Problem Starting ORBacus ORB from Weblogic on HP-UX 11
I'm trying to use Weblogic startup classes to startup an ORBacus ORB.
During the Weblogic startup process I receive the following error:
Fri Jul 07 15:24:49 GMT+00:00 2000:<E> <WebLogicServer> Failed to invoke

We tried this on Windows NT 4.0 sp 5 and it worked fine. When we tried it
on HP-UX 11 thats when we had problems. We were able to startup the ORB
without using Weblogic on HP. Is there a problem with startup classes on
Weblogic for HP?
Eduardo;
I was able to accomplish this by making the ORBacus jar files into an
installed java extension with the HP-UX version of JDK 1.2.2.04.

There are no known issues wrt to startup classes that are particular to the HP environment. The only advice I can offer is to make sure that if there are command line parameters that must be passed to the ORB.init call, that you are correctly passing these; to confirm with HP that they support (or
require) the use of the orb.properties file to specify the names of the ORBSingleton; and, try to use the orb.properties file to configure the orb implementation.

CTS+ in PI 7.10 - problem starting cts browser from stms
Hi folks!
We have successfully configured and tested CTS+ for PI 7.1 ESR and ID objects as well as for 7.1 SLD objects. So far the world is "brave".
But we have one little issue and after scanning SMP and SDN it seems as if we are the only ones all over the world having this problem.
When we launch the CTS Browser (Transport Organizer WebUI) from ESR, ID and/or SLD and/or manually by entering the URL in the browser the CTS browser starts as desired. But when we try to start it from within ABAP transaction STMS (via Icon or via F7) only an empty browser window is launched, but not the CTS borwser in it.
Has anybody any ideas what's going on here?
Thanx in advance,
Regards,
VolkerHi Volker,
This will work with SAP GUI SP09 or higher.

Problem starting a scenario from Unix command line
Hello all, many apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum, if it is and you could direct me to the right section I'd be grateful.
If you're still reading and I am in the right section, I have a problem when using the startscen.sh script to start a scenario.
This is what appears to be the relevant part of the log, I've had to change some values in the output for our security people.

lots of java
If anyone could shed some light I would be very grateful.
izzFantastic! Thankyou for your help. I realise my problem was that I copied jdic.jar into the project folder to save effort, but forgot tray.dll. I had seen tray.dll in that error output, but simply hadn't made the connection - you know how it is after staring at the same problem for a whole evening!
As it is, I only had to copy tray, dll into the project folder and it works fine. :D.
Thanks a lot. -
Problem starting AIR app from windows server 2003
Hello,
I have an AIR app that I am trying to run using a c#
webservice under Win 2003.
I am starting the application process (air .exe file) as the
"Network Service" user which has full-rights on the app-folder and
app-working folder. The problem is that once with the applications
the "Adobe AIR Updater.exe" process is starting to (using the same
user N.S.) and both of the processes stop responding.
I have tried to start the process as "Local Service" with
"Desktop Interaction" too but unfortunately with no result.
I must tell you that under XP and Vista it runs perfect...
Is there any security issue related to win 2003 or any way i
can start an air app from command line.
Also i am interested why "Adobe Air Updater.exe" is starting
?Not sure about copying eulaAccepted file from one location to another - that would really depend on which user account your service is running under.
A better approach (IMHO), is to open the services window (My Computer | <right-click> | Manage, then navigate to Services and expand the tree) so you can see your service on the RHS.
Stop your service, then inspect it's properties, select the 'Log on' tab, then check the checkbox which says "Allow system to interact with desktop". Apply the change, then restart your service.
next time the AIR runtime prompts you to accept the EULA, the window will appear on the screen, so you can click "I accept".
After accepting, reverse the procedure which allowed the service to interact with the desktop, and make sure that you have modified the registry to prevent AIR from updating as mentioned in:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/air_admin/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3 d11c0f59823a-7ff0.html
You should be all set. -

Problem starting OAS/ORB processes
I ran owsctl start and get the message 'ORB is not responding. Please re-start manually', I then tried owsctl start -orb and it gets to the bit where it says 'Waiting for ORB to be ready' and just hanges there, I'm new to OAS so I could be doing something very stupid, I'm running OAS 4.0.7 on Redhat 6.2

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am having problems archiving gmail conversations from my inbox view (either one or several conversations) as it says "No Conversations Selected" when I have selected one or several. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I have to click the cursor in the box to type the event (it used to let me just start typing) or else it flips out and starts jumping to day view or another month. Does anyone know how to fix either of these?
I have had this problem; but while trying to fix another problem, I reset my preferences for Firefox and it fixed this problem as well. To reset preferences, follow this link: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Resetting%20preferences

Can't migrate from Weblogic 8.1 to 10.1. Problems with Web services.
Hi,
I'm beginner in the BEA Weblogic technologies. My current task is a migration of working application (from Weblogic 8.1 to Weblogic 10.1).
I've created the new ear-file for WLS 10.1 successfully.
But during deploying of new ear-file on server I retrieve the next error:

Problems starting server from within CFBuilder
I recently installed CFBuilder and setup a localhost server. I did not check the box to Use Windows Service to start/stop in the server setting. I currently have the CF Server set to manually startup in the Windows Services. When I finished the setup, I see the server starting up in the CFBuilder console. Everything seems to work fine until I restart my machine. Once I restart my machine and run CFBuilder, I cannot start the server from the Servers panel. A messages in the console comes back stating that the server is unresponsive. I thought it was my java version, so I updated the java to the latest 6_19. Still the problem exists. I uninstalled CFBuilder and reinstalled it, and it works fine (CF Server starts up in the console) until again I restart my machine.
I do have Windows Vista 32-bit. I downgraded back to Java version 6_06. I thought the problem was just my machine, but I have another Vista machine that is having the exact problem, and it has the same JAVA and Vista.
I looked through the Coldfusion Logs to see if I can find any errors. I have tried to find logs in CFBuilder, but I have not been able to locate any.
Any Ideas?
Thanks for your help!
AndrewHi Sam,
Unfortunately, this feature does not exist in Workshop 9.2
Regarding your question about redirecting the output, the logs are saved under the domain directory.
You could also refer to the following section for additional info on redirecting the output to multiple destinations.
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs90/ConsoleHelp/taskhelp/logging/RedirectJVMOutput.html
Hope this helps.

Problem starting ORB of OAS407
Hi,
It seems that I have no luck with the OAS40. I installed the
version 4.0.7 found on the JDev20 cd with the Enterprise edition
8.0.5 on a fresh NT40 server with service pack 3. When I try to
start the orb and listeners I get the following error:
OWS-20214: The OAS processes can not be started because the
CORBA orb processes can not be started.
What did I do wrong, did I forget something during installation?
I gues it should work but till now I never succeeded.
Thanks in Advance

Hi all
I am migrating my application from weblogic 7.0 to oracle9iAS Release2 Version 9.0.2.
My problem is:
In my application, after an entity bean creates a row in the table, if there is any SQL update or insert in the same transaction for the same table to which the entity bean created the row, Oracle9iAS could not proceed with the transaction(it is locking indefinitely the stored procedure which is either updating or inserting).
After analysing the problem,i found that this is working in Weblogic because of the following parameter in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
<delay-updates-until-end-of-tx>false</delay-updates-until-end-of-tx>
The function of the above parameter in Weblogic is:
Setting delay-updates-until-end-of-tx to false does not cause database updates to be "committed" to the database after each method invoke; they are only sent to the database. Updates are committed or rolled back in the database only at the conclusion of the transaction.
My question is Is there any such parameter or its equivalent in oracle9iAS or is there any way to get out of this problem. This is very urgent for me......plz help me out.
Thanks in advance,
Siva KishorHi,
The tag (delay-updates-until-commit) you have suggested was not compatiable with oracle9iAS 9.0.2, It is giving "Counld not recognize "delay-updates-until-commit" in orion-ejb-jar.xml during deployment of the jar.
So we have migrated our application to oracle9iAS 9.0.3. Now we are not getting any such error during deployment but while using the application to insert/update getting Null PointerException.
This problem may be related with some migrating issues of Oracle App server(9.0.3).
But at the same time this can be related with EJB's coding also since this new version
of Oracle App server is compatible with EJB 2.0, our application has been developed using EJB1.1 Spec.
This is the stack trace, during accessing EntityBean.

Problems migrating from weblogic 8.1 to 9.2
Hello All,
I am in the process of migrating a J2EE/EJB application from weblogic 8.1 to 9.2. I am able to deploy the application but could not run it. The application was working fine in 8.1.
weblogic 9.2 throws the following error...

I understand 9.2 is strict with standards, does this have to do something with the standards?
Thank you in advance. This was an issue with flushing in tiles. I set flush="false" and all is working fine.
Thank you. -
Datasource problem while Porting to 10g OC4j from Weblogic 8.1
I am porting an app that is currently deployed in WL 8 that uses a Kodo-JDO as persistent mechanism. The connection to DB is obtained thru a JNDI definition. In weblogic, you first set a JDBC connection pool and then associate a JNDI name to the pool. In our app to access this JNDI tree/instance you define the app-console user-name and password as the jdo-connection username and password. Everything works.
However, I am not able to translate the above in OC4j realm.
What is the datasource class I need to chose? The connection params are for the DB right? and in my jdo.properties do I need oc4j-console username and passwd to access the JNDI?
Thanks.
asAfter several trial and error settings, I got it working.
1. kodo.properties:
javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName: <db-username>
javax.jdo.option.ConnectionPassword: <db-password>
the above is very different from weblogic-approach where you provide the user/password
of the weblogic-console/JNDI-tree
2.jndi.properties:
I don't know whether this makes any difference or not:
java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
java.naming.provider.url=ormi://localhost:23791
3.I used the com.evermind.sql.OrionCMTDataSource as our backend is Oracle 9i
The errors encountered during trial and error:
1. Logon denied
2. User-credentials do not match existing ones -
Problem with the NodeManager in Weblogic 10.0 MP1
Hi,
I have a problem starting the Nodemanager successfully. I have currently installed BEA Weblogic 10.0 MP1. The admin server is getting started successfully. When, I start the Nodemanager with the command:
startnodemanager -machine <hostname>, it neither gives the success message nor the error message. It comes to a stand still. Please see the below text, which appears on the Command prompt, when I run the nodemanager command.

After this, when I check the nodemanager status in Console, then the status appears as REACHABLE. Assuming, this to be the successfully message, I try to start the managed servers associated with the Machine/Server. But, it fails and there appears a message on the console with the status as 'Force Shutting Down' for this server.
When I check the logs, there seems to be some problem with the Nulll exception. Please see the below logs as it appears, its only a part of the logs
