Problem in displaying currency field

Hi folks,
           We are displaying amounts in one smartform. Amount format should be as '$2,000.00'. we changed it into character variable and concatenated with the dollar symbol. Its wroking fine. But, as it is a character variable, the commas in the middle of the amount is not displaying.But we need it also....Could any body suggest me to accomplish it...

HI,
While assigning the data from a currency variable to character variable use MOVE statement.
Move l_curr to l_char_curr.
Concatenate '$' l_char_curr into l_char_curr separated by ' '.

so sorry, but you have to use some of the objects you do not want to:
Currency values in ABAP are stored in currency fields (type CURR). If they are stored in structures or database, every CURR field must be connected to a CUKY field (currency key).
Displaying data using WRITE statement four output on a list is obsolete technique, you may use the use WRITE with the option CURRENCY c to format according to currency c in table TCURX.
SAP recommends to use ALV technique. If you use ALV to display structure data, then create a dictionary structure with currency value and currency key. The rest goes automatically.
Believe me: It is much easier and more reliable.

I done enhancment in Infotype 23 for Last Salary drawn as currency field and ref type as PA0015 WAERS in Ad Hoc Query. But I am not able to display the same field with value. Its always shows me blank. Is there any settings to be done to display currency field in ad hoc query?? Pl. help me as this is very urgent.

Problem in displaying a field in webdynpro using Adaptive RFC model

I created a webdynpro application using adaptive RFC model and i have a problem in displaying one of the output fields.
When i execute the function module it is giving the exact value for my output field in this case telephone number (of type STEXT which is char with length 40).But when i am trying to display that telephone number in webdynpro application it is taking only first 4 digits.
i deleted the model and recreated it still it doesnot work.
please let me know how to resolve it.

Hi Bala,
Whenever you reimport the model server restart is necessary otherwise the changes will not get reflected. You will get an error when you deploy the application.There is no go around except restarting the server as the meta data gets cached in the server as long as the server is runnig.So, Once you restart the server the cache will be cleared.
Check once again whether you are fetching data from correct BAPI field. Still problem persist try debugging.

Question of possible problem with "display as" field in MS Outlook contact

Are you aware of any problems with an apparent shift of the display as field in MS Outlook contacts after the initial syncing with their iPhone? When preparing to send an e-mail in Outlook, the auto populating of the "display as" field is now linked to incorrect contacts. Therefore, one could unknowingly send an e-mail to the wrong recipient. After seeing this error, it appears that many of my "display as" fields have shifted among contacts within my Outlook contacts. This appears to have happened right around the first time I synced my iPhone. It could be completely unrelated to the iPhone syncing but I am curious if other iPhone / MS Outlook users have experienced similar problems.

There should be no leeway or movement. Return the phone to where you bought it and show them. It should be covered under warranty unless they determine it was dropped or accidental damage.

Problem in using Currency Field in EXTRACTOR

I have a requirement to create Extractor involving some fields from a Ztable.
While creating extractor (data source) in RSO2 transaction, when i enter the Z table name in "Extraction from DB view - View/Table" and click on SAVE, i get an error msg " Invalid extract structure template ZTABLE of DataSource Zextractor".
But if i remove the only currency field in the ztable and then try using the ztable for extractor, its working fine. I dunno why? but i need the currency field in the extractor. Kindly let me know how to deal with this issue. Sure points for useful answers.

for currency fields and decimal fields u should provide reference for them. give currency field in fields section -> click on refernce -> give
currency field name table name refernce key name table name -> save n activate.

Problem with a Currency field in Adhoc Query - HR

Hi,
I have an Adhoc query that uses Custom infotype fields (Z infotype and z fields).
The currncy field also has a reference field in the infotype (of type waers).
Wehen we try to get the ouput of the Adhoc Query it gives following error:
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
I have already tried a number of solutions:
1> Regenerate the infoset...
2> make the field as an additional field and write my own code for it (the error comes before the code as i kept a breakpoint but it stopped before that)
if i add other fields of this infoset instead of this field, then those appear in the output.
Any solutions ??

Problem with displaying same field in three columns

I am using reports developer 11g and I have created a report which displays only one field (column), which is id_number as output but I have a problem now.
I would like to display the id_number in three columns on one page to save paper, that is, I want to show the first 20 (1 - 20) id_numbers in one column going down, then display the next 20 id_numbers (21 - 40) on the second column on the same page and the next 20 (41 - 60) on the third column still on the same page. If there are more than 60 id_numbers, they should be printed on the next page again in three columns, and so on until all the id_numbers are displayed. How can I achieve this? Could you please assist me?

Andreas, I think I am missing something here. I have done what you have said but still the id_numbers are all being displayed
in the first column and jumps on to the next page without displaying the id_numbers across the page in columns.
My data model contains a group with not only the id_number but has other fields which I am not displaying.
I am only using the other fields just to use them in conditions to select only id_numbers which meet a certain criteria which I then display in the report.
I have created a repeating frame for that group and changed the orientation property to Down/Across. Within that frame, I have a field for the id_number
which I want displayed in three columns, running across the page as I have already told you. Please help.

My question is if the problem are reffered to PIPE configuration problems or BW master data downloading ?
I didnu2019t find this field anywhere in /POSDW/img. Maybe this is BW master data problem?
But I am confused the phrase u201CCustomizing for the master data checksu201D . Is it still the PIPE cutomizing problem?
Where is the "Customizing for the master data checks"? What does it mean?

Problem with displaying Date field in the table.

Hi All,
I am trying to display data into a table UI Element.
In that data, i have one DATE type field. While displaying data in DATE field, it will display like this "01.02.2009".
Now my requirement is if i want to modify that DATE field, it will allow to modify "01.02.2009" to "26.02.2009".
But while modifying DATE field , I want to show the Calender of that month, in that i have to select the another date.
(Like normal Date UI Element will show that calender).
Can anyone please help me.

Problem with non currency field calculations to become curr

Hi guys,
Is there a problem if I have a QUAN field and DEC field forming to become a CURR field? I mean a have this computation below:
v_var1 = v_var2 * v_var3.
where v_var1 type QUAN, v_var2 type DEC and v_var3 type CURR...
would it incur any problem with the calculations?

Worked for me flawlessly
tables bseg.
parameters : qty like bseg-menge,
amt like bseg-dmbtr.
data : result like bseg-dmbtr.
result = qty * amt.
write result.
The only issue is that the result will be rounded upto 2 decimals.
But if you declare result as
data : result(13) type p decimals 3.
Then there will be no issues.

Problem with the currency fields in the table cdpos

Hi Gurus,
 I have observed one thing with the cdpos table like whenever we made changes to the currecy( and numeric fields also ,i am not sure ) fields ,then in the cdpos table it is showing a new entry for that change but not showing that old value, why? .But when we made any changes to date fields ,then it is storing that old date.
So Is there any specific feature in this table.

Problem in converting currency field.......

In my database the Amount field has a lenght of 6 N.
I need the output of the format in the below example
Examples:
1.If the Amount is 150 in databse I need the output as 015000
2.If the Amount is 25.50 in databse I need the output as 002500
Could you please help me what function should I use to the output as required.
