Problem in WIP

Hai Friends,
I have a doubt regarding WIP in SAP.
When i view the open items in WIP stock account in General Ledger (FBL3N), i get a list of orders that are still in WIP.
In these orders there are certain items shown as WIP for which the Technical Completion also has been completed.But the same is lying in WIP(Only some value is there without any stock).Some of these items are even sold as on date.
Please Guide me on this Issue

Dear Experts,
I have few doubt on Costing related config.
1) For WIP- I am going to assign all my consumption and activity secondary cost element under COP lineid under Assignment of cost element of WIP and Result analysis.
Here i am consfused regarding consumption a/c assignment.Shall i include COGM a/c of FG and SFG also under COP lineid or only include RM/PM/SFG consumption a/c only.
2) What account need to assign Under SET in Assignment of cost element of WIP and Result analysis.
3) We have Byproduct and need to deduct cost from RM cost component -Shall i create seperate valuation class for the same and defined the same Gl under RM cost component along with RM consumption A/c in cost component structure or i will use Rm valuation class also.

Q1 - No harm if you specify FG Consumption a/c also.. FG Cons is required if the FG can be consumed further in rework scenario or during normal prod scenario
However, COGM account is not required to be assigned... Usually, people use masking like 0041++++ to cover all cost elements starting from 41
Q2 - You assign "Change in WIP account" for SET
Q3 - It is better to use a separate valuation class and consumption account

Time Capsule DNS problem - Complete wipe?

Hi!
I am having a strange DNS problem with my time capsule (4th gen).
With one particular site it doesn't load the start page but random pages of the same domain with always the same pictures.
Setup is following:
Cisco EPC3208 cable modem connected to the time capsule via cable
Troubleshooting so far:
MacBook connected directly to the modem loads the start page of the website -> So it must be a problem with the time capsule
MacBook connected to time capsule via wireless loads the wrong page
MacBook connected to time capsule via cable loads the wrong page
iPhone connected to time capsule loads the wrong page
Rebooting the time capsule did not solve the problem
Uploading the latest firmware again did not solve the problem
Doing a hard reset and importing the previous settings did not solve the problem
Doing a factory reset and setting up time capsule as new device did not solve the problem
Changing the DNS servers from the providers to Google's DNS or to OpenDNS had no change
My thought is that there might be something stuck in the DNS cache of the time capsule. I am quite sure that completely wiping the settings should resolve it. Unfortunately the hard reset did not help nor the factory reset.
Any help is appreciated! I really need that page to my daily work!

We have been hitting this a bit.. I was only in the last couple of days posting in another thread.. do a traceroute from your computer to the site. Do it with TC and without TC.. if it routes wrongly or cannot find the site via the TC, something is wrong.. but I am lost as to what. It isn't dns.. it isn't dns cache.. you can simply use dns on your computer and that would totally bypass the TC. The routing is messed up.. that looks like a different issue. MTU??
Something weird.. but if you cannot find a work around.. the answer is obvious.. replace the TC as the main router.. you can bridge it and use it for backups and wireless. But there is some serious issues going on and the TC frankly is doing poorly.
A decent router is available for $100 or so.. my favourite right now.. Netgear WNDR3800 because it runs decent linux third party firmware like openwrt and gargoyle. These stand head and shoulders above the average firmware in a common garden routers.

Bom Component qty & WIP Quantity differ at Trget cost calculation

Dear gurus,
i am facing the problem with WIP at target cost calculation in REM.
My issue is
BOM Component qantity is 9.524 TO and price is 2000 then total cost is 9.521*2000=19048.
but in WIP Report kkas in WIP explation it takes input qty 9.52 T0 and price 2000 then total price is 19040.
Difference is 19048 - 19040 =8
and also when i am issuing actual qty i.e 9.524 in BOM then my price is 19048.00 ant at time of variance calculaton then quantaty variance as 9.52.0-9.524.0=-0.04 then 0.004*2000 =-8
Please suggest solution for this.

Hi
Rounding differences between target and actual values and quantities are not unlikely to occur and cannot always be avoided but can be minimized.
Small prices and price unit of 1 are likely to cause more of these rounding differences..
The actual credit is simply calculated as price * quantity. The target credit however is calculated during the variance calculation
and based on the sum of all items in the itemization/cost components of the cost estimate and therefore more accurate.
To avoid this I suggest to store the material price with a larger price unit, i.e. 1000
Std cost release stores price upto 2 decimals and target cost calculation goes upto 3 decimals...

WIP process doubt

Hi Experts,
I have a problem in wip process, the scenario as follows
Sales order quantity is 10(say example), we raised po for 10 qty. to vendor, but vendor is not ready to send all the quantity, vendor will send based on the agreement like 1st month 2, 2nd month 5 remaining in 3rd month. Now our client is following the process is when we receive the 1 st month quantity client issuing to customer and customer is sending the amount for that 2 qty. now client is booking directly sales invoice, now they are transfering the sales amount in wip account through manually. becasue in client view actual order quantity is 10, but we are isseud to customer is 2 so they are treating as a wip. Once the final i.e third month billing they are reversing the total amount (which is transfred to wip account) from wip to sales and cost of sales a/c.
1. My doubt is once we book the invoice can we transfer to wip a/c in sap.
2. Please give some suggestions for the above process.

Hi,
It seems that your client is manually posting to WIP A/c. Normally WIP are those which captures unfinished goods
in the Production Order during the periodic processing. You process through KKAX every month how many
production orders are still pending to be converted into Finished Goods, calculate the variance and settle
the production orders which reverses the previous period pending value in WIP which is done automatically
in SAP. If you have not received raw material goods from the vendor for delivering finished goods to customer
and without passing the difference qty. in production order, it is not correct to treat it as Work in Progress.

Navigation Path: Cost > View Transactions > Material Transactions

3. Run the following sql script:

Return되는 data는 아직 Costing되지 않은 data임.
4. Error가 발생한 Data는 다음과 같이 data를 초기화한다.

Error in WIP calculate

I am facing folloing error when calculate WIP in KKAX.
There are values for cost element 14500000 that are not assigned to any line ID

Diagnosis
Not all values for the cost element are assigned to a line ID.
Procedure
Assign the cost element to a line ID. If you don't want to include the cost element in results analysis, assign it to a line ID of category N.
You can access a detailed list of unassigned cost elements as follows: Start results analysis in the individual processing mode (transaction KKA1, KKA2, or KKA3). Select the field Full log. Execute the function. On the next screen, choose Logs -> Parameter List in the menu. A list is generated. The unassigned values are shown at the end of the list.
If cost element "+++++++++" was shown in the message, this is because in the assignment of costs and revenues to line IDs, you have not used a cost element other than the full masking "+++++++++". In this case a presummarization eliminates the information on the cost element.

Symptom
When you execute the results analysis or WIP calculation, the system displays the message KJ161 ("There are values for cost element & that are not assigned to any line ID"). In earlier releases, there was only a general information message in this case.
Other terms
KKA1, KKA2, KKA3, KKAI, KKAJ, KKAK, KKAS, KKAV, KKAX, KKAO, work in process.
Reason and Prerequisites
Due to popular customer demand, this general information message was changed into an error message, even if a missing cost element assignment has no effect in some cases.
The cost element specified in the message is intentionally not assigned to any line item ID because the cost element is not to be taken into account.
Solution
For example, you have the following options to eliminate the problem in WIP calculation and results analysis and have the system ignore a cost element:
1. Option
Adjust results analysis Customizing so that the system no longer displays the error message for the cost elements affected.
Create a new line ID.
Assign the cost elements specified in message KJ161 and which you do not want to take into account to this line ID. Consider that the assignment does not depend on the cost element alone.
Add this line ID to the update and assign category 'N'. The system will not take into account the values from line IDs with category 'N' during the results analysis. On the individual processing log, the system displays these values under N(i) and N(p).
2. Option
Adjust the results analysis Customizing so that the system cannot display the error message anymore.
Create a new line ID. It is to function as a remaining collector.
Select category 'N' in Customizing of the assignment if the respective values are to be ignored.
Select category 'D' if the respective values are not to be lost. Then you have the option later, for example, to assign a cost element missing up to now explicitly to another line ID. Then results analysis reposts the affected values in the next run of the remaining collector line ID to the correct line ID.
Assign all remaining cost elements to this line ID. You can do this by adding a wildcard entry in Customizing of the assignment and assign it to the new line ID.
3. Option
Adjust the results analysis Customizing so that the system displays the error message only if there are values not equal to zero.
Create a new line ID. It is to function as a remaining collector.
In the assignment Customizing, select the category 'N'.
Assign all remaining cost elements to this line ID. You can do this by adding a wildcard entry in Customizing of the assignment and assign it to the new line ID.
Use customer enhancement 1 of the results analysis to check whether or not there is a balance for the remaining collector line ID. Customer enhancement 1 is described in SAP note 26002.
Insert the source code from correction instructions number 257651 of this SAP note (302823) into customer Include ZXKAGU01 of customer enhancement 1. The source code uses a line ID - called 'RES' - as the remaining collector line ID in this case; the source code uses a line ID here named 'RES'; it may also have a different name.
The system now only displays message KJ161 if the cumulative balance of the remaining collector line ID is not equal to zero.
4. Option
Using customer enhancement 7, you can influence the message type of message KJ161.
In this case, refer to notes 198983, 455735, and 495279, which describe the customer enhancement and contain the program corrections required for the function outlined here.
Insert the source code from correction instructions number 257470 of this note (302823) into customer Include ZXKAGU07 of customer enhancement 7.
This causes the system to output an information message instead of an error message. If you select the message type J instead of I for the transfer to the user exits, the system suppresses the message completely.
Additional information
Unlike during the individual processing, message KJ161 does not necessarily have to occur during the collective processing of the results analysis because presummarized data may occur during the collective processing under certain conditions. This situation may result in the system already excluding records with the affected cost elements in advance, for example, when there are several records for the same cost element that balance to zero in every period.
If the object to be accrued by mistake was posted to with a cost element which is not assigned to the results analysis in the Customizing, and if this posting was reversed, in spite of the posting reversal the system can generate message KJ161 can be displayed for this cost element during the execution of the results analysis. The reason for this is that the first posting for example, is a debit posting and the reversing posting is a credit posting. This is managed in two table entries in the CO: one entry for the debit posting and another entry for the credit posting. There are results analysis methods which process these entries separately and which do not summarize these entries. For this reason, it is not possible to group these entries before the assignment to a line Id. A case by case summary would require a runtime-intensive analysis for each imported data record which would impair the performance too much. Therefore, also use one of the four options listed above for this purpose.

Bbm invitation accept problem on 10.2

After I upgrade os to 10.2 yesterday I've problem with accepting invites from friends on bbm. I get BBM invitation but after click Accept nothing happens. I've 2 invitations, first from iPhone, second from Android.
On wednesday on 10.1 os i've accepted invitation without any problem.
Wipe of BlackBerry didn't resolve problem.

Hi, The link to that video just brings up a blank page. Whether the issue you are having is related to the bug report (FP-6197) I discussed, I don't know.
I think you may want to comment on that bug report site that jlewark linked to.
Since you use a Mac, you may want to check their Forums and see if anyone else uses that uploading Software you do.
The site you use for uploading also has a Forum.
I've never heard of it before you posted, only see that it may cause conflictions. Too many variables to be considered,
Flash Player update/Mac OS update/Browser updates to say definitely that it is a Flash Player bug.
Trying to figure out the issue with all of the factors involved, is not my cup of tea:-)
P.S. I've tried twice to send a message, but for two hours it wouldn't post. I kept getting logged off and had to start again, so messages were lost.

I have a macbook pro mid 2010, I want to change a new hard drive because the hard drive originally got bad sectors, I install using a usb lion 10.7, but when want to create or erase the partition, there is a problem saying "wipping To prevent future data volume Accidental probing failed "...
I've tried three other hard disk, but the results are the same.
The last way I tried is the internet recovery, but still can not install it.

You've installed up to four hard drives in your MBP, using Lion on a USB stick to try to format the drives, but to no avail: none of the drive work and you're getting the same error message on each drive.
It could be your SATA cable. Have you tried a new one?

Ask your cousin who the original carrier was, then call the carrier and ask if they will unlock the phone. Some carriers will only unlock phones for the original owner, so your cousin may have to ask.

Buying a hard drive

I'm looking into buying a new [external] hard drive and I don't know what to look for aside from the capacity. I hope you guys can answer my questions below...
- IDE or SATA? What's the difference and what should I get?
- 8MB or 16MB? Obviously 16 is probably going to be better but is the difference worth paying more for?
- USB or firewire? Yeah I plan to have it external and I wonder if there's any major difference.
- Do the brands differ?
I have my eye on a 250GB HD for under $100 or a 500GB for $250, are those good deals?
Lastly, if it makes a difference, consider that I plan to hook it up to my PC first for some video editing projects. In the very near future, I plan to hook it up to my Intel iMac. I'll probably be using the same program to edit my videos (Avid Xpress) so when I hook up the hard drive to the Mac, will it be backwards compatible? (Avid deals mainly with AIF and OMF files).

IDE and SATA are different connectors. Most iMac models have Serial ATA (SATA) hard disks.
SATA is generally faster, but since you're talking about using it externally, it should make no difference as long as you make sure your enclosure matches the connector (IDE or SATA) of the hard disk.
Why? The limiting factor for speed is the USB or Firewire bus, not the hard drive itself. Both IDE and SATA can push data faster than the bus can transfer it. USB2 claims to push data at 480 and firewire at 400, but these are "burst" rates. Tests I've seen show that firewire has a faster sustained data transfer rate.
Given that your limitation will be the interface, USB or firewire, the cache size on the drive (8 or 16 MB) should not make a significant difference.
(Most firewire enclosures have USB interfaces, as well, so you could retain the choice of interface.)
Advantages for firewire: Faster sustained data transfer rate. Can be used to boot your Mac.
This is counterbalanced by the need to use data from a Windows machine. Unless you're going to make your Windows machine capable of reading and writing to HFS+ formatted disks, you'll have to either use FAT32 on the external (which has its own attendant problems) or wipe and reformat it to HFS+ when you attach it to your Mac to reap the full benefits. (If it will be used exclusively with your Mac, you'll want to use HFS+.)
Brands differ mainly on warranty length. As a rough rule of thumb, if the manufacturer is willing to back it for a longer time, you're getting a better drive. YMMV.
Data file format (AIF, OMF) isn't important as long as you're using the same program to edit the files; hard drive format, as noted above, is. Compatibility is an issue only if you're editing on both a Windows machine and a Mac, or if you're using incompatible versions of the editing software.

Q5 is not starting/booting up. Tried all the solutions. Any suggestion?

Around after two-three minutes, from when the battery of my Q5 was remaining around 2 percent, the device restarted automatically while I was typing an email.
While it was rebooting, I plugged in the charger. But somehow there was an infinite loop of rebooting process. The device was rebooting itself as soon as it was started. This happened for three times (three reboots). So while it was booting up for the third time, I unplugged the charger. This time it started normally. I waited for few moments, everything seemed OK, so I plugged it again. It re-started itself after I plugged it in, and started the loop again.
So I removed the charger. I was busy at the moment, but after 15-20 minutes, when I looked at the device, it was turned off. I don’t know why it was turned off though. I mean, whether cuz the battery was drained or cuz of some other reason.
Then I connected it to the charger, but the orange LED didn’t turn up. I waited for few (clock) minutes, no response from LED. I tried to turn on the device by pressing the power key, no response.
Then I turned on the laptop with MS Windows/Link on it, while device was still connected. Windows did not show any sign of a USB device being connected to the laptop. I opened up Link, I tried to reload the software. No luck there as the device can’t be reset as required by Link.
So, I checked if the USB cable was working, by connecting my Bold. I checked my Q5’s charger by connecting Bold to it. Everything was OK.
Then I searched online, and found these/threads solutions:

What I’ve done so far (before posting here):
•   Checked the working state of charger/cable, and plugged it in the outlet (wall, not computer).
•   Left the device charging for almost three hours (no any activity from LED during this period)
•   After three hours, tried to start the device in usual manner. Held the power key for almost 20 seconds, no reaction from device/LED.
•   Pressed both the volume keys simultaneously for almost 30 seconds. No response.
•   Tried the last two steps again after disconnecting the device from charger.
Further details:
•   All the installed apps, are installed from the BlackBerry World itself. No other apps were installed, not even .apk s.
•   No media is stored on device memory, I keep everything on MMC. In total, usually 20 megabytes of the device memory is occupied by “user files”. These files contains only pdf, word, and .txt files.
•   At any given moment (at least in last two months), almost 50% of the device memory is free.
I am not sure what the exact problem is. I mean, whether it is hardware or software malfunction. As I’m in India, usually after 20 minutes of charging backside of the device gets a little warm. Today, even after 3 hours of charging, the device is cold.
I do not have any problem to wipe the device clean/reloading the software. I’ve everything backed up; and I use enterprise on other BB device. All I want to do is to get the device started in any way, as soon as possible.

You've done a pretty thorough job of troubleshooting. At this point I'd say it's time to contact your provider and get a warranty exchange (if it's less than a year old.)

Macbook Pros display blinks to blue, icons change size, resolution changes and cant reset. Anyone else have this and have a definitive idea of the cause? End up running diagnostics and resetting PRAM and SMC to resolve but why? Thanks.

We have had several (7-10 recently) macbook Pros start this issue. The screen will jump from regular to blue, the background image will go away and it will be replaced with a blue screen, the icons change size and the screen resolution changes. Someimtes the users name field on the login screen will fly in from off screen... run diagnostics (AppleJack, Disk Util) and reset PRAM and SMC and sometimes this helps but wanted to know if there was a definite reason for this or a better resolution to the problem?

AppleJack has been discontinued, so you should uninstall that.
I'm suspecting something in software across all machine or a security breach as the primary cause of your problems.
Wipe and install everything fresh, firmware update the router, change passwords, new software form original sources, etc.
