostserver?The "web browser" code (your PL/SQL code using UTL_HTTP) runs on the Oracle database server. It needs the same type of network access that your browser on your PC enjoys. (firewalls opened, proxy authentication if required, etc).
    On 11g. Not on 10g.I saw the example code you post through the link you provided... will those only work on 11g?
    If it can work on 10g, what package or what steps I need to follow in order to have that working on me?The code I've posted will work on both versions. My comment was regards to ACLs. No ACLs existed on 10g. So you only need execute privs on the relevant packages (e.g. UTL_HTTP, etc).
    ACLs were introduced with 11g - so on 11g you also need the DBA to create an ACL for you that will allow UTL_HTTP access to the network.

  • NullPointerException in WebLogic while accessing web service from client

    Hi all,
    I have an SPML Web Service developed. The java class from WSDL was generated using wsdlc
    <wsdlc srcWsdl="schema/oracle_ws_spmlv2.wsdl" destJwsDir="${classes.dir}" type="JAXWS" explode="true"/>
    and then
    <jwsc classpath="..." classpathref="wls.jars" srcdir="src/main" destdir="${classes.dir}" keepGenerated="yes">
    <jws file="com/oracle/xmlns/idm/identity/webservice/spmlservice/SPMLService_SPMLServiceProviderSoapImpl.java" compiledWsdl="target/oracle_ws_spmlv2_wsdl.jar" type="JAXWS">
    <WLHttpTransport contextPath="OIMSPMLWebService" serviceUri="${ear.deployed.name}" portName="SPMLServiceProviderSoap"/>
    </jws>
    </jwsc>
    I have deployed the ear in WLS and generated the client classes.
    <clientgen wsdl="http://${weblogic.host}:${weblogic.port}/OIMSPMLWebService/OIMspmlxsd?WSDL" destDir="${classes.dir}" type="JAXWS"/>
    I run the client using java command from the terminal. First time, it runs fine. I get a valid response. But often, when I run it a second time, I get the following exception ... I need to undeploy and deploy the ear again. Any help will be appreciated!
    Following error appears.
    Error 500--Internal Server Error

    As a workaround I can start the application in debug mode, log into the Weblogic console and stop then restart the deployment and this issue goes away, sort of a pain but it does work.
