Problem in hiding MessageStyledTextBean -- request for a quick response

Hi,
I am trying to hide a field that is of type MessageStyledText in CO using setRendered.
I have got the id through page (XML). But, the CO is not able to identify that Id which is being given. The page has only field with the same prompt and type, so there is no mistake in the identification of the Id.
Because of the above, I tried to hide that field using personalization. But when I changed the value to false for rendered property at site level, it throws below error:
Setting rendered to false may hide this item and its children.
The application may be inoperable if this item or any of its children is required.
Hiding the result area of a query region will cause an error.
This is not a query region basically, its only a defaultdoublecolumn region.
Is there a solution to come out of this?

In personalization you are setting the render property of some parent bean that why it is giving some warning.
If you are able to get the id of the MessageStyleTextBean then you can hide very simply or even through personalization.
Sample Code which can be used in ProcessRequest Method of Controller
MessageStyleTextBean bean = (MessageStyleTextBean )webBean.findChildRecursive("OAMessageStyleTextBeanID");
bean.setRendered(false);

Hoping for a quick response : EXP and Archived REDO log files

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered 100 times. I admit I didn't search, I don't have time. I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow, and I need to know if I'm correct about something to do with backup / restore.
we have 10g R2 running a single instance on a single server. The application vendor has "embedded" oracle with their application. The vendor's backup is a batch file using EXP - thus:
exp system/xpwdxx@db full=y file=D:\Orant\admin\db\EXP\db_full.dmp log=D:\Orant\admin\db\EXP\db_full.txt direct=y compress=y
This command is executed nightly at midnight. The files are then backed up by our nightly backup to offsite storage media.
Te database is running in autoarchive mode. The problem is, the archived redo files filled the drive they were being stored on, and it is the drive the database is on. I used OS commands to move 136G of archived redo logs onto other storage media to free the drive.
My question: Since the EXP runs at midnight, when there is likely NO activity, do I need to run in AutoArchive Mode? From what I have read, you cannot even apply archived redo log files to this type of backup strategy (IMP) Is that true? We are ok losing changes since our last EXP. I have read a lot of stuff about restoring consistent vs. inconsistent, and just need to know: If my disk fails, and I have to start with a clean install of Oracle and nothing else, can I IMP this EXP and get back up and running as of the last EXP? Or do I need the autoarchived redo log files back to July 2009 (136G of them).

BruceThe dump file is probably ok in the sense it is not corrupted and can be used in an imp operation. That doesn't mean the data in it is transactionally consistent. And to use it at all, you have to have a database up and running. If the database is physically corrupted, you'll have to rebuild a new database from scratch before you can even think about using your dmp file.
Vendors never understand databases. I once had a vendor tell me that Oracle's performance would be intolerable if there were more than 5 concurrent connections. Well, maybe in HIS product ..... Discussions terminated quickly after he made that statement.

Transport request for BW queries and roles.

Hi All,
we need to craete 20 bw queries on 4 multiproviders. We need to save 18 queries as workbooks in one role and the other 2 queries in other role. Both the roles and queries does not exist and will be created in Developement environment.
We just want to know how we can transport them in the quality environment. What is the right method to transport them.
Can we transport all the object queries, workbooks and roles in number of transport requests so that if few queries or workbooks needs any changes then we do not have to transport all objects just the request which includes the changed objects.

Thanks a lot for all of you for your quick response. But i still have questions.
If we create one transport for roles and one transport for each query then we will be having 21 transport requests. But the transport request on same multiprovider can lock the clacuated key figures and restricted key figures, if they are present in more than one query, it means they will be present in more than one transport requests, so they can be locked and trasport request will be failed.
If i just create one transport request for all the objects roles, quaries & workbooks it will not loack any object, and transport request will not fail. But i have to transport all the objects again if i need to change one of the queries.
Please let me know if there is a method that i can divide my queries as per multiprovider and can create transport requests as per multiprovider so that we can not lock calculated keyfigures and restricted key figures. Is workbooks can be published in the role in the same transport request. If it is and if in more than one transport request we are publishing the different workbooks to the same role, will it lock the role.

Repeated requests for MSN email PW

Hello.
Every 2-4 days I get the request detailed below to reenter my MSN email PW. I dutifully fill in the PW, check the "save in keychain" box and resubmit. All is good for 2-4 days when the message repeats.
Note that when accessing my MSN email from other devices (iPhone, IBM laptop) I encounter no issues.
Any suggestions for a permanent fix? Thank you.

Thank you for the quick response, but I was unable to find anything usefull at the MS for Mac site. Let me clarify that I am using Apple Mail to access my MSN account - not Outlook or Entourage.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any such functionality at present. I am also exploring the same option and have a SR running with oracle. Shall update you if I hear otherwise.

I have problem with permissions. After login I see a white screen instead of request for permission. The desktop application does not have a problem with it. When I log for the first time to the desktop application and I will give the permissions applications, then in the mobile application everything works fine. But this is not a good solution. And so please help.

The labelField of IconItemRenderer only supports single line text. Try using the messageField instead:

I had this issue once and had hard time to figure out from where it was coming!
In fact, check the free space on your SAP Server hard disk (or ask admin guys). It might be that there is no more hard disk! Because every time you generate a form, it is stored on your server harddisk. You need to flush all that temp stuff regularly.

Make use of the FM "F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST" for the value request for the first field.
Use the "FIELD_MAPPING" in the tables parameter of the above FM.
Please go through the FM documentation.

Repeated requests for user name and password

I am suddenly getting repeating requests to provide my user name and password but the requesting screen already has this information filled in. Each time I press OK the request returns. Is this a server problem?

A quick look through this board will reveal that this has been an intermittent problem with BT Yahoo! for ages and is one of the reasons are moving to a new BT Mail (which itself has stalled because of problems). Meanwhile, logging in direct to webmail then out again has been known to overcome the password issue.

Threads: Moving the guy around
Threads: Making him shoot a ball at the mouses position
Network: Allow others to join/play game (This is gonna be HUGE probably), while host decides on game type.

Where does moving ever get started? Why does Move extend Thread instead of implementing Runnable? (Implementing runnable is preferred and often the correct way to do it and it is in this case)
But regardless there shoud be a moving.start() somewhere or start of the Thread that has the Runnable target Move.... I don't think I see one. Unless I missed it.
so...itll work if i change the setup to Runnable?
