Hi,
Have you started your metadata repository database? This must be up and running before starting the infrastructure.

Problem starting RAC database instance on Node 2
Hi all,
I have the following problem after installing RAC 10.2.0 with 2 nodes (clusternode1 & clusternode2).
I'll greatly appreciate if someone could help fix this:
oracle@clusternode2:~> srvctl status nodeapps -n clusternode1
VIP is running on node: clusternode1
GSD is running on node: clusternode1
Listener is running on node: clusternode1
ONS daemon is running on node: clusternode1
oracle@clusternode2:~> srvctl status nodeapps -n clusternode2
VIP is running on node: clusternode2
GSD is running on node: clusternode2
Listener is running on node: clusternode2
ONS daemon is running on node: clusternode2
oracle@clusternode2:~>
oracle@clusternode2:~> srvctl status asm -n clusternode1
ASM instance +ASM1 is running on node clusternode1.
oracle@clusternode2:~> srvctl status asm -n clusternode2
ASM instance +ASM2 is running on node clusternode2.
oracle@clusternode2:~>
oracle@clusternode2:~> srvctl status database -d orcl
Instance orcl1 is running on node clusternode1
Instance orcl2 is not running on node clusternode2 <-------Here is the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So when I try to start the orcl2 instance I receive:

Thanks John,
How the cron jobs takes care, is there any different is there between Admin Managed & Policy Managed
Thanks.

I don't know what your cron jobs do. If (for example) they logon to the database through a service published by the scan listeners, they will be happy. If they logon using a deterministic connect string, you have a problem - a problem caused by mis-using the system. -
EhP5 Install Failed in START_SHDI_FIRST - can't start the shadow instance
We are in the process of upgrading our ERP system from EhP4/NW701 to EhP5/702. The current phase is MAIN_SHADOW/START_SHDI_FIRST. SAPehpi is having problem starting the shadow instance. We tried to manually stop and start it as well, but of no help. The log files 'STARTSFI.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG' don't seem to provide any useful information. I looked through the files under the work directory for the shadow instance and still couldn't find any helpful information. Where else should I look? Please help!
Thanks,
Jonathan YunHi Srikishan,
Thanks for your reply. dev_disp didn't show much helpful information. However, dev_w0 did show error that I didn't except to see.
Do you know if EhP5 installation require oracle 11g client to be installed?
We ran into a problem at the beginning of the installation where /usr/sap/put/EHPI/abap/exe/dboraslib.o couldn't be loaded because it was looking for symbol strcat. We did a dump of the header for it (dboraslib.o) and saw it reference oracle 11g client so we put the 11g client libraries out there for it to reference but didn't officially install it and change the libpath for the original system. And now, dev_wo is complaining about not able to load /usr/sap/put/EHPI/abap/exe/dboraslib.o because it couldn't find strcat from the 10g client. I tried manually changing the libpath so the 11g client path appears before the 10g client path and stop and start the shadow instance manually. However, no matter what I set the libpath to, the error is the same.

Tabs only open in a new window. Ctl T opens a new window NOT a new tab help-last update this problem started 2 days ago. How do I set FF back to open tabs in 1 window?
There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.as a first troubleshooting step - does it work like normally when you open & run firefox in [[Safe Mode|safemode]] by pressing the shift key while you open firefox (all other instances have to be closed before)...

Our BI system is currently Netweaver 7.0 with SPS14. We plan to update it to SPS20. But when we start JSPM, we have abover error.
could somebody give a help? Thank you very much.

There is not much information about the error in the log file you have pasted above.
Please repeat the issue and catch the log files once again.
Are you able to open SDM ?

Raghu -
We are getting a SCOM alert " Database copy isn''''t keeping up with the changes on the active database copy and has failed."
When we go to the mailbox server and check we found all the Mailbox DB's are mounted properly and their copies are in healthy state. Further digging to this problem we found that there are no critical events to this DB in the eventviewer.
When we runt he get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus -identity DBNAME | Fl then in the ErrorMessage section we get error "The Microsoft Exchange Replication service encountered an error while attempting to start a replication instance for . If the copy doesn't
recover automatically, administrator intervention may be necessary. Error: The directory is not empty."
ErrorEventID : 4126
In the event viewer we get a Information event 4114 saying the DB redundancy health check passed and in the details section we get the same error message mentioned above.
Also we observed that the "MSExchange Replication" counter "Failed" is set to 1 for this perticular DB but is is set to 0 for the other DB's. Tried restarting the MSEXChange replication service but still the "Failed" counter
is 1 and the SCOM alert is still active.
The version is Exchange 2010 SP3 UR5
Any clues???Hi,
From your description, this issue only affect one mailbox datatabase.
Please use the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy command to check result.
If it doesn't work, please dismount your active database copy and check if this is Clean Shutdown, if it's dirty shutdown, please bring to clean shutdown and mount this database copy. Then run the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy command again to check result.
Best regards,

After close server i was restart server two time but my alert file show same error.HI..
Shutdown the standby database, copy the controlfile to the locations you want, edit the pfile and add the locations of the controlfiles in contfrol_files parameter , save it and startup nomount pfile='location';
Then mount the standby database and create spfile from pfile;

With only Yahoo account in my Macbook Air "Mail", everything works perfectly. Problem started when I added my Gmail account. It keeps on asking my account and keychain passwords. And all my accounts always works offline.
It sounds like you may need to go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts and Complete setting up you Gmail account. It may not be finished being setup. For instance, note the line below to be selected from the drop down list in "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP", then "Edit SMTP Server List":

Problem Starting Managed Servers
Hi,
I am trying to start Managed Server on Sun Solaris. My admin Server and managed Server
are on the same Machine.
My admin Server starts up with out any problem. WhenI try to bring up my Managed
Server its not reading the command line arguments which I supplied through the Console:
Servers -> serverName -> Remote Start->Arguments. For some reason these command arguments
are not read and so I am having errors like Unable to load libraries, etc.
Also when I saw the log file for managed server the class path and the arguments
are printed in a different way than I have set. I dont know if thats a problem or
not. I am copying part of that for your reference.
classpath=/opt/j2sdk1_3_1_01/jre/lib/rt.jar\:/opt/weblogic6.1\:/opt/weblogic6.1/lib/weblogic_sp.jar\:/opt/weblogic6.1/lib/weblogic.jar\
serverStartArgs=-Dweblogic.management.server\=sunserver\:7210 -Djava.security.policy\=\=/opt/weblogic6.1/lib/weblogic.policy
I have checked the config.xml file and what ever I have set in the console is being
saved properly in the xml file.
Can any one know why the back slash is printed above even though I havent typed that
in the console. Has any one have experince with setting the command line arguments
and class path through console for Managed servers.
I am stuck up at this point. Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KiranSeems a method signature does not match with the implementation in the
library either due to namemangling or incompatible versions of libraries.
You are loading your own custom native libraries for security.
Best would be use the default startManagedServer -- once the server has
started, copy and paste the entire value of java.library.path into the
startup arguments for Remote start.
For instance in my server log file:
####<Apr 10, 2002 6:47:10 PM PDT> <Info> <Management> <mountview> <myserver>
<main> <system> <> <141034> <Java system property: java.library.path =
/home/sabha/600sp2only/jdk130/jre/bin/../lib/sparc/hotspot:/home/sabha/600sp
2only/jdk130/jre/bin/../lib/sparc::/home/sabha/600sp2only/wlserver6.0/lib/so
laris:/home/sabha/600sp2only/wlserver6.0/lib/solaris/oci816_8:/usr/lib>
I would set that as the arguments :
-Djava.library.path=/home/sabha/600sp2only/jdk130/jre/lib/sparc/hotspot:/hom
e/sabha/600sp2only/jdk130/jre/bin/../lib/sparc::/home/sabha/600sp2only/wlser
ver6.0/lib/solaris:/home/sabha/600sp2only/wlserver6.0/lib/solaris/oci816_8:/
usr/lib
If this does not work, then java for some reason is not taking library paths
set as java.library.path and I dont know how to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH as part
of arguments to java. Another thing is before starting the NodeManager, set
the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point the library directories and see if this helps.

Sabha,
I am trying to start the managed server via remote start. After readingyour reply
I have cleaned up the argument list for remote start. Now I am gettingaltogether
a different error.(Surpsisingly I was able to start the managed serversusing srartManagedServer.sh.
I dont know why I am having trouble to do the same through the remotestart).

I am getting a unsatisfied link error. In your reply you have asked me toadd -Djava.library.path
to the argument liist which I did. Below you can find the exact error Ihave got:

want to start the server through NodeManager and not for normalinvocation
of the startManagedServer script.
Does the server really start? can you paste the startup arguments for the
remote start of the managed server as saved in the config.xml.
What is the log generated when the managed server is startedup.

Sabha,
The main problem is:
What ever I am trying to give in the command line arguments through theConsole:
Servers -> serverName -> Remote Start->Arguments.
is not being read during managed server start up.
I have all the libraries defined defined in java.lib.path. I dont knowwhy
its not
being read by managed server during start up. Am I missing something.

Problems starting WLS 7 server ... checkLicense NullPointerException
Hi there,
We have a clustered environment running WebLogic Server 7.0 Service Pack 4. In our cluster we're running two WLS instances essentially as webservers, to serve up static content.
Starting and stopping the WLS instances is done using scripts written by a group of now-departed developers (we are not using NodeManager).
The problem that we're having is that the "webserver" instances are very difficult to start up, and may require seven or eight attempts to start properly. Most of the time, we see the following NullPointerException in the server log:
====================================================
<9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>
<9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Emergency> <WebLogicServer> <000209> <ListenThread.run() failed: java.lang.NullPointerException

<9-Nov-04 12:36:30 EST PM> <Emergency> <WebLogicServer> <000210> <The WebLogic Server is no longer listening for connections. You should probably restart it.>
====================================================
If WebLogic was having a hard time finding the license.bea file, I would expect that something more user-friendly than a NullPointerException would occur. Also, a simple problem with locating the license file doesn't really explain why the server eventually does come up properly, despite the fact that it can sometimes take many attempts.
Unfortunately, since these servers are running in production we don't have the luxury to start and stop them at will to perform testing.
Does anyone have any hints as to what might be causing this issue? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards,
jodymI'm guess you changed owner of config/mydomain to weblogic? To
confirm - try touching/create a test file in config/mydomain,
i.e. touch mytest.perm;ls -l mytest.perm;rm mytest.perm
You could start weblogic with truss:
truss -t open -o /tmp/truss.out -f "your start command"
Then examine /tmp/truss.out

I have installed WLS in the sun solaris machine and have problems starting up a mydomain
test server. I am getting:
weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException: - with nested exception:
[weblogic.security.internal.FileUtilsException: couldn't create temporary file for
SerializedSystemIni.dat, .new, /config/mydomain - with nested exception:
[java.io.IOException: No such file or directory]]
I am suspecting the problem might be that we have installed it as root and then change
the rights to weblogic. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
