Problem running Web Service that uses OracleXMLSave on Oracle AS 10.1.3

I am trying to deploy a Web Service that uses OracleXMLSave. The service was built in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and is deployed to 10gR3 AS. I have all the utitlites available from the 10g Production XML Developers Kit installed . The code compiles and generates correctly . I then deploy to an EAR file that inlcudes the applicaiton code and also all the XDK libraries . No problems so far. But when I run the app, I get an exception like the one below. It says it can't find XMLType . The funny thing is that this library (xdb.jar) and all other related libraries are there in the EAR file . In fact the class loader seems to see it because the exception says that it is there (see text below).
I have added all the libraries from XML Developer kit like xdb.jar , xsu12.jar , etc. I have also verfieid that the files are selected in the WebServices.deploy file and also present in the EAR file . (See full list below the eror message below. ).
It looks like for some reason the class loader can't load the class even though it seems to know that the class exists in the path.
Been sweating on this for a while (probably staring it at too long :) and would really appreciate some help.
This is the exception thrown when the OracleXMLSave Class is called for the first time.

Well I got the EJB lookup working but only when I changed the Provider Url to the pre-10.1.3 format e.g. ormi://someserver:12421/someapp and used jazn.com/oc4jadmin as the username. After reading the online documentation, I didn't think this should work!
Another issue I am having is casting a datasource returned from a JNDI lookup for a datasource. We used to do the lookup in the code and cast to an OracleDataSource. Now it is throwing a class cast exception to ManagedDataSource. Is there a quick and easy solution to this? I really don't want to have to go into the code and change this cast so it'd be great if we can get this working without changing code. This code has been working in a prod environment for two years now on 9.0.3 -> 9.0.4...

  • Calling a web service that uses DIME

    Can ColdFusion interact with a web service that uses DIME? Has anyone worked with that?
    Thanks.

    CF doesn't support DIME "natively", but Apache Axis does, and that's the library that CF uses. So, you'll have to drop to Java to do this.

    Hi everybody:
    I have a problem with a web service I am doing, I have made a web service that returns a collection of objects, the objects have a set of properties, there is one property that is a String,this property consists in a text fragment that could have some characters that are considered special in XML like &, <, >, " and that's why when I execute the service from a client an exception is thrown:

    Hi,
    BPEL and BPEL PM do not have a good support for SOAPENC-Array: it would be very difficult to create such an array in BPEL or to receive it and manipulate it.
    The (unfortunately very intrusive) work around is to change the WSDL of the service to use a XML type defined using XML schema. This is all the more painful that JDev 9.0.4 does not have strong support for complex types.
    In general though, I would highly recommend this best practice:
    1) Start by define the WSDL contract first
    2) Then generate the server side skeleton to implement it
    3) Use BPEL as the client to this contract.
    By starting with the contract first, you make sure that 1) your interfaces are clean and coarse grained.
    2) things like java objects, sessions, etc to not leak through the interface (which would be the worst thing that could happen because it would closely link the client and the server.
    Sorry for not being more helpful. This will get radically cleaner in Oracle AS 10.1.3.

  • Problem creating web service client using WSM Policies

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to make a simple java client to a Web Service secured using a WSM 11gR1 policy (from Soa Suite 11.1.1.2.0). The policy on the server side is oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy which I attached via the Weblogic Admin Console. To implement the client I'm trying to follow the instructions from this documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/e13713/owsm_appendix.htm#WSSOV386 section "Policy Configuration Overrides for the Web Service Client" and also I'm using OEPE 11.1.1.3.0 (Eclipse 3.5.0) to develop the client. The only weblogic jar I've added to the build path is the weblogic.jar . Unfortunately, the oracle.wsm.security.util.SecurityConstants.ClientConstants interface (used in the example A-6) is not included in this jar and I have no idea what other libraries should I include in order to follow the example. I tried manualy adding other jars but without success. In fact I found one jar which includes this interface, the wsm-secpol.jar but it does not have the properties described in the documentation, so I guess it's not the right jar, and also I don't think this is the right procedure since there might be another dependent jars. So I would like to know what libraries exactly I should add to the build path (or some other procedure if you noticed I'm doing anything wrong)
    Thank you !

  • Running web report that uses jdbc

    I have been trying to run a web report from oc4j. The report was created in reprots 9i. The url:
    http://localhost:8888/reports/test/myReport.jsp?userid=username/password@dbname
    works great for a report that was created using a sql connection. It doesn't work for a report created using a jdbc connection. When I try to use it for a jdbc report I get the following error:
    REP-4100: Failed to execute data source. REP-0069: Internal error JDBCPDS-62000:Invalid sign-on parameter P_JDBCPDS
    What url should I use to run a report that uses jdbc? Thanks.

    Hi Roger
    To clarify, for reports which have PDS based queries, you need to give a sign on parameter in the url. This sign on parameter is nothing but the connection details. In case of reports designed with sql query, you provide userid in the url. The default sign on parameter name for JDBC PDS based report is p_jdbcpds. When you design a report, you have option of changing this sign on name. In case your report has sign on parameter name different to default sign on name, you need to specify that sing on parameter name in the URL.
    For JDBC query with Oracle thin driver, the sign on parameter would look like:
    scott/tiger@(DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS =
    (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (Host = xxx-xxx)
    (Port = 1521)
    (ADDRESS =
    (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (Host = xxx)
    (Port = 1526)
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = xxxx)
    After @, you basically gives DB connection info as defined in tnsname.ora file for that DB.
    Thanks

  • Problems creating a web service that uses the report generation toolkit

    Hi,
           Im trying to develop a web service using labview 2013.
    I create a html form that is correctly communicating with my labview method and part of the web service functionality is to create a report from the data obtained in the html form published.
    I realized that using the report generation toolkit inside of the web service method the server cannot generate a report. ( If I run the same Vi before publishing the web service it works on the server but it doesnt work after I deploy it)
    I thought that maybe Im unable to use the report generation toolkit VIs inside of the web service because Im not incluiding the (dynamic VIs labview uses when they run), I tried to add the excel dynamic library to the proyect but with no success.
    I also tried to use VI SERVER to call a VI that generates the report using the report generation toolkit  in the method that runs when the web service is call but  it doesnt work either.
    How can I deploy a web service able to use  the report generation toolkit ?, how can I deploy a web service able to use VI server ?
    Any help is really appreciated.

    The issue you are running into is actually a limitation intended by Microsoft.  They don't want windows services to be able to call into the ActiveX interface for Microsoft Office for security reasons.  If you are deploying your web service to the NI Application Web Server on Windows you will run into this problem since the web server is a Windows Service.
    While I haven't tested this, you may be able to work around this by packaging your Web service with a LabVIEW EXE rather than deploying to the NI Application Web server.

  • Problem running web service on Turnkey 8.0.1 LiveCycle server

    Greetings:
    I need assistance in locating a problem on a turnkey installation of 8.0.1.
    I am trying to get a new installation of this code base running to provide an environment that matches some of my clients.
    The server runs, and I can log into all of the Administrator pages, etc.
    The scenario is I create a new process in Workbench 8, that for now just rights to the server log.
    I create a new PDF document, and add a data connection to my WSDL.
    I try to invoke the service and get the message "Error attempting to read from file".
    If I have security enabled on the service via the AdminUI, I get no messages in the server log.
    If I disable security for the service, I see the following in the server log:

  • Problem running web service demo 10gR2 form

    Hi all,
    I have downloaded the Oracle Forms 10gR2 Demos from OTN and I have the problem while running WEBSERVICES form. When I am trying to change value of the currency drop down list to call web services I am getting Java exception with the message “msg=connection refused”.
    However I verified the installation of web services http://127.0.0.1:8889/demowebservice/Forms90CurrencyConverter
    and its working fine.
    Any suggestion will be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    I am not an expert on web services, but I believe this message indicates that the server you are trying to connect to (local machine) refuses to talk to you. The reason why can be many.

  • Error while running Webi report that uses Custom Dimension object(SAP BW)

    Hi,
    I have a universe that is based on SAP BW.I have created a custom dimension object that displays the maximum date.
    The object syntax is
    <expression>Max(@Select(CPS Online\Calendar day))</expression>
    The object parses successfully.
    The object 'Calendar Day ' is a defaultobject created during universe creation from the BW query.It is defined as [0CALDAY].[LEVEL01]
    I tried  to create a Webi report using this object and a measure .On running the query it throws the following error:
    A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query WITH MEMBER [Measures].[EBC10672-C0DA-4998-93,80,D3,FF,C3,E8,A2,22] AS ' Max{[0CALDAY].[LEVEL01]} '  SELECT  { [Measures].[EBC10672-C0DA-4998-93,80,D3,FF,C3,E8,A2,22], [Measures].[4JCOSFOKKCUR3RMBPNROFKQQD] }  ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY [0CALDAY].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS DIMENSION PROPERTIES [0CALDAY].[20CALDAY] ON ROWS FROM [ZCCPSONL/ZCPSONLINE]  failed to execute with the error Invalid MDX command with (. (WIS 10901)
    I have tried every possible syntax I could think of but I keep getting this error each time.I have set the object type to Number (even though it is actually a Date), I have tried writing the MDX inside the Max instead of the @select , but nothing seems to work.Could anyone please let me know why this error is occuring?Is there anything wrong with the syntax or is there any setting in Webi needed before a custom dimension object can be used on it.

    Can you see data for Custom object @ BEx level??
    YES, then just try to re-create the same variable and Save the BW query.
    Now do View - refresh Strusture @ Universe. And you can see Filter for the same, just Parse it, just whether it is OK or not.
    OK -- then Export the Universe and create WebI reports, this will come as Prompt.
    Hope it will helps you.
    Thank You!!

  • Failure to generate WSDL from web service when use xmlbean

    Hi, I have a web service that uses xmlbean generated by schema. The schema from 3rd party is in a separate project since it's used by another web app and ejb project. In wlw103 I have included the schema project in this web service project's Java Build Path. The web service compiles, but when I tried to generate WSDL a Error window shows and says "The WSDL cannot be generated from the web service due to unexpected runtime errors".

  • Exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service

    Hello All,
    I get an exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service. The web application is a WebDynpro Application.(an application similar to the one "Using an Email Web Service in Web Dynpro" in the tutorial section of Web Dynpro but using a different web service)
    The exception is
    <b>Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (404) Not Found.</b>
    Could anyone give me an idea on what might be the problem ?
    Regards,
    Loveline.

    Hello,
    Like you said it was the problem with url.
    The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.
    Thanks !

  • Problem with web service proxy and connections.xml

    JDev 11.1.14
    Hello
    I'm trying to create a web service proxy that takes advantage of the connections.xml so that the endpoints can be changed without recompiling the code (as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b31974/web_services.htm#ADFFD548 - 13.2.2 How to Create a New Web Service Connection)
    I created the web service proxy using the Jdev wizard and a test client. The access to the web service works as expected.
    The client test code is :
    package model;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.proxy.*;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.root.Currency;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    public class wsTest {
      public wsTest() {
        super();
      public void testIt() throws NamingException {
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = new CurrencyConvertor();
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();
        Double res = currencyConvertorSoap.conversionRate(Currency.CHF, Currency.USD);
        System.out.println("Hello");
        System.out.println(res);
      public static void main(String [] args) throws NamingException {
        wsTest tt = new wsTest();
        tt.testIt();
    }I then create a connection as described in the docs.
    I now have a connections.xml as follows:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <References xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/jndi">
       <Reference name="CurrencyConvertor" className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.impl.WebServiceConnectionImpl" xmlns="">

    I then created a new jspx page with a button that calls a method in a request scoped bean.
    The method is supposed to use the connections.xml to get the web service proxy in order to call the web service.

        wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("CurrencyConvertor");
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = wsc.getJaxWSPort(CurrencyConvertor.class);   -- NPE here
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();

    Hi Frank
    The page is ADF bound, I've added the page source and the adfc-config source below :

  • Errors installing web service to use dreamweaver extension

    Portal Version: 10g
    OS/Vers. Where Portal is Installed:: Linux AS 2.1
    Errors installing web service to use dreamweaver extension
    Recently I download the dreamweaver extension for portal, but when I try to install it several errors are raised... in the installation guide the next message appear:
    This installation for this feature is an easy 3 step procedure.
    1. Installing the Portal web service
    2. Configuring the web service to work with your portal (one time administrative process)
    3. Installing the PortalTemplates extension for Dreamweaver MX
    well but when I try to run the 1 step everything goes wrong...
    in the guide say:
    # Transfer this file to the OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home directory of the OC4J
    (please make sure that the OC4J is up and running)
    # Use the following command to install the web service
    java -jar admin.jar ormi://<oc4j_host>:<oc4j_ormi_port>
    <username> <password>
    -deploy -file portalTemplate.ear -deploymentName portalTemplate
    here it's where I have some questions,
    1. the ormi referers to the rmi ok (I think that), well then I go tho the iasconsole and search for the ports and is show:
    home RMI 3202
    OC4J_Portal RMI 3203
    OC4J_BI_Forms RMI 3204
    then I use the home-> port 3202
    java -jar admin.jar ormi://myhost.midtierinstall.com:3202
    ias_admin ias_midtier_admin_password -deploy -file portalTemplate.ear -deploymentName portalTemplate
    but the following messages appear :
    Error: Unable to find java:ServerAdministrator : lookup error:javax.naming.AuthenticationException invalid username/passwod for default (ias_admin).... and the error continue... but the problem is that the password works when I use the enterprise manager in that midtier console...
    I want to know if I'm doing something wrong or how I should use this command to install that web service

    The ormi is the rmi port in the OC4J. This coold be found in oc4j_home/j2ee/home/config/rmi.xml file. The default port is 23791.
    Hope this helps,
    Ramya
