Problem in tiff file Printing

hello,
I am trying to print tiff image using JAI(Java advanced imaging). I am able to perform all the required operations for that including zoom in, zoom out etc. But I am facing problems while printing the same. These files I am getting from the byte stream or byte array (Data being recieved using TCP/IP). I am able to print using one of the code samples available on the net.
http://www.geocities.com/larryhr/samplecode/samplecode.html
File: JAIImagePrint.java
Only modifications i made in the code provided is, I have scaled the image.
Now I am facing 2 problems:
1) I want to set minimal margins from all the sides of page on which I am printing. (A4 size) So it should print on almost complete page.
2) The images are of varying sizes. So whenever I print, I get it of different sizes.
It would be really nice if someone help me resolving this problem.
I need it very urgently.
Thx in advance,
Nitin Mishra.

Dear BK,
For print out PO, our system just using the sapscript only. How can i check it?
Dear GK,
The message status in ME22N / ME23N are green light which means that is completed, right?
Please kindly give more advise on it.
Regards,
Luke

  • Problems saving .tiff file

I am trying to save a .psd to a .tiff file. My .psd has a couple layers and a drop shadow effect. When I save the file seems to be fine until i veiw it in any Windows or Microsoft view, thumbnail view or application such as word, it looks squeezed and totally washed out of colour and almost transparant? I have saved like this before and never encountered this problem. It seems to appear properly when opened in InDesign, Photoshop. I use these photos to send to other people who will be viewing them and using them in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, so I'm concerned that it won't open properly for them.
I am using Photoshop CS and Microsoft Windows Windows XP Professionl Version 2002 Service Pack 3. Any suggestions to what might be happening or what I might be doing wrong? help I have a deadline!
    Thanks, Roni

Roni, Powerpoint and some othe MS programs will open a TIFF but they usually only see one layer. Those programs are not designed to handle multiple layers or opacity, or adjustment layers. These all contain prorpietary format that al of the applications in the Adobe Suite can handle, but MS apps can not.
What you can do is place a composite layer as the top layer and save the file.

  • Problem displaying tiff files using ADF

    Hi,
I have some TIFF files in a table - IMAGE_TABLE
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(40)
    IMAGE ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE
I am unable to display TIFF images in an ADF form. I can use processCopy to convert the TIFF images to jpeg, which them display correctly. All other JPEG or GIF display correctly, it's only the TIFF that don't. I've tried variours tiff files (different sources, converted gif and jpeg to tiff) but none display correctly (i.e. in IE you get the red 'x' - in firefox you get the broken picture symbol or nothing)?
This appears to be an ADF issue as I 'can' dsiplay the TIFF files correctly in IE and firefox using the quicktime plugin but not from an ADF form using JDdevloper? (The code/application is Steve Muench's JSFOrdImageExample - http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jsfordimage/JSFOrdImageExample.zip)
Any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
yes, I can view tiff's in browsers (IE and firefox) using the quicktime plugin. I've selected quicktime as the player in the af:objectmedia property settings and Autostart = true, but using the ADF form from JDeveloper will not display tiff images (jpg's, giff's etc. are fine) even though the browser will display tiff's on it's own?
    Thanks.

  • Preview not compressing tiff files?

    Hi there,
Is anyone else having problems compressing tiff files with Preview? If I open a file with no compression, and export it to a file with LZW compression, I get no reduction in file size. The files have lots of white space, and typically I would expect a 90% reduction in size.
    Thanks

Misunderstood your question. There are some pdf files that Preview cannot handle. I suggest you send a feedback request:

Even though I have checked "Automatically open all supported TIFF's" in Camera RAw Preferences - My tiff files do not open up in camera RAW. How can I correct the problem?

What kind of TIFFs?  Are they multi-layered, for instance?  ACR will not open layered files.

  • Tiff files with Alpha Channels do not display or print correctly...

I have Tiff files that have been edited in Photoshop that do not display correctly. As far as I can tell this is caused by the existence of Alpha channels in the channels panel in PS. When the files are imported to Aperture, they only display information from either the alpha channel or a layer using that alpha channel as a mask.
If this is true, what are people doing about it. This cant be acceptable???
Are there any work arounds and is apple addressing this problem?
    Can anyone else confirm this?
I am using Aperture 1.1.2, OS 10.4.7 and PS CS. on a Dual 2GHz Power PC G5 with 4.5 GB RAM
Please note, these are NOT .psd files. I have read and am aware of some psd compatibility issues, and have checked the maximize compatibility in PS.

Thank you for your response, I am trying to figure out what to do differently when we re-create the PDF so we don't have font issues when we combine. I don't want to keep recreating the problem, I am looking for a solution. Why does this happen? What settings do I tell other to apply on their Acrobat? Is the a font issue in Adobe? I found this on a Google search on the internet and can't seem to get it to work on XI PRO.
Embedding fonts into Acrobat 9 through Distiller:
    Launch Acrobat.
Choose Advanced > Print Production > Acrobat Distiller.
    Select Standard in Default settings.
Go to Settings and select Edit Adobe PDF Settings.
Select Fonts and in the font source window select the fonts you want to Add.
Click Save As and then OK.

  • Need help printing tiff files

I have written some code that prints any file that can be opened using JAI and the ImageIO Tools. The code works good for me but I have some special cases where I am having some difficulty. Some files I need to print are TIFF files with many pages. Some are compressed using Fax Group 4 encoding and others are compressed using OLD jpeg-in-tiff. I can read and print the files just fine, but it takes about 2 seconds to print each page. Also the spooling data for 88 pages is 900 MB in size. Printing the same files using IrfanView takes <1 seconds and the spool file is much smaller (equivalent to the size of the uncompressed tiff) The speed and size issues are problems for me because I am working on a print web service. My code to render each page is below. So far I have tried rendering hints and such to increase speed, but I think the problem is that when I read the image it takes up a lot of space in memory.
Here is the overall requirements for what I am doing: A use will request that the server print a set of files (mixed image formats, restricted to TIFF, JPEG, and GIF) be printed to specific printer as a single print job. They can specify copies and collation only. The service will open each file in order and send its data to the printer. I have created a custom class that implements the Printable interface to handle the multiple files. The class below is created for each file and handles the printing of the image file.
I am using JDK 1.4.2 and WebSphere. I am stuck with these options b/c I have to use some IBM API's (IBM Content Manager 8.3) that are not compatible with 1.5 or higher.
Is there any way to speed up my code. Possibly load the image differently?

I found a couple of issues. One was related to code the other to IBM. AS for the code I found an article about drawing scaled images here: http://today.java.net/pub/a/today/2007/04/03/perils-of-image-getscaledinstance.html which was quite useful. My updated code is below. The second issues is that the JRE I am using is the IBM Websphere 5.1 JRE which pretty much sicks. I tested using a Sun statndard 1.4.2 JRE and the print was 5 times faster. Now I am looking to find a way around that issue, but it is not a questions for this form.

  • C6150 Photosmart Print problem with photo files only

Operating system : Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32
Connected to your PC : Wireless Network
Problem description : Attempting to print photos with Adobe Photoshop or MS Office Picture Manager fails. The job appears in the print queue, the size gets to 48 bytes but no further. Attempting to delete the job from the print queue also fails. The Status changes from Printing to Deleting but it fails to delete until the PC is restarted.
I have experienced this problem occasionally over the past several months but lately it appears to be permanent. I believe the problem is with the Windows Vista software because all other files (e.g. MS Word, Adobe PDF, MS IE, emails, etc.) all print normally without any problem. Also, the fact that the job in the print queue acknowledges the Delete command but fails to execute it arouses suspicion.
So, although this is probably not an HP problem, maybe someone reading this might have some knowledge of how I can resolve it and be able to print my photos once more. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I would describe my skill level as Intermediate

    Dear 8lives
Thank you for your suggestions. I ran the "sfc/scannow" ploy. When it finished it said the Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS Log. It gave a path to the CBS log, but when I tried to follow it it came back "Access is denied". Ain't Window wonderful! It has been around all these years, made all that money, but still becomes corrupt no matter how much you spend on anti-virus software and maintenance routines, and then it denies access to what is corrupted, and cannot be uncorrupted without spending money to get the problem fixed. If computers were not so darned essential I wouldn't have one. Next one won't be a Windows PC!
No, I haven't tried re-installing anything because I believe the only thing that might solve my problem is to reinstall Windows. As an Intermediate, that is too scary. I will carry on as best I can, finding fewer and fewer of the resources I paid for usable, until I give up and bite the bullet and see if life is any better if I purchase an iMac. Fingers crossed!

  • HP Officejet100 Mobile L411a intermittent Bluetooth printing problems with PDF files

    Hello,
Our company provides computer-hosted medical devices controlled by an application running on Windows7 computers we supply. We are currently using the HP Officejet 100 as a Bluetooth printer. In some of our customer offices, we experience printing problems using the printer in Bluetooth mode (there are never problems if the printer is connected by a USB cable.)
The printing problems typically affect PDF files printed through Adobe Reader 10, and the symptom is one of the following:
Send a print job to the printer. It doesn't print and eventually the print queue shows an "Error Printing" message. If any print jobs are removed and the printer is power-cycled, the problem goes away for the time being.
    2.  Same as above but power-cycling does not cure the problem and nothing will print, even a test page.
In either of these cases there are no problems if a USB cable is used.
The PDF files we are trying to print are typically 5 pages with 3 of the pages having a lot of graphics and the remainder being text only.
Has anyone seen this behavior and is there anything we can do about it?
    Thanks.

I don't anything about this printer, but I do know that bluetooth is really flaky with large files since it's got a crappy transfer rate, could be that the transfer is dropping and freezing the printer up. Does it have encryption turned on?

  • TIFF file Problems in Organizer PE 4.0

Upgrading from Elements and Album 2 to Elements 4. Many photos earlier scanned as TIFF files will not display in 4.0 Organizer. Most would not even open in Elements 4, although a few would open, but not display in the Organizer. Seems like very strange behavior for an upgraded version.
My work around has been to open the files in version 2, and save as .bmp. Almost all of the .bmp files would then display in version 4. However, this process is not working for a couple of the files that are both .jpg and .bmp.
Any ideas on why I might be having these display problems in the Organizer? It's not universal, since I have over 2500 images and many are TIFF that are working without conflict.

Since this is a discussion related to PE4 I didn't think my experience in PE3 was relevant but since the referenced FAQ refers to PE3 I'm confused.
I rarely include tif images in Organizer except inadvertently when I forget to uncheck Include in Organizer when I save but have never failed to get a normal display in Organizer.
I just put 70 tifs into Org ranging in size form 3 to 35 megapixels and though it took forever every one displayed properly.
    My system specs are P4 2.66GHZ 533MHZ FSB; 512MB DDR SDRAM AT 333MHZ;
    120GB HD @ 7200RPM 73GB free; Custom Paging Init 1536MB Max 1536MB;
    Win XP Home SP1.
According to the FAQ shouldn't I have at least gotten some generic thumbs?
Maybe I don't know how to calculate MP. Width in pixels times height in pixels?

Are you able to print the webpage to 'Adobe PDF' to convert it to pdf.
Which Browser version, OS version and Acrobat version are you using?

  • Printing TIFF files hangs the system, is there a workaround?

When printing large tiff files (e.g., exported layout images from CAD) the system becomes unresponsive and it takes time to print. Even after the image is printed, the system works very slowly.
It seems to be a bug, or is there any workaround to prevent the system to hang?
    Thank you, Jan

    There are two similar bugs:
The LPC+crop bug started with ACR 6.1 and was fixed in 8.2.
The LPC mystery bug started with ACR 7.3 and was fixed in 8.6.
Both bugs cause repeated thumbnail extractions in Bridge on some images with Lens Profile Corrections enabled.
As you are on ACR 6.7 it can only be the first bug. The only workaround I know is to ensure that the crop does not touch the edge of the corrected image. A few pixels gap will do it. Also, it helps to keep less images in a folder--but this can't be avoided when using Collections or Finds.
I'd imagine that Adobe won't fix CS5 just for this. Presumably there's something in the smallprint which admonishes them from responsibility after the shelf life of the product ends. To be fair, it's not like they fixed it straight away in CS6, unlike the Bridge CS5 database bug (thanks, Adobe). They were only able to reproduce the fault in summer 2013.

  • CS4 File Printing Problem

After recently experiencing a transient power outage I am having a problem printing a particular file from Photoshop CS4. The system seems to have recovered well from the electrical outage, with one exception. When I try to print a particualr file that I had been working on, I get the foillowing message.
The Vista-64 operating system recognizes the installed printers (two), my other apps have no problem printing to the default printer and opening a few other Photoshop files does not produce the same problem. In other words, the problem seems file specific. The question is how do I remedy the problem with this important file ?  Duplicating its many layers in a new file does not solve the problem.

Have you tried the standard Tech response "have you rebooted the computer since you made changes"?
When you open up the PS print window does it list the correct printer?
Yes, I have rebooted and everyting else on the computer is happy with the printer setup. I've also reset PS preferences. It seems to be a file problem.
No PS print window opens-  After the error mesage window is dismissed I am back in editing mode for the file.
I think I am going to have to create a new document and drag all the layers from the subject file into the new file and hope that clears up the problem. As I mentioned, selecting all the layers and using the Duplicate Layers command to a new file did not solve the problem.

PS - update: I Created a new file, dragged all the layers from the problem file to the new file and the printing problem disappeared. Do not understand it, but when dealing with a probably corrupted file understanding is a stretch.

  • Problems with opening jpg or tiff files in my own file groups

I have installed Aperture 3.1 from the apps store, but it does not open any of my jpg or tiff files. They are not stored in iPhoto or any other Apple feature, but in my own file system based on types and purpose. They are all scanned analog images made long ago; I do not use a digital camera

First there is no error message - but BTW I did not have Aperture beforhand; this is only the 3.1 downloaded from the App store. Could that be the reason?
It is a pity, that there is no error message, so we just have to guess.
The App-Store version should work just like the boxed version.
I'll check the info panel of any of my images, but as I've never set up anything like sharing or permissions, etc.,
You do not have to set up permissions to have problems with permissions. With each file in MacOS there are stored acces rights, and some times these are wrong, if the files are created by certain apps. Then you need to correct those.
But as Preview can open your pictures, then there seems to be no permission problem.
To me it seems likely that the images use a codec, that Aperture does not understand.
I would like to make sure that you can import  any pictures at all into Aperture.
Could you try to take a picture with "Photo Booth" and try to import it to Aperture?Photo Booth pictures should be imported without problems.
If you can import from Photo Booth, then your image codecs probably are the problem, and you need to find out what is special with your pictures, maybe you can post one as link for us to inspect.
if you cannot import any pictures, then probably something is wrong with your Aperture installation. In the latter case you might wish to perform the basic trouble shooting procedure
