Problem in GUI_DOWNLOAD Function.

Hello Friends.
I am trying to do is to download data in a file from a BAPI
structure and make a flat file with this format and
then try to upload the same data in different client
via LSMW.
What happens is that I get the download of the file
contents but the spacing of the characters have
shifted and so when I run the same file in LSMW the
values of the fields do not appear consistent.
Ours is a unicode system ecc 6.0 and when i go in
debugger I see the values in consistent format but
when it comes to download it changes .
kindly please suggest something.
I also tried to write the file directly with open
dataset for output but in that also I get an error
regarding encoding.

You Con't download into flat file with comma separater with Gui_download function module ( by field separator = 'x' also), but you can with some logic
Use this logic:
1. Take one internal table with one field like
Data:
begin of itab occurs 0,
line(255),
end of itab.
2. Concatinate your fields with camma separater and asign to itab and append it ( it is in loop at your table)
3. download itab now by using gui_download

Problem in GUI_DOWNLOAD in Binary format

Hi All,
We have upgraded from 4.6C to ECC6.0.
When I use GUI_DOWNLOAD function module in binary (BIN) mode with the filename without any extension, the data will be downloaded with the SPACE inbetween charecters.
EX: We have data 'bangalore is garden city' to be downloaded, the data after downloading will apear as 'b a n g a l o r e i s g a r d e n c i t y '.
Kindly provide input to solve the issue

Issue with gui_download function module

 I have an issue with gui_download function module that it is creating one extra line while downloading my internal table data into text file,which i donot want.i have searched for various threads but couldnot get the proper reply.Or please provide me some other Function Module which will not create one extra line.Please help.

for downloading the file on application sever you use the concept of Dataset. GUI_DOWNLOAD is for presentaion server.

Problem with Gui_download using ASC File type - japanese characters

Hi,
During upgrade,while downloading data for japanese characters using GUI_DOWNLOAD Function module with file type as 'ASC', the space between 2 fields data getting much wider compared to 4.6C Version ws_download Function module's data.
Example: the gap between first field data and second field data in ECC 6.0 is 6 characters length,but in 4.6C it is 2 characters length.
Is there any possibility to get the results similar to 4.6c version.Please give your valueable suggestions.

1.Internal table content before download:During Debugging,it was observed that internal table content was same in both versions.For testing,i used only brand new data(Transaction entry).
2.Download with code Page conversion:Yes,codepage parameter 4103 was explicitly passed into GUI_DOWNLOAD Function module.Also the front end code page which is used by system is 4110 . No errors occured.
3.System is an Unicode system only.
4.Actually this 6 character does not refer the byte value,only the gap between 2 fields data is getting referred in ECC 6.0.Please find the below example.
Example - File data after Download:
ECC 6.0: Field1            Field2      (gap - 6 characters space between 2 fields data) Using GUI_Download

     4.6C: Field1            Field2       (gap - 2 characters space between 2 fields data) Using WS_Download

Problem with GUI_DOWNLOAD XLS File

Hi Experts,
I have used GUI_DOWNLOAD function to download my internal tables in .xls file in local system. I have used 'ASC' as file type.
File has been successfully created as .xls. But when you open that file in our local system and update some entries and try to save it, but it has not saving and its giving error. I am not able to update/change that file.
Is there any other FM which I will use to download a .xls file perfectly...

Problem with gui_download

Hi,
in my gui_download function I'm passing the 'ASC' value to the parameter filetype but, once I go to the txt file downladed and I try to save it as a csv file I realise that it's of type UTF-8 and not an ASCII type.

To save .txt file in .csv format. Follow the below mentioned ways , Hope will help you to solve .....
1) There are different ways in creating a CSV file. The RIGHT way is to use the function SAP_CONVERT_TO_CSV_FORMAT. You can just go through the FM. To complete, for every convert fuction there is an equal and opposite convert function, TEXT_CONVERT_CSV_TO_SAP.

How to optimize GUI_DOWNLOAD function I am using...

I have got 54 internal tables populated at the end of the report.
I am using GUI_DOWNLOAD Function to download the data in flat files each corresponding to one internal table.
Now in GUI_DOWNLOAD Function, I know I have to mention name of file and name of table as follows:

Now I do not want to code GUI_DOWNLOAD 54 times since there are 54 internal tables and I have to mention the name of table always in DAT_TAB parameter.
How can I achieve this ?

 using folder

You have to declare the table using any specific type.
The type table in the FM is generic so you can pass any type you need.
For instance:

Error thread java : problem with the function "resume 0x***" (forum sun)

One problem with the function of jdb occured when I tried to use it to
pilot the processor with differents threads. In fact, I use a simple example with 2 threads.
I stop the two threads with two breakpoint, and I want to resume one or the other (with the function "resume 0x****"), the one wich I resumed stop again on the breackpoint and I decide again to resume one or the other. All of that to obtain a tree of execution.

I have read the FAQ of the JMF.
The problem was the jar files of the JMF were not in the JRE\BIN\EXT
folder of the Java runtime!

Problem using LIKE function

Hi Guyz,
I am having small problem using LIKE function . The problem is I am using LIKE function in the WHERE clause
to compare a column to a particular value, which gets this value from the front end. If the user has a single quote in the string he entered then the LIKE function is not working because of the single quote. Is there any way I can escape the single quote like we escape '%' and '_'.

Mod_plsql supports bind variables, as do almost all front-end tools that deal with Oracle (and most other databases). I do not code mod pl/sql myself, but others here do, and I see bind variables in their code all the time (if I don't, they hear from me :-)).
If you pass a bind variable, the quote problem goes away. As far as I know (which is not very far), you should be able to take the string with the quote directly from your input field, bind it to the variable in your query and have no problems.
I suspect that the reson you are having issues is that you are just gluing strings together to create a sql statement. this is the wrong approach.
The java term for what you are looking for is prepared statement, I'm not sure what the equivalent is i mod plsql, but that should give you a start.
