Problem seeing the flv player control

Hope someone can help me on this.
1. encoded a video with Flash 8
2. selected SteelExternalPlaySeekMute as skin for player
3. resized the canvas to be about 10% larger than the actual
video+player
4. centered the video+player
5. generated the swf, plays fine in Flash 9 Player standalone
6. embeded into a webpage, but neither swfobject.js nor
<object> nor <embed> displays the flv controler. the
video plays, just no controller.
I've make sure that the skin file is in the directory as the
flv, so now I'm baffled as to why the controller is not showing at
all. so if any one can help me on this, please.

I had some minor success by adding this into frame 1 of the
.fla containing the FLVPlayback control (with id set to
FLVPlayback):

Then for SWFObject I added (using a relative path to our skin
asset):

This seemed to help for most browsers. Opera didn't seem to
cooperate with this solution, but putting
SteelExternalPlaySeekMute.swf also at the very root of our site
seemed to fix it for now. In a bit of a rush to deploy, so we
haven't been able to investigate further.
The site this is embedded in does make use of the <base
href="
http://www.oursite.com"> html
tag in the header section, which has given us a bit of grief
elsewhere but is necessary for some other add ins... haven't tried
removing it yet, but it may be possible this is contributing to the
issue?

The problem for you is that Top Notch 2 with ActiveBook was written and released by Pearson back when Macs utilized the PowerPC CPU platform. In 2006, Apple migrated the Macs to Intel CPUs, but released their Operating Systems with an invisible translation program, Rosetta, so that the user could continue to use their existing library of PowerPC applications and take time to update them as needed.
The problem arises in that Apple no longer continues to update Rosetta for inclusion in Lion and now Mountain Lion, so that your CD-ROM cannot be executed on your Lion Mac.
Since Pearson looks unlikely to rewrite and release an Intel version of Top Notch 2, you must find a workaround that will play your CD-ROM and allow you to continue utilizing your ActiveBook.
You do not indicate which model of Mac you are using. If you upgraded it to Lion from Snow Leopard, you have these workarounds:
1. Revert to Snow Leopard
2. Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it. This will allow you to "dual-boot" into Snow Leopard when you need access to run Top Notch 2. You would then have to "dual-boot" back into Lion when you needed access to those features required by Lion.
If you purchased a new Mac that came with Lion, you only have one workaround available to run Top Notch 2:
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels

There is an easier way to run your Top Notch 2 in Parallels if cost is not a significant factor for you. You must purchase Snow Leopard Server from a third party souce, such as eBay, which when sold by Apple was $499 or more. I now see that it can be purchased on eBay for as little as $51. Parallels allows for easy installation of Snow Leopard Server into Parallels.
If cost is a factor, then use the link above the photo to follow my instructions on how to install Snow Leopard client ($19.99 from Apple) into Parallels and achieve the same result.
Lastly, you could purchase a used Mac that will allow Snow Leopard to be the boot OS X installed (wth the optional Rosetta installed). But this seems like an expensive alternative just to run one piece of software; and subject to hardware failure without notice or recourse.

I am having major problems with the Flash Player Download

I have downloaded it probably 12 times +. I have tried everything I know and keep coming back to the boards for more. I don't know what else to do. I have I/E 8. I use AVG 8.5. I use Net zero and their proprietary pop up blocker. I download 10.1.82.76. I have also downloaded the older version and tried that. I tried the manual download. I made sure AVG is off. My Internet setting is at Medium.I have CCleaner installed. The blocker is on.I do see the whirling F video and it say I have the corresponding download to the right, and that it was successfully downloaded. I go to my control panel and in there it shows the download manger actively installed with a quantity of size. It shows the Adobe Flash Player also installed at least in name, BUT there is no quantity displayed for the file size. So this tells me it is somewhere, but just not totally installed or stuck somewhere. I completely remove it each time I reload it And I restart before I redownload. As far as I remember I already had it operating a while ago and all of a sudden my game site wouldn't work on Facebook. So I troubleshot it. It said to download the latest version if the game won't start so I did. And that is when this whole download problem began, probably about a week and a half ago.I have Windows XP Pro in I believe 32 bit, but where it says to check it says 128 bit capable, I think was the word. I can't find specific 32 or 64 anywhere.XP version is several years old.and I don't have any brand new hardware. It is an ASUS board, top of the line back when. and no problems before. There is a raid system running. as the board was designed for it. And I run two mirrored high speed discs in SATA. but they are almost totally empty. They are Raptors.The board is a P5AD2 Deluxe. I just have 1 Gig or ram installed.I use a slow but usually reliable dial up download. I can't get high speed.I have another spyware blocker in the tray Zone Alarm, but I very seldom use it and keep it off most of the time and every time I have downloaded the Flash.In tools my Flash Object is enabled AND it shows the correct download version of Flash. Under Internet Properties/Advanced I don't know which to set where so I haven't changed any.........Well that's about all I can tell you that I remember I have tried. Now you can see what you can think of. I'm out and really ticked at this Adobe thing.

Ok, but before I get involved with a lot of uninstall's, whereas you said that the earlier one didn't effect anything when it did, what is this going to effect and can I recover the deleted info or files if it doesn't work or causes problems as I say it did before?
Second I never used a downloaded uninstaller before during any of my uninstall's. Just the one in the control panel listing included in the FP header and listed there. It appeared that it removed all of the FP info because as I said I went to the Start/search and looked for any Adobe FP items and found none. So I assumed I did a good job of clearing any FP before rebooting and re-downloading FP. So is that a yes or a no to start with?
Third You, I guess it was you said that from what I told you FP is loaded and operating as it should. If so why would I do this (continue making changes) now, when apparently the problem is elsewhere? IF in fact it is, that is.
Fourth. I received a reply from Facebook tech saying that IE8 does have some issues with their app's due to similar construction platforms or something to that effect (I saved the mail so I can quote it if necessary), and that I should try a bunch of these recommendations and see if they work, which I did not yet do.I just sort of gave up on their game and said screw it. If they can't provide software that works with current popular platforms then I don't need their software. And part of what they suggested was to change my browser. I am used to IE and really don't like changing things all the time just because there's something new. And many of the things available in Firefox and such, I probably don't have use for so why should I change to begin with. Anyway I wasn't really willing to change my browser to suit their software. But in another point, the game was working fine for quite a while with my original FP untill it just quit one day. And as I said I don't know of any changes I made to cause it. I didn't change browsers or download any other games or change ISP or change FP or modify how they ran as far as I know.
Fifth. I received an e-mail from a girl who like me posted on here and while reading some of the posts before posting my self read hers. Our problem or complaint was quite similar and someone suggested that she use a different browser and she apparently did and it apparently because she emailed me and said that that was what worked for here. Again, I didn't persue that avenue.
Sixth. But just FYI any of the seemingly similar games will still not work on the Facebook site for me because I downloaded a similar one to the one that didn't work and it did just as the other one was doing. and loaded all the way until the game picture loaded and stopped blank. So either I have a problem or bug or Facebook/Game supplier does. Maybe both.
So please answer these before I just go off and make changes I can't recover from if my system crashes because of a mod. Thanks.

I am running a website called mediahawk, I cannot play audio files I just get a black box where the media player controls are

I log onto the site when I try to play an audio file I see a black rectangel where the media played controls should be and the file will not play.
I have tried updating the plugin.
It works fine in IE.
Anyone have any ideas

Sound problems with the cd player

Hello All,
I would like to play a music cd. All the gear works in Debian so we know the hardware is ok.
The first issue is that I am told by "cd player" that I do not seem to have permission to open /dev/cdrom. I am in the audio group as well as the optical and wheel groups.
The real problem it seems to me is that /dev/cdrom is owned by root and the group is also root even though it is just a pointer to /dev/hdc which has a group set to "optical."
Issue number two is that if root plays the "cd player" in the menu he can get it started but the player claims a known good music cd is "blank."
This is all from a fresh install of "noodle." (0.7.1) and I use xfce4. I followed every step in the wiki.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I got the stock cd player to work finally, but I am not sure what did it, as I had moved on to other things and just tried it once more this morning when it started working. It is possible that something happened in the re-boot.

Spotify Connect & Yamaha Reciever problems - See the device but cannot connect.

I have a Yamaha RX-V577 reciever with Spotify Connect and update to the last firmware.
When I try to connect spotify using the Android APP, I see the device but cannot conect to it.
What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?
1. I star a song
2. Click on the speaker sign with a circle, and click on the receptor (Yahama device).
3. The grey rounder speaker sign goes from grey to green and the sound waves moves (like tryng to connect).
4. After a while it goes back to grey.
IMPORTANT I dont know how sometimes it works, dunno how but after trying alot yesterday It worked. But cannot reproduce it.

I have the EXACT same issue BUT on a Sony STR 1050! It worked fine up until lately. Sometimes I get it to work, but mostly not. When it works, it's very unreliable and often not in synch.
It still works absolutely fine with my Computer/Spotify App. I can even tell my PC to use my AVR as sound output and the connect to my PC to listen via my AVR. But connecting directly to my AVR is a PITA. Since more users have the same problem across different AVRs, it seems to be a new Spotify problem and not an issue with my AVR.
When can we expect that this issue is fixed!? I'm using this feature constantly.

A problem with the DVD player

I live in Kuwait, and I order a lot of movies from the United states by amazon.com, movie regions differ from USA and Kuwait, so the DVD player must change the drive's region, the problem is that I'm out of times because it's limited. Why is it limited and what can I do to solve this problem, even if I had to use other programs. Thanks.

VLC might work. It doesn't care about region codes.

Problems with the music player

I recently got my curve and the music player was workinf fine at first..i could control equalizers, playlists, changing songs as one is playing....then when i plugged it in to the computer to add themes the music player now only plays one song at a time no equalizer or playlists and i hafto go back into the music list on order to change songs.. HELP!!

Suddenly the facbook games page margens have become hidden by the face book section and I cannot see the arrows to control the games,

It's as if the game page has been maximised behind the facebook face page, this happened suddenly, one day I could see the complet game page with its control icons in the bottom right hand corner, the next they appeared behind the face page, to play them now I have to use the Internet explorer browser

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

OSB - Problem using the Service Callout control in a proxy service

Using a Service Callout control in a proxy service requires to check one of the following two options: Configure SOAP Body or Configure Payload Document. Both require to write SOAP code and to assign it to variables that will be used in the Service Callout control. I found quite inconsistent to have to write SOAP code in order to use a tool which is supoposed to avoid writing Java code. In this case I largely prefer to write Java code and doing things manually. Is there any other way to use this control ?

I'll try to explain again, however it seems very clear. I'm using a Service Callout control in order to call a JAX-WS web service. This web service is using a "document" style, of course. Consequently, all its operations (messages) are document-centric and they have only one parameter: the document. In order to use tha Service Callout control, one has to construct the <siap:body> element, to assign it to a variable and to provide the name of this variable in the Request Body test field of the Service Callout Properties dialog. Accortdingly, one needs to assign something like:

Problem seeing the BI Admin Cockpit in the Portal

Hello Gurus,
I hope you may be able to help me. I would like to be able to see the BI Administration cockpit in the Portal. The Stats technical content, has been activated, ie cubes multiproviders, process chains etc and stats data collected in the cubes. The next step is now to use the BI Admin cockpit in the Portal but it does not appear in the Portal under:-
System Administration>Monitoring
The role SAP_BW_BI_ADMINISTRATOR has been assigned to me (user), but still I cannot see the Portal content. Please help.

- Execute RSTCC_ACTIVATEADMINCOCKPIT_NEW (using Transaction RSTCC_INST_BIAC ) only and configure as per OSS Note: 934848
- The user should have authorization to Install BI Content S_RS_RDEMO
- Follow steps related to BW as mentioned in OSS Note: 517484
- CALL Transaction SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL

either of them, the big picture opens in the pop up window and
closes up when I click on it.
What I want it to click on an image to open up the

You just set the image's visible property = false and make
sure you have a VideoDisplay underneath the image.

Problem with the Flash Player 1,7,700,202 and monitor stand-by

I have installed Flash Player 1,7,700,202 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit with Internet Explorer 10.x and I have a problem on each account:
When I play back a video or I see a Flash animation on a Web page, the monitor does not go more into stand-by during their visualization. How come?
