Problem in creating iview template in EP7.0

Hi,
I getting the below message even after creating the iview template in EP7.0
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
Created through:
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR file)" <next> --> seleting "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap" <next> --> webdynpro <next> --> finish.
Open object for editing...--> Object is a Template to Yes.
Result :
content Admin --> portal content --> <folder>new --> iview --> seleting "iview template- create an iView from an existing iView template" <next> which displays the same message.
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."

Hi,
do have the right permissions? You can check this using the Permission Editor (Applications, PCD)
What role are you assigned to? Content Administrator? System Administrator or even Super Administrator?
Doesthe same error occur when you're logged in as Super Administrator?

Hi,
In Enterprise Portal Page I am not able to create iview. Previously it worked fine, if I right clicked folder under portal content it would show following options like New,New from PAR,open,refresh, change id, delete , copy and cut but now its shows following options like open,open in new window, Save target , Print target, cut ,copy , shortcut and properties.
Can anyone tell what can be the problem?

I Uninstalled and reinstalled the IE Even i am facing same error. In bottom of IE message is like icon followed by "done but with errors on page" if i double clicked that pop up box showing Error

Problem in creating iview programmatically

Dear EP friends,
I am trying to create an iView programmatically following the EP help doc.
At the code below
IiViews iViewSrv =(IiViews) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IiViews.KEY);
i am getting errror recorded at log as
com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.PortalComponentException: Error in service call of Portal Component
com.sapportals.portal.prt.core.PortalRequestManager.handlePortalComponentException(PortalRequestManager.java:969)
what would be the problem,
i included the required jar i.e. com.sap.portal.ivs.api_iview_api.jar
any idea ??

Hi Lakshmikantha,
I have seen some implementations that, instead of taking the current user, your component would get a reference t the PCD "service user" and use this user when doing the PCD lookup. This user has access to entire PCD.
The code to get this user is the following:

You should read the PCD Javadocs, which has some more info (and slightly different method for getting the service user).
NOTE: For many, this is a major security hole.

I encountered a problem while creating URL iview (in EP7.0) as when I selected the iview template for creating the URL iview, the content area got displayed as

Problem in creating New masthead iView

Hi,
I am trying to create a new Masthead iView from the par "com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead". I have opened the PAR in Developer studio with different name say "NewMasthead". I didnt change anything in the PAR and deployed the "NewMasthead" PAR.
Then i have created a new iView from the deployed PAR .I have selected the "default" component present it.
The problem is when i preview the iView it shows the Portal runtime error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
com.sapportals.portal.navigation.HeaderiView.
Exception id: 05:32_24/05/06_0179_38431050
See the details for the exception ID in the log file

Hi,
I have downloaded com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead. i renamed project as MyMasthead.par after importing it in NWDS and the deployed the .par file. Now I want to create a masthead iview for this newly deployed .par file.
What type of iview should I select and how will I select MyMasthead.par for this Iview. I mean should I go for a iview template or webdynpro iview or portal component iview and then where will I select the Mymasthead.par .
Please give me the detailed steps for creating the iview for masthead from newly deployed par file..

Unable to create iView from template

Hi,
I'm unable to create new iView from a template
If I try to create a new iView I get no selection of iView templates.
The step 1 of Template selection shows the message:
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
I have the super_admin role but I cant see any tempates.
I checked the template folder in PCD and found my role has access to it and to the templates objects.
I have searched for an OSS but no luck.
Does anybody know a solution for this problem.
Were on NW2004s SP14

Hi,
The reason for this is in-sufficient permissions to the user on the applications folder.You can resolve this by navigating to :
System Administration -> Permissions -> Applications , right click on the folder and open permissions. Then assign the content_admin_role to this folder.
The issue will be resolved.

Problem of creating workbook with permanent template?

Hi all,
Iam facing some problem while creating the workbook with permanent template.Let me expalin in detail.
I have created 3 queries (ex:Stock) and i have to insert these in one workbook with permanent template.I had selected the the permanent template option in settings also.iam able to insert the 3 queris and iam not getting the permanent tempalate.which is mandatory.
I tried saving the existing workbook with same tempalate and removed the query and tried to insert the queries but iam getting abbort system error in program
Pls help me out of this issue.

Hi Joe,
We've seen this error when using express VI's inside of template VI's which are loaded using VI server. Are you doing that? If yes, then take all the express VIs that are inside the template VI and turn them into static subVIs.
I don't know if it will help in your case, but let's try it.

Problem in creating new communication channel template in IR

Hi experts,
I currently have problems with creating new communication channel template in Integration Repository. If I choose the New-Context (Adapter Objects-->Communication Channel Template) the dialog "CREATE OBJECT" is shown. After I have inserted the Name of my template I push the create button.
Then the following error occurs:
STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED).
So can anybody help me. Thanks for your help.

            This is genral problem appearing in PI 7.0 with SP12.
            Previously, i have the same problem.
            i.e STOP: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode
DETAILS: Internal error: Object cannot be changed in display mode(CANT_SET_MODIFIED)
            Regarding this we raise an OSS note SAP people.
            they gave the suggestion that update with SP13.
          i discuss with basis team and install the SP13.
           now the problem is solved, i can able to create the Communication Channel Template.

Problem while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView

I am creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from iView Template.
The SAP Web Dynpro System Object is being created. The System Alias is also being created.
The Test Connection is successful with Portal Server.
Now, while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from Template in Step 4:
I am not getting my System while an old system which is being deleted is being displayed.
Name of my System Object is: WD_System and System alias is: WD_Alias.
The Step name is:
Step 4: Application Parameter
Enter the paramater(s) of the application for which you want to create the iView

User Administration-> User Mapping-> Logon Data(Select a Principal) (System Alias).
The System is successfully built under System Amininstration->System Configuration->System Landscape->Portal Content->kaushikb named WD_System and System Alias is named as: WebDynpro_alias.
The Test Connection is successful.
I am displaying the result below:

7. The WAS ping service http://kolapon:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the WAS, you can try to call the ping service manually.

Basic problem creating a template Functions not found

I'm trying to create a template with addt functionality
I have created a file which works OK.
Then covert it to a template with an editable area.
Create a new php file using the template
All seems to work Ok
But I always get the following error when executing the new page
File not found:
KT_functions.inc.php
Please upload the includes/ folder to the testing server.
I know the includes file is there and OK because the original php file worked OK
Can anyone help with this problem please?
I've checked the include statement e.g.
// Require the MXI classes
require_once ('../includes/mxi/MXI.php');
// Load the tNG classes
require_once('../includes/tng/tNG.inc.php');

Portal Runtime Error occurred when trying to create iView using template.

Hi,
When I tried to create an iView by Content Management through "Existing iView Templates", the Portal runtime error occurred.
(However, when I tried to create an iView through "Deployed Portal Archive" or "Web Dynpro Java Application", it was successful)

Unable to find Par file while creating iview in the template

Hi All,
Iam trying to change the Masthead iview, i deployed in NWDS and successfull. but while creating iView in the portal i could find the par file in the template.
And when iam creating sample Portal application it is visible in template.
Setting in the NWDS are correct. Can any one suggest what is happening here.

Hi DV,
don't try to create an iView from template, but one from par. In the list you'll find your project name and within the project - voila: your portal application.

Problem with creating order through order template

Hi experts,
We have problem with creating order by order template. Extensions data available in order template is not sent to order. Extension data are showing upto order submission form. But after sucessful creation of order extension data are no longer available in CRM-ORDEr.
We are using ISA 4.0 with CRM 4.0.
We recently applied patches on CRM server. Before patching it was working fine.
Can you please suggest us to solve this issue?

Problem in Creating Source Files (Templates) for Original Application Files

Dear Friends,
I am trying to ccreate "Source Files (Templates) for Original Application Files" . I checked the link

I created a new DOc. type TMP with no statuses, checked in KPO, assigned no. ranges.
Created DIR & assigned the template file, checked into storage category. DIR no. 10000000390 created.
In Workstation application "DOX" in define templates for originals : doc. type: ZGA, application: DOX; language- EN; no - 01; In source doc- entered doc. type- TMP, doc. no.- 10000000390, part & version
Assigned for required source file copy" ZGA doc. type. -- Default Appl. as "DOX" workstation application.
Now created a DIR with ZGA doc. type, when clicking on originals , DOX prompted and clicking on "create with template" . TMP doc. 10000000390 template open in a new window. I edited & saved. close the MS word window. When comes to DIR, it prompted, Original was changed Do you want to save the original?.
clicked on yes.
Saved the ZGA DIR. When I saw the new ZGA DIR created it didn't capture. Where I went wrong ?

Following messages if you read, it may be clear.
By having templates in place we can utilize the pre-defined documents instead creating right from scratch.
Entries can be done in the Template and save the document.
Templates are used for standardization and uniformity. By using templates time consumption for creation of documents will reduce as most of the details are maintained in the master template and the same can be utilize by using the template when creating documents.
If in DMS editing functionality is not there what is the use of templates- documentation?

Problem in creating template for the accounting transactions

suppose for making an entry through fb50 we have to enter g/l a/c no. in that particular field but if some one does not want his end user to make an entry to this field other than putting an entry through his end user he wants system to take the required g/l a/c by default is it possible by creating template for that particular postings? if yes how to generate the template? i have tried to make a template through the recurring entries but not succeeded in that , so please help me.

You can create a template with a particular account code string from within FB50.
Make sure you have the tree turned on (Tree On/ Tree Off button toggles display).
Once you have entered the standard coding, right click on the Account Assignment Template folder to get a popup menu. Select "Save Account Assignment Template". A dialog box will ask you to name the template.
You can then instruct users to use this template to record this type of transaction.
However, this does not prevent the user from doing direct entry or changing account code strings. If you have a situation where for a particular combination of accounting elements, whether header or detail, for which the GL should always be a particular value, you can create a substitution rule in IMG which will automatically populate the GL field with the specific GL account value. The IMG transaction is OBBH.
