Problem in User Mapping Workset EP9

Hi All,
We are facing a problem in UserMapping Workset.
We are not able to map username & password to a group of Portal users for accesing a system created in portal.
On saving the username & password for the system in User Mapping Workset, we get a Portal runtime error.
The Error message says "userAdmin not completely installed". Any inputs on it.
We have installed EP6 SP9 with KM&C platform.
Looking for an early response.
Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with user mapping

    Hello,
We got a problem with user-mapping to a SAP system.
We create a SAp system, and an alias to this system.
We add a user mapping for the administrator (user, not group). Check for connector is OK.
Now, we make the same user-mapping for a group.
if the user also belongs to the group "administrator" this mapping works, otherwise this fail with a message <b>"com.sapportals.portal.ivs.cg.SystemNotFoundException: Got null system object for alias R3HR".
</b>After checking, there is no user-mapping for the "administrator" group, nor for the roles that belong to that group, nor for the user.
So, it seem that the alias is only visible for an admin.
does any one got an idea ? we are on SP14, Linux.
    regards
    Guillaume PATRY

    HI Guillaume,
The user mapping is available for both Admin as well as end users.
Open your system from System Administration>System Configuration>System Landscape.
In the property editor,in dropdown for property category,
select the logon method as UID?password and User Mapping type to admin/user.
Then you can create a Group, map the system alias for this group and add users to this group.
Also,in the property editor for the system, from dropdown for display, select permissions , and add the group to asssigned permissions as READ ONLY and select the checkbox for ENDUSER.
    Hope,this resolves your problem.
    Regards,
    Siddhartha

  • Problem in user mapping

    Hi
I have created one user in UME - USER1 and another in backend R3 system - USER2. Then by going to Identity Management and going to USER1, I have gone to User Mapping for System Access tab and i've given below details -
System Selection - Selected the System alias TESTSYSTEM for R3 system
Mapping Data - user credentials for USER2
That is all i did for user mapping. Now, in portal, developed customised codes. And, inside code, I have hard coded USER1 and TESTSYSTEM for doing the connectivity for all the users who are trying to access backend data. Code is as below -
    IUserFactory userFact = UMFactory.getUserFactory();
    IUser myUser = userFact.getUserByLogonID("USER1");
    con = cgservice.getConnection("TESTSYSTEM", cp);
    ix = con.createInteractionEx();
    ixspec = ix.getInteractionSpec();
    Then calling BAPI.
And i have created the system for r3 correctly. But, now i am getting below problem -
exceptioncom.sapportals.connector.connection.ConnectionFailedException: Connection Failed: Nested Exception. Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin. error in closing connection java.lang.NullPointerException
    Please help.
    Thanks - prodyut

  • EP + BW: Problems with user mapping in the portal

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect the portal with the BW by using the report RSPOR_SETUP which is a step-by-step guide. The steps #1 - #11 seems to be ok but my problem is the 12th step, the user mapping/allocation maintenance in the portal.
There is an error emerging (in BW): System failure during call of function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST (System failure indicates normally an authentication problem between ABAP and Java)
Another error is emerging by testing the connection in the portal. (System administration u2013 system configuration u2013 system landscape u2013 connection test: the first connection, the SAP Web-AS connection is ok but the second, connection test for connector, is not working.
Especially the connection to the backend system with the defined connector is not working. The output is: u201CConnection failure. Check that single sign on is correct configured.
On step 12 of the step-by-step guide I have to select a user in the portal, relate him to a system alias und maintain his technical username and password for the BW. I think here is the problem. Iu2019m able to select and save a system alias for the user, but Iu2019m not able to save his technical username and password. There is another error emerging (in the portal): u201CVerification of user mapping data for system SAP_BW failed, check credentials for errorsu201D, so Iu2019m not able to save the username and password.
I think thats the my problem. the log file confirms that: "Did not find any existing logon data for principal...." & "No user mapping data available for principal...."
I hope my problem description is understandable.
Any ideas how I can solve the credentials problem to save the username and the password?
    Thanks in advance.

I could deploy some of the usage types, but there is an error regarding the BI-REPPLAN package. I think it's one of the very last errors that stands between me and a working EP - BI connection. There is a problem with the version. Could you check the log details, to find out more?
    Thank you.

  • Problems with user mapping to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0

    Hi,
I am trying to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0 but facing problems inspite of reading the SAP document on downloading Business Package. Here is my problem:
I start to download the package and to map the user ids. I am mapping the SDN user id to a SAP Service Marketplace user id as mentioned in the SDN website. But the download option is not working and gave an error when I clicked on the 'Download' link after user mapping.
It would help me a lot if anyone else who tried to download BPs after user mapping gave their feedback.
Can someone please clarify about the user ids and describe how can I download the ESS Business Package?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
from the description you provide I can't tell what the problem might be, so to determine the cause we need more information on this. Screenshots of the error message would be ideal.
In general, the following needs to be done:
    - you need to be signed in  at SDN with your Service Marektplace s user id
    - the user mapping for the data source 'Service Marketplace' needs to be maintained
Please send the error information to: [email protected]
and we will try to solve it.
    Thanks, Anke

  • Problem about SSO using logon ticket  with user mapping

    Hi everyone ,
I had done SSO with Portal , BW and R/3 system.
I use logon ticket with user mapping .
When user name is same in Portal as in R/3 system, or user name is same in Portal as in BW , user can access R/3 transactions and BW report without logon.
There are some Portal users name which are different with R/3 user and  BW user. And I done the user mapping for these  user.
But some user mapping works fine, but most of them can't work, means that most of them need to enter mapped user ID and password.
    What's the reason?
When SSO using logon ticket with user mapping, the Portal user which is different with R/3 user and BW user,  can they access R/3 transaction iview and BW report iview without logon?

    Hi Chen,
What you have done is correct. But the problem lies here.
Since you are using the same system object for accessing the iview, where the ticket method is set to SAPLOGONTICKET in the user Management property of the system object.
To avoid this create another system object like the previous one but set the logon method to UIDPW and select admin, user from the drop down box. Also create a system alias for this system.
Now create another iview like the previous one but link this iview to the new system. Now do the user mapping for the users which are different in portal compared with R/3. Now you should be able to login without any problems.
Another important point is login to portal with Fully qualified domain name. In the ITS property of the system object also give the FQDN.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Arun

  • User Mapping problem in EP 6.0 SP12

    Hi,
I have installed EP6 SP12 from the CBS site and created a System which is configured to an SAP R/3 system. I gave the Connector parameters, User management as "UIDPW" with "User mapping type" as "admin, user", gave a System Alias and mapped it to my R/3 user. When I test the connection, I get the following error:
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
I read other posts in SDN and verified that the following properties are set to TRUE:
) Portal: System Administration > System Configuration > UM Configuration > Direct Editing
    2) Visual Admin: Server > Services > Configuration Adapter: cluster_data/server/cfg/services/Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    But this does not help.
Could someone help? I am facing this problem in SP12 version alone. It works fine on versions less than or equal to SP9.
    Regards,
    Ann Catherine Jose.

    Subrato ,
To my knowledge for usermapping , you dont require User ID in portal as same as in R3 .This applies in case of SSO with logon tickets .But yes , it should in the same domain ( for this you could use domain relaxation )
    Ann ,
Could you change ume.usermapping.unsecure=TRUE  ( from False )in
System Admin -> System Configuration ->UM COnfiguration -DIrect Editong
Al though this is not a recoomended option , can be used for testing but not in productive use . It is advisable to import security policy files  to your Visual admin
    Hope this helps

  • User mapping problem

    Hi all,
This is first time I am working with enterprise portal.
I have installed Enterprise portal. I want to connect it to SAP R/3 & create IViews accordingly.
    The steps I followed are:
I created a 'system' inside EP which connects to SAP R/3 as backend. I created an IView which points to this System. Then I got a screen saying 'user mapping not provided'
So I tried to map the user though User management-> User mapping.
But after filling the proper data, when I clicked 'Save' I got an error 'Could not save logon data'.
During installation I have provided the crypto JARs properly. So that should not be an issue.
I read about LDAPs, do we really need to install LDAP in order to make the user mappings work.
    Exactly whats going wrong?
Please help me. Thanks in advance.
    Smita

    Hi Smita,
this problem is normally related to the SAP Crypto lib. So maybe it's not installed correctly.
You should take a deeper look in the SAP note 796540.
    https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012006153200001646322004D.ITF
It's important to also analyze the log (default.trc).
The path should be like: <Drive:>\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<Instance NR>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\dafault.trc
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Hi,
I am seeing similar issue while configuring our deployed webapp on Windows.
The container is WebServer 7 (bundled with JES5).
C:\WebServer7\https-aaa.com\web-app\aaa.com\myapp\WEB-INF\test\xyz (The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open)
    From WS7 logs/errors file:
    [23/Apr/2008:17:02:15] warning ( 5280): CORE3283: stderr: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\WebServer7\https-aaa.com\web-app\aaa.com\myapp\WEB-INF\test\xyz (The requested operation cannot be performed
on a file with a user-mapped section open)
So i googled, found this thread and applied the workaround.
Noticed that if we shutdown our WebServer, then we cannot configure our webapp.
That page would not be accessed.
    Any suggestions to overcome this?
    tia.

  • SSO to Exchange without user mapping

I have Exchange configured for collabration groupware integration, and it works fine. I can get my calander entries without a problem when I have a user mapping set for the Exchange Transport. I have SSO enabled using the iis_proxy.dll authenticating via Active Directory also without a problem. I can also connect to OWA without any issue. The only thing I don't like is that I need a user mapping for the calander availabity.
Does anyone know of a way to make this more automatic? I don't want the users to need to maintain their own mappings.

We are in the exact same situation. I thought that the SSO22KerbMap ISAPI filter would do just that but the user mapping is required no matter what, unless I'm missing something in my config. The Exchange and Active Directory users are the same so a user mapping should not be required.

  • User Mapping to R/3 - admin.pwdprotection=false but still pwd field appears

    <br />
    Hello All,<br />
I am doing SSO using user mapping to R/3 system from Portal as the ids are different for Portal and R/3.<br />
I can access a transaction iview from R/3 successfully using user mapping(in SSO) but the problem is everytime a user changes his R/3 password, the mapped password is to be changed in Portal.Otherwise, unable to access transaction iview.<br />
    1) I have changed the property ume.usermapping.admin.pwdprotection=false in configtool but still in User Admin > User mapping for system access , the password field is populated and while accessing the R/3, the password is being verified. I have seen in another system where the password field is not being asked after modifying the property to false, only id field is present. From the end user, under Personalize > User Profile > User Mapping for system, no systems are present as expected for mapping. Logon method in system is uidpw and mapping type is "Admin".<br />
    Versions - Portal is NW7.0 SP18 and ECC is .0 EhP3.<br />
anybody faced the same problem? Is there a note to fix it?<br />
2)Also, in the User Admin > User mapping for system access , in the dropdown I can see the system aliases I have created in systems but not in System admin> sys config > Ume config > under User Mapping , I do not find any reference system. <br />
After first restart it was not there, after some time it has come, later it was coming as configured but invalid beside the system in braces in dropdown like abc(configured but invalid). Once I unselected, now it is no more available in dropdown.<br />
    3) I have used diagtool to identify the problem. In the ticket, how do I see the mapped user?<br />
    I am seeing only the following details.From the log - <br />
The created ticket is: <br />

Does this have an entry for mapped user of target R/3 system also?<br />
If I am not finding the userid/pwd in ticket, how is SSO working? based on user mapping only?<br />
    Thanks,<br />

Thanks Anja for the quick response.
My primary objective is to use SSO with logon tickets to backend which is independent of user passwords.

The UME property ume.usermapping.admin.pwdprotection defines whether or not the administrator must enter a password. By default the administrator must enter one.
is also in the same lines.
But as per the SAP library link, I do not find a reference system  because of problem 2 in the initial post.
Also, I have a screenshot of user admin where the password field itself is not present. If you can share your email id, I will send the scrnshot without pwd and mine with password.
2)I have seen this note. But, none of the 3 cases mentioned are applicable to me..user mapping is working just fine..Only reference system is not populated.
    3) Becuase of 1, I was expecting to see mapped id alone or mapped id along with system name in logon tickets.
    Thanks for the response.

  • Configuration Issue in User Mapping ..

    Hi,
    Pls help resolve this issue..
When i go to <b>" UserMapping "</b> option using the <b>"Personalize "</b> link , i get the following error msg..
"There is a configuration issue which leads to problem when accessing user mapping data for the selected backend system"
Also , if i go thru "User Administration -> User Mapping "
    then it says,
--"There is a configuration issue which leads to problem when accessing user mapping data for the selected backend system  .
Usually reason is user mapping being configured for Strong encryption, but necessary additional files might be missing.Check Security log file for information "--
I am not able to solve this problem..Pls help
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Venkat,
<b>Here the quick and dirty solution</b>:
In your portal go to 'System Administration' -> 'System Configuration' -> 'UM Configuration' -> 'Direct Editing'.
There locate the parameter 'ume.usermapping.unsecure', set it to 'TRUE' and restart your server.
I would rather recommend to install the unlimited strength jurisdiction policy files.
For more info on this, check this thread:
JCE Jurisdiction does not allow Portal to start
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
