Problem integrating Discussion and announcement using AD users in spaces.
I had successfully customized Discussion and announcement Services in webcenter spaces using the default authenticator user WEBLOGIC. And it was working fine.
I was able to post and configure announcement and also able to create forums and threads in webcenter spaces.
Now i have Successfully integrated my ACTIVE DIRECTORY to WLS. And now i want to configure discussion and announcement using active directory users. i am facing problem in it. I am able to login to Webcenter spaces as well as 8890/owc_discussions and also in 8890/owc_discussions/admin (jive forum admin) using AD users. i have also given admin roles to ACTIVE directory users in 8890/owc_discussions/admin under Global Settings -> Admins & Moderators .
When I tried to configure Discussion and announcement Services in webcenter spaces it gives me errors like.....
(1) The service did not get provisioned.
(2) failure to authenticate the user *******, due to: Unable to connect to discussion server.*
Do i need to make changes in keystore.properties & jive_crypto.jar ? Do i need to make a new connection in EM inside WebCenter > Service Configuration.

Have you set up ws-security between your webcenter and discussion server? If not you need to set it up to get rid of the authentication error.
Are you setting up a single-sign on between all webcenter components using OAM? If so there is an additional step to add/update owc_discussions.sso.mode property under discussion admin.

How can I get Discussions and Announcements
I cannot see the Services Tab in the Webcenter spaces Administration, How can I get Discussions and Announcements?
WC_Collaboration is started successfully and in Running Mode.1) Go to the enterprise manager http://localhost:7001/em
2) Select WebCenter -> WebCenter Spaces -> webcenter from the tree on the left
3) On top of the center pane click on WebCenter -> Settings -> Service configuration
4) Select Discussions and announcements
5) Press Add
6) Specify the parameters that match your settings. Also make sure that you set the Active Connection checkbox.
7) Press the Ok button to save the connection
8) Restart spaces server
That's about it.

Problem with writing and reading using serialization
I am having a problem with writing and reading an object that has another object in it. The purpose of the class is to write a order that has multiple items in it. And there will be several orders. This is for an IB project, where one of the requirements is to utilize a hierarchical composite data structure. That is, it is "one that contains more than one element and at least one of the elements is a composite data structure. Kilik07ok i got reading to work to a certain extent... but the prob is i cnt seem to save my innerCustOrdObj proprly...when ever i look for a record using the gotorecordbtn, the outerobject, which is the orderDetails, seems to change but the innerCustOrdObj remains the same... heres the new code..

Problem with Log and transfer using AVCHD
Hello,
I was wondering if I can get help. I use a Canon Vixia HF S200 and FCP Version 6.0.6
I have produced projects on my MacBook Pro 2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 using this process before with no problems in the past. This problem just started and I dont know what has changed. When I open the Log and Transfer (LT) window I can see and hear all my video from the AVCHD folder in my harddrive just fine, I can scrub with no prob.... But when I add clip to Queue I get an red circle with exclamation on my status.
I have changed the settings on the preferences to Apple intermediate Codec and the audio to plain stereo.. no luck there, the video still will not transfer to my bin.
I have made sure that the toggle Queue state was the little arrow instead of the paused icon...no luck there either... i got a message that says clip queued transferring but nothing is happening.
I will appreciate your help!
Also I didn't mean to tread jack earlier, please accept my apologies, if anybody saw that...OK!!!!! This seriously cost me 1 day of my life that I'll never get back!!! lol
So I was able to bring the footage in on to Imovie...Yes, I was that desperate...deadlines do that!
Edited the entire project there...kinda sucked...
Then I had the bright idea that if I was able to bring the videos in to Imovie, on my local HD...than something may be wrong with my scratch disk that I use on FC...its a USB disk, specs =slow.
So I changed the scratch disk and yes "Davi S" for good measure I also deleted the Pref files.
So it working again...here I go editing on FC after I edited the entire project on Imovie...

Problems with Pages and Numbers using iCloud Drive on early 2008 MacPro, Yosemite
One of my computers, an early 2008 MacPro running Yosemite, will NOT save Pages or Numbers documents to iCloud Drive from within those applications. I see the little iCloud Drive error badge next to the file name in Finder after I try to save. However, on the SAME computer I can save Pages and Numbers documents to a local drive (e.g., to my Desktop) and then use the Finder to drag the documents to iCloud Drive successfully. Another computer, a MacBook Pro running Yosemite, has no problems using iCloud Drive to create, edit and then save Pages and Numbers documents stored on iCloud Drive. I have tried "turning off" iCloud Drive for Pages and Numbers in System Preferences on the Mac Pro and then turning it back on to no effect. I have also logged out of iCloud Drive on all of my devices (which include two iOS devices) and then logging back in to ensure that I'm using the same login id on all devices, again with no apparent change.
Any suggestions for my next steps in attempting to solve this issue? Is there any way to get more information about precisely what type of error is occurring? Hovering over the badge only shows "Error".

JonFound a solution, but it is odd:
On the 2008 Mac Pro, I UNCHECK the boxes beside Pages and Numbers in System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Options. Now Pages and Numbers will properly save edited documents to the appropriate folders on iCloud Drive.
Go figure ...

Multiple websites and applications using one user database
I've got several applications and websites that will be built around one main application. In a perfect situation users will be able to register once and be able to log into the different applications and websites using that single account. The different
parts will be:
Main application (Windows application) that uses the account to get access to it's features and to the server.
Second application with it's own specific tasks (Also a Windows Application) that uses the account to get access to it's features and to the server.
Main website which is based on Wordpress. The website has a bbPress forum that would use the account.
Data server which can be accessed for specific data using the account.
Most of the data that the users have will be the same for the different applications and websites so to me it seems that having a database for each separate part would complicate things more than having one database for everything.
My main concern is the Wordpress site and bbPress forum because of the fact that these already have their own account systems.
What would be a valid approach? Using one of the existing databases from Wordpress or the forums with the risk of having a lot of Wordpress/bbPress specific data with the accounts or making a database especially for the other applications and websites and
somehow linking those to the website and forum databases? Would the valid approach be secure for use by these different applications and websites?Moderators,

At this time there is no "solution." You'll simply have to wait the 90 days to re-enable iTunes Match.
For now here is my suggestion. In your User Account, in OS X, sign out of whatever iTunes Store account you are signed in with. Then sign in with your store account and leave it at that. Now sign out of your OS X User Account, sign into your wife's OS X User Account and sign into the iTunes Store with her Apple ID (if necessary sign out of the account first).
Now, you can go back to your OS X User Account and attempt to enable iTunes Match. You will probably get the "wait 90 days" message. If so leave it, mark your calendar, and wait for the 90 days to expire. You can try contacting iTunes Store support at <https://expresslane.apple.com> if you wish, but I really do not know how useful that will be.
Incidentally, you get the message to pay for the service when trying to enable it on your wife's Apple ID because the service has not been purchased using that Apple ID. iTunes Match is designed to be a single-user service that is never signed out of and is associated with one, and only one, Apple ID and a regional store. -

Integrating sortables and mySQL (using AJAX?)
Hi there. I have a rather specific requirement and I'm not necessarily looking for someone to tell me the exact code to use (though that would be nice too)... I mostly want to make sure I'm heading the wise way, and get some guidance on how i should tackle this problem.
I have a database with a number of fields (16 in fact). I have a jquery "sortable" grid set up with 16 blocks, each of which represents one of the fields. field 1 = block 1, etc.
I want to make it so that the end user can drag the blocks into a different order of their choosing and then click a button that will then rearrange the data in the 16 fields to fit the order in which the user specified. Basically allowing the user to rearrange the order of the data and then re-saving it. So if i drag the block so as to swap block 2 and 8 for example, and nothing else is changed, when saved i would want (behind the scenes of course) the function to swap the values of fields 2 and 8 and re-save the data.
I am a php guy and not an ajax guy, but I understand it's likely an AJAX solution i need since it needs to be client-side. the question is 1st, is that a correct assumption, and b) what's the simplest most straightforward way for me to do this? Powerpoint format problems between Vista and OSX using Parallels
I've intalled Parallels and it mostly works great. The exception is Powerpoint and trying to go back and forth between working on a doc in Windows and working on the same doc in the OSX version.
Formatting between the two versions is not compatable. For instance, one user changing the doc in Apple creates a formatting mess when the doc is then opened in Windows.
Are there any patches that solve this problem?Since PowerPoint is not an Apple product, you'll get better response if you use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33607053> rather than an Apple forum.

Integrating SRM and Oracle using XI as middle layer

As i have seen SAP config guides in all acenario's are there between SRM and SAP system as backend.But in our scenarion we have Oracle as backend system.
If i follow the config guides EBP part in SPRO defining backend systems i need to give RFC destination of the backend SAP system.Suppose if it is Oracle then how can i define my backend systems with RFC destination.
How can i define RFC destination,logical system name for my backned Oracle.
Is there any specific SAP documentation and config guide which says about configuration if my backend is non-sap system(Oracle).
I went through all the messages in this forum .All are talking about backend as R/3.
We are implementating SRM 5.0 with Oracle as backend.
Can you send me any documenation and config guides if any one did this type implementation.

to integrate non R/3 backend, you have to define your OA system as a backend in SRM, with the backend type NON SAP SYSTEM 1 to 3, and an RFC destination.
Between SRM and OA, you will need a gateway, an EAI, that will handle your interfaces. In your case this is XI.
You can use the XI RFC adapter, with a TCPIP RFC destination, targeting XI via a registered program ID.
Then depending on your scenario (classic, extended, standalone), you will be more or less integrated with this non SAP backend.
To communicate with a backend, SRM uses the concept of META BAPIs: each backend call is backend type dependant.
You will have to work on each META call from SRM (have a look a table BBP_FUNCTION_MAP, with backend type = Non SAP system).
Each backend RFC call will have to be evaluated and designed (ex: do you enable backend accounting check).
The more integrated scenario you select, the more integration work you will have.
Usually, for OA integration, we use a standalone scenario with some specific replication of PO, GR.
You could use the extended classic scenario, but this will require more integration points.

I'm wondering how I'm supposed to configure my connection to the Discussion server for my Portal sites.
I don't know if I'm suppose to point to the first node of the discussion server on the portal server 1 and to the second node of the discussion server on the portal server 2 ?
Or should I configure my discussions server URL to point to the OHS that will then map to the correct server ? (I don't like this because it means going from lan to dmz to lan again ...)
How do you configure it?

When you configure your environment for high availability, you will often also add a load balancer in front of the Oracle HTTP Server (OHS)
You should point to that load balancer, which in turn points to one or more OHS's, which in turn point to one or more managed servers, running your discussion app.
If you do not use a load balancer, and have only one OHS in front of multiple managed servers, point to the one OHS.

After migration to new iMac - problems with Microsoft office 2008 using multiple users
I migrated my data from my old Imac to my new Imac. On the new Imac I created multiple logins for my kids. My microsoft office 2008 programs will not open. I keep getting the "Customer Experience Improvement Program" screen which cycles through, checks for update then closes never allowowing me to access the program. Please help!!
