Problem in constructing URL from Image file

Hi,
i have a requirement , have to construct a URL object with an absolute image file..
like URL url = new URL("/resources/image1.gif")
url.getpath()
But url is returning null, as it couln't found rela path..
but previously i have using
String realPath = servletContext.getRealPath("/images/stateseal_green.jpg");
it was working, but now i dont have servletContext object..
any suggestions around this problem?

Hi,
Is the root directory /resources relative or abs directory?
It seems you have java application and the resources is on the class path right? so it is relative to the file system.
try the below it may help
ClassLoader cl = null;
          cl = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
          if (cl == null) {
                * No thread context class loader -> use class loader of this class
               cl = GetImageFileOnResourceDirectory.class.getClassLoader();
          InputStream inputStream = (cl
                    .getResourceAsStream("resources/images/image1.gif"));Regards,

  • The value should be set for Base image URL and Image file directory

    Hi experts
    Now customer has the following issue.
    XML Publisher concurrent request, using RTF layout template with LOGO, does not generate the LOGO for Excel output.
    but in output formats PDF, it is shown normally.
    from the debug log, we can found the following error message
    ======
    [051812_054716051][][ERROR] Could not create an image. Set html-image-dir and html-image-base-uri correctly.
    ======
    so I tell the customer to do the following action plan.
    1. in XML Publisher Administrator resp > Administration expand the HTML Output section.
    2a. enter a value for 'Base image URI'
    2b. enter a value for 'Image file directory'
    Customer set the value as following and retest this issue,but he found the issue is not solved.
    Base image URI: /u01/r12/ebssnd/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media/XXSLI_SONY_LIFE_LOGO.gif
    Image file directory: /u01/r12/ebssnd/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media
    I verified 'Base image URI' and 'Image file directory' settings:
    1) Change output type to HTML.
    2) Click the Preview.
    but the image is correctly displayed on HTML, so I think the issue is caused by user's uncorrectly setting of the base image URL and/or image file directory
    but could anyone give me some advice on which value should be set for Base image URL and Image file directory
    Regards
    shuangfei

    First thing to do is to edit the post and use some tags to format the code as it is unreadable and too much!
    Read the FAQ (https://forums.oracle.com/forums/help.jspa) to find out how to do this.
    Next we need to know the jdev version you are using!
    As the code is generated I would first try to generate it again after the db change.

  • Problem using email to upload image files to Mobile Me gallery

    I will cross post this question to both Mail and Mobile Me discussion groups because I don't know where my problem lies.
    I have published a gallery page from iPhoto to my Mobile Me gallery. There are two ways to upload additional photos. I am not having trouble adding image files with the Upload feature. I cannot get the email function to work. The emails I send to the email address for the gallery bounce back to my mail inbox.
    Subject: Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed
    and in the body of the bounced email:

    One of the images I am trying to attach is a jpeg file of 61 kb.
    I have tried to drag the image from my desktop to the body of the email. I have tried using the "attach" function and selecting the file name. I am not sending any text with these files.
    When I built these albums, I checked and enabled all the options.
    I am having this same issue when I try to upload via email to any of my Mobile Me gallery pages.
    There is currently one photo displayed here:
    http://gallery.me.com/tplattenberger#100352
    If anyone wishes to try to upload to that gallery using email (Send to Album) that would be great and if successful, that might provide a clue to my problem.
    As I say, I currently have one photo there. If you find a lot more, please do not add.
    What's the problem?
    Tom

    The images I am trying are newly created and old.
    A weird hint perhaps...
    I just copied an image from Apple's home page and pasted it into the email and tried again...
    it worked.
    So I tried again, dragging from iPhoto and it did not work... the email bounced back.
    So I tried again, this time using copy and paste (like I did from Apple's page) from iPhoto... it did not work.

  • Unusual Bug when creating pdf from image files

    Hi I have a very mindboggling problem which I cant seem to get my head around.
    basically I am trying to create a pdf using a large amount of image files, these images are scans of pages of a book. so I have been trying to create a pdf file from these images, and everytime i try, it all looks ok except for one page which comes up smaller in size than the rest which is a big problem and very unusual. If I change the view of acrobat so that it shows two pages at a time then this is clearly visable where one page is normal and the page next to it is like a third of the size. Ive checked the image file properties for that page and they are more or less the same as the rest, the dimensions of the image file too, but when I add it into a PDF it seems to shrink in size, any ideas as to why? any help would be much appreciated! (and I hope what I said made sense lol )
    Thanks
    Nav

    Hi Davew000
    Can you please tell the steps you are doing to create the PDF ?

  • Problems with the number of image files

    Hi
    I am currently working in Quark and I have a big problem. Quark can't handle my 250 page, 700 image files document. If I try just scrolling through the documents from start to finish Quark crashes, and it doeesn't even create a rescue file. Now in the Quark forums they tell me to split the document into chapters. Chapters are fine if you are working with others on a projects as it lets different people work on different parts of the book at the same time. But this is all me, and I do A LOT of scrolling back and forth to cross check facts and so on. Having to constantly switch between files would be a huge pain. How would ID handle a document of this complexity?
    Sincerely

    But this is all me, and I do A LOT of scrolling back and forth to cross check facts and so on. Having to constantly switch between files would be a huge pain.
    I guess it's a matter of work styles, but I'd much prefer to switch around among a batch of open chapters with a simple key combination, as opposed to scrolling back and forth through pages in linear fashion.
    How would ID handle a document of this complexity?
    With the limited information you've offered, I'd say I have experience with similar documents, (product catalogs/pricelists), that ID handled just fine, and other cases in which seemingly simple files choked it. I can say the same of Quark. No one can answer your question definitively; there are too many variables. Chances are it's not (only) the size and complexity of your document in itself that are causing your problems. There can be any number of hardware or OS issues contributing, to name a couple.

  • Setting background from image file in NetBeans

    Hello,
    recently I started to use NetBeans to create my applications and I found a little problem - I don't know how to set background in JPanel from a image file (*.bmp, *.jpg, etc.) without writing my own code. I found how to use ImageIcon, but cannot deal with setting background. Anyone know a solution?

    The code that you have to write is a custom JPanel (extend it) and in the paintComponent() method you draw the image you want as a background.
    public void paintComponent(Graphics g)
    super.paintComponent(g);
    g.drawImage(img, 0, 0, null);
    }Where 'img' is an object of type Image (such as a BufferedImage).

    Have you tried pulling the schema out of the wsdl and putting it in a xsd file and see if it validates?
    Otherwise, have you tried removing the xmlns:"" from <WL5G3N0:definitions xmlns:"".

  • Pdftotext extracting from image files mystery

    hello all, just had a bit of a shock when I ran pdftotext (accidentally) on an unocr'd pdf file, and it extracted all the text. Running pdftohtml (as I'd intended) produced the expected output - i.e. png dumps. Curious, I then tried running it on a bunch of other downloaded files, and with the exception of one, pdftotext extracted the text from ALL of them. The mystery then is that it isnt using any ocr (no tesseract dependency, plus it's way too quick), so clearly it must be pulling it directly from the files. But if the text really is there in the original, then presumably the people who scanned them didn't know, else they'd have left it there. The only thing I can think is that some common piece of pdf software (probably acrobat) has ocr built in, so it's scanning them automatically and then encoding the hidden text in the pdf.
    take for example (legal):
    http://www.cd3wd.com/cd3wd_40/JF/JF_VE/SMALL/27-714.pdf
    open up in a normal pdfreader - very clearly a (poorly) scanned document. Now run 'pdftotext -layout'  on it and you get a pretty impressive text file, considering the source. Sure, some of the formatting is messed up, but I'm sure anyone with sed knowledge could quickly sort most of that out. Besides, that's one of the worst documents -  on most others it was perfect, maintaining columns (even tesseract can't do that) and everything.
    It makes for a fantastic command line pdf reader that works on almost all the files I've thrown at it, and since pdf's are almost the only reason I ever have to load up X, consider me tickled pink.
    Just thought I'd mention it here, as a google search brings up nothing on the issue. hope someone finds it useful

    Yes, Adobe Acrobat has a feature that allows you OCR the text and insert the text as a separate layer behind the image. Such PDFs are called "Searchable image PDFs". There are no doubt some other commercial software options that can do this too. The copier/scanner/multifunction device in my office actually does this automatically when you scan in a text PDF.
    Theoretically, it is even possible to create PDFs like this using free software on linux (a combination of ExactImage and Cuneiform; or WatchOCR).
    See, e.g., this blog post:
    Searchable PDFs with linux
    and this slashdot story:
    Open Source OCR that makes Searchable PDFs
    My own experiments with trying to get something like this to work have not been very successful--at least the quality of the result is nowhere near what I'm getting with our work printer.
    If you like pdftohtml, you should also know about pdfreflow, which takes the XML output of pdftohtml with the -xml flag and creates an html file that can be reflowed (I.e., is smart about paragraph breaks, removes page numbers and recombines words broken through hyphenation and so on).

  • Reading metadata to - from image files

    I am using Creative Suite CS4.  In CS3 I created two custom XMP metadata pages that I used to add information to RAW, TIF, PSD files.  The resulting custom panel could be seen and used in Bridge and Extensis Portfolio.  In CS4 that all changed.  I can create the GUI part of the panel using Flex Builder 3.
    My questions are 1) How do you get the controls to work (combo boxes with fixed lists, fields for text data and a note field), 2) how do I get the data from the image file, have it update when a field changes, read it back to the image file when closed, and 3) how do I get it to work in Bridge CS4 properly and also be readable to Extensis Portfolio.
    I have attached the CS3 files that were used to create the panels in CS3.

    I Don't know whyyyyyyyyy This seems to indicate that your app is finding the mp3 file. You would probably get a null pointer exception if the file wasn't found. Something else seems to be going on.
    -How are you launching the jar outside of NetBeans?...By Double Click On It
    I suggest trying to launch the jar using the command promptjava   -cp   YourJarFile.jar  YourMainClassAnd if that works, try java   -jar   YourJarFile.jarAnd if that works, your computer's file association is not set up correctly.

  • Unable to create cd from Image file

    I downloaded the Solaris 8 for Intel, unzipped the files. I have been unsuccessful creating an image file for the file sol-8-1_01-fcs-bin-ia-v1. I have tried various CD writing applications.
    I was able to create images from the other files.
    Thanks

    You are not supposed to create an image file from the unzipped data. These unzipped files are image
    files! You just have to rename them using the proper file extension so that your CD-R burning software
    recognizes them as cd image files. (common extension are .ISO or .RAW; check with your CD recording
    software)

    Hey, I tried doing that. It still just gave the values 0.00 in all the cells of the indicator array. Plus my file has string in it also. The data type in the spreadsheet was "general". Here in the tool, it is "Double". I changed the tool data type to string and spreadsheet to text but I only got gibbrish for my efforts.
    Thanks anyway!

CSV file contains two colums Mat No, Mat Name and are separated by comma and similarly Mat Name is attribute of Mat No in info object. I am doing all steps by following the book but whenever I load data into info object it is loaded in one column. I mean both Mat no and Mat name apears in Mat No column whereas Mat Name column appears empty in info object. I have changed exel file into .csv. Any one can help me sort it out.
    regards

    Hi,
    your flatfile should be in the form of csv ie it does not mean that in a word u seperate it with coma
    create an excel file and say save as in teh file name give the name of your flatfile and in the save as type select CSV(comma delimited) from the drop down list
    and then in this file enter the data as u fill in excel sheet.
    After closing the file right click it and say open with wordpad then the data should appear seperated with a comma.
    Try this and then revert back in case of any doubts.........
    Are u loading data into BI 7.0 or 3.x
    Regards
