Problem installing CF8 on Windows 7 x64

Hello. I am trying to install ColdFusion 8.0.1 64 bit on the Windows 7 RC x64. I already had CF8 on Windows 7 beta 32 bit OS and it ran just fine. For some reason I can't seem to get CF installed. I'm guessing it's because of the fact that it's a 64 bit OS, but I don't understand why. The installation process works fine until I get to the step where I have to configure my web server. I am trying to install CF on an Apache server (which I have successfully done in the past). When I click on the Add button, the JRE window pops up and freezes. Nothing happens when I click on the Browse button to point to the configuration directory or the bin directory. It won't even respond when I try to cancel out of the window. Any ideas are welcome right now, because I'm out. I don't know what to try. Thanks.

You'll need to setup 2 things:
- in httpd.conf you'll need to add the config entries to load the jrun
connector module (extract mod_jrun20.so from wsconfig.jar)
LoadModule jrun_module "C:/jrun4/lib/wsconfig/2/mod_jrun20.so"
JRunConfig Serverstore "C:/jrun4/lib/wsconfig/2/jrunserver.store"
JRunConfig Bootstrap 127.0.0.1:51020
AddHandler jrun-handler .jsp .jws .cfm .cfml .cfc .cfr .cfswf
Alias /CFIDE/ "c:/jrun4/servers/cfusion/cfusion-ear/cfusion-war/CFIDE/"
- in jrun.xml enable the JrunProxyService and make sure it's the same
port as the one in httpd.conf

Problem Installing 817 on Windows 2000 with RAID Array

I am having a problem installing Oracle under windows 2000 which has 2 x 60 GB discs configured in RAID array. When I run the setup program the cursor goes busy for about 10 seconds and returns back to normal and nothing happens !. No errors nothing.
However when I run the Object Manager in the ods_preinstall directory it starts but in the log file I get the following error message:-

Any idea whats happening....? Has anyone seen this before. Do I need to do something special in teh RAID..?

Here are some possible solutions:
1. The installation notes state that you must be logged on as Administrator to be able to install 9i. Are you logged on as the Administrator? Being logged on as user01 with Administrator priviledges isn't the same as Administrator.
2. Is the disk full? If I remember my installation correctly, I needed 3 times the size of the files. The documentation will tell you how much space you need.

Repair your Apple Sofyware update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

The problem of installation of JDK 7u2 on Windows x64 is coming for both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of JDK.... However, i have tried installing them on Windows x86 (specifically Win XP SP3 x86 on VirtualBox 4.1.8) and the 32 bit version of JDK seems to be installing just fine on 32 bit Windows.
I might be wrong here but maybe the problem is that the 32 bit code on the JDK 7u2 may contain some 16bit code and so the Windows x64 is not able to run it (x64 OS not backwards compatible with 16 bit code). However the chances of this is slim since this is an update and the JDK 7u1 both 32 and 64 bit versions were fine.
However if this might have happened, then it is also possible that the 16bit code is also present in the 64 bit version of JDK 7u2 and thats why both the versions are not running on Windows x64.
Hoping they fix the issue soon. I need to do some testing and programming on Java 7.

today I tried to install the http-server for our 10gR2-database. We are using windows x64.
But I cant find OHS for this release. How can I install apex then?

have you tried the installation, or did you just ask in advance?
in the last wekks i did a lof of installation stuff on an x64 system using the old x32 versions. even oracle sw like 10.2.0.3 client etc.
and most oft the stuff was up and running just like on an x32 system.
just keep in mind that the directory structure an x64 is slightly different #
if u install x32 software the default installation path is "C:\Program Files (x86)" and in the registry a speacial key hklm\software\wow6432node
just in case you need to patch.
in my opinion it would be worth to give i a try, but remember not on a productive system.
i'd like to hear about your results

I seem to be having a problem installing the latest version of iTunes onto my Windows XP Pro 64Bit Computer...
Once iTunes is installed, everytime i open it i get an error message pop-up, which reads the following...
"itunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CD's you need to reinstall itunes"
I reinstall itunes, only to get the exact same error. (Ive tried this a number of times now)
What could be the problem?

Problems installing cs3 on windows 7

Does CS3 install and work normal when installed on a windows 7 system? Some say it installed / worked just fine. Others that they had problems installing or getting it to run. Others that it depens on which windows 7 system you have. Etc. etc.
What do I have to take into account when installing cs3 on a windows 7 machine? I know it's not designed for windows 7 but I rather use cs3 then cs4.

No one yet. I'm thinking about bying a laptop which has windows 7 already installed (I think home edition), but googling I found various topics of people having trouble getting cs3 master collection to work (programs of master collection not being installed, error messages about missing windows files etc, etc.). Which version of windows 7 should I have to make cs3/cs4 work? Or should I be able to install cs3/4 on any windows 7 computer without any problems? Or should I do anything specific before installing?
I'm a little worried that I won't be able to use cs3 (which I much rather use than cs4) when I buy a new computer with windows 7.

Problems installing CF8 on server

Hi all,
I've been trying this for most of the day, so I'll inlcude as much detail as possible. I'm hoping there's a really simple fix.
We have a dedicated server that I have access to via RDP. It is running Win Server 2003 Standard and IIS.
The server is running a bunch of Dot Net Nuke sites configured using Plesk.
They are all in c:\Inetpub\vhosts\mydomain1, c:\Inetpub\vhosts\mydomain2, etc
I want to have a subdomain on one of the sites called, say, apps.mydomain1.com which will run coldfusion code.
I installed CF8 in the usual way except that I changed the default from \inetpub\wwwroot to \inetpub\vhosts.
My vhosts folder now contains the cfdocs and CFIDE folders.
I know the CF server is running as the Administrator pages work no problem. Also, if I create a .cfm file at \inetpub\vhosts\default\htdocs\test.cfm it appears with no problems.
But a .cfm file at \inetpub\vhosts\mydomain\httpdocs\test.cfm returns a 404 Not Found error (404 Not FoundThe requested document was not found on this server.)
I have been trying all day and I can only get .cfm files to work if they are in the CFIDE folder (like the Administrator) or in that Default folder.
I was expecting that all sites set up in the vhosts directory should server .cfm files.
I'm hoping that it's a simple thing that I haven't done that can be fixed.

Or did you reset the default http server to this new directory?

Problem installing CF8 on local IIS on XP

I am trying to install CF8 developer on XP with IIS.
I have tried literally a dozen times and always the same
result - when I go to
CFIDE/Administrator (
http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/Administrator/index.cfm)...
the .cfm is not
parsed and the system tries to open the file with a text
editor. If I try and hit the
directory (
http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/Administrator/)
I get "Server Error" message.
1> I have IIS installed no problem with the default
website settings and select 127.0.0.1 as
it's IP, I have also tried once leaving "All Unassigned"
2> I have disabled and then went as far as uninstalling
all antivirus, firewall etc before
trying to install CF
3> I have tried removing myself from all access to LAN's,
routers, wireless etc.
4> I have tried all three radio buttons on the install
screen that comes up asking for a
server configuration, and on the "specify" radio selection I
have tried a few different
configurations
5> I redownloaded the install thinnking that perhaps
something was wrong with that
6> I even tried installing older version (MX) of CF bit
same result.
In the past (my last computer was Win 2000 Prof) I had no
trouble... enabled IIS, left
default settings, installed CF and just like that I was
working....
Any ideas on what the heck is going on or how I might correct
this?

Check your configuration in IIS to verify that ColdFusion's
file extensions (cfm,cfc,etc) are associated with the
jrun_iis6.dll.
In IIS right click your website and open the Properties page.
On the Home Directory tab, click the Configuration button
Check your settings on the Mappings tab
In CF7 there are batch files installed at
C:\CFusionMX7\bin\connectors\ that will automate the IIS
configuration. You might look for a similar directory in CF8.
You might also check that the changes the installation is
making to IIS is not being blocked by security software.
